Consolidation on Quarterly and Monthly Frequency
Hi Team,
Can you suggest how to go about consolidation scenario, which has monthly and quarterly consolidation frequency. The scenario is whole group is consolidated on quarterly basis and sub group wants to be consolidated on monthly basis.

In this case it may be necessary to consolidate all on a monthly basis.
The tasks may differ between monthly and quarterly consolidation, but I am not aware of a way to consolidate different cons groups monthly and others only quarterly.

Price conversion base on billing frequency and price frequency
We have a business scenario - an unlimited subscription billed annually, price condition record set monthly, i.e. for subscription for product for one month cost £100, and bill annually. We need to have automatic price conversion to achieve subscription price of : 12 x £100 = £1200.
We set up a yearly billing frequency, and monthly price frequency, added this matching entry in IMG-> maintain billing procedures for subscriptions. Our pricing structure (key combination) is: publication/edition/price frequency, £100 for price frequency "monthly". Then we created a subscription with yearly billing frequency, and expect the price to be 12 X £100 = £1200. However, we could not see this conversion work. The order just simply retrieve £100 price based on the coniditon record with access to publication/edition/price frequency (value "monthly" is retrieved in access sequence to find condition record).
Based on SAP help document, this functionality should be standard (attached), but it is not working.
Pleaes advice how to make this happen? Anything i set up in config or price condition record that is wrong? Many thanks.

The price frequency is used to record subscription prices in the master data for conditions. The price freqnecy for which a price is maintained can differ from the billing frequency of the subscription. An automatic conversion takes place during pricing.Hi,
Maintain price frequency = 1 Month and billing frequency = 12 mnths.
Then assign price freq. to billing freq.
In ur case i think both price freq. and billing freq. are 1 Month.

Hi,
I want to find the month ago and year ago in obiee repository.I have measure column 'Sum(Sales)' and time hierarchy with year,month and date level. Note that I may not have data for all the dates since for some days I may not have any sales at all. If I use Ago function in repository with measure and month level, I am not getting result which I expected.
Please point me to correct directions.
Edited by: 961013 on Oct 1, 2012 7:42 AMIt sounds like you are on the right track. The lack of some fact records for specific dates should not matter. The Time Series Functions in the RPD are totally reliant on the time dimension being setup correctly, so I would first suggest checking the time dimension (hierarchy) setup. A common problem is with level-based keys. Check that keys have been defined correctly at each hierarchy level (except the Grand Total level); make sure that you have a sequential chronological key* defined at each dimension level, primary and drill down keys have been defined at each level (as required) and the grand total level has been correctly flagged. Don't forget, the dimension needs to be flagged as a time dimension too! There is plenty of guidance on the web about setting up and using time dimensions if you need more detail.
* If you think about this laterally, the time series functions need to know how to work out what a measure value was x periods ago. Periods could be years, months, weeks, quarters; as defined by the level variable in the time series function. So, based on a prompted period, say Mar-2012, the BI server does not have any inbuilt calendar logic that knows that two periods ago it was Jan-2012. Our calendar could be defined using some strange period names e.g JN10-11, FB10-11, MR11-12 etc. We need to tell the BI server how these periods are sequentially (or chronalogically) related. This is where the chronological keys come in which we define in the dimension.
Also, ensure that the aggregation method of the base measure is Sum.
Check the syntax you are using for the time series function:-
AGO(measure, time dimension level, number of period(s) ago) e.g. AGO(Core."Fact - Project Cost".Cost, Core."Date - Fiscal Calendar"."Fiscal Period", 1)
Do you get any RPD consistency check errors? Have you created a logical join between the fact and the dimension tables in the business model?
Finally, have you looked at the physical SQL being generated to get some pointers? You can do this by ensuring that the log level variable is set appropriately to display physical SQL in the query logs (e.g. level 2).

We will need to set up the QTD and YTD frequencies in the planning application. We have decided not to use DTS due to the reporting limitations.
Aside from the obvious of setting up a period dimension member for each month frequency (e.g., Feb QTD, Mar QTD, etc...) with a member formula, is there a better way to set this up? We have a report that would display the MTD, QTD, and YTD data in the columns. It would be ideal if the user would only have to change the month point of view and it would update all of the columns instead of having the user update all three. I would appreciate to hear how others have set this up. Thanks!You can create a series of dynamic calc accounts in the period dimension. This is really not optimal because your are going to have a very large fully expanded block, but it may make the most sense due to your requirements
and have the member formulas look like this:

You can also create a dynamic calc version dimension... and use more conditional logic, and try something like this (probably best from a performance standpoint as increasing your fully expanded block is going to drag down the calcs etc...). obviously this may not fit your requirements, but try it out

Madhu.For curiousity sake...if you use the FIMA_DECIMAL_MONTHS_AND_YEARS Function Module, the output that you'll get is a months and years in fractional amounts. So, how are you going to get the Years and Months from this?
For example, if the from date is 20000101 and the to date is 20090914, the results from this Function Module will be Months = 116.42740 and Years = 9.70228. If you do use this, I'd suggest taking the whole number from passed value for years (9 in this example) and then calculate months by taking the franctional amount of the passed value for years and multiple it by 12 (0.70228 * 12), you end up with 9 Years, 8 Months (8.42736 to be exact, but you're going to want to truncate it to 8 so that when it goes above 8.5, the value doesn't become 9 when it still should be 8). -

The new fields should state the age of my kids in years and months based on the date that they were born and the date that photo is taken.

