Consolidation Issue

Dear BPC Experts,
We have following questions with respect to consolidation.
1. do we look at individual balance sheet after running consolidation by selecting scope as group instead of S_None?
2. In which situation we use the All formula in M-B-M and Destination All Account in business rules?
Thanks

Hi Rashmi,
Just a add a little bit more detail to what Arnold has already confirmed about #1 above.
Yes, we would look at the Trial Balance, Balance Sheet and Income statement at the relevant scope level.
You need to set the context correctly to view the fully validated results (balanced trial balance). For example, if you select the top consolidating group (CG1 for example), you need to select the top member for audit trail and entity and relevant closing flow member for the flow dimension etc. Same holds good for your other dimensions such as INTERCO and PROFIT_CTR (if you have this).
Thanks,
Sreeni

  • Consolidation issue after Roll-out

    Hello Experts,
We are rolling out ECC 6.0 to Singapore.
Scenario - India is selling to Singapore as a customer. India has ECC 6.0 and solution has to be rolled out to Singapore in June 2010. Singapore financial period is starting from April 2010onwards.
From April till Go-live for Singapore, India will still keep selling the goods to Singapore and Singapore will be purchasing from india.
After Go-live, Singapore will use ECC 6.0. Till then, Singapore is treated as a customer to india and India is supplying goods to Singapore.
During cut-over, how can we migrate the April to June data of Singapore?
Since it is not a legal entity and treated as customer in India system, how can we knock off the financial entries pertaining to Purchases and Sales done by India over Singapore from April to June.
I repeat that we cannot show the cross company transactions since Singapore does not have the system and from Apr to June, India is still selling to SG as customer and we deem that issue will appear in Consolidation pertaining to-
Knocking off - Purchase & Sales for cross company txns
Knocking off - Vendors and Customers for Cross company
Sales entries for India and Purchase entry for Singapore during consolidation from Apr till June (quarterly consolidation).
Please let me know if anyone has done this before or any ideas how to achieve it.
    regards
    ravi

    Hi Ravi
did you manage to figure out this as I am having similiar issue where my management wants to see intercompany tansactions after roll out.
    Thanks

  • US Elims - Legal Consolidation issue

    Hi,
We are currently running US eliminations and we want to do legal consolidation. After consolidation all the records are apprearing in the Consolidation scopes defined in the scope dimensions other than my US_Elim transaction which appear in No Scope "S_NONE". I have defined US_ELIM as a member of Audit Trail dimension with Data type = 'A'.
My initial data is loaded from BW in scope S_NONE. To see my consolidated financial statements, I am having an issue bringing both S_NONE (for US Elims)  and S_* for my consolidated results as this will double up my results.
Can you please help me out with this?
    Sincerely,
    Nicky

    Please help!!!

  • COnsolidation issues

A couple of my dimensions are set the following way and I would like to know how it would affect the parent member values
FOr example one of them is an account dimension and the other building
the account dimension is set up that the accounts I am using have a consolidation of none
    Accounts
    |
    |
    | ------------Account1 (~)
    |
    |
    |-------------Account2 (~)
    Properties
    |
    |COuntry level(+)
    |
    |
    |---------------------CIty level(+)
    |
    |
    |
    |------------------------------------------Building(+)
we are writing values to the country level, for example inflation rate
Here's the issue I am experiencing
I had to turn on SET AGGMISSG ON; for a calc to update the parent members when leaf level has no values
BUt this calc had an affect on the accounts. My country level data is overwritten base4d on the bottom level value
    agg
Since my accounts dimension is set to no consolidation , shouldn't the agg calcs have no affect?

when you are loading data at country top level, the rollup will replace the value with the sum of its children as the children have + consolidation.
so if you dont want to overwrite the data at country level, you should remove consolidation to the children of country.

