Consolidation Monitor- Translate Currency

Hi
Would like to know which one is controlling the Translate pop up screen in Consolidation Monitor:
When I am trying to execute Translate I get the following Dimensions:
Category:
Time:
Entity:
Reporting Currency:
Rate Entity:
Where as it should be :
Category:
Time:
Scope:
Rate Entity:
I do not understand why I am getting Reporting Currency and Entity while Scope is missing.
Appreciate any inputs on this.
Regards
SAP BOSS

Reporting Currency: If you selected a base entity, this dimension is displayed, enabling you to select the currency in which you want to run the translation.
Rate EntityIf you selected a base entity, this dimension is displayed, enabling you to select the Rate Entity in which the exchange rates to be used are stored.
This is due to the above factor. Would like to know where exactly base entity is getting selected.

  • Consolidation in multiple currencies

    Hi there,
I would like to translate consolidated results in two different currencies. Let's say, for example, USD and EUR.
Do I need to create two alternative entity hierarchies whose parents def currencies are USD and EUR? Is there any other possible solutions?
Any customized solution would do the job... even if  highlight me main technical choices, avoiding to disclosing details of your implementations.
It's very useful to us because we wish to would like to maintain the opportunity to post Contribution Adjs.
    PLEASE HELP!!!

I will better explain my request:
    PREMISE:
No Org by Period app; YTD consolidation
Sub translation manages the convertion applying average YTD rate, opening or closing rate. Some accounts are translated at historical rate. Translation also manages the calculation of the currency translation reserve in equity.
Consolidation manages the split of equity reserves between minority and group shares. This split involves also the currency translation reserve, by debiting the "Currency Translation Reserve" account and crediting the "Currency Translation Reserve - Minority Share" account.
Users need to analyze contribution of each single legal entity (including the split effect) both in USD and EUR. In order to properly translate and consolidate figures the quickest and most reasonable solution would be that of creating two alternative hierarchies (one in USD and in EUR). However this turns into headakes when you have to post Contribution Adjs as these must be posted twice, one time in EUR and the other time in USD.
    My question is:
is there a customized approach that allows me to avoid redundancy in posting Contribution Adjs and also reduce the number of alternative hierarchies? Have you ever faced similar issues? How did u solve them?
    Many thanks again

  • FDM/ERPi 11.1.2.2 - Able to load EBS Translated Currency?

We are currently running Hyperion 11.1.2.1 in our PROD environment. We have Hyperion 11.1.2.2 loaded in our DEV environment. When looking at the ERPi data load rules in 11.1.2.2, it appears that we could pull the translated currency from Oracle EBS and not just the functional currency. This would be useful in our environment. I've looked thru the online documentation for 11.1.2.2 and it still states that ERPi can only pull the functional currency. Is this correct? If so, then what purpose is the Currency Type field on the ERPi data load rule source filter menu?
    Thanks.
    Terri T.

Actually, with 11.1.2.2, you do now have the ability to load Translated Currency from EBS. I'm doing it right now for a client with Hyperion FDM and ERPi 11.1.2.2 and Oracle EBS R12. The "Functional Only" limitation in ERPi was only for 11.1.2.1
When creating a new Data Load Rule, select Currency Type = "Translated". Once you select "Translated", another box appears below it where you enter the Currency Code to translate into (assuming this is USD for you). Run the Data Load Rule and you're good to go.
Another FYI: This functionality is not listed in the 11.1.2.2 ERPi Admin Guide. It still has the old 11.1.2.1 information and does not list anything on the Currency Type and Currency Code option , hence the likely confusion and me having to prove it to myself first :)
    Hope this helps.

  • Consolidation monitor

    Hi Experts,
I have a problem with the consolidation monitor. The standard BCS content was activated and the customization was completed. When i run the consolidation monitor, there is no hierachy displayed but the sequence of task heading columns are there.  is there any thing that I missed from consolidation workbench? The master data for the consoloidation unit is created in BCS.
    Appreciate your help and time.
    Thank you.

    hi Eugene,
    Thank you for the suggestions.
    - ConsUnits hierarchy.-> This is checked and it is defined in Work bench..
    - Tasks hierarchy with tasks assigned.-> Tasks hierarchies are created and respective methods are assigned. Here my question is, should i need to assign the task methods to consolidation units during the customization process? If yes where shall i do it please?
    - You are trying to see the monitor in the same version and year/period.-> yes this has been checked already
    - Cons frequency for versions combinations is set.-> Yes
Actually I am able to see the tasks in the column headings but not the cons unit hierarchies. This seems to be very strange issue. Any suggestions will be really appreciated.
    Thanks.

    System Response
Task cannot be executed in period 001.
    Procedure
If you still want to execute task 001001 in period 001, you need to use period categories that contain period 001 in the customizing settings of the task when you assign a method.
Here I am trying to collect data using Load from Data Stream, I have defined the method and I am able to test the same in consolidation workbench
But the same does not work in consolidation monitor
    why??

