ConsoleOne Snapin Installation

This may sound like a dumb question, but does anyone know how to install the
ZFH snapins to ConsoleOne running from a NetWare server? I was only able to
install them to a locally installed copy of ConsoleOne on my workstation. I
have an enterprise customer that runs C1 from a clustered server environment
and I need to update the copy running from the server. Just copying the
ZFH snapin directory from my workstation to the server did not work. Thanks
for your help.

As Jason has suggested, if you try to install ZfH on a machine that does not
find a ConsoleOne installation anywhere (looks for it in the registry, and
the local drives), it would copy the ConsoleOne-related files in
<ZfH_install_dir>/ConsoleOne.
You could copy these files to the server and you should be ready to go.
Thanks & Regards

What is the correct procedure to install and manage the DAS object?
I've got a new install of NetWare 6.5 SP3, with Radius from BM3.8 and
ConsoleOne NMAS snapins from the snapins included with ConsoleOne V 1.3.6d.
I can create a DAS object and configure an object name and password only
once. From then on the DAS object becomes unmanageble from ConsoleOne which
just locks up when you select properties on the object. Same thing happens
    on new install of OES.
Tried mapping a drive from the Novell server with the same result (as per
previous post "no dial access object").
I then launched ConsoleOneDos from the server bin directory on my
workstation. It still locked up when selecting properties on the DAS
object, but the DOS box continually scrolls with this message: "Waiting for
reading vendor list from Attribute file"
    Help... please.... :-{

Thanks Mike. But the problem is an old one apparently:
    http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/qna/8422.html
All I had to do was get a copy of that pesky RADIUS.ATR file...
All working as advertised now! ;-)

  • NMAS and ConsoleOne Objects

I'm having a bit of a problem with ConsoleOne snapins and RADIUS objects.
The Radius DAS object appears as unknown on all my systems running
ConsoleOne 1.3.6d. I have one system running v1.3.6 and the radius objects
appear fine. All consoleone installations have the same NMAS snapins
loaded (from the iChain CD). I recall having to copy radius.atr to the
consoleone/bin directory to get it working the first time but this doesn't
seem to do the trick on these other workstations.
Also, almost out of the blue, I don't see the my new (RSA) login process
listed under the login methods of the user object properties anymore. I'm
not sure what has changed as it's only been about two weeks since I've been
out to this site. It still works for the users that I previously setup but
    I can't configure new users.
    Does anyone have any thoughts?

I got the RSA login method to appear again. I had to reinstall the RSA
NMAS snapin that I downloaded from RSA. Something must have gotten corrupt.
However, I still can't see the properties of the Radius objects in
ConsoleOne. The only thing I can find is a potentially bad radius.atr
file. I've copied this file from a working system to the other systems but
its still missing something. Snap-ins are sooo much fun.

  • Foreign System Configuration Tab Missing in ConsoleOne

We installed the GroupWise 7 Gateway for Microsoft Exchange SP2 and are trying to configure the gateway. However, we are missing the Foreign System Configuration Tab in ConsoleOne.
We've rerun the install and selected to just install the ConsoleOne snapins, but are still not seeing the Foreign System Configuration tab. I can see the file gwex.jar in the ConsoleOne\1.2\snapins\groupwise folder on the computer I ran the gateway installation from so I think the snapin is installed.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Properties DAS object make ConsoleOne hang

    Hi,
I just installed the version of NMAS included in iChain 2.3.
I try to get iChain working with tokens, so I created a DAS object. While
asking the properties, ConsoleOne hangs, both on Netware servers as on
    Windows clients.
Tried to run ConsoleOne in debug mode, but it hangs right after having
started. Before we had no issues whatsoever with Consoleone.
Tried version 1.3.4, 1.3.5 and 1.3.6 with all exactly the same result.
In NWadmin, I can ask the properties of the DAS object, but in the list
of RADIUS system, "Novell Radius" is not available.
Anyone ever had the same issue?
    Bart

This indeed did the trick. Thx a million , Scott.
What baffles me, is that this file is available on the NMAS CD in
    \Nmas\NmasConsoleOne\RadiusSnapin.zip\
But that it is apparently not installed.
    bad Novell, bad!!! ;-)

