Consolidation in multiple currencies

Hi there,
I would like to translate consolidated results in two different currencies. Let's say, for example, USD and EUR.
Do I need to create two alternative entity hierarchies whose parents def currencies are USD and EUR? Is there any other possible solutions?
Any customized solution would do the job... even if  highlight me main technical choices, avoiding to disclosing details of your implementations.
It's very useful to us because we wish to would like to maintain the opportunity to post Contribution Adjs.
PLEASE HELP!!!

I will better explain my request:
PREMISE:
No Org by Period app; YTD consolidation
Sub translation manages the convertion applying average YTD rate, opening or closing rate. Some accounts are translated at historical rate. Translation also manages the calculation of the currency translation reserve in equity.
Consolidation manages the split of equity reserves between minority and group shares. This split involves also the currency translation reserve, by debiting the "Currency Translation Reserve" account and crediting the "Currency Translation Reserve - Minority Share" account.
Users need to analyze contribution of each single legal entity (including the split effect) both in USD and EUR. In order to properly translate and consolidate figures the quickest and most reasonable solution would be that of creating two alternative hierarchies (one in USD and in EUR). However this turns into headakes when you have to post Contribution Adjs as these must be posted twice, one time in EUR and the other time in USD.
My question is:
is there a customized approach that allows me to avoid redundancy in posting Contribution Adjs and also reduce the number of alternative hierarchies? Have you ever faced similar issues? How did u solve them?
Many thanks again

  • Ability to perform Fx Translation During Consolidation for multiple group currencies

    Hi Experts,
We have a BPC 7.5 MS system with 4 group currencies USD EUR etc.    We would like to have a currency translation to all of them as a result of consolidation, at the base group level (G_NONE).
    Is this functionality possible?
Has anyone been able to do so?
Currently, we can run FX restatement, which performs the translation to the 4 reporting currencies, but when we run consolidation all results but the final top node reporting currency is deleted.
We noted the multiple currencies in the group dimension (Consoscope) G_NONE and corporate consoscopes but it did not work.  The 4 currencies are noted as "R" reporting currencies CURRENCY_TYPE
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.
    Eyal

    Hi Eyal,
Can you be more specific? Do you mean all the result is deleted? Can you provide some screenshots to explain what the symptom is and what the result you are expecting.
    Best regards,

  • Multiple currency prices for items

Where do you set up multiple currency pricing for an item.
The scenario that I have is for oil products from Shell oil. I have created an item for each product but can only set up the price in GBP on the item record purchasing tab. However the price is in different currencies eg USD and EUR depending upon which supplier site / delivery point is required.

    Hi CrashOverRide,
In our practice regarding multi-currency consolidation:
    1. We define the local currency of each small enterprise.
    2. Set up a currency conversion rules.
    3. Create a group currency where you will define what currency each of the small enterprise will be consolidated to.
    4. Set up the consolidation business rules.
The idea will be is that, first all of the small enterprise will be translated to a common currency that is defined in your group currency and then from there, the consolidation rules will apply. So depending on how many currency you want to view your consolidated data, your need to create a group currency for each.
    Hope this helps,

  • Handling multiple currencies

We have CHF as local currency key for a consolidated unit, but we use EUR as Functional/ operating currency. Unfortunately, parallel currencies have not been activated for the consolidated unit.
How does multiple currencies are handled in SEM-BCS? One suggestion is to keep this CHF currency cons unit as a separate cons group, then do curr translate from CHF to EUR for the local cons group. Using version, copy this EUR to the main cons group and then consolidate in the main group currency USD. I have been trying to configure this but users are not happy since it involves using the option of multiple currencies and multiple versions. The users are asked to enter specific parameters like group currency key and version each time and they don't like it.
Any suggestion for handling the scenario of third currency in SEM-BCS, other than Local currency and Group Currency?

    Hi Greg,
CHF is the local currency and there is only local reporting requirement which they can do from R/3 company code anyway. For some reasons, the business is using EUR as functional currency aka primary currency for that specific consolidation unit for consolidation purpose. The group currency is USD and the final consolidated report will come in USD. EUR is just an interim currency. In other words, it is not multiple group currencies reporting.
I am using the same version 100 and try to copy from CHF to EUR, using copy function. The copy function is throwing many errors. One error is asking to provide CHF to USD conversion rate and I do not understand this logic, while I have provided CHF to EUR conversion rate.
In copy function, am I required to map and also provide badi?? (I have done mapping and also source and target selection conditions except Badi).
If you have configured copy method in the past, please advise.

  • Multiple Currency Payroll Payments for one Employee

    Hello,
We have a requirement of paying one employee in multiple currencies (i.e in Local currency and USD). This means that such employee has two bank accounts, i.e. Local Currency Account and USD Account.
The costing of payroll costs is done in the local currency. Does anyone know any standard procedure for this?
P.S we are using Global Legislation
    Regards,
    Salman

    Hi Salman,
Have you tried this from Element Define window. There is functionality for Input and Output currency.
Hope it could meet your requirement.

