% consolidation problem

I have loaded percentage figures at level 0, how do I tell Essbase not to add up the percentages to summary levels for the Hierarchy dimension but to use the same percentage figure that was loaded at level 0 per product? So this is not a Time Balance issue since my aggregation problem is on the hierarchy dimension.Any ideas?

You could put your percentages in another database that doesn't include the heirarchy dimension then use @xref in the outline as a dynamic calc or calc script to calculate the values to go into the heirarchy (ensure two-pass is on to prevent a roll-up)

Library Organization/Consolidation problems

Before I get to my problem, I'll provide a little back story just to make things a little clearer: Recently I decided I'm going to get a new desktop, since my current computer is utterly outdated in almost every aspect, I'm very restricted with what I can do on it. It has two hard drives, both are horribly unorganized with programs just randomly installed on either one; my music files and other documents all scattered about the two as well (not to mention both are near full capacity).
So, what I planned on doing to move files from this computer to the next was with a 250GB external hard drive I have. My music is the most important thing on my computer, so those files were the first move I wanted to make. And I figured that I'd kill two birds with one stone by consolidating my entire iTunes Library (11,062 songs, 61.54 GB) onto the external HD; so everything would organized in one folder on one HD, and already transferred onto it. So I set the iTunes Media folder location to a folder on that, and began the Organize Library process on iTunes.
As a fortune of having a slow computer that's unable to handle any amount of stress, iTunes froze and the process stopped - though not too far into it. Not thinking at the time, I deleted the copied files and figured I'd just start the consolidation over again. As I was permanently deleting them from my Recycling Bin to save space, it hit me that most likely the file locations for the songs that managed to be copied were already changed to the new location on iTunes. Alas, this was the case, meaning I have countless 'dead songs' in my library now.
I have no idea what songs were affected by this at all, and I have far too many to just sort through them myself. And I just can't wipe out my Library and reinput the songs, as that would mess up my Playlists which I've spent a mind-numbing amount of time on. I'm not sure how to fix it in anyway; it's truly frustrating when things like this happen. Should I just do a system restore and recover the copied files or what? What should I do?

If you "Get info" on a missing file and cancel when it asks you to try to locate it, then the Summary tab should show where iTunes "thinks" the file ought to be, e.g. *file://localhost/<Path to media folder>/Music/<Artist>/<Album>/## <Name>.<ext>*. This should let you confirm that iTunes has updated the locations of the dead tracks to point at your external drive.
Consolidating doesn't delete the old files, so if you have a recent backup of your library database taken before you started to consolidate then you could restore that and start over. If you haven't taken your own backups then you could restore the library file backed up during your most recent iTunes upgrade which will be stored in the *Previous iTunes Libraries* folder. This will lose track of any recent additions/deletions/playlist changes but may be better than starting over.
If there's any pattern to the "dead" tracks then you could manually copy these into the new location again so that iTunes can see them, but this might prove time consuming.
An alternative approach would be to try repair things by relinking to the original files. iTunes won't reveal where it "thinks" files are via script or it would be quite easy to implement a simple search & replace script, but if iTunes was managing the file & folder names then I have a script which may suit your needs. See this thread for the background or just download SwitchLinks.vbs, select a few of your missing files and double-click on the script to attempt to reconnect them.
If you're still not getting anywhere let me know where iTunes "thinks" the disconnected files are and the possible true locations, i.e. the different media locations you've used, and I'll try to come up with a tweak to make the script work for you...

Legal Consolidation problem

Couple of days before , we restored the appset in the our development server .
After we did the procees all the dimensions and optimization all the application .
When i runned the legal consoldation , its running but no effect in the database .

STUCK in consolidation problem...help

I've always been worried about moving all my music to a separate drive, but I did it , , and here's my status:
My Library in iTunes = 22.39 GB
New drive, (H), where I moved the library = 9.47GB
When I went to my laptop's hard drive to delete the music from there, this is what I see:
I have 2 "MY MUSIC" folders, both on my (D) drive, , one in path D:MyMusic/iTunes/ (5.13GB), , and another , D:Jamie's Documents/MyMusic/ (12.5GB) . .
So, , I'm confused if the consolidation truly worked, , as seen above the size of the library doesn't match with the size on the new external drive --
I'm guessing the tunes in that second location went nowhere, , and how do I get them all where they need to be? Also, when I get everything consolidated correctly, what exactly do I delete? For example, in my iTunes location, there are four things present, 1)iTunes Music Library (with an icon of the world), 2)iTunes Library (with a eighth note as an icon), 3)Previous iTunes Libraries (regular folder), and 4) iTunes Music (regular folder) --
Please help me figure out this mess! I don't want to lose any music, but I really need to move to external drive...