  • Trex can't be updated to higher levels on windows 2003 server 64 bit

    Hi gurus,
We have a portal system (EP 7.0 SP18) and a Trex 7.0 server which are
working on windows 2003 server 64 bit on the same server.
After upgrading our portal system from sp15 to sp18, we can not see
indexes on Index Administration screen. When we tried to create the
indexes from the beginning, we faced the message "An index with the samename already exists."
We thought that the level of the Trex server(25) is low which may cause
this problem and decided to update the Trex server to level 46. We
    downloaded "TREX70_46-20001842.SAR TREX 7.0 REV 46" from
service.sap.com and tried to update Trex server according to
    NW70_SPSTACK_GUIDE_SPS18.pdf.During the installation a warning
message "You started an installation of sofware for platform
i386, but SAPinst is running on platform AMD64" was given. When we
continued the installation, an error message
was shown in a message box."Running msiexec.exe failed with return code
1603:Fatal error during installation. Commandline was
    msiexec.exe/norestart/L sapmmcx86u.log/i sapmmcx86u.msi/qn" I searched
the sapmmcx86u.log and the error message says that this installation
    package is not for windows
    2003 server 64 bit.
"This installation does not support 64 Bit Windows Operating systems.
Please use the corresponding 64 Bit installation package.
Action ended 8:26:08: LaunchConditions. Return value 3.
Action ended 8:26:08: INSTALL. Return value 3.
MSI (s) (10:84) [08:26:08:578]: Product: SAP MMC SnapIn -- Installation
    failed."
We searched in OSS notes and found the note "Note 1021003 - TREX 7.00 -
Update Windows 2003 64-Bit installed from DVD"
.We did the things in the note but unfortunately nothing changed.
We tried the install revision 45,44 etc but we got the same warning and
    error messages.
    Any suggestions?
Edited by: Tolga Akinci on Apr 30, 2009 3:08 PM

    Hi Tolga,
    You face with this error, because of Trex installation package is trying to install native i386 redistributables (vcredist_x86.msi) during the process. In order to patch Trex system on x64 architecture, follow the instructions, below;
    1) Start sapinst, under your <TREX_PATCH> path
    2) Ignore AMD64 warning popup
    3) When popup appears on the "1603:Fatal error during installation." error, change temp folders on both environment variables, on my computer
    4) Download and execute "vcredist_x64.exe" then run installer
    5) After respective installation click on "Retry" button on error popup
At the end of this operation, your Trex patch will be succeeded. Please do not forget to undo your temp directory settings, on your Trex host. I hope that it is clarify your question.
    Best regards,

  • Radius / NMAS / BM / Ichain

    Hello,
    i have the following Setup:
    1x Single Tree Server with Nw 6.5 SP1a / BM3.8 SP2
This is a simple authentication Server which is placed in our dmz. Some users are synchronized with dirxml from the productive main tree to the authentication tree.
Primary this box is used for client2site vpn with vasco digipass tokens. This setup is working.
Now i wish to use the same box for ichain Radius authentication.
I have setup a 2nd box in the dmz for ichain 2.3. I have made the necessary schema extension on the Authentication server and installed the snapins for ichain.
I tested authentication with ldap to the authentication server.... no problem
    Now the problems:
I setup a authentication profile on the ichain server for radius
I configured the authentication servers lpo and radius objects. All this is described in the ichain admin book page 89 (chapter 7 using radius authentication)
When i check the radius console i get the following message:
    [DATE TIME] Access Request Dropped
    IchainIP, cn, Unknown Radius client
What i did again: I found several tid's where the problem is described. I Changed rights to the lpo, installed the nmas234.tar, changed userprops.....but till now nothing works.

