Consolidation aborted

Hello,
While running consolidation i am getting error  as consolidation aborted and error is "Data and/or status can not change as sub-cube is locked".
I am using HFM version 11.
can you please suggest.
Thanks.

Hi Indraneel,
Found the below two documents from the Oracle Knowledge base.
Financial Management Error "The Process Unit cannot be locked if it needs to be calculated, translated or consolidated". Some Entities Cannot be Locked. (Doc ID 1287964.1)
Financial Management Error "Data and/or status cannot be changed because the sub-cube is locked" When Calculating Data (Doc ID 823594.1)
It is also strongly recommended that you be on the latest patch level and for your version it is 9.3.3
Hope this helps,
Thank you,

    Hi,
    Please suggest me on this.
    Having problem when I added the following in business rule. The consolidation aborts when it reaches 17%!

  • Consolidation Aborting

    Hello Experts,
    Please suggest me on this.
    I am having problem running consolidation. The consolidation aborts when it reaches 46%!
    Please advise ASAP. Your immediate response is much appreciated.
    regards,
    Kumar

    Consolidation aborts when it finds a run-time error in rules. If it worked in the past it may mean that some conditions have changed. When we encounter such a situation, we normally do the following:
    - Calculate all entities: when calculating at the base entity level any error found will display a message that is kind of meaningful. You are kind of lucky!
    - if no error is encountered in the previous step we Translate all entities
    - if no error is encountered in the previous step we Calculate the Contribution for all entities, the bad thing is that you do not get a meaningful message if the error is at this point
    when you encounter the error, you will isolate the entity which sets the condition for the error and will also narrow the areas you're looking for. Then you have to have the rules code available as well as a debug routine. I think there is an earlier posting in this forum with a routine that you may use for saving intermediate rule data in a file.

  • Consolidation aborted at 100%

    Hello,
    with one consolidation level on a specific year and scenario the consolidation stops consistently at 100% -> Status changes to "Aborted". We've made sure that all children and depending scenario are open (it was a hint from other thread here to check this with the mentioned problem).
    In system message I find the following error:
    System Message Summary
    An unknown error has occurred in the HsvDSData2 object.

    What might be the reason and any ideas how to fix?
    We're running Financial management 9.2.0.2.0.1165
    Thanks!

    In this case, I would start by trying to find out which base entity causes the error. To do this, you have to select the base entities one by one and "(Force) Calculate Contribution".
    If you isolate the entity that causes the problem (if any), then you need to have access to the rules code, to do some debugging.
    If there is no problem with calculating the contribution of any of the child entities, then your rules are broken when calculations are executed on the parent entity. Still you need to do some debugging though.

  • Consolidation aborted with error (HFM)

    Hello,
    have an issue with consolidation in 11.1.2.1.602.
    FBBPFT Consolidation Finished id:-1315715586;ACTUAL;2013;.NETGROUP;P01-P12; Consolidation type:ALL

    NumConsolidationThreads - 8
    MaxDataCacheSizeinMB - 6000
    MaxNumDataRecordsinRAM - 4000000
    There is no issue on the DB side.
    Should I try to further increase the parameters or you have any ideas?
    Many Thanks
    Dan

    Hi
    Suggest you to go through the HSVEvent.log file or view the error in HFM Error Log Viewer. Since for most of the issues HFM throws same error - An unknown error has occurred in the HsvDSCalculate object.
    Do you have SOA server on the same server where HFM is installed ?
    Is it a migrated application?
    Thanks

    I faced the HsvDSData2 issue
    1. issue was caused by inactive entities in the period that have locked members from [Parent] to [Contribution Total] in the Value dimension.(for 9.2 version)For the inactive entities in the period, the value dimension members [Parent] to [Contribution Total] must be Unlocked
    2. In case, consolidations require more memory than is available for a single Windows process.(11.1version).Avoid performing consolidations where all twelve months are highlighted. Consolidations that are run for a smaller number of periods will take less memory.

