  • Crackling sound and audiodg.exe problem in windows 7

    Hi,
    I suddenly ran into this problem with my Pavilion dv7. The music played by Windows Media Player as well as other player become slowed and crackled. My norton complained that the audiodg.exe occupied most of the CPU power.
    I ran through a google search to find the solutions. But it seems none of them works. Someone suggests to disable the audio device enhancement. but mine has been disabled already. Someone suggestes to upgrade the driver, but mine is up to day. Anyone has met a similar problem?

  • Add bookmark hangs and crashes safari 7

    After upgrade to OSX 10.9 and Safari 7.0, trying to add or edit bookmarks do not work.
    Safari hangs and crashes the OS

    Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    In the Console window, look under the heading DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION on the left for crash or panic reports. If you don't see that heading, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
    A crash report has a name that begins with the name of the crashed process and ends in ".crash". It may be under either of the two subcategories, "System" and "User." A panic report has a name that begins with "Kernel" and ends in ".panic".
    Select the most recent of each and post the entire contents — the text, please, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
    Please don’t post any other kind of diagnostic report, such as a hang log — they're very long and not helpful.

  • Crossfades produce crackling sound and hesitations

    For no obvious reason, out of the blue, all crossfades now produce a crackling sound (in and around it as well) and hestitations. So I have had to eliminate all crossfades from my sessions. Not good as you can imagine. It doesn't seem to affect mixdowns but it is impossible to work with during mixing and recording, so I now have no crossfades. What would cause this? I haven't changed anythng but there must be a setting to fix this.
    Please help. Thanks!

    I continue to have this condition and it is becoming very unworkable. I can't even have one crossfade or the crackling starts and even the timing slows down. I have tried every latency setting and it's set to the highest now (2024). Crossfades are a thing of the past for me, can you imagine, mixing without any crossfades.
    Please, someone offer some solution. I've had great support on this forum before but lately it seems to be a desert, at least as far as my problems go. To reiterate, Audition 3 does not have this problem and runs smooth, fast, with no crackling. Then load Audition 6, and it's a big drag. I'm getting panicky as I have sessions. I just don't know what else to do.
    Help!
    Thanks!

  • Odd crackling sound and smoke?

    I've just noticed today that when I lift my Macbook Pro 13" (2010 version) up, say towards me a weird crackling sound is made, I'm pretty sure it's not from the speakers, it's similar to the sound you get with a wire and there's a bad conncection or something. Also, I swear smoke or something similar came out of the gap bit by the keyboard, near the monitor if this makes sense? I think I'm still under the year warranty so would it be worth calling/going into an apple shop? I'm a bit worried!

    Yeah I might have to if it continues, I mean, it doesn't seem to do it all the time, just every now and then, it's just really weird! If I did take it in how long do you think it would be before I got it back?

  • Crackling Sound and Apple Icon

    Sometimes when I turn on my iPod Video it displays a silver apple icon on a black background. Is that normal. My second problem is a crackling sound the iPod sometimes emits before playing a sound. Can I fix that?

    Yes the icon is normal if you haven't turned on your iPod for a while. It goes into a sort of hiberation after a period of time (12 or 14 hours I think) and takes slightly longer to start up. As to the crackling, have you tried different earphones in case they are causing it?

  • Expired security certificates and crashing Safari?

    Help!  As of a couple of weeks ago, I began receiving the error code "Expired Security Certificate" in Yahoo! mail when trying to Compose a new email.  I was able to send email from my Gmail account, and have had to rely on that.  Now, I cannot even send from Gmail - it causes Safair to crash.  I continue to get the Security warning on Yahoo!  I searched online for fixes, including looking in Utilities and the key folder.  I see the problem keys, but "repair" does not fix them.  The Yahoo! one is dated "Saturday, April 15, 2013" which is obviously incorrect, as today, is Monday, April 15, 2013.
    My Safari is also beginning to randomly crash.  I just ran updates, but it didn't see to help.