  • Library consolidation issue

I notice scrolling througf my new iPod that some artists are listed twice. What I find is under one heading all of the albums are listed with associated tracks. When I look at the duplicate artist heading, I find one or more songs listed from an album. When I go back and look under the other heading (the one that has all the albums/songs listed) for the associated album and those specific songs, I find they are missing.
When I look at my library on iTunes, the songs I mentioned are under the artist heading and listed in the correct album with correct information. However, they are listed separate from all the other tracks in the album.
Anyone else have this problem or have suggestions on how to determine the origin of this problem? Thanks, Mike

When you download song, sometimes the Artist name is not the same (could have a space of letter different).
Highlite the songs from your library, right click and select Get Info. if the Artist name appears in the box then all songs are listed under the same name. if it is blank, one is spelled different. type in the correct spelling and click OK.
    Hope that helps.

  • ITunes Library Consolidation Issue

I am trying to consolidate my iTunes library to an external drive, but every time I try to run the "Consolidate Library" function iTunes freezes up. I have already migrated the media files over to the external drive, but need iTunes to recognize that they are located at that location as opposed to where they originally were. Does anyone know a way that this can be done piece-meal or if there's an alternative way to relocate an entire iTunes library?
    Thanks in advance.

ed2345, I misspoke. I should have said I have already placed a duplicate copy of the files on the external drive (the original files are still in place) and repointed my media files location to the external drive. what I'm trying to do is basically re-point my current itunes library to the files on the external drive as opposed to the files on the internal drive. When I try to organize my library, itunes freezes. When I try to consolidate my library (which is what I thought was supposed to help accomplish this) itunes freezes.
I'm working with about 45 GB of music files, and I don't know if the size is what is causing iTunes to crash, or if it is something else. Sorry for the confusion.

  • BPC 7.0 NW Consolidation questions..

Can someone share some information on following BPC consolidation issues..
1..Currency translation difference in consolidation has to be posted to CTA ( Currency Translation Account) . Where to inform the system to post the CTA to the designated CTA account?
    2.Opening balanceloading BPC consolidation...
For how many years it is normally loaded?  What is the ideal opening balance loading strategy in BPC. Is there any good document on this
    3.Security Administration in BPC..
I am trying to read a good document on how to define users /security in the BPC 7NW . Can someone sent any document link or some good suggestion..

    hi Naveen,
I saw you wrote knowledgeable about the Currency Conversion / Currency Translation table settings. We are using Currency Translation with destination account; and works fine with each run.
The ONLY problem we are having / or miss understanding from incomplete BPC 7.0 Documentation is. Why is the Currency Translation Adjustment account not cleard before calculating the adjustment difference between accounts. ... Currently, every adjustment (triggered by every CC run) is added to the CTA account, on top of the last difference. So if you run the CC 10 times a day, the adjustment amount will be posted 10 times. even trhough the total of adjustment may not change during the day.
This seems to be not the use which we need for our requirement, which is to point out the CTA at any given time on the spot. ... hence clearing the CTA before currency conversion, would at least bring the right result every time. (which is the opposit of the current outcome which ist Total CTA: Initial CTA + CTA + CTA + CTA + n x CTA ...)
Any thoughts?  --- thanks a lot in advance, Max

  • GL: YTD Global Consolidation in 11.0.3? Help!

hey all. our CFO has a problem with the way the 'standard' oracle consolidation handles multi-currency sets of books. when you revalue, translate and consolidate on a monthly basis you lose the year-to-date forex visibility and exposure. basically, it doesn't calculate the gains and losses correctly. i'm sure a lot of people have run into this as well, and i want to know how/if you've been able to work around it? if so, what is the 'improved' process and how does it work? i've thought about MRC and reporting books and all that good stuff, but what i'd really like to do is upgrade to 11.5.9 which has YTD consolidation capabilities. we're slated to do that sometime next year. anything i can do in the meantime?
    thanks!

