Constant freezing after upgrade to 10.6!!
Like the title says ever since I've upgraded to Snow Leopard I've been met with constant freezing on the internet or itunes and on one occassion the system. What do I do? My system overall is a bit slower too.

I discovered that there was an issue with the virtual host config files. I am not sure why but the problem passed the Apache startup routine. I discovered the offending VH config file by turning them all off and reactivating them one at a time. The real head scratcher is why I couldn't scan or ping port 80 during the problem.

Bluetooth Mighty Mouse keeps freezing after upgrading to Leopard
My bluetooth mighty mouse has frequent, intermittent freezes (which appear to be a loss of sync to the iMac) after upgrading to Leopard (now 10.5.1) from 10.4.11 on my iMac 24" alum body. This mouse was rock solid on my iMac running Tiger. Luckily I do have a corded mouse which I've been forced to use the past week or so.
Can anyone suggest anything?
Thanks.I was just trying to help my Dad with the same exact issue (Mighty Mouse stops working on waking from sleep & trying to open bluetooth prefs at that point causes the system to lock up. Have to hold down power button to reboot)
Oddly I have Leopard on my iMac 2.16 Core 2 Duo and have no issues with my Mighty Mouse.
Hopefully someone comes up with an answer .... My Dad is 80 and just bought a new Powerbook and Mighty Mouse. It's hard to explain why the mouse doesn't work. -
[SOLVED] System freeze after upgrade linux-3.12.9-2 to linux-3.13.4-1
After upgrading from kernel 3.12.9 to 3.13.4 (booth x86_64 architecture) i detected system freeze after round about 0.5s of the login screen about 80% of the time.
So i first thought it coulbe be the the ati driver and uninstalled that via livecd/chroot.
But the same thing happens in comand line only mode.
Afterwards i setup at ssh server to get into the maschine if it is still running, but is was also not responding to that.
Downgrading to 3.12.9 solved the issue. In journalctl i could not find any usefull information.

After upgrading from 7 to 8 my iPad 3 will freeze using email, safari, games. I never ever had a problem before this upgrade. Have done all the temporary suggestions but nothing is a permanent and will come right back. I am so sorry that I upgraded, can not go back. I really want to thank the IOS guys for screwing everything up. Seems like old times with the Microsoft Tech guys. I have no problem with my iPhone 6 Plus phone.
It seems to be caused by roboform 7.5.1. I upgraded to the latest version of robo and it's working now. Sorry mozilla, not your fault.. very frustrated.

MacBook Pro (mid 2007) freezes after upgrade to Mavericks

After the upgrade to Mavericks my MacBook Pro (mid 2007) freezes after a couple of minutes of usage - after successful install and the use of some apps. Not bad enough the system is now always crashing if I try to boot. PM reset didn't help. Booting from the restore partition was possible, but I decided to go back to a working backup of 10.8.4 made a minute before I tried to upgrade. Why 10.8.4? Because 10.8.5 causes the strange problem that the Mac freezes after wake up from sleep.
Any suggestions?

Kind regardsI did a clean install of mavericks on my MBP (mid 2007) and still it freezes at arbitary points. The very first time when it booted up it worked for longer and when I started to apply updates from app store, it froze. Successive boots froze much early, like within few seconds of booting.
I am going to check this by booting in safe mode. I am losing hope with mavericks on my MBP (mid 2007) and will switch back to snow leopard (10.6.8) which was working seemless.
I checked so many things, based on other posts to make sure if my MBP is really Mid 2007. IT IS.

My Mac Mini freezes a lot and sometimes the login cube don't stop spinning after upgrading to latest firmware. How can I solve that?
It sounds like something you have installed that boots drivers did not expect the firmware to change. You can verify this by seeing if safe mode boots. If it still has problems booting, then the firmware was not applied correctly, or there was already a hardware problem present that the firmware update simply brought to light. Run then the hardware test that came with the Mac:

If there is nothing detected, it could still be a physical RAM issue. If the boot from safe mode works, then you need to eliminated all non-Apple hardware from the boot, and discover if any installed drivers aren't known to be compatible with that firmware by checking with their vendors. -
IPhone 5 freezes after upgrading to iOS7
I've updated my iPhone 5 64Gb from 6.1.4 to iOS 7 yesterday via Wi-Fi. And after that upgrade the iPhone started to freeze randomly. Sometimes after opening notification center, sometimes after opening control center or settings, sometimes it reboots itself. But it constantly freezes after idling for 10-15 minutes. I've got a black screen and no reaction on any buttons and touchscreen, only soft reset helps (power+home for 10 seconds). I tried to restore it with my mac and itunes but not succeeded. I also tried to reset settings from iPhone but that also didn't help.
Any ideas except downgrading to 6.1.4?This is pretty much the same thing that's happening to my iPhone 5 32GB. I installed it September 19 and worked flawlessly until today. So far, it's "bricked" itself (turning off) 3 times today and I have to hold power+home to get it to boot.
Seems fairly random. Bricked once while opening notification center, the last time was immediately after I received a text message while in the locked screen. -
Why is my podcast application freezing after upgrading my iPhone 4 to iOS7 ?
My podcast application is not working on my iPhone 4, after upgrading to iOS 7. What can I do to fix the problem ? Is it possible to play my podcasts on another application ?
Found the solution : deleted the frozen screen Podcast application, restarted the iPhone, downloaded the application again, deleted all podcasts from the application (edit, and delete one by one) and synchronized with iTunes via cable. Now it works !!!
IMPORTANT : before deleting all podcasts don't try to do anything else with the newly downloaded podcast app. it will freeze !!! and you have to delete and reinstall the application again !!! -
New tab keeping freezing after upgrade to v35 on Ubuntu 14.10
After upgrading to Firefox 35 on Ubuntu 14.10, I keep experiencing browser freeze every time when I open a new tab. The browser freezes about 30 seconds when a new tab is launched.

I have tried different trouble shooting methods, but none of them works. The browser keeps freezing. There was no problem before upgrading to version 35. Maybe there is a bug. Boot from the Snow Leopard DVD and start the installation process. After you select the Language, the next screen will display a menu bar. Go to Utilities in the menu bar and select Disk Utility. When DU opens, select your drive on the left, click the First Aid tab (on the top) and click on Repair Disk.
When that is done, click Repair Permissions.
When that is done, quit DU and restart the computer in the usual way. -

Hello all
I have been having a difficult issue that it seems apple has trouble fixing and so has everyone Ive talked to as well. I tried the MBP section with no luck so Im going to try here.
After upgrading to Maverick from snow leopard I have started getting GPU panics at a rate of 1 or 2 a week when I had none before the upgrade to Maverick. I do have a 2010 MBP 15in which I knew could have bad gpu's but I had my laptop checked for the TS4088 error after the first 2 panics. My machine tested good and passed the VST test or atleast that is what I asked to have run at the store basically i told them i wanted it tested for the ts4088 issue. Now I gave them the fact of the matter as the first 2 panic seemed to happen in the same application(garrys mod), but now there is no pattern in applications(mail, quicktime, vlc, firefox, word, Premiere). I have also been having the computer go black recently with no luck getting to wake up as if its forced to sleep but doesn't respond to any commands to wake it back up but also doesn't cause an official crash report to show up.
Now I have reset the SMC/PRAM and updated everything on the system and run a HDD smart test and memory test which all passed. Now I know the logitech driver doesnt cause the crash as i dont have it installed on my windows/bootcamp side and I get the equivalent of a gpu panic as the kernel crashes on the nvidia card when its active and nothing fixes that as well.
Now i have seen using the gfxCardStatus should fix my issue but I need to use my nvida card for video editing and shot rendering so i cant be stuck on the internal. I have also exceeded the 3 year length as I was trying to see if i could fix my laptop before handing it over as I cant be without a laptop as they are required for my classes and job at college and since it passed the VST the genius said I would have to pay for the more detailed inspection by the backroom tech's which at the time I didnt want to pay to fail a class. I showed him the logs but as I only had 2 at the time he told be it must have been that application and sent me on my way as I didnt want to pay for more inspection maybe the tech just too busy as our store is always packed.
This hasn't been my first logic board failure either I had the first go out the first year when the USB bus gave out from what im guessing was some surge caused by my power brick shorting out internally and almost catching fire.

So is it possible to past the VST but still have a bad GPU? I have tried everything I can come up with with no luck so far without resorting to tearing down the laptop and having to inspect the boards with some of my EE friends. Would running the test again help?If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Source list, and then click Restore. -
C1000A CenturyLink modems freezing after upgrading iPad Air and 5S to 8.0
I have discovered that after upgrading to 8.0, my C1000A modem stops working when I connect with my 5S and iPad Air. I thought my modem was going bad, but when I went to my mother's house the same thing happened. There is something different with 8.0 that is causing the C1000A modems to stop working. Has anyone else ran into this issue? I would hate to go somewhere and shut down the WiFi at Culver's for instance because 8.0 has some sort of weird bug.
It looks like Apple has a another bug to squash. It appears the issue with locking up my C1000A has to due with IPV6. I hit the reset button on my modem and IPV6 was turned off. I turned IPV6 back on and while I was testing connectivity with http://test-ipv6.com my modem locked up. I turned off IPV6 and no issues so far.