    Thanks
    Stefan

    It's working now.
The Problem was the LPO. In the LoginSequences tab i have modified the standard digipass entry and added a
NDS entry. This was necessary for BM3.8 VPN Logins in our environment.
So I createt a new one, with only digipass inside and associate this LoginSequence to the Radius DAS.
    Have a nice time
    Stefan
    >>> Scott Kiester<[email protected]> 11.08.04 22:21 >>>
You can't execute two login sequences with RADIUS, because there is no way
for RADIUS to prompt for a second set of credentials over the PAP or CHAP
protocols. The ConsoleOne snapin should not be allowing you to mark more
than one sequence as mandatory, as this configuration is invalid.
The recommended way of supporting multiple methods through RADIUS is by
creating a single NMAS "OR" login sequence, rather than using multiple
rules. You could create a sequence that specified "NDS" OR "Digipass." In
this case RADIUS would first execute the NDS method, and only execute the
    Digipass method if NDS fails.
I realize that you want to require NDS AND Digipass, not NDS OR Digipass. A
login sequence that specifies NDS AND Digipass would always fail, because
the password supplied by the user would never be valid for both methods.
Unfortunately, there is not a way to require both NDS and Digipass through
    RADIUS.

    Hello Scott,
thank you very much. it seems that your eyes are better than ours.
The unknown client is now gone, but we still have some problems.
I have the new raddbg and nmasmon-log file below.
We have set the Sequences in the LPO for this DAS-Object to:
    NDS Mandatory
    Digipass Mandatory
On the UserObject the DefaultLoginClearance is set to password&token.
When we attemp to login we can see that the vasco digipass successfull login
    counter is incremented by 1.

It looks like you transposed the middle two octets in the client IP

You might have a problem with the tree key in your environment. First of
all, make sure that ConosleOne is storing the client data. After you add a
new entry to the client table on your DAS, close the DAS properties dialog
and re-open it. If the new client is not there when you re-open the dialog,
then ConsoleOne may have been unable to save the data due to a problem with
the tree key. You can confirm this by executing ConsoleOne with the
following command line: "consoleone -debug -windowout". This will make
ConsoleOne display a debug window in the top-left portion of your screen.
    If
there is a problem saving the client data, then ConsoleOne will display an
exception and an error code in this window. If the error is in the -14xx
range, (-1460 and -1418 are most common) then you most likely have a
    problem
    with your tree key.
If ConsoleOne is saving the data correctly, then you'll need to see what is
happening when RADIUS.NLM reads this data. To do this, issue a "radius
refreshcache" command at the server console after you enable debug logging.
Please post this file here and I'll take a look at it.
Tree key problems can be corrected with SDIDIAG, which IIRC is available as
a free download from the support site.

    Hello,
    i have the following Setup:
    1x Single Tree Server with Nw 6.5 SP1a / BM3.8 SP2
This is a simple authentication Server which is placed in our dmz. Some
users are synchronized with dirxml from the productive main tree to the
    authentication tree.
Primary this box is used for client2site vpn with vasco digipass tokens.
    This setup is working.
Now i wish to use the same box for ichain Radius authentication.
I have setup a 2nd box in the dmz for ichain 2.3. I have made the necessary
schema extension on the Authentication server and installed the snapins for
    ichain.
I tested authentication with ldap to the authentication server.... no
    problem
    Now the problems:
I setup a authentication profile on the ichain server for radius
I configured the authentication servers lpo and radius objects. All this is
described in the ichain admin book page 89 (chapter 7 using radius
    authentication)
When i check the radius console i get the following message:
    [DATE TIME] Access Request Dropped
    IchainIP, cn, Unknown Radius client
What i did again: I found several tid's where the problem is described. I
Changed rights to the lpo, installed the nmas234.tar, changed
    userprops.....but till now nothing works.

  • Radius problems/ichain

we have Nw6.5 SP2 with radius files from ichain 2.3 CD(overwrite all)
    with the nmas patch
    nmas V2.6.8
    radius v4.15
    problems:
1.were getting radius client unknown (radius nlm does load but wont
    unload, just hangs)
    2. i can only get nwadmin to save the client details in the DAS object
C1 just wont save it- ive tried V136c,136,135 and the server version
    which errors with
"waiting for reading vendor list from attribute file" however the
    radius.atr file does exist
    3. not sure if this is relevant here but vasco token wont assign to a user
errors with "unable to write configuration data"
    thanks for help

well for no reason at all it started working with C1 locally 2 days later !
    weird
Also if I assign a DAS object to a container and all users underneath are
told to inherit the DAS from the container settings
then I wont have to configure each user object ? This doesnt sem to inherit
    for some reason.
Is the Radus.nlm form the ichain 2.3 auth CD good enough for a NW6.5 SP2
    server or is
    there an update
    Thanks?