Kind regardsIt can't be done with iPhoto. There are some DAM (digital asset management) applications that can write to other IPTC fields that iPhoto can't read. One such app is Media Pro 1.
However you would have to calculate the age for each date and add it to one of the fields. There are online age calculators that can do that for you: Age Calculators
If you go thru that much trouble then use iPhoto, make the calculations and add the age to the Description field. Then you can use Smart Albums to search for 1year 6 month text.

Problem with retrieving single digit date and month
Hello Sir,
I have the following code. Cuurently when I insert date in this format 1984/11/14 and also in this format 1984/11/4 and retrieve the following two dates, I could successfully populate the dates into the corresponding fields in the form. But earlier in the database, there are some records created in the following formats:
1984/3/1 and 1987/10/4(i.e.,yyyy/mm/dd).In the form when I try to populate them into their corresponding fields I am able to populate only 1984 into the year filed in the first case and in the second case I could populate 1987 and 10 into the year and month fields. I could not populate the values of the records with single digit either in month or day fields.
By observing the code, could you let me know what needs to be done in order to populate the previously created records with the single digit month and date.

I have the following code. Cuurently when I insert date in this format 1984/11/14 and also in this format 1984/11/4 and retrieve the following two dates, I could successfully populate the dates into the corresponding fields in the form. But earlier in the database, there are some records created in the following formats:
1984/3/1 and 1987/10/4(i.e.,yyyy/mm/dd).In the form when I try to populate them into their corresponding fields I am able to populate only 1984 into the year filed in the first case and in the second case I could populate 1987 and 10 into the year and month fields. I could not populate the values of the records with single digit either in month or day fields.
By observing the code, could you let me know what needs to be done in order to populate the previously created records with the single digit month and date.

i was asked to create a format for daily, weekly and monthly system performance report .. can anyone send me sample report format..Hi Sandy,
System Performance is always checked by a list of our lovely transactions in BASIS I generally had created one for my self and keep a track of performance..
IT goes like this..
Daily : DB12(Check Backup Logs);SM51(Check serv are UP);RZ20(Look for ALerts); SM13;SM21;SM37(check for cancelled jobs);SM12; st22 (dumps); ST02; SM35; SP01 (Spool jobs for more time); AL02; ST04; AL16.
Weekly : DB12; DB02; SAPDBA checks ; DB drives and space; EWA report of the past week.
Monthly : More or less the same stuff of Weekly with Archive files as well ...and SAPDBA cleanup logs... Monitor the DB growth and check for the backup logs...

ICal events are missing Day and Month in date
Hello, Sorry if this has been addressed elsewhere - this is such a weird fault I was not sure how to search for it.
My iCal events are missing the Day and Month in their start and end dates - it just shows a 4 digit year which can only be edited as a 4 digit number. All my events are in their correct places but I am unable to create new multiday events.
This applies to old and new events alike. I tried trashing my iCal prefs file but it made no difference.
Anyone any ideas? I am using iCal 3.0.8 on Leopard 10.5.8.

I have created a report with two prompts, they are "Enter Start date:" and "Enter End date:" where i take date values from a calendar while prompting.
For example:
Start date = 10/11/2003
End date = 10/10/2003
If i want to display the End date means, i ll use UserResponse("Enter End Date:") in the webi reports. What should i do to calculate Year and Month from this user response value,
i used these calculations below, but it is not working, showing me #ERROR message.
1) ToDate(UserResponse("Enter End Date:");"dd/MM/yyyy") = #ERROR
2) FormatDate(ToDate(UserResponse("Enter End Date:");"dd/MM/yyyy");"dd/MM/yyyy") = #ERROR
3) Year(UserResponse("Enter End Date:") = The expression or sub-expression at position 6 in the 'Year' function uses an invalid data type. (WIS 10037)
4) FormatDate(ToDate(UserResponse("Enter End Date:");"dd/MM/yyyy hh:mm:ss A");"MM/dd/yyyy") =#ERROR
so help me how to get the year and month values from prompts ?

Calendar in List view different from Day and Month view
When I look at my Calendar in 'List' view all of the Birthdays and Events are in the wrong date but in 'Day' and 'Month' view they are correct.
Has anybody found a fix for this yet? I have looked at similar discussions but they are all a couple of years old and none seem to have found the solutionIt looks like I have found a solution - it is to do with the birthday dates - if you delete the year of any pre-1932 birthdays it solves the problem!

How to get ONLY month and MONTH within date...
I have to convert something from sql server to oracle.
In SQL Server I have:

... AND (MONTH(ACTUALFINISH) = MONTH(GETDATE()) - 1)Basically Im just extracting the month so that I say the MONTH of the actual finish date is equal to the month of Today - 1. Meaning get the month for today (GETDATE() in sql server) and then subtract ONE month from it.
How can I do that line in oracle?

I am a Windows Vista User. I updated my iTunes Version 10.3. Then, when I re-opened my iTunes, all files were gone! Good thing I consolidated the files and just imported the files again. But, this happens every time I close and open my iTunes. Help?
In iTunes 11 uncheck the preferences setting in in the iTunes Preferences panel "Advanced > Copy Files to iTunes Media folder when adding to Library"

My client requirement is that Shopping cart number should be generated based on year and month specific.
Though it is possible through smart numbering, it should generate automaticaly.
For eg:- Shopping cart generated for March 2011 should be 1103SC00001 to 1103SC99999
Shopping cart generated for June 2011 should be 1106SC00001 to 1106SC99999
Shopping cart generated for January 2012 should be 1201SC00001 to 1201SC99999
Is thera any badi available for this.