Were you able to upgrade and find a solution to your consolidation issue? If so, please share it with me.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Looks like you are using 11.1.2.1 version??
If so i am facing the same issues and i have already raised this issue with oracle support team, have not heard back from them.
We recently upgraded from 11.1.2 to 11.1.2.1 and we are facing lot of issues and one of them is consolidation issues.
And let me know if you have tired the below solution:
    Applies to:
Hyperion Financial Management - Version: 11.1.1.3.00 and later [Release: 11.1 and later ]
Information in this document applies to any platform.
    Symptoms
Consolidation hangs at 100% for a specific Scenario/Year POV. The consolidation does not complete and the hsvdatasource process eventually has to be killed.
The Parent has CN status, whereas all its children have OK status, from Entity currency to Contribution total.
The following error is generated in the Hsveventlog log:
    File: DataTransactions.cpp Version: 11.1.1.3.50.2839 Line: 3163
Error: (-2147213696)(0x80041E80)(An unknown error has occurred in the HsvDSData2 object.)
If the UseConsolidationRules are disabled, the consolidation then completes.
    Cause
The database schema is missing tables for the affected POV, scenario x and year yyyy:
    APPNAME_ETX_x_yyyy
    APPNAME_RTD_x_yyyy
    APPNAME_RTS_x_yyyy
Two of three tables, RTS and RTD, are used if ConsolidateRules is set to Y or R, and this is the direct cause of the error message generated. It is not known whether these tables ever existed or have been inadvertently deleted.
    Solution
Restore Financial Management (HFM) repository database from the backup, if the missing tables exist in a prior backup. If no suitable backup exists, contact Oracle Support. A script may be provided by Oracle Development to create the missing tables and corresponding sequence and indexes.
    Regards,
    Bhargav

  • Consolidatiing issues (I think)

Hi, I have my songs stored on my computer upstairs and all the files have permissons to be viewed and altered over a network. My laptop is pointed to those files as it's main library and anything I import onto the laptop is stored upstairs.
However, if I update a podcast up stairs (and I've yet to import any new songs) it doesn't show up down stairs. How do I get my Itunes downstairs to recheck what's on upstairs so they both show the same? Is this a consolidation issue as when I consolidate I get
Copying music failed The disk could not be read from or written to
    Toshiba   Windows XP

It is difficult unless you tell us what format the movies are in and what player you are using?
iTunes library will not really work. The TC is not a Media Player or Media related in any way at all.
But if you store movies in one of many different formats that are available and use a player on the ipad that can read and play those files, it can work.
So we cannot help you without info.. what source are the movies from? What format are they in? What player are you using?
    How flexible are you?
Can anyone recommend what I need
In the apple world with itunes you need a computer (Mac or Windows) running iTunes with a disk available to it big enough to hold your library. And some sort of router to connect the ipad and the computer in the network.
Apple intends you to use itunes in homeshare.

    Preparing to Upgrade
As a best practice, IronPort recommends preparing for an upgrade by taking the following steps:
    1. Save the XML configuration file off of the appliance.
    2. Suspend the listeners.
    3. Drain the mail queue and the delivery queue.
    4. Re-enable the listeners after you upgrade.

I haven't upgraded to 5.5.0 yet, but I was very excited to learn about end-user whitelists and blacklists, which is something we'd been pushing for since we bought our Ironports. Unfortunately, it looks like it's being implemented in a way that makes it impossible for me to deploy at this time.
We have two C350s, and would need the whitelists and blacklists to appear on each box. It appears that I could do this by exporting the database from one machine, transferring it to the other, and then importing it. However, this appears to ONLY be able to be done via the GUI.
This is a showstopper for me, because I do not want to have to log into the Ironport every day to import and export the databases - I would want to automate it. I talked to technical support, and it appears that there is no way to do this via the CLI.
My feature request is this: please consider adding a command that would allow me to remotely force the database to be dumped, and another command to import the database.
Ideally, it would be something like:
    safelistconfig dump
    safelistconfig import
If that was available, I would make my users a lot happier with this feature.

