Console Weblogic deploy, logs
Hello
I have the weblogic 10.3.6 and boot with the option-Dlog4j.configuration, I would point to the log4j.xml file appenders for my library, etc..
When you start the AdminServer does load correctly and make log4j log files correctly defined, the problem comes when load the "consoleapp" weblogic fails here, but it is not so and load the log4j that I indicate in-Dlog4j.configuration, ie loading it twice.
Why?
If anyone can explain how it should configure the console of weblogic to not load the log4passed in -Dlog4j.configuration, I appreciate it.
A greeting and thank you very much

Welcome to the Apple user discussion forums
I'll hit a few of your questions - others will have to do others since I'm not up on some of the issues you ask about
4) is there an easy way to review/delete items (in 6, i run a basic slideshow and delete on the fly -- is this still workable in 7?)?
Yes
5) Are there significant functionality benefits of 7 over 6 (e.g., does the noise function or shadow/highlight really offer significant benefits? The Events seems obvious, but I'm more interested in "under the hood" experience
Yes
Loseless editing - web galleries - events
a) Is import any faster? As my library is growing in size, the import is getting overly slow
It is fine for me (only you can compare to your current) - I have 20542 items using 26.3 GB in 271 events
7) Is there a full-screen edit mode?
yes
8) Can you configure events so that it's not just by day?
yes
9) Is 6's "roll" structure as mirrored in the file system still available in the Events approach, or is the database structure that once you've converted a library, there's no going back?
Events replace rolls (if your rolls are named - NOT the default rollxxx name - they will come across as is - to me events are rolls with much more capability and a new name - some people are VERY putoff by the change (but most love it) for reasons that I simply do not comprehend
10) What is the effective (or advised) maximum library size? I've probably got over 60GB of images in my libraries now, with 20,000 images or so. If 7 can readily digest them (and preserve all my albums, etc.), then I'd love to combine them into one, unless that will kill performance, make the database unstable, drive backups into interminable waits, etc.
The advertised max is 250,000 photos - I have about the same number of photos as you in about 1/3 the space - there are a few users here with libararies your size. With iPhoto Library Manager it is easy to maintain multiple libraries if you choose

Weblogic deploying an already deployed application!
Hi,
These are the following errors that I get. This is an already deployed application so not sure why weblogic deploys it again. This does not happen in all the machines.
Can someone tell me why it is doing this and how to make the application come up?
This is the error that I get when logging into the application:
Error 503--Service Unavailable
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
10.5.4 503 Service Unavailable
The server is currently unable to handle the request due to a temporary overloading or maintenance of the server. The implication is that this is a temporary condition which will be alleviated after some delay. If known, the length of the delay may be indicated in a Retry-After header. If no Retry-After is given, the client SHOULD handle the response as it would for a 500 response.

I am having some trouble trying to adjust the deployment settings of our application in weblogic. I feel what I'm trying to do ought to be quite simple, but it's not working as expected.
I am just trying to override the context-root in weblogic.xml and the JNDI name for the data source, so these can both be configured at deployment time.
I have removed the application.xml from the ear file, so that shouldn't be affecting the overrides.

Nothing happens when I use the deployment plan, and neither of the variables appear under the Deployment Plan configuration screens in the admin console. From what I understand, I should at least be asked for these variables, since I have specified that they are null in the deployment plan.
When I use WLST to browse the tree, I find that the runtime configuration just stays as the values in the deployment descriptors.
I have verified the deployment plan is being used in the general tab of the admin console.
Can anyone help me find out what I am doing wrong here? If I don't create a data source called LogicalDS, I get errors about this, suggesting it is not correctly overriding. I am puzzled to why I do not see any variables to specify though..The documentation implies that this is not the case - see:
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24329_01/web.1211/e24443/export.htm#autoId13
'Assigning Null Variables to Require Administrator Input'.
However, require administrator input where? My thoughts were that this option would appear in the admin console under 'deployment plan'. However, although I have specified resource dependencies in the deployment descriptors, and the plan, nothing appears under 'resource dependencies' for the application.
Is the only way to change the context-root deployment URL by actually manually editing an XML file?
To me that seems primitive and will cause us support issues when distributing our application - is there any other way I can enable the ability to specify the data source name and context-root through the web console prior to/during deployment?