  • Can we translate currency from Non LC to any RptCurrency

    Hi All
we are working on BPC 7.0 SP05.
Can we traslate currency from Non local currency to any other reporting currency
For Ex: Translating from EUR to USD . Where EUR is not the LC ( i mean its the Currency_type proper for that Entity)
We can translate currency from Local to any Rptcurrency/ Group currency.
    thanks in advance
    AK

    Hi AK,
Well, that is certainly an interesting situation!
You can find the currency conversion code under package UJ in SE80. It is under the "Table Driven Logic" sub-package (which I think is UJT, but I don't really remember). If you put a breakpoint in the currency conversion code and maintain the debug user mappings on the .NET server, you should be able to debug.
However, you can configure this scenario using the normal currency conversion business rules, at least if you only have one reporting currency. It would involve using a different rate type for expense accounts (AVGEXP, perhaps, rather than just AVG), then maintaining currency conversion business rules for AVGEXP that dictate that the LC value should be copied to the reporting currency value directly (COPY_LC) rather than multiplied by the avg rate (AVG).
If this situation is not the case for all entities, you can use the FX Type property of the entity to allow you to maintain one set of rules for normal entities where both sales and expenses are recorded in LC and another set of rules for entities where this situation occurs.
Alternatively, you could maintain AVGEXP rate type accounts with the AS_IS rule and then simply load the expense values directly into the reporting currencies. These accounts will then not be translated. If you want to translate USD to EUR for just these accounts (for example), you could do this with a script logic and LOOKUPs into the rate cube.
    Hope that helps,
    Ethan

  • Consolidation Monitor - SEM BCS

    Hi all,
is there the posibility of simulating a Manual Posting in a custom report (e.g. using BAPI, FM, ect..)
I'm new in SEM, but analist has told me that Manual Posting is a standard functionality in Consolidation Monitor.
In my report after selecting some data I have to do some manual posting with them...
    thanks,

  • Can the task groups in consolidation monitor be scheduled?

    Hi,
Can the task groups in consolidation monitor be scheduled?
    If yes, please advise.
    Tq
    Regard, Renee.

It can be accomplished using program UCBATCH00 or UCBATCH01.
I've used UCBATCH00 in several cases.
These programs require variants for each task, version, period and year combination. And, each variant requires a "sub-variant". The sub-variants are not transported and must be created in each system manually.

    Hi Thomas,
    Thanks for prompt reply.
I checked the link,do the pie chart would show the errors and warning only.
I need to have all status management (pending, errors, complete etc).Is there any mechanism where we

  • FSG reports - Entered and translated currency (11i)

    Hi guys,
This is the problem. I want to generate a report in my functional currency which is LKR (Sri Lankan Rupees) with a seperate column in the same report for transaction that have been entered in the foreign currency (USD/GBP).
The account assignments are such that journals are entered in LKR and USD/GBP to most of the account combinations. I defined the 1st column as LKR (in the Balance Control region)and didnt attach a Control Value. I defined the second column as USD (in the balance control region) and gave the control value as 1.
Afterwards in the report definition, under control values i gave 1, USD, Entered Currency and ran the report.
In the output, the second column which was defined as USD in the balance control gave the correct results. But the values in the first column gave zero values. I'm assuming this is because the Control Value defaulted to colomn one as well.
The ideal result in column one should be an aggregate of LKR entered balances and USD translated balances. How do i achieve this?

  • Consolidating in another currency

Our main entity hierarchy has base entities in a number of currencies, but all parents are USD. We have a need to translate and consolidate the same base data using the prior year's currency rates.
The translation of base entities at the new rate is working fine, with the data stored in Value member "USDPY" instead of "USD". I was hoping that if I set a grid POV to value member "USDPY" HFM would consolidate the data into value member "USDPY" using the new rates. Instead, it consolidates the parents at the "USD" rate.
We are aware that we could have an alternative hierarchy with all new parents having a parent currency of "USDPY", but we hate the idea of creating all of the new entities. It would be especially troublesome in writing reports or Smartview queries with columns for "USD" and "USDPY" with entities as the rows; each of the columns would have different parent entities for the rows.
Is there any way to make this work with the original pattern and parent entities?

Two options to do this would be: 1) Use an alternate scenario or 2) Use a custom dimension. You'd need a scenario (or custom member) for each alternate rate you want to use i.e. Prior Year. In option one you can write rules to copy data from your Actual (or Budget) scenario into your Act_at_Prior scenario. In option two, you'll need some additional rules to do the calc into the new base member. The driving factor of which option to use would be timing/availability of the data. In addition, if this is just a once a year or one off request, you could make a copy of the app, use it for the reports, then delete it.

  • FXTrans Script does not clear previously translated currencies

    Good morning Experts!
On Page 4 of the Document named "How to Configure Limited Currency
Translation" that was provided to me by SAP Support, with regards to the FXTrans Script, it states "The
translation process first determines what rates and currencies need to
be processed. It then clears any previous data that was generated by
earlier FXTrans processes for the same category and time scope as the
    current run."
This is broken. The MultiCurrencyTranslation process is not clearing
out previous data at all. It's simply appending additional data each
time the process is run.  Has anyone else seen this issue?  I've run the process numerous times and our European revenue has doubled and tripled and quadrupled.
Is there a way to resolve this?
    Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Sean

    Sean,
    There is simple solution.
You can use  CLEAR DESTINATION statement in the logic script.
As you know, this will clear destination so you should be careful to use this but it will clear destination and will write data.
I think it will solve your issue.
    Thank you.
