Consolidating with fiscal periods and calendar periods

Hi, Does anyone have any information out there on how to configure the system to pull data for fiscal period for some companies and calendar period for other companies? Or any horror stories about trying to do it that way.

For consolidation as a whole only one fiscal year variant is allowed. However, there is possibility of collecting data of different fiscal year variant and using appropriate currency translation rates as per that units fiscal year variant.
For example, if you have consolidation fiscal year variant as 31st March ending and you have one unit X as fiscal year variant 31st december ending, in this case the 12th period data of consolidation unit X will be translated using exchange rate as on 31st dec and not as on 31st March.

         I have a particular query in which posting period and fiscal year are the characteristic variables(mandatory and single values) . I have to define Rolling Year To Date variable/ User exit such that when the user enters posing period and fiscal year query has to fetch previous 12 periods data from the cube..
       If posting period is 005 and fiscal year is 2007 then the output for a particular balance Keyfigure has to be from 005-2007 to 006-2006.
     The thing is we dont have Fiscal period defined in the cube . One possible solution is Using the Offsets if we are are goin to offset on the previous 12 periods, is the query going to fetch the correct values.
    Other thing we can think of is user exits can some one share the logic regarding this... if we have to user the user exits. Promise to award full points.

Since you have posting period and fiscal year separately, you need not think of going for an exit. You can simply use offsets on both so that they will fetch right data. Since there are two separate objects offsets should fetch correct data. Go ahead with offsets.....

Multiple devices with iMessage, FaceTime and calendar in the cloud

There are a number of posts on this, but this is what I do and the issues I face:
My wife and I use a common apple ID for:
Notes
Reminders
Calandars
Photostream (when it works, but there are other postings on that)
Apps
i.e everything else, Music, apps, and addresses are on our Windows PC
We have made a number of sub-IDs for our four devices (iphone 5s and 5 plus iPad 1 with IOS6? and iPad 3) can get the correct emails and iMessages they should and FaceTime rings where it should.
We have done this by selecting where to receive (at) our messages in settings, e.g. the iPhones use our phone numbers as references. The iPads use a gmail address that we have identified under our one Applie ID. Here can be crossover, but I get my messages and my wife gets hers
With the addressbook in the cloud, we can arange here medical and other appointments very easily and synce the stuff everywhere. Notes and reminders. This leaves books music and other stuff safely on the PC, backed up, and only updated when we sync.
This works well, and only when a cloud document is changed in error, do we pay for doing it this way. If my wife were more able, I suppose that she could easily edit the settig details to read my messages, but she has no wish to do this,
This is all fine, buit since IOS 7, whenever a SIM is swapped, I travel a lot, iTunes and iMessages are st to receive everything on all devices. So, my wife gets my messages and I hers. I have to manually fix these, not an onerous task, now I have done it so many times, and have documemnted it; just ver frustrating.
I am in the UK now, my wife is in hospital and does not have enough ability to fix the stuation over the phone.I will have to live with this and a temporary phone (that I got for messages and calls).
What I would like to know is:
1 - Is there a way to stop IOS 7 updating the Mesage / FaceTime read / contact a locaions everytime I change a SIM?
2 - Short of creating a new Apple ID for iCloud, and not being able to share calendars, notes, reminders and photostream (when it works), is there a way around this?
When I gave back home, I will fix the devices up again to make sure we get our separate messages and details. My next UK trip will involve taking the second phone with me.
Any ideas welcome.

Do I have a choice as to what actually gets transferred into the cloud or does it take what it wants? What if I don't care to share particular data with another device, does the cloud take it anyway?

Problems with Yahoo Mail and Calendar on MacBook air. Very slow performance. Any ideas?

I have a macbook air running Apple's latest OS. My system is up-to-date. Over the last few weeks, I have had a very difficult time accessing my yahoo mail and calendar. I can access other sites, thus I know my connection is solid. The problem seems to be limited to Yahoo. I can access my yahoo account on my husband's PC without any issues. To be specific, here are the symptoms of my problem. When I try to open my yahoo mail on the Mac, I get the spinning wheel for several minutes. I view my yahoo calendar through ical. Yahoo is not connecting with ical, thus my calendar is empty. I verified my settings and they are correct. Also, sometimes after trying and retrying the calendar will connect. I checked the web and did not find any info about this problem. I appreciate your assistance.

I have been having the same issue. I can't figure it out. I have tried setting this up my yahoo calendar on my phone and my computer and my iPhone with no luck. It's definitely a Yahoo Problem. At this point I have become enemy to Yahoo Calendar.