    It could mean a lot of things. Basically, the SSL certificate is there to:
    1) Encrypt information between you and the site
    2) Provide you with a "statement of trust" of sorts from the CA saying that this server is, in fact, run by "Company XYZ". In this case, your bank.
    Certificates expire and must be renewed, so it's entirely possible your bank forgot to renew their certificate. It's also possible that it's not an authentic certificate and the system has been hijacked by some malicious person. The traffic you send to the server will still be encrypted, but it may get sent to somebody other than your bank if the site was hijacked in some way.
    It'd probably be best to contact your bank and ask them about it. That way you should be able to get a definitive answer straight from them. If the certificate is correct and verified, just expired, it will still work just fine. I wouldn't log in to the site until you've checked with them, though.

  • Mountain Lion Freezes and crashes Safari.

    Tried to download Mountain Lion to my Mac Desktop but it freezes after 53mb.
    Now when I try to open Safari it says it aborted unexpectedly and advise to click reopen.
    When I do this it just takes me back to the error message page.
    Anyone care to help / advise?

    First run the two resets and then try Safe Mode
    SMC RESET
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
    Shut down the computer.
    Unplug the computer's power cord and ALL peripherals.
    Wait 15 seconds.
    Attach the computers power cable.
    Wait another 5 seconds and press the power button to turn on the computer.
    The 5 second timing is important to a successful reset.
    PRAM RESET
    Zap the PRAM
    Shut down the computer.
    Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
    Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
    Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.
    Safe Mode

  • My ATV has a constant strange sound and is very warm

    Has anyone experienced that the ATV sounds like it is working constantly with a rather high humming sound? It is also very warm, but has always been I think. Even if I turn it off by pressing the Play button it still sounds that noice.
    Would it help to rstore it to factory setting or any other suggestion?
    Jesper

    The top of the ATV is reportedly designed to act as a heat sink and it gets quite hot, that's normal. The humming noise is unusual and could indicate a hardware problem, like a bad component in the power supply or possibly the hard drive. It should be quiet, so I'd suggest taking it to an Apple Store or calling AppleCare, you may need to have it replaced.

  • I was forced into an update and now i get constant error messages and crashes I'm missing folders and it doesn't work the same way twice.

    Last week I had a pop up that said I had an update from Thunderbird. It wouldn't take no for an answer and went ahead and did the update. It updated to 12.0.1 which from what I can see is already outdated. Since it did its update it hasn't worked right and I keep getting messages of long running scripts. I have messages running in tabs across the top that I can't get rid of. It takes extra steps to get back to the inbox. I also lost 2 of my folders. I' ran AVG scan and maintenance. Malwarebytes found 2 problems that it quarantined but didn't seem to be associated with T/bird. One folder came back after that. I have another folder that is labeled NSTMP that shows 518MB of use but when I open it there is nothing there. I'm not sure if I picked up something in the last update or not. It seems it tried to do this before and I told it never to update. At this point should I just update to the latest program and see what happens? I can't seem to find a way to transfer all of the folders to a thumb drive without going one message at a time and I'd at least like to back it up. Any thoughts/ideas appreciated. Thanks Doug T

    If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
    Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
    Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
    Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
    Open iTunes.
    Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.

  • Premiere Pro CC and After Effects CC work slowly together - much worse than CS6

    Premiere Pro CS6 and After Effects CS6 worked together really well.  I could have both programs open and make a change in After Effects, then go back to Premiere Pro and see the changes pretty quickly.  Since upgrading both to CC, I can't jump back and forth and see the changes quickly.  I literally have to hit Enter and render the After Effect clip after every freakin' time I make a change to it in order to see it without any pauses or jumpiness in the playback.  CS6 worked great.  I can't express my disappointment in the Creative Cloud "upgrade".   So many things are SO MUCH WORSE!!!   Adobe you have to fix this stuff.