  • ITunes keeps creating duplicate m4p files for existing m4a files

I noticed in 10.0 that I had duplicates of many of my purchased music, an m4a and an m4p. I tried removing the m4p files through iTunes, and through Finder. I have used the Display Exact Duplicate to identify some of them and then removed them.
But after a period of time, they just all come back. And iTunes isn't downloading them to replace them, because I would have noticed the downloading in iTunes. Where are these coming from? Why can't I remove them permanently? Or is this a consolidation issue? iTunes 10.1 doesn't resolve the issue either. Anyone else seeing this?

M4P files do take slightly more processor power (because it has to descrypt them as it plays them), but the amount should be very small indeed. Unless you're running on the edge already, it shouldn't make that much of a difference. <</div>
The system is not very close to the edge. I think the problem has nothing to do with the extra computation required to decrypt .m4p files. Rather, I think it's related to the buffer sizes iTunes and/or QuickTime use with .m4ps v. the sizes they use with other files, combined with how the decryption is distributed among the applications' threads.
It's possible that you could see that sort of behavior from overclocking. If you are overclocking, might want to scale the speed back a tad. <</div>
I'm not overclocking. Overclocking is, though, a great way to induce every kind of flaky behavior.

  • BW work experience before SEM-BPS?

    Hello,
I am a SAP newbie.  I have 5 years of Object-Oriented design and development experience using C++/Java.  I also have a MBA and have worked in product management/marketing for enterprise software products (customer requirements gathering and defining next version of product, sales support on closing deals) and in strategy developoment.
My goal is to work in SAP-SEM, leveraging my technical and business background.  I am currently taking training in BW as  was told that I need to understand BW in depth before working in SEM.
I am wondering whether it is required/recommended that I work on one or more client projects in BW before I take up a job in SEM-BPS or another SEM module in order to be effective in a SEM job (after taking training in the appliable SEM module) or whether I can directly take up a SEM job without having to work in BW (but getting trained in BW and practicing the module on my own).
    Thank you for any advice.
    Sunil

    Hi Sunil,
I suggest you go thoroughly through the standards related to accounting and consolidation:
    IFRS 3  - Business Combinations
IAS 1 - Presentation of Financial Statements
IAS 7 - Cash Flow Statements
    IAS 14 - Segment Reporting
    IAS 18 - Revenue
IAS 21 - The Effects of Changes in Foreign Exchange Rates
IAS 27 - Consolidated and Separate Financial Statements
IAS 28 - Investments in Associates
IAS 31 - Interests in Joint Ventures
IAS 32 - Financial Instruments: Disclosure and Presentation
IAS 36 - Impairment of Assets
You should understand some basic accounting rules, like any profits/revenues/gains are always credit turnovers (negative in BCS), not only in the balanse sheet, but also in P&L etc.
Don't know any particular books that would be useful (certainly, there are some, I just don't know).
From the courses, it's without doubt SEM240, and probably AC660.
And I'm sure that in your neighborhood you'll be able to find some courses related to consolidation issues provided by Big Four firms. Might be very useful.
    Best regards,
    Eugene

  • FCP Crashes when working with un-rendered stills

Hello my FCP project (6.0.3) crashes often when I am dealing with unrendered stills, or even clicking through a list of stills in my browser. (I am cutting an animatic with thousands of stills...)
I have tried switching computers and trashing prefs, but I still get the crashes.
Anybody have an idea to what's going on here?
    Thanks

I can empathize with it@soy. I've been working with FCP professionally for 4 years now and have had various problems with losing clip attributes, whacky consolidation issues, multi-clips losing sync between systems, and bugs in reconnecting data that has somehow "forgotten where it lives".
I have posted about several of these issues myself, however I don't think the forum is ignoring these issues, Apple just hasn't fixed them.
I will try going through my sequences looking for extraneous opacity keyframes. I use opacity a great deal with my stills and always have the overlay visible in my sequences.
Does anyone know if using a matte on top of your timeline could cause crashes?