Issues with Alarm Clock and Calendar Notifications

I have noticed that when I am using the Alarm clock, it will not go off when the calendar is showing a meeting reminder....
Is there any way to dis-activate this? My alarm clock will not work.. and there are too many appts in my calendar to go thru them to change...

I also have the same issue. If the alarm is set and the calendar sends a notification just prior to the alarm time, the calendar notification prevents the alarm from going off. I understand it is a bug, but when will it be fixed? What is the bug ID? how do we track known bugs so we know they are being fixed? The problem is with the iPhone's included clock and calendar apps, so it is not a 3rd Party application issue, right? Thanks!

Question
What goddamn dates should I enter in the planning area initialization start and end to initialize for maximum duration given the settings above?
I tried a few dozens but none is accepted. For a start I tried the same dates as in Horizon of storage bucket profile. But given the kind of error text I have I cannot decipher with tiny little mind what dates I am expected to enter in for time series creation.

End Date: 31.12.2014
The fiscal year variant is what I pasted above.
I thought time series can only be initialized for a subset of period in the storage bucket profile !. This is my first experience of this kind where Initialization period is larger than the storage horizon. Is this the case ? I went by the book always and this is just a chance discovery by me.
I was aware of the limitation by SAP notes on need to have one more year on either sides in fiscal year variant for it to be used for initialization and hence the range of dates I tried.
Appreciate your comments on this.
All dates in dd/mm/yyyy.

Trouble Syncing Tour with my contacts and Calendar

I have a tour and have had a great deal of trouble with syncing my calendar and my contact from my pc into the BB. I keep getting error messages during the sync after it has processed some records. When I try to import my Calendar from Windows mail I get an error. This is a copy of the log:

Thanks for your reply. First, I am using BB Desktop Manager 5.0.   I set up the sync parameters and had problems. I tried to sync only the calendar after consolidating several family calendars into one ICS file. I selected this file but still had the problems noted in the log. This is similar to the problems I had when I tried to import my contacts into my BB. In order to avoid duplicates I had to sync one way to the device. I would only get so far and it would kick out.
My email sever is from our company. I am unsure how to find the answer to that question.

Problem with syncing IPhone with Outlook mail and calendar

I followed all the instructions to reload, replug, turn on/off iphone & computer, but my new iphone still will not sync. The message says that sync is in progress; syncing calendar, and then:
Error message: "Could not sync calendar to the IPhone because the IPhone disconnected."
Any other suggestions?

I am having the same problem with my phone.
It works sometimes but usually it stops syncing in the middle of the operation.
The syncing prompt dissapears from the iPhone and then Itunes locks up..
Hopefully sombody has an answer?!

Problem with exchange syncing and calendar

I found a bug on the iphone (2.0.2)
When I create a rendez-vous in calendar and I add a note on several lines
example :
Mr Doe
Phone : 00000000
This contact won't synchronize with the exchange server (mail2web), if I create the same appointment on my mac (entourage) it will sync normally.
If I create the same appointment with calendar (on the iphone) and do'nt write the note on several lines, example :
Mr Doe, Phone : 000000
It will sync normally.
Someone else also has this problem ?

I also experianced this problem after an upgrade to Mountain Lion.
I think it has to do with the fact that in Lion the account settings were managed from iCal, and now they are managed by the OS?
Anyway I finally solved it by:
Open Calendar (formerly iCal).
Go to the Calendar menu and select Preferences.
Select the Accounts tab.
Remove the Exchange server account which is giving you the error messages. This calendar will be removed from the Calendar app.
Go to System Preferences and click on the "Mail, Contacts & Calendars" pane, find your Exchange server account, and check the "Calendars & Reminders" option to re-enable your calendar.
Your Calendar should now sync properly.
I had to do this for all of the accounts I had set up in Calander, and haven't had any problems since.

Syncing Blackberry with ACT contacts and Calendar and Email through BES

I have had the hardest time setting up a blackberry for a user. It is the storm or bold 9800
we purchased companionlink and I was able to get the BES configured so it doesn't sync the calendar or contacts just email. On the Companionlink I have had issues were it doesn't sync the calendar or duplicates in the blackberry.
I have talked with support at companionlink and they tell me to select wipe the data on the BB and resync, that process takes forever. So my only option is to wipe everything clean and get one good sync but I can keep doing this for the user everytime.
IS there any troubleshooting methods I can use right now to get rid of the duplicates in the phone?
Or another program worth trying out?

There are two options that I know of.
First, you can try bluetooth syncing so you don't have to plug the BB in http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB04132&sliceId=SAL_Pub...
Second, and the one I use, is the Google Desktop sync. http://www.google.com/support/calendar/bin/answer.py?answer=89955 This will only sync calendar; not contacts. I sync 1-way from my Outlook to Google Calendar then use the normal Google Sync to get it all on my Blackberry.