  • Multiple currency in PO/MIRO

    Hi Friends,
In the PO, the vendor is from Japan, so the document currency is in Japan. But the freight condition currency is in MYR which we dont want to convert into JPY. Here the system converts all the condition type currencies into document corrency i.e. JPY in this case. After Goods Receipt, when I see the FI document in MIGO T-Code, all the posting
comes in JPY and when i change the postings into local currency i.e. into MYR, there is a difference of RM0.02(2 sens) in the posting. As the freight condition value is in MYR, we dont want system to change it to JPY as freight charge not relevant for PO printout. Because os the conversion factor, a podting having difference of 2 sens is done.
At the time of Invoice Posting through MIRO T-Code, all the charges are converted into JPY irrespective of their actual currency mentioned in the PO. Inside "Simulation" tab I can see the delivery/material cost in only 2 currencies i.e. JPY and MYR. I cant see the currency in USD as one of my delivery charge in PO is in USD. My invoice comes in respective  urrencies as per PO. Please advise how to post invoice in multiple currencies as per the currency mentioned in PO.
    Thanks & Regards
    Satya

    Hi,
Document currency of PO will be single and all the condition type values are converted to the document currency.
For condition types where currency conversion is required, please goto config (T code M/06), select the condition type and under Control data 2 tab, tick currency conversion. This will remove rounding of errors in case of multiple currecies.
    Hope this info helps

  • Decimal Places in Purchasing (multiple currencies)

Is it possible to change the price field to accept more than 2 decimal places in purchasing documents (contracts/PO) in a live production system for multiple currencies ?

    Hi Raja,
No, if the said currencies already have transactions since, in SAP  the values are stored without decimals. This the warning of SAP
<b></b>In a productive system, you must not delete the currencies in use or change the decimal places. This could make amounts in documents already posted incorrect or invalid.<b></b>.
But you can denote in another way viz.
    1 Kg of material X = 0.012 / Kg
can be denoted as 100 kgs = 1.2

  • Plan, Actual & Commitment Report in Multiple Currency

    Dear SAP gurs,
Is there any report where I can see Plan, Actual & Commitments in Multiple currency (see below format). In standard SLAR reports, values are displayed in one currency at a time either I can see in INR or USD.
Here each WBS is planed in USD as well as in INR. If PO is raised in USD, then actual value should be shown against planning done in USD.
    WBS Elem     Plan          Actual          Commitment
USD     INR     USD     INR     USD     INR
    WBS1.1     3000$     1000INR     500$               500INR
    WBS2.2          50000INR          10000INR          300INR
    Thanks,
    Venkat

    Dear Venkat
Each of the views in the hierarchy reports (such as 12KST1C) can
only contain values for one currency at a time (because totals for
multiple currencies would not make sense).
Since only one currency can be displayed at a time, the Trans.currency view is not meant to show values in multiple currencies; rather, the Trans.currency view only provides a reference to the user of the currency involved in the Plan and
Actual postings. For example, if the actual postings had been in
    mixed currencies like:
Doc. date  Cost elem.    Value COCurr  CO.Cr      Value TranCurr  TCrcy
       01-07-2007 911010000                 800   XXX                        1700  YYY
       01-07-2007 911010000              3,000   XXX                        3,000  XXX
Then the Trans.currency view would have contained:
    Trans.currency         Plan             Actual
      YYY                            0             800
      XXX                         3,700           3,000
      Result                     3,700           3,800
You can always switch between currencies in the report Settings ->
Currency, but only one will be displayed at once.
I hope this explanation helps you to understand the standard system
    behaviour.

  • Financial Plan in Multiple Currency

    Hello,
In the HTML screens I want to create Budget Lines using Multiple Currencies. This means create a line in USD for a certain Task and for the same Task create also an Euro line. I've checked the Multiple Currency option at the Financial and Workplan also added each Currency to the Work - and Financial Plan. Still I'm not able to enter Budgte Lines in other than the functional currency USD. Can someone help me out on this one or send information how this functionality has to be ste up in Release 12?

First you need to do setup for the Multiple Currencies under "Plan Settings" Tab of Planning Options. Check "Plan Amounts in Multiple Currencies" check box and in the "Currency" Tab select the different currencies like EURO and give the rate.
Now go to your Budget Lines and add 1 budget line using your default USD currency. Now select that Budget Line which you have created using your Default Project Currency and also select "Add Currency: EURO" from the Drop Down List of "Select Planning Elements" and press GO button. This will create another Budget Line using EURO Currency. Now enter the Quantity & Cost and see the difference of Cost Calculation.
I hope it's clear for you.
    Regards,
    Khan.