  • Online Update edirectory 888 patch conflicts

Saw yesterday that Novell released patches for eDirectory 8.8.8 for OES 11.2. On my Groupwise 2012 server, I am getting a conflict error when running Online Updates.
    patch:oes11sp2-edirectory-888-patch2-hot-patch-9407.noarch conflicts with novell-NLDAPbase.x86_64 < 8.8.8.2-0.7.1 provided by novell-NLDAPbse-8.8.8.1-0.5.13.x86_64
It gives me 3 choices for Conflict Resolution. I can deinstall, replace, or not install the patch. I believe I would want to do replace, but I do not want to cripple my server either.
    Please help guide me, Obi-Wan!

  • Wi-Fi script errors line 183

I posted this thread in other spot, but it was apparently the wrong area.  Here's the issue:
I try to use the Verizon Wi-Fi Activation program, and cannot get it to work.  All the symptoms are below.
First, it pops up a box titled Internet Explorer Script Error.  Details are:
An error has occurred in the script on this page.
    Line: 183
    Char: 3
Error: Automation server can't create object
    Code: 0
    URL: file://C:/Progra,%20Files/Verizon/WIFI/smartaccess/common/snapins/installer/inc/vz_overload.js
Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?
Whether I select YES or NO, here's where it goes next:
    Title bar: ss_shell_Title
       Verizon Wi-Fi Installation
    header
                                                      O
                                             subheader
and the O is the circle that just keeps rotating and rotating and rotating and rotating and rotating....
Why can't it be a simple sign-in like we do with email addresses instead of some crazy program that doesn't work?
I tried this while using Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Internet Explorer (just to make sure it wasn't a browser conflict of some sort), with it always doing the same thing...
    Oh, and the follow-up message:

A lot of people wish that these hotspots for Verizon were nothing more than an HTTP page walled garden setup until you punched in a Verizon Username and Password into the web page. Walled Gardens aren't too hard to set up but they are also easy to get around (but if someone gets around, you can set them on a shoddy QoS profile anyhow). Not doing that results in issues with platform dependencies (excluding really anything other than Windows on a laptop to be used). Around my area, every Wi-Fi Hotspot I find broadcasts in the clear and is basically connect and go. Some of them require accepting an agreement, but that's no problem.

  • Unknown RADIUS client errors

We are running Novell Netware 6.0 SP4 and eDirectory 8.6.2. We have set up
iChain 2.3 with the included NMAS and RADIUS services. iChain with NDS
password authentication works properly. Now we are trying to add token
authentication, and it is not working. The RADIUS screen keeps showing
"Access Request Dropped", "<ip address>, <user>, Unknown RADIUS client".
I have turned on debug mode, refreshed the cache, tried logging in again,
and checked the debug file. The error I am getting I have not seen
referenced in previous newsgroup posts. The important section shows this:
    Context Lookup List set to:

It looks like it is not reading the client table properly, but I don't know
how to fix it. We have recreated the DAS object, removed and re-added the
client address in the DAS object, etc.
If anyone has any ideas on what else we can try, I would really appreciate
    it. Thanks.