Direct shares and Group shares:
The group share and minority share of investments and equity in acquisitions of an investee unit are evaluated on the basis of the current percentages of ownership.
· Acquisitions with direct shares (used in U.S. GAAP statements)
· Acquisitions with groups shares (used in German HGB statements).
If acquisitions are calculated on the basis of direct shares, only investment paths between the immediate upper units and the investee unit are taken into account; group shares of the remaining upper units are not taken into account.
The entire ownership grid is taken into account when using acquisitions with group shares. The group share in the investee unit results from taking into account all investment paths that lead from the parent units of the consolidation group to the investee unit.

Problems with Sync with Outlook contacts and calendar (Office 2007)

I have been able to set up my Blackberry curve with email accounts, but sync with Outlook contacts fails. My device will show as connected, but nothing happens. I continue to get a message if I want to use Mass Storage mode on my phone and I assume this should be checked as yes, then I get a folder showing up on my desktop with "Removable Disk (E, which contains several files.
When Desktop Manager is opened I get message "Initial Plugin: Verifying Applications" "checking the status of the applications on the device. This is only required on the first connection of the device to a new desktop installation" It shows in the same dialog box "connecting to the device (JVM)...
The connection hangs and nothing happens. I have reinstalled software and was even told by Verizon Support to exchange the phone (which I did), but the same issue of non-connection for sync is still there.
Any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

iTunes thread found that sync issue was caused by reoccuring appointments,
Basically you need to modify the reoccuring appointments (and may require to add an end date as this was how the guy made a modification) and then re-sync.

Synchronization difficulties with adress book and calendar

Hi,
I have a Treo 680 unlocked and since a few weeks serious problems with the sync of my contacts and my calender with Palm Desktop 4.2 (Win XP).
During the sync-process, the pc-application gives signal that everthing is fine. But after the completion, the desktop protocol doesn't show the current sync and in the device-protocol, the message is: ... OK notes, ok , ok media ...
I know that there is a quantitive limit of contacts but for sure, I haven't already reached it.

Sync up with outlook mail and calendar, now all contacts gone

what the ****? I set up my exchange email account from work on my fone and all my contact information is gone!?

I activated Exchange sync for contacts and also Mobile Me sync for Address Book in the first phase when I started to use my iPhone 3G. So I didn't lost any local contacts on my phone. Both Exchange and Mobile Me work on my phone simultaneously.
I can put Mobile Me sync off and those contacts will disappear from my phone. And when I re-connect Mobile Me, contacts sync fine back to my phone.
I have minor problem though, Exchange sync works fine from my phone to server and vice versa. But Mobile Me seems not to work from Address Book to Phone. When I do this disconnect - reconnect workaround I can get the results I'm looking for, but it's not that user-friendly and "it's only working"-type procedure to do.
Any ideas where could be the problem?

DP Planning in Fiscal Periods and Fiscal Weekly Periods

Hi,
We are using fiscal calnedar that starts on first Sunday of Nov with 4 weeks in each period i.e., fiscal year 2009 started on Nov 2nd (Sunday) and first period goes from Nov 2nd (Sunday) to Nov 29th (Saturday) and so on.
So, our fiscal week also starts on Sunday and ends on Saturday i.e., in first period of 2009 the following are the fiscal weeks
1 fiscal week - Nov 2nd to Nov 8th
2 fiscal week - Nov 9th to Nov 15th
3 fiscal week - Nov 16th to Nov 22nd
4 fiscal week - Nov 23rd to Nov 29th
1 fiscal period - Nov 2nd to Nov 29th
In storage bucket profile we are able to assign only one fiscal period profile. There is no place to consider fiscal weeks.
Created two planning books as follows
1. Planning book with time bucket profile of fiscal periods. It is allowing me to plan in fiscal periods and works as expected
2. Planning book with time bucket profile of fiscal weeks. It is not allowing me to plan in fiscal weeks
How to make the fiscal weeks planning book work?

What version are you using? We asked for this in 2003 at ASUG and although it was delivered in 4.1 we never got it to work, but when we upgraded to 5.1 it works perfectly.
Define 1 storage bucket profile with fiscal weeks and 2 planning bucket profiles, one with fiscal weeks and the other with fiscal months. Then define your planning area with the SBP fiscal week. Within interactive planning, turn on the header functionality. Choose the first icon on the upper left corner of the planning grid and choose "change periodicity" and you can switch from "fiscal weeks" to "fiscal months".