    The speed of the connection is dependent on your hardware and the type of comp you have in AE.
    I haven't noticed any significant performance difference between the two versions (I've also been heavily using dynamic link since CS6 ).
    Some comps will play fine in Premiere, some comps will need rendering. I generally render the clip in Premiere, as opposed to AE.
    If the same comp from CS6 is behaving significantly worse in CC, then you might be on to something, but it is most likely a bug isolated to your hardware config and not a general CC issue.

  • [Solved] Crackling sound in Wine

    Hi community,
    I'm having some trouble with Wine's sound output. In all Wine applications (including winecfg) I get crackling sound and many of these lines:
    ALSA lib pcm.c:7832:(snd_pcm_recover) underrun occurred
    All non-Wine applications work fine. I know that the problem appeared some time ago, but since I didn't use Wine for a pretty long time, I cannot tell exactly when it appeared. Currently the latest version from multilib/ is installed (1.6rc3-1). Here is the list of opt deps (installed ones are marked as such):
    Optional Deps : giflib [installed]
    lib32-giflib

    I need to say that I'm using the fix for crackling noise in Skype: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Sk … -bit_OS.29 (adding "tsched=0" to some line in /etc/pulse/default.pa). Trying to revert the fix left me without sound at all for some reason.
    The .asoundrc (nothing changed as far as I remember):
    $ cat ~/.asoundrc
    pcm.dmixout {
    # Just pass this on to the system dmix
    type plug
    slave {
    pcm "dmix"
    defaults.pcm.rate_converter "samplerate_best"
    Thanks for any hint,

    Thanks for your reply! I don't think, I use dmix, the .asoundrc is some default one (might actually be a pretty old one since I tend to carry my /home partition over to new system installs). I tried to remove it with no luck. pulseaudio-alsa has been already installed with following /etc/asound.conf:
    # Use PulseAudio by default
    pcm.!default {
    type pulse
    fallback "sysdefault"
    hint {
    show on
    description "Default ALSA Output (currently PulseAudio Sound Server)"
    ctl.!default {
    type pulse
    fallback "sysdefault"
    # vim:set ft=alsaconf:
    Since nothing changed after removing .asoundrc, maybe this asound.conf has been used all the time rather than the .asoundrc?
    Concerning the tsched=0 thing, the driver is snd_hda_intel (with snd_hda_codec_realtek), the card is an ALC887-VD. The Alsa page you mentioned states that indeed some cards with snd_intel_hda (seems to be the same as snd_hda_intel) driver have problems with timer-based scheduling, but doesn't specify which ones exactly.
    So now I'm following your last hint and building wine-multimedia. It had lib32-libcl as make dependency which made conflicts with lib32-catalyst-utils, so I now try building wine-multimedia with lib32-libcl removed from the makedepends list, let's see whether it builds, it takes a while.  Will report back as soon as I have any news.

  • Flash & Java apps crash Safari 4

    There are two websites I frequently go to and recently I have been experiencing problems after I downloaded Safari 4 on both my Mac Pro and Macbook Pro unibody. Both are OS X 10.5.6, and have the latest software updates. I can access both of the sites fine with IE 7 through VMware Fusion.
    First site is Stickam.com. I get an error message for Adobe Flash Player 10 which reads "Error # 2044: Unhanded IO Error Event:. text=Error #2036: Load Never Completed". I push continue and Safari crashes on me.
    The second site is Elluminate.com. It is a java-based web conferencing program I use for my classes. I click to enter the room from Safari 4, and the java application loads fine until the very end and crashes Safari. The error message I received is "The application Elluminate Live! quit unexpectedly. Mac OSX and other applications are not affected. Click to Relaunch....Report....Ignore".
    I have the error reports for both occurrences that I can post if needed. If this can't be resolved, do you think I can reinstall Safari 3 to fix the problem?

    Hi
    The first site played with no problems. Which version of Flash are you using? Latest is found here. Regardless of whether or not you upgrade Flash, "repair permissions" using Disk Utility. When done, restart Safari and try the site again.
    Regarding the second one, I tried to watch a demo. A Java app. was installed in my system, however, crashed when it opened. I suspect the second site is not yet S4 compliant.
