Constant freezing since new look update

As above ever since the last update with the new look my vision box constantly freezes when trying to change channels even to a point I have to preform a reset the menus are also sluggish it's only the on demand stuff that work's properly.
Anyone else had this problem?

Yeh me too....  
Just about losing the will to live ! I've tried to reset the box 2 times and do not want to do a complete one as I am sure it will result in the loss of all my recordings which only take up about 25% of the drive space anyway.
The box is so sluggish it takes about 30 seconds+ to respond to any remote control command which sometimes results in it eventually jumping all over the place as I sometimes end up pressing the remote button 2 or 3 times in frustration !
Changed the batteries in remote even though I knew they were fine as I see the blue light on both the remote and the vision box flashing.
That is just with the TV guide, trying to navigate through the menus is laughable and since the update to the new platform my box has, whilst watching freeview programs and recordings, just decided to reboot itself, usually about 3-5 times a week with the dreaded blue screen and the "nearly there" message. Right annoying if you are watching freeview programs which you have paused or rewound a bit !
Any help on how to resolve this would be appreciated.

    It sounds like your apps are behaving unexpectedly after you updated to iOS 8. I would start by quitting all the running apps first:
    iOS: Force an app to close
    Double-click the Home button.
    Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
    Swipe the app up to close it. 
    When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:
    iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

  • Laptop Freezes after New iTunes Update?

    I recently just did the new iTunes update for my pc laptop. However, when i try to sync my iPod Touch 2nd Generation, my computer completely feezes and i have to do a hard shut down. Has anyone else gone through this? PLease up!!! Thank You.

    Hello, I did a new software update of my apple tv today and now the menu "MOVIE" is missing on the main page. I already rebooted the device but the problem still persists.

    @Surfbroad you've probably done the following, but as @IpadinParadise has suggested, can you confirm that you're selecting the HDMI input on the TV that's Apple TV is connected to? Also, is the audio playing fine while the screen's black?
    If you've made sure that the input setting you've selected on your TV matches the input you have your video cables connected to, then change the Apple TV resolution by pressing and holding the "Menu" and "Up" button for six seconds. The Apple TV will automatically cycle to the next resolution at approximately 20 second intervals. Pressing the "Select" button will immediately cycle to the next resolution. This should choose the appropriate/compatible resolution for your TV automatically.
    If the above doesn't work, and if your Apple TV is 1st generation, try component cables instead (and disconnect the HDMI cable temporarily).

    SSince the update this morning, Safari with search results but is then frozen and I cant open any of the websites.

    (A) Try reset iPad
    Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home button down together until you see the Apple Logo.
    Note: Data will not be affected.

    1.Double-click the Home button.
    2. Swipe the app's preview up to close it.
    3. Preview will fly off the screen.

  • Help Downgrade to Snow Leopard due to Constant Freezing from YouTube and Update Failures?

    I love the new OSX Lion, however due to youtube being my most visited site, the widespread issue between new iMacs with Lion and Flash Player is bad enough that I would like to return to Snow Leopard. My computer has already frozen and needed to be restarted upwards of 15 times. If I no longer posses the Snow Leopard install disc (never thought I'd need it since I upgraded), is there any way for me to revert to Snow Leopard? I just can't stand the freezing, as well as how long it takes to restart following said crashes, it has rendered my mac nearly unusable. Also, when I run the Software update application, updates keep finishing downloading and then telling me that the download "Can not be saved" which forced me to move my music library to Spotify. Although after 3 days the iTunes update did finish however i did not want to go back to iTunes for fear of future problems. Help?

    I've already tried all of those methods using the 10.6.3 disks I bought, they simply don't work as I posted earlier.
    All that happens is the machine constantly bleeps 3 times in a row and the DVD drive stops spinning. I know booting from a DVD install disk is a slow process but no matter how long I leave it nothing happens except for the 3 bleeping sounds.
    Having scoured the net and spoken to Apple themselves all information tells me these 10.6.3 disks are actually for someone upgrading from Leopard to Snow Leopard.
    I have no idea why Apple sold me this version as before I ordered it I explained fully to the sales person what I was wanting to do and they had all the details of this mid 2011 iMac I have bought. So unless the sales person didn't have a clue what they were talking about then I should be able to "downgrade" to Snow Leopard on this iMac as even the specs for this model clearly state on everymac.com that it originaly shipped with OS 10.6.6 (Snow Leapard)

    Who would have thought setting up your computer could be a mission impossible task and why Apple don't help is simply a disgrace to be honest.

  • Since new Itune update I am unable to back up and Sync the data

    I am trying to sync and back up data of my iphone 4. Since I haved the updated the iTunes with the new version 11.1.4.62. I get either stuch as "step 2 - Back Up" or "step 3 - Preparing Sync". Thereafter there is no action. I am really frustrated and have done it all referring to similar error in the past. But no luck.
    I believe Apple is fading away like NOKIA. I never encounter such issues earlier. I was happy with iOS 6, iOS 7 not just frustrates it also give good reason to do away with iPhone culture.
    Hope to receive some form of support else. Would scrap my phone n switch to LG or HTC. Had ehough of iOS glitch and errors.

  • External isight freezing since last software update

    Hi,
    Since I installed the last update, my external iSight works for a time and then freezes. The internal iSights in both computers are fine. I even tried on the iMac reinstalling everything clean, but it froze even with just the operating system and updates in place. I used the external one with my Macbook Pro just a couple of weeks ago to record a class for a student teacher I was working with, and it worked fine. The only other change I have made is to try a bluetooth mighty mouse, but that shouldn't affect both computers. I do use this from time to time in the classroom and need it back! Help!
    Any ideas or work arounds?