  • Reporting Multiple Currency Rates

    Hi
Wonder if anyone has completed a report or know's a way of creating a currency report with more than one translation rate, ideally in SAP standard reports (Painter, Query or Drill-down etc).
The report is from PCA and we have GBP as the main currency. We need to submit a report in EUR with 5 (yes 5!) different exchange rates on the report.
The report layout is as follows:
    Act Act Fcst Fcst Bud
    Mth Ytd Mth Ytd Ytd
Each column has a different rate Translated from GBP into EUR.
We would ideally like to maintain the exchange rates in the standard way, so we can default them in the report, or allow the users to enter the individual rates in the selection screen.
    Any help would be appreciated
    Thanks
    Bryn

    Hi Shivaji,
If Kenya is you Business Area and you want all reporting at Business Area level. You need to do the following:
1.Balance sheet of kenya branch is to be prepared in INR: In OBY6 for your company code check the box Business Area in Fin Statements and make Business Area as mandatory field for all your transaction.
2.day to day transactions at kenya is to be at their currency (KES) only as per statutory requirement in kenya .
While doing transaction the transaction currency will be KES and maintain Exchange rate in OB08
3.Receipt or payment may be in KES or USD
    4. sale to nearby countries will be invoiced in their currencies & payment made by them will be in their currency or USD.
Please use the concept of Multiple Currencies.

  • Multiple currency conversion via one variable possible?

    Hello,
    following problem:
I have a report which contains different currencies (e.g. EUR, CHF, etc.).
In this report we have different calculated key figures (on cube level).
Each key figure have different currency conversion (maintained in rrc1).
Question: Is it possible, when the user starts (execute) a report one variable
pops up e.g. display all key figures in USD <b>all different currency conversions will be reflected</b>? In the system I don't know where.
    Any idea?

Ok, I find a solution by myself.
In the AdminInfo object is a property called MultiCurrencyCheck. When this is set to cc_NoMessage, I can save the journal entry.
If you want to change this setting in Business One:
Select Administration --> System Initialization --> Document Settings --> Per Document tab --> Journal Entry tab
There is a check box "Allow  multiple currency transactions". The description is wrong and it should say "Block multiple currency transactions", like the other. When it is unchecked, I can make multiple currency transaction otherwise not.

  • Report Painter - Multiple Currencies

    Hi,
I would like to know on how you create multiple currencies in report painter. We have a requirement
whereby we have 3 different columns:
Current Year (Actuals)  ---> Exchange rate Type X
    Prior Year  (Actuals)
    Plan Current Year  -
    > Exchange rate Type Y
My question is how can i create a report that will enable me to prompt for exchange rate of Actuals and Plan data  as  we would like the user to enter different exchange rate type for actual & plan.
    Appreciate your help.

    Hi,
I'm afraid, it's not possible via Report Painter (to have different columns calculated by different rate); you'll have to develop a report in ABAP for this.

  • Material Ledger Multiple Currency

    Hello,
We have  a problem with ML - multiple currency.
I am working in a retail company and they dont have product costing. they are using material ledger only for multiple currency.
but they never run ckmlcp. $ is company code currency and EUR is group.
here is the problem, we bought something for 15 $ (10 EUR) and after sometime the currency rate changes and when we tried to sell or transfer the material for 15 $ this time system calculates the euro side as 11 EUR. we dont have a problem with $ but our COPA reports with EUR shows this 1 EUR as loss or revenue ?
    to make it short
    buy for    15 $ (=10 EUR)
sell for   15 $ (= 11 EUR) ---> 1 EUR stays and shown as loss or revenue in COPA reports with EUR ???
i believe if we run ckmlcp system revaluates the euro side with the new currency rate but i am not sure.
One more question  can we run ckmlcp if we dont have product costing ???
    thank you..

    Hi,
I was confused at first. The multi-currency capabilities are suited to keep the historic curency information and make material valuation in parallel currencies independent from the current exchange rate
    So in your example:
buy for 15 $ (=10 EUR)          --> 10 EUR wil become the material valuation
sell for 15 $ (= 11 EUR)       --> stock value will be reduced by 10 EUR (not 11 as would the current exchange rate suggest)
But you are right for the sales price ori the CO-PA revenue in EUR. This will still use the current exchange rate and would lead to the 1 EUR profit because you have the material on stock valuated with 10 EUR but sell it with 11 EUR price.
Material ledger would not prevent the profit/loss and also not counter-post it, even if you used CKMLCP. The actual price would even after ML closing be 10 EUR and no revaluation of consumption would be necessary. The sales prices is an 'external' decision and normally not determined by material valuation, therfore the sales price will not be adapted by material ledger calculations.
Sorry, I have no proposal how to get rid of that. Search ratther in CO-PA currency conversion than in ML.
    best regards,
                        Udo