  • Aborting Consolidation in Enterprise 6.5.1

    Chappfile errors usually indicate that some kind of disconnect occurred during the process therefore interrupting it. However, my experience has been that there is probably some data corruption in the database when consolidation aborts. This typically happens when a consolidation is run when users are logged in or a backup is kicked off when users are logged in (the most dangerous). The best/easiest way to fix the issue is to create a new application manually. If this happens often, it might be time to consider upgrading to HFM. Feel free to email me at [email protected] if you have more questions. :)

  • Looking to point iTunes (playlists and all) to a new location

    Hello all,
    I'm in a bit of a pickle of my own making, and I greatly appreciate any help anyone is able to offer on this one.
    I've been using iTunes as a playlist jukebox much more than as a file organizer. Here is my normal mode and sequence of operation, largely because I came into using iTunes later than some other programs out there (like MusicMatch Jukebox or WMP).
    1. Rip tracks to my hard drive using another program.
    2. Add folders/files to iTunes, then create playlists, usually one CD=one playlist. If I have a multi-CD set, I will create a playlist of all the CDs together, instead of individual playlists for each CD.
    3. I do not have iTunes organizing files for me, and I do not create files when adding to the library, because they are already created on my hard drive.
    Several months ago, my 80GB internal drive was running out of room, so I copied everything to a 100GB external drive and started ripping newer tracks out there as I acquired them, and creating new playlists for those newer tracks. I did not re-organize my iTunes library at that time, because I didn't know what to do to accomplish that. So, my current iTunes library has older playlists pointing to files still on my C: drive and newer ones (after the copy to the external drive) to my external drive.
    I also have some music that was imported directly into iTunes, mostly acquisitions from the Music Store. Those files reside exclusively on my C: drive, no copies out on the external drive at this time, and if need be, they could stay on C:, but if I can also move them to the external drive and iTunes can still find them, that would be great.
    I would like to retain all my playlists that are currently referencing files on C:, but still point iTunes to the external drive for every file and playlist reference, since copies of the files on older C: drive playlists are now on the external drive, except for the directly imported files already mentioned. And, if you didn't see this one coming, I'd really like to reclaim the music file space on my C: drive, only after iTunes doesn't look there anymore for files to satisfy the playlists. Well over 50GB stands to be gained here, once reclaimed.
    Now the kicker - I have over 20,400 tracks and well into the hundreds of playlists.
    So there you have it - I have dual copies of most of my music files until I can get iTunes to forget about the old copies entirely, and to not have to re-create those hundreds of playlists to reference files on the external drive.
    I have thought about using an editor on my iTunes library XML file to change all references to C: to my external drive name (and top-level folder references to change as well), but no editor (XML or otherwise) I have in my arsenal will hold a file this big.
    Again, many thanks in advance to anyone(s) of you kind readers who might be able to throw this old (53 YO) dog a bone of useful information.
    With a little bit of hope and a whole lot of thanks,
    Gorgo
    Cincinnati OH
    Dell Dimension 2400   Windows XP   External hard drives

    Once more, thanks for responding, Mimico!
    Bad news here, I'm afraid.
    The consolidation aborted because apparently a file name was too long for the copy, and there was only a puny generic message box notifying me of samesaid abort. No reference to what track(s) caused the problem. I could be all day chasing that one down. No can do.
    Needless to say, I went back to the original library file on my C: drive. Then desperation set in. I felt I had no alternative but to delete 99 3/4% of my library entries manually, leaving only those tracks that I purchased through the iTunes Store. The plan being, to also kill all existing playlists and rely on the Browser instead, once I got my track references lined up, supposedly by the following step.
    Then I did an import, pointing to the master folder on my external drive, thinking it would pick up everything underneath, per the directions in the Help file for mass imports of music.
    The import managed to pick up only about 1/7 of my collection on the external drive, even though it is all there on that drive under that folder. There may be different layers of subfolders and files under the main folder, but the predominating structure is an artist subfolder, than a CD subfolder, then the associated MP3 track files at the lowest level. Some of those CDs with that structure got picked up, many others did not. Bad result.
    Is there any alternative to manually searching for missed folders and importing them one folder at a time? That would be the biggest help to me at this stage, I'm afraid. Otherwise, I guess I have to do what needs to be done.
    Sitting in my doghouse,
    Gorgo