    Hi Mike,
    My Answer would be a "Don't Know" on this.
    I have only ever connected via Bluetooth to my son's phone to download some pics.
    I would guess there is a sort of check that runs every now and then that checks what is attached. It is probably this that cause a pause or delay and upsets everything.
    It seems that in the BlueTooth (System Preferences) pane that you can match or pair things which may help.

  • Strange start-up freezes since last security update.

    Hello,
    I've had some strange behavior since the I applied the last security update and was wondering whether anyone else had experienced similar difficulties.
    Occasionally (1 in 5 boots) my MBP experiences freezes after I have logged in, but before Finder is launched. I have left the machine run for > 15 minutes before being forced to do an un-graceful shutdown. The machine is frozen at "nebula" splash screen, with the spinning "beachball of death" but there is no menu bar, and the machine is unresponsive to any key strokes.
    Console log of what appears to be the issue is included below.

    OK, I may have gotten to the bottom of this. Admittedly I am grasping at straws here.
    Firstly, the log message seemed to indicate issues with the per-user launch agents. As mentioned previously I have verified the disk via Disk Utility with no problems. However, I did not run a disk permission check. I ran that and found some minor inconsistencies. But at the end of the permission check it reported unexpected ACLs on a number of system directories, including ~/Library, which is where the the per-user Launch Agents are stored.
    A quick search of the discussion forums indicate that incremental OS X updates have a habit of corrupting permissions in such a way that ACLs are reported on directories. The only way to correct this situation is to do a re-install of the COMBO pkg.
    I re-installed 10.5.8_COMBO (which took awhile) and re-checked permissions. I get the same small inconsistencies (all with FrontRow), but no reported issues with ACLs. Yay!
    I have rebooted about 10 times and am yet to see the problem as reported, so I am tentatively declaring victory. Obviously I realize that re-installing the COMBO update may have fixed any number of issues, none of which are related to the ACL issue reported by disk permission check, which is why I say I am grasping at straws. But this seems to have fixed my problems. I will continue to test and post results.

    I have been having a lot of problems downloading the Rush podcast ever since the last upgrade.
    What use to take less than a minute now takes about ten minutes, including a bunch of "iTunes not responding".
    What might be my problems?

    hello, in order to further diagnose the issue please [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode|run firefox in safemode once]] & see if the problem is occuring there too. if not it may be related to one of your addons or hardware acceleration. in this case try disabling all extensions in tools > addons > extension, restart firefox and reenable the extensions one-by-one (restarts of the browser might be necessary after each time) until you find the one that's causing it. you can disable hardware acceleration in tools > options > advanced > general.
    if the two suggestions from above don't help, please also have a look at your security-software & make sure it's not blocking/sandboxing the updated version of firefox or the plugin-container...

  • HT204380 Unable to message during video chat since new iOS update. International connection isn't always great and needed to message during video chat but am no longer able to. Any hints.

    SSince updating iOS I cannot message during video call on FaceTime. While calling internationally the connection stinks and I would rely on messaging until the audio would work again. Did this option get eliminated or do I need to take another step to use it. It was simply tapping the chat box at the top of the screen previously. Thanks for any assistance.

    This Log states Error 8  (Near the top)
    Error 8 is a bit of a catch all for everything that ichat can't label to some other cause.
    All the way though the Log sticks with port 16402 (Good) and does not vary (it is actually supposed to  try a random port).
    The CSeq (Call Sequence) never gets beyond INVITE
    In fact this si the SIP invite that is Behind the Scenes after the Buddy Accepts the Visible Invite part.
    Specifically the second line here is supposed to move on to read "TRYING", "RINGING"  and "OK"

    Are both ends using UPnP in their routing device  ?
    If you have an Apple Base Station of any sort then this has Port Mapping Protocol that needs to be Enabled.
    The log looks like a router was using Port Forwarding (The listing or Port pointing at one IP (Computer) ) and that the IP of the computer has changed.

  • Ipod constantly freezing after new itunes update

    i just upgraded to itunes 7 and am running software version 1.2 on ipod and the ipod freezes all the time now. what should i do?

    When I tried the first time it asked me if i wanted it to stop syncing and to restore. It gave the choices of yes and cancel, i didn't click either because the option box went away and it just stopped restoring on its own. I did the store again and now it is asking if i want to set up as a new ipod or to restore to Andrea's ipod. Should I set up as new?

  • Notes app not holding changes since new iOS4 update for 3GS

    I didn't notice it right after the update, but I've noticed that recently my Notes app (the one that came on the iPhone) isn't working correctly. I use this app for a ton of things, & it's VERY frustrating for it to not work. So I've got a note I've been trying to update, & when I make a change, it doesn't stick. It completely goes away, as if I never made any changes. But this problem seems to be random, because as far as I can tell, another note of mine seems to be letting me make changes. SOMEONE PLZ HELP!!!

    Is there a way to get the notes that were created in my email acct folders into my iPhone folder? I didn't even realize I had these different folders until a few notes after the update. How does it even determine which folder it saves a new note into anyways?!?! Well thank you for your reply. I think this will solve my initial problem. Now to just figure out how to get all my notes into my iPhone folder for notes. sigh ...

    (I have no idea where I can place this forum post..)
    I had an older version on my previous desktop and now since this new version, running on Windows 7, I constantly get scrollbars and cannot see the full screen of the remote desktop. Is this a bug or a setting?

    I had the same problem on Windows 8.
    It only happens when the RDC window is maximized. If I minimize it then click on Session=>Fullscreen, the scrollbars disappear.
