Constant Freezing- Can anyone help me?
For the past few weeks, my computer has constantly frozen up on me. It would work for a while, and then freeze. I would reboot it (that was all I could do to unfreeze my computer) and then I could not login again. After the normal statup, I would just see a blue screen. I have reformatted my hard drive at least half a dozen times over the past 2 weeks, and it still will not work. There are no problems with the hardware (according to Apple Hardware Test). My iBook is 3 years old. Should I start saving to get a new Mac or invest money and try to repair this one.

if it keeps freezing after OS restore, it could be RAM, hard drive (probably not since it was formatted many times with no errors) or logic board.
sometimes freezing is caused by peripherals like hub or a printer.
hardware test often will not see the problem.
try removing extra RAM if any and AirPort card.
if it still freezes, repair could be expensive and replacement parts will have only 90 days warranty.
service shops will likely charge 1 hour for diagnostics.

Hi Everyone,
So I've had a macbook pro i5 15" since 2010. No major problems until recently, my computer will crash at random typically when media is involved. At the time of the crash the sound that is playing will repeat like a broken record and the screen will go black.
Example I'll be previewing hires .cr2 and .mov files and my computer will crash. It will also crash when I just have chrome open and I'm browsing the web, I'll copy a link to my clip board go to paste it and crash. Seems random but always happens when I perform an action.
I brought my macbook into the apple store for a diagnostic, they performed a basic one and said my battery had an issue on it and it could be replaced. However the crash happens all the time, my power cord is typically plugged in. The employee wanted me to leave it for a few days to perform an advance diagnostic and stress test, however I can't leave it there for a few days as I use it for work daily.

Probably the most important one to remove is Symantec. Their current Mac products are junk. Scanning your Mac OS looking for Windows viruses is not helpful.
Your version of Pace app is labeled as the snow leopard version. Pace app is installed by makers of expensive software packages who do not trust you not to steal them. You should contact them to find out how to un-Install or get an up-to-date version.
Also, yours is a 15" MacBook Pro 6,2 2010 -- there is a recall program in place for it. It is described in this article:

PRINT out a copy of the article as a hedge against "we never heard of this." and take it to your appointment at the genius bar. Do not leave until they have run the special VST test that ends in a remarkable PASSED or FAILED screen. [The typical "overnight bake" will NOT find this problem].

If they refuse to accept it for free repair under the program, the store manager may have additional latitude to help you. You MUST be polite and professional at all times. Apple wants you to be a happy customer. Folks who shout and threaten to sue everyone will never be a happy customer, so all they get is to be shown the door.
If the time has expired and you are not willing to pay for the repair yourself, downgrading Mac OS X will make the problem far less likely to occur. -
My macbook pro keeps flashing green lines across the screen then freezing, can anyone help?
Back in December my macbook started doing this thing quite regularly where it would flash black or green lines all across the screen, for maybe half a second, then the screen would freeze, so I would power it down manually then back on again. I took it into a store and paid a lot of money for them to "fix" it, but when I got it back it was still doing it. I just recently took it in to a different store and the guy said he couldn't reproduce the problem, but replaced the RAM and gave it back to me. Within a day of having it back the same thing happened, twice. At this point I'm not sure what to do, the money I spent on "fixing" it could almost have bought me a new one. The most recent time I shut it off, when it was turning back on it stopped on the grey screen with the apple and started making a continuous beeping sound, which I took a video of. Does anybody know why any of this is happening??
Hi Were you using the apple store for the repairs you had done? As to the point of taking in to a store to have it repaired and getting it back with the same problem. It should have been taken back to the same store as they have to stand behind what they do. You do not say what they repaired. The store replacing ram without knowing what the problem is ,is questionable. If you are going to change ram for the original apple installed ram, you need to make sure it is compatible with your MBP. One of the best sources for this is Macsales.com. N70 freezes - can anyone help?
I have several gripes. Often I find that there is no signal (i'm on 02) even if I am under a mast! I then have to switch off an on again to get the signal. (this takes ages).
I have a Nokia blue tooth headset and this sometimes fails to link, other times the headset and phone manage to link up and make calls somehow using the voice activation.
I have set the address book to be listed by first name, but if I search using a letter it starts listing by surnames first. E.g. If I browse through the whole list it would be Adam Smith, Brian Jones, Carol Gregson etc. If I search for 'N', I would get Barry Newgate, Stacy Norris, then Neil James. Is there any way to get this last example to start with Neil James? i.e. starting the search by first name?
There appears to be no convenient way to automatically lock the keys, without having to enter a 5 digit password to unlock them again. Is there a way around this.
Having loved the famously good Nokia interface before I find this new smartphone very frustrating. However I love the camera and use it a lot.
The address and locking points may be shortcommings of the system, but the freezing and headset problems are faults - is this likely to be software or the phone.