  • ICP Elimination rules in v11.1.2.3

    Hello Ladies and Gents, I have a question on how to write ICP elimination rules in a 6 custom dimension v11.1.2.3 application. Just to set the scene I am a 10 year plus HFM rules writer, so not someone who has just read the manual . I am currently on a project using v11.1.2.3 and against my better judgemement we are using 6 custom dimensions, What I thought was going to be a straightforward lift of existing rules I have has turned into a nightmare, namely intercompany elimination. The usual rule is to open a dataunit, identify your intercompany accounts and then reverse the IC balance into a plug account. I can get the IC balance to reverse into its original account, but it will not put the value into the plug account. The error message I get is that it doesn't recognise the custom1 dimension, the metadata custom dimension setup all ties up. My current rule is
      Call MyDataUnit.GetItemExtDim(i, vAccount, vICP, vCustom, dData)
       Dim CanEliminate
       Dim vPlug
       CanEliminate = True
       If (strComp(vICP, "[ICP None]", vbTextCompare) = 0) Then
        CanEliminate = False
       ElseIf (HS.Account.IsICP(vAccount) = False) Then
        CanEliminate = False
       ElseIf (HS.Parent.IsDescendant(HS.Parent.Member,vICP) = False) Then
        CanEliminate = False
       Else
        vPlug = HS.Account.PlugAcct(vAccount)
        If (vPlug = "") Then CanEliminate = False
       End If
       If CanEliminate Then
        dPCon = HS.Node.PCon("")
        Call HS.Con("V#[Elimination]",-1 * dPCon,"")
        Call HS.Con("V#[Elimination].C1#"&vCustom(0,1)&".A#"& vPlug,dPCon,"")
       End If
      End If
    Next
    The bolded line is the one that bombs out. I have used the new GetItemExtDim rule function. And the value that appears against vCustom(0,1) is exactly what I want it to be, but it still won't recognise it and the consolidation aborts. If I change the vPlug to vAccount then the rule runs, but that is not what I want, I need the plug account populated.
    I can't be the only one who has experienced this, What am I doing wrong??
    Paul

    Hi Paul
    I've encountered this problem once before the latest patch was applied to the environment. As far as I remember I had to pull out dimension name as well from vCustom array. So your line should go smth like this:
      Call HS.Con("V#[Elimination]." & vCustom(1,1) & "#" & vCustom(0,1) & ".A#" & vPlug,dPCon,"")
    Yet I am quite sure that nmC1 here is stored within vCustom (0,0) array cell and not (0,1). Since you say that the value of vCustom(0,1) is exactly what you want it to be, then this is probably not the case. But I would alter the line to:
      Call HS.Con("V#[Elimination]." & vCustom(1,0) & "#" & vCustom(0,0) & ".A#"& vPlug,dPCon,"")
    Hope this helps,
    Kirill

  • Using Parent Currency in HS.Exp

    Hi All,
    I need to use the <Parent Currency> value member as a SOURCE in my calculation.
    I have defined the variable "strVSource = HS.Value.IsTransCur()" and then use that variable in the right-hand side of my HS.Exp calculation
    The resulting Value member is "False" and the consolidation aborts. When using <Parent Currency> as the destination, the same setup works fine.
    Hence I can write to <Parent Currency>, but not read from <Parent Currency>...is that correct?
    Thanks

    When you want <Parent Currency> as your source value member, in which member are you as the target? That is, if you have a value condition that says
    If HS.Value.IsTransCur() = True Then
    Hs.Exp "A#xxx = A#ooo"
    End If
    This implicitly means the source is also the same value member you are in. I will add that this doesn't have to mean you are in <Parent Currency> but instead means that translation has taken place: that the source and target currencies are different. In other words, if you have a child in EUR and a parent in USD, the function HS.Value.IsTransCur() = True will be True not only for the parent currency "USD" but if the user translates the EUR base entity into GBP, the function will ALSO return True. So, if you are in [Proportion] for example, and want to read from <Parent Currency> you should use the ACTUAL currency of the source value member such as "GBP Total", and this should get what you want.