1,223 + 2,591 = 3,814 songs. Is this what you have in the iTunes Library? More, as there as some now on the ExHD? Are you sure that your Library is complete (within iTunes)?
Here's what I would do. The complexity will depend on your need to maintain any important Playlists you have, and the need to retain any Library metadata (Ratings, Play Counts, Last Played, Date Added attributes). If you do not need these data points, it becomes (relatively) easier.
High-Level Steps:
- Manually copy all the music folders (Artist/Album) onto the ExHD from all locations
- Make copies of the current Library database files (the ITL & XML files)
- Export all important Playlists to an XML file for re-import later
- Save all your Ratings, Play Counts, and Last Played attributes with Otto's SaveRatings script
- Delete all the current references within iTunes (keep the music files on the PC)
- Set up your Preferences to make the ExHD your Library location - Uncheck the 'Copy files to Library' selection for now - Let iTunes organize your Library if you desire
- Rebuild your Library from the files on the ExHD (File=>Add Folder)
- Re-run Otto's SaveRatings script to drive in the saved attributes
- File=>Import in the XML Playlist files to rebuild your Playlists
The trickiest part is manually copying all the music folders to the ExHD. Windows Explorer will not create a 'union' of two same-named folders. It will overwrite one with the other. In other words, you cannot drop the 'Compilations' folder from one drive onto the ExHD without overwriting the one there.
I would suggest copying all the various music folders to the ExHD into different folders, then moving the sub-folders around on the ExHD to their correct placement (in the Artist/Album schema). Just be careful.
Make sure you know how many music files you currently have, then verify that you have moved all of them to your ExHD structure. Once done, you can then 'Add' them to a blank iTunes Library. Then leave it at that, or add the metadata and Playlist info back in.
Once the complete transfer is verified and working, you can go back and delete all the music files on the main PC. Just make sure that you have all the music on the ExHD and within iTunes (as references pointing to the ExHD).
That’s a general overview. Digest this and post back with any questions or comments before you proceed. As I mentioned initially, you can omit some steps if you do not need/care about Playlists or metadata.

ITunes library consolidation problem

I'm stuck on this one. I used to have a large iTunes library that I stored on a pocket drive external to my laptop. I've recently cut it down from 150Gb to about 113Gb, which I figure I can copy back on to my laptop (130Gb free space). However iTunes is insisting that there isn't enough space on my drive, even though there should be a spare 17Gb. Are there any settings that might be making iTunes think the library is bigger than it is?

It turns out my hard drive has some corruption errors and needs repairing. The finder > info on the drive was registering a different size to that calculated by a finder window and Disk Utility.
Off for a restart and repair (touch wood).

How do I fix this media consolidation problem?

I have nine projects where all the media used is from one event except one graphic file (JPEG) that was cut and pasted from a project which accessed this grahic from another event. Then the same title was cut and pasted throughout all nine projects (so many uses of it!
Is there a way to consolidate this so that the JPEG comes into the one event that seves all nine projects or do I have to sonsolidate all the projects and end up with a new event for each prpject. This seems clumsy - or am I missing smething.

Consolidation after copying Application

i met with a consolidation problem. i copied an Application as test and changed the consolidation method of one entity from quote to at equity. after consolidation there is a big differece at the level of parent company in the test application. the original application runs but well. Has anybody advice? It would be greatly appreciated.

We do not care about the parent entity's contribution level, I was talking about the base entities' contributions. During consolidation HFM adds up the [Contribution Total] of all individual base entities to form the amounts of the parent entity's entity currency. Therefore, if you observe a difference in parent's entity currency, you have to see how this is formed -i.e. listing the contributions of base entities and summing them up. You should compare the base entities contribution of the source with the target application.

I was pertaining to the Entities with ID that starts with "E". Anyway, I tried removing the values "Y" for property "ELIM" in the Entity dimension and removed the values for "ENTITY" and STORE_ENTITY in the Groups dimension and I don't encounter the error and consolidation calculates okay.

In an SRM BW analysis scenario for vendor evaluation i need to consolidate infobjects from different source systems: SRM , R/3 and extermal WEB system trought ABAP interface. The infobjects are 0GNVENDOR (SRM web Survey for vendor Evaluation) , 0VENDOR (R/3 MM) and 0BPARTNER .
How can i solve this consolidation problem in an efficient way ?