With people I text a lot, I sometimes add an extra bit to the end of their name, so with my girlfriend, Linda... when I'm writing a text, rather than typing 66644466 I made her name Linda jgm so now all I need to type when looking for her in the contacts is 646... could be worth looking into, I find it works perfectly
As for the autolock thing... it's been mentioned quite a lot on here, and although I prefer having to enter the security code every time - that function is flawed on my handset without a Firmware update... so I use the following app, along with rather a lot of others from here... Try a Safe Boot: Restart holding down the shift key until you (hopefully) see a grey progress bar. Once booted restart as normal from the Apple menu. Any change?

Many ThanksYour hard disk is failing and requires replacement. Replacement is not terribly expensive and can be performed by someone sufficiently adept with computer repair. If that's not you, an Apple Store can perform the replacement.

Every time I start my PC it says Procedure entry point xmlTextReaderConstName could not be located in the dynamic link library libxml2.dll It also keeps freezing on Itunes and I cannot sync. Please can anyone help?
With Windows Explorer, navigate to your C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support folder.
Copy the libmxl2.dll that you should find there, navigate to the nearby Mobile Device Support folder, and Paste it in there also.
Reboot and see if all is well
In case that your OS is Windows 7 (64 bit)
1. Open windows explorer, go to location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
2. Copy file "libxml2.dll"
3. Open new windows explorer, to to location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support
4. Paste file "libxml2.dll" to the location.
5. Reboot your computer, it should not display that message, it should be clear.

My iphone keeps freezing, especially in the mail setting. The support center indicates i should go to settings, then general settings, and then to update software, but there is no "update software" selection under general settings. can anyone help? Thanks!

i am so tired. Have used many hours now to find a way to get my fotos from my Iphone to my PC'er (windows 7). I have downloaded Icloud, but I cannot aktivate "foto" When I click on icloud there comes a window, where it seems that I can click on foto. But within sekonds the 3. (foto) possibility freezes and the vindow sort of changes: You can still se the choice "Foto" but it cannot be activated. Can anyone help, please!

You have a Combination BluRay and Surround System that includes WIRELESS Rear Speakers:

This could account for why the BluRay is generating interference with your wireless network signal.
You can go thru the process of changing the wireless channels and other changes to the Verizon Actiontec Router or hook up your old router which was working before you switched to FIOS.
FIOS has a Superior Product over any cable system and I would hate to see you leave over something that was out of their control.
By the way, looking at the picture of the rear connections for your Panasonic you would want to have an Optical Toslink cable go from the back of the Verizon HD Set Top Box (Optical Out) to the Optical In jack on the back of the Panasonic. This connection will provide you with Dolby Digital sound (If Broadcast by Channel) while you are watching TV. You may need to switch inputs on the Panasonic Remote to get this to work. You may also have an Optical Out jack on the TV that could be connect as well if you are using an HDMI Cable.
Your Verizon STB would be connected to the TV by either HDMI, Component, Composet, or Coax (Highest Quality to Lowest Quality). The HDMI would also provide sound to your TV so that it's internal speakers would work if desired.

As soon as I plug my iphone4 (running 4.3.3) into my pc, it appears in the left hand column and the little wheel starts turning. Then it stops after a few seconds and itunes freezes. I have tried everything. Can anyone help. Thanks

Yes, a very frusterating issue indeed. Someone else had mentioned a possible issue with real player, I tried getting rid of that and same issues. I even got completely rid of firefox for the moment. Guess what, problem still is persisting. I think this means it maybe something else altogether. I will go back to re-add firefox after I get this straightened out but now using Chrome for the moment.
What I've also found out is that the sound can be restarted when I unplug and replug in the 3.5mm speaker cable from the audio output jack on the back of the computer. Any ideas?