Problem with weblogic.deploy and cluster
I'm having some problems with the weblogic.deploy class when trying to refresh

Hi John,
How's tricks?
It looks to me as though the olbcluster JNDI reference isn't being resolved from
the tree. A similar error results when a Connection Pool cannot be resolved, the
JNDI context env.jdbc is resolved but the particlar pool isn't. In my experience
it often turns out to be an error in the correlation between the deployment descriptors,
settings applied via the console and references made in the code.
That's my tuppence worth,
James :-)

Class not found in weblogic deployment
Hi,
I'm trying to deploy the adobe livecycle ears to a hardened weblogic, but for some reasons some jars/classes are not found.
If I try to deploy the same ears to an weblogic base domain, I do not see this error.
Any ideas what could cause this issue? Could you maybe provide me with further information which ear is involved in that issue, so that I can take a closer look at the classpath.

looks a problem regarding classpath settings
The directory upto which the packaging starts
should be in the class path.
for e.g
..\Appl

Here packaging starts from under dir Appl
Just add Appl to u'r classpath and it should compile -
Weblogic.deploy update -- and that null message
So, does anyone else receive an inexplicable error message when running "weblogic.deploy update" in version 6.0, stating that a "java.lang.NullPointerException" has been thrown?
The update occurs anyway, but seeing a message like this is always disconcerting. Anyone have an idea why this is happening?
(The exact trace that I receive is cut-n-pasted below.)

this question must be either:
a) No, no one else receives this inexplicable error, or,
b) Yes, everyone else receives this inexplicable error
and it's so well known how dare I ask.
Anyone want to give me a clue which of these two is correct?

Guys,
How can I read the server logs via API ?
Explaining: I wanna see the Weblogic Server Logs thats is displayed in console or server logs. Then I will write a Java code that read theses files via WebLogic API and write it in a JSP page! Is it Possible ?
Thanks in advanced!Hi,
You can use the Following command to Output the Local/Remote Server Logs...Now in your Java Code Fetch this Output and format it / Display it according to your Need.
java weblogic.Admin -url t3://AdminAddress:7001 -username weblogic -password weblogic SERVERLOG
In the Above command even you can define the Server name as well to Fetch the Logs from Some Managed Servers as well..By default u get Logs for AdminServer.
Thanks

Hello,
i have to provide an WLS 12c for external developet Applications.
Now i want to setup the Logging for every deplyoment on its own.
atm every log is written in the logfiles of the Server (managed host) and this is very deficult to specify wich output is written by wich deployment.
Does someone got a hint how i can specifiy that the Output of "Deplyoment A" should be written in "FileA" and so on?
best regards,

I'm trying to use weblogic.deploy during development.
Say I change something in the bean class. I have noticed that it's enough to
replace the class files in the deployable unit (that is not running ejbc)
and restart the server to get the changes to occur.
However using weblogic.deploy doesn't seem to work. Regardless if I change
an existing jar file or use ejbc.
I'm able to replace the unit according to "weblogic.deploy list" but the
changes aren't there when I run the EJB.
-Is there something about the classpath. I am developing in an IDE and have
all classes in the classpath, which are in the jar. Actually I tried to
remove them but it didn't matter. But classpaths are always tricky.
-I have connections between entity beans and session beans open during the
redeploy. May these have some effect.
Would be very happy for answers.

Erik RomsonI think I am having similar sorts of problems. We are trying to use weblogic.deploy
with the update action to automate our deployment process. The deployement appears
to go smoothly and we get no error messages, but none of the changed files appear
to actually make it to the server. We are deploying an EAR file. We I deploy
this file manually via the web console everything works. But if I alter some
classes and rebuild the EAR and then try to deploy it with weblogic.deploy it
doesn't seem to actually take effect. Do I need to undelpoy and then deploy again
instead of using the update action?
Any help would be appreciated.