After this the ODS exports consolidated data (e.g 0GN_VENDOR>0VENDOR>0BPARTNER) to the infobjects directly with the flexible master data staging (Instruction in inforea "Inserting Infobject as data target")

Can't consolidate files- error message 69

I am trying to back up my iTunes file to a hard drive. While consolidating, I repeatedly receive the error message :copying music failed. an unknown error occurred.
It consolidates most of my music, but keeps stopping at random songs. Can anyone help me to solve my consolidation problem?

I checked test connection for every database. All working fine.
Please tell me, what is the problem ?

Problem with Legal Consolidation for Journal

I have the application icmatching with data and I have written other values with Journal.
I have run the package legal consolidation.
I have this problem:
for the value that I have loaded into the application, the logic consolidation works correctly, indeed it writes a new record with different datasource
but for the value that I have written into the application using the Journal the logic doesn't work correctly, indeed it writes into the database a new record like the original but with contrary value so I lose also the value that I wrote with the journal
Could you please help me?

Hello Michele,
Basically what ever data that you input in journal as long as the selection on xdim is fulfilled the script will run normally.
If its write in reverse and deleted your original data, it must be something wrong in your script, you can check at first.
If the problem still you can't found, can you share us a little about the script?

GP - consolidating structured parameters problem

Hi,
I have a problem when consolidating parameters of the same structure type.
I want to consolidate parameters between two Web Service CO. The output parameter of the first has the same type as the input parameter of the second. They are structures (the parameters are lists of java objects, which themself contain lists of objects and other string objects. That means
List1
   List2
   String).
So, when I consolidate them (I group the List2 structures), as an input to the second CO I get the Strings matched but only the last list element of List2, the others are overwritten maybe.
I have read in the SAP Help Pages in the consolidating parameter page that :
The Group option is enabled only for:
○       Standard parameters of the same type (for example, String, Integer, Time)
○       Structure (and Structure Template) parameters, regardless of their internal hierarchy
So, I thought that I can consolidate parameters with arbitrary hierarchy.
Do I understand that wrongly or is there any way to make such thing?

I don't think GP forgot your changes here.
I assume you don't have any problems with defining the GP interfaces for your 3 actions (implementing GetDescription).
Now when you implement the Execute or Complete method to set or get the GP List structure or array you've defined, you need to:
- make sure that in the A1 callable object, you're passing correctly the content of the Webdynpro array to the GP interface structure.
- make sure that in the A2 callable object, you're passing correctly the content of the GP interface structure to the Webdynpro array.
Your problem is a Webdynpro problem not GP. You can use the mechanism of looping through the first array and add element or row to the second array.
That's a good webdynpro exercise and enjoy it!

EC-CS - Problem with rollup in consolidation

Hello SAP Guru,
We have a manufacturing client who went live last month with a technical upgrade from 4.6C to ECC 6. We use EC-CS and are in the middle of completing our first month-end process. We encountered a problem during profit centers rollup (transaction CXCD). During the data upload step, all the profit centers rollup correctly except one: a dummy profit center for the company code 1000. Data is not loaded in that receiving consolidation unit associated with the dummy sending profit center. The same CXCD transaction worked without problem in SAP 4.6C - for all other consolidation units/profit centers.
In fact we noticed that when we ran transaction CXNT against the problem consolidation unit, it showed that that "consolidation unit was NOT already integrated". We can't get that consolidation unit to "integrate".
The client produced Balance Sheet and P&L statement by profit centers. We tried everything and have exhausted all avenues. If you can give some leads/suggestions where else we can investigate, it's much appreciated.

I've got the same issue but it seems that mine AppId is set correctly?
Following Situation --> tested everything with beta app in store --> everything worked fine.
Afterwards a submitted a new app for real app store and changed the appID to new one.
Microsoft rejected my app because of unexpected app crash.
I tried to reproduce the issue and voila --> app is crashing at this line

Problem sync Satellite Forms data with Oracle 8i Lite through iConnect Consolidator.

I receive following exception in the hotsync log:

This is when I after installed the satellite forms performes a sync.
I use PalmV with PalmOS 3.3, performes the sync with HotSync through iConnect Consolidator for Oracle 8i Lite 4.0.0.2.0
In the Satellite Forms App Designer I have check the Oracle Lite option in the property form.
This happends for both the sample forms and the one I have created.
I use the Satellite Form 3.0 beta 2, is there a new release and where can I find it ?
Anyone with any ideas to solve this ?