  • Consolidation rule "Aborted" on changing DefaultView from YTD to Periodic

    Hi Everyone,
    Here's my situation. I have a calculated account Current Year Earnings calculated as follows:
    Value=HS.Value.Member
    +if (Value<>"[Proportion]" and Value<>"[Elimination]" and Hs.Entity.Isbase("","")) Then+
    +Hs.Exp "A#EarningsCurrentYear=A#TotalIncome.I#[ICP Top]+A#TotalExpenses.I#[ICP Top]"+
    +end if+
    Now I found that for the month of May, this was doubling the expected value which I found out was being caused as the default view for the current scenario being YTD. Since I wanted to calculate the figure only for the month, I changed the default view to Periodic.
    After that when I ran the consolidation, it showed "Aborted" with an error code. It indicated that the error was encountered in the Sub Caculate() routine.
    What can be the reason?
    Any suggestions would be really helpful. If this does not work, how can I calculated this for the month only?
    Thanks,
    Sayantan
    PS: Data has been loaded for the Periodic member. There are no Line Items for any account.

    You cannot specify the value dimension on the left hand side of any expression. Nor can you specify Year, Period, or Entity. All of these are the "page" dimensions, which is why you have a condition for them.
    Also, I don't see how your value dimension condition would ever be true: it is not possible to be in both [Proportion] and [Elimination] at the same time. You have an "AND" operator there.

    There will be multiple errors in the log for the consolidation failure. If you dig in farther, you eventually locate one that will implicate what part of the rules has the error.
    With that said, any recent rule changes? Generally when things break, its courtesy of new functionality. If you were not the one doing the rules and no one "knows", use WinMerge on a older rules file and the current rules extract. That should at least get you a starting point.

    Hi,
    Execute "adop -status" and check for incomplete patching sessions.
    You need to complete the failed adop session or abort it using the following commands:
    adop phase=abort,cleanup cleanup_mode=full
    adop phase=fs_clone
    Those commands will take some time to complete.

  • Unable to Kill the Consolidation task for HFM application

    User is unable to kill the Consolidation task in HFM application. Consolidation process which usually takes 2 mins has been showing status as running @79% since 4-6 hrs. User ID is has the provisioning manager, lock Data and unlock data provisions in Shared Services. The stop task button in the Running Tasks list is not enabled . Our Support team has advanced user access which is not also able to stop the task. Please note Admin access is restricted and not allowed for such tasks.

    I would check the HFM Log to see if you find anything referring to locked / blocked records.
    If your HFM app is killed in the middle of consolidating or performing other activities that requires it to 'lock' a segment of memory in the database, that 'lock' is still held on those data points when the application restarts.
    If you then try to perform another consolidation and it hits one of those locked data points, it will sit there for a very long amount of time waiting for the 'lock' to clear.
    I forget the exact error message that you will find in the log AND I forget the timeout period; however, it sucks having to wait through that.
    The other possibility that comes to mind is that the consolidation really aborted and the status didn't update. (once again check the logs)

  • Error When Duplicating Consolidation Applications as Deployed Applications

    Hi All:
    When I duplicate a consolidation application as a deployed one, the following error happen:
    PLEASE HELP!
    10-13-2011 10:16:54 : Error : Failed to create destination database connection while validating tablespaces.
    10-13-2011 10:16:54 : Error : ValidateDB2TablespaceSelections : Exception : Failed to validate destination tablespaces! (-2147467259)(ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified)
    10-13-2011 10:16:54 : Warning : One or more errors occurred while trying to validate the destination tablespaces. Errors may occur during copy procedure.
    But When I duplicate a consolidation application as a new one, successed.
    Then deploy the application,also successed.

    After digging in the tech reference I found a solution of copying a creating an ASO DB as another ASO DB using MaxL. More than that, you can even convert a BSO to ASO using the same method. here is the MaxL script:
    login $1 $2;
    spool on to 'maxl_log.txt';
    create or replace application Sample2 using aggregate_storage
    comment 'aggregate storage version of Sample';
    create database Sample2.Basic2
    comment 'aggregate storage version of Sample Basic';
    create or replace outline on aggregate_storage database Sample2.Basic2
    as outline on database sample.basic;
    alter database Sample2.Basic2 initialize load buffer with buffer_id 1;
    import database Sample2.Basic2 data
    from server data_file 'c:\\hyperion\\essbase\\app\\Sample2\\Basic2\\calcdat.txt'
    to load_buffer with buffer_id 1
    on error abort;
    import database Sample2.Basic2 data from load_buffer with buffer_id 1;
    execute aggregate process on database Sample2.Basic2
    stopping when total_size exceeds 1.9;
    spool off;
    logout;