You should always administer NMAS from a Windows workstation, Unfortunately
you can't administer NMAS, and therefore NMAS RADIUS, on any other platform
right now. The NMAS ConsoleOne snapins make native calls to nmaswrap.dll,
and this module is only available on Windows.
You can map a drive to your server from a Windows box and run ConsoleOne
from the mapped drive to see if this works. However, for best results with
RADIUS, you will want to install ConsoleOne locally on a Windows box. When
run over a mapped drive, the RADIUS snapin can take a very long time (5-15
minutes in my experience) to load the RADIUS attribute file.
You mentioned that you've been running ConsoleOne from a workstation, so I
assume that you've tried setting the DAS client information from a Windows
box already. If you have not tried this yet, then please do so.
The -601 you're getting from NMAS_GetLoginConfig is interesting.
Unfortunately this method is implemented in NMAS.NLM, which is maintained by
a different team, so I'm not sure how much more help I can provide with
this. However, I do have a few ideas:
    1) When RADIUS calls NMAS_GetLoginConfig, its asking NMAS to read encrypted
data that is stored in attributes on the DAS object. If I remember
correctly, NMAS.NLM cannot go off the box when it does this. Does your
RADIUS server have a local replica that contains the DAS object? If it does
not, then this might be your problem.
    2) If putting the DAS in a local replica does not work, then a DS Trace with
the NMAS and Resolve Name options turned on may provide some insight. (I
can't remember if NMAS is a DS Trace option in eDir 8.6 - if you don't see
the NMAS option, then don't worry about it.) Start DSTrace while RADIUS is
running and issue a "radius refreshcache" command like you did before.
If neither of the above suggestions is helpful, then tell the support
engineer you're working with that the -601 error is coming from
NMAS_GetLoginConfig and which version of NMAS.NLM you have. Please also tell
the support engineer that you've been working with me (Scott Kiester) on
this, and that he/she may call me they have any questions.
    >>> Stephen Taylor<[email protected]> 08/06/04 12:38 PM >>>
    Hi Scott,
Thank you for the follow-up. Based on suggestions from some of your other
posts, I had already run ConsoleOne with the debug window, and I did not
    see
any errors when I added a DAS client. I ran the SDIDiag utility and went
through the three recommended steps. There were no errors, and the tree key
looked the same on all our servers. I did not know about the NMAS log file.
I followed your directions, and this is all that the log file shows:
0: Screen and file output started at Fri Aug 6 10:49:53 2004
    GetLoginConfig: -601
    NMAS_GetLoginConfig: -601
Based on a couple of other posts, I decided to try deleting the DAS object
and recreating it using ConsoleOne from the NMAS server instead of from a
workstation. It asks me for the password when creating the object, then
immediately abends the serve and locks up ConsoleOne. This has happened
three times now, even after reloading the snap-ins. I don't know what to
    try
next. We have run dsrepair and it runs cleanly.

  • Global signature help

I have 3 different ones set up. I'm working with Novell as far as
getting any changes to affect *all* emails without doing post office
rebuild, but I have another issue I'd like to see about getting some
    help.
I can't seem to get these signatures to 'act the same' on emails. I've
had complaints about too many spaces, etc between the email and
signature, so I'm trying to resolve this.
If I take all the blank lines out of the top of the signatures,
sometimes they will continue the last line of the email if the user did
not hit <enter> at the end of their email.
Also, the signatures have one blank line at the end of them, but on
some emails they add 2 or 3 blank lines after the signature.
I created & edit these in ConsoleOne as we're running GW2012sp2 (from
March 2013). Clients are mainly win7 64bit at the same patch level.
What gives? What can I do to get these to look the same on all emails?
    Stevo

    Hi Stevo,
Several years ago I had issues with signatures not looking right - similar to what you are experiencing. It was also very sporadic. It was specifically the HTML signature, the text one seemed to work fine.
After logging an SR with Novell we discovered that it was corruption in my ConsoleOne snapins. I redid the snapins, deleted and recreated the signatures and have never had a problem since. Admittedly we only apply global signatures to external mail.
It probably won't hurt to recopy your GroupWise snapins back to your management PC/Server where you are running ConsoleOne.
This is just my experience with signatures not applying correctly and might not apply to you.
    Cheers,

  • Windows server remote management / remote control agent

I have installed ZFS 6.5. I have installed the agent on an windows server
I have the consoleone snapins installed but there is no option to remote
control in consoleone on the server object. The server does not show any
sign of Zen remote control. Does the agent install include remote control
agent? If not, were is the install located and how do you configure it?
Also when getting packages what is the difference between ZFS 3.0 and the
version that comes with Zfs 6.5?
