Constant Guard Protection Suite Chrome extension

I just noted a new open tab on my browser, URL http://services.whiteskyservices.com/addons/chrome/install.aspx?id=eeihfhnbnfemlajfadhbpdfiipncebld, with "Your Constant Guard Protection Suite Chrome extension is out of date, upgrade now" in white print on a red banner at the top of the screen and, centered on the page, a small blue banner inside a white banner (ona gray field) with the download icon and "INSTALL NEW EXTENSION."  Is this genuine?
The main whiteskyservices.com page has a logo banner for "Connect" and then Connect(TM) Support, with four tabs for Support Alerts, Online Account Protection, General and Installation, and a link to the right saying, "To View the Connect user guide Click Here," with a hyperlink to  http://whiteskyservices.com/userguide/.
My OS is Windows 8.1 and I use Chrome as my default browser.  Thanks!

The link and instructions are not spurious, and you don't need to click on the link to enable the browser helper object. Here are the directions to manually enable the BHO - for the 3 supported browsers. You will also find this information at the Fast Connect  Support Page. You can click the ? of the Fast Connect dashboard, and click on "Support," or use this link - http://ringo.idvaultservices.com/support-fcps/ to see the FCPS support page. If you don't trust the link, then you can use the following instructions to manually enable the BHO. Once you have enabled the browser helper object, you will no longer be prompted. These add ons will be automatically installed by your browser, usually within 12 hours after they are released. If the browser add on is present, then these instructions will work to enable it for the application -
For an “Other” account, such as a shopping account, the FastConnectTM add-on, plug-in, or extension for your web browser needs to be active.
                For Internet Explorer –
Click on the Tools icon;
Click on Manage Add Ons;
Find the FastConnectTM add on in the list of applications;
If it is not enabled, click to “enable” the add on;
Close all browser windows to save the change.
                For Firefox –
Click on the Firefox Controls icon (looks like 3 horizontal lines in the upper right-hand corner);
Click on “Add-ons;”
Make sure the FastConnectTM add on is present and is enabled.
Close all browser windows to save the change.
                For Chrome –
Click on the Chrome Controls icon (looks like 3 horizontal lines in the upper right-hand corner);
Click on “Settings;”
Click on “Extensions;”
Make sure the FastConnectTM extension is present and is enabled.
Close all browser windows to save the change.

  • How to remove Constant Guard Protection Suite extension from Chrome?

    I have tried to remove Constant Guard Protection Suite many times by putting into the trash can on the extensions page, but it always shows up after restarting Chrome.
    Any tip would be greatly appreciated.

    To completely remove all traces of the Constant Guard software from the computer, download and run the Constant Guard cleaner tool. Click here to download the tool, run the program, and follow the simple prompts to remove the software. You will have to reboot your computer after running the cleaner.
    Hope that helps.

  • I just upgraded from version 3.6.17 to 5.0 and ext. tells me Roboform and Constant Guard Protection offered through Comcast are both incompatable. How can I fix this or should I just go back to 3.6.17, which I liked better anyway?

    I have Roboform 6 and CG supplied by Comcast. Extentions tells me neither one is compatible with FF5.0. What can I do?
    On another problem, I upgraded against my better judgment because I like 3.6.17 better, but it kept crashing a couple of times a day. Sometimes I was playing a downloaded game, sometimes on a web site or browsing, it happened during various things. I thought maybe upgrading would help but now some of my programs etc. can't work.

    I found, by searching around here, how to go back to version 3.6.19(couldn't find 3.6.17)and now Roboform works like a charm again. BUT, when I open my Add-on list, CGPS Extension 1.0 tells me it's not compatible with FF 3.6.19. I'm about to pull my hair out, and I can't really afford to lose any(half bald now). I guess my only recourse is to find and reload version 3.6.17. HELP!!

  • After updating, Firefox informed me that Constant Guard, the security system which is provided by Comcast, is not compatible with this update and was disabled. WHY? Will Firefox now automatically provide security against online threats?

    Firefox upgraded automatically; in doing so, it stated that Constant Guard Security Suite, which is provided by Comcast, my internet service, is not compatible, and had to be disabled. Please explain why; is Firefox providing anti-virus when I surf the internet? If not, this is NOT an 'upgrade' and I will never use Firefox. Please respond as soon as possible.

    Hi, Thanks for that further bug description In Your Last Message That Describes The Problem I Am Having perfectly and is exactly the same for me.
    unfortunately that fix for my camera Powershot G6 does not work or apply as the view pictures switch is different on G6 is not usable during download as once you plug in DC/USB cable it turns off, and makes no diff and problem still exists exactly as you just described.
    thanks anyways "Selz Boy"
    it has been 17 days since apple promised to get back to me within 3-5 days hopefully with a solution, but I have still not heard from them.
    They blew me off, i guess, probably i will have to wait for new Yosemite OS update, which they pre-warned me could take as much as 6 months.
    I cannot believe apple released this new update with such major bug issues for camera downloads and that horrible "Photos" pgm which has all sorts of downgrades in features, usefulness and new bugs compared to iPhotos which I just finally got used to and was much better software.
    I am starting to lose faith in Apple and I am getting that Microsoft "FEEL" like I used to have when I was a PC user, which was why I originally switched to Apple  computers in first place.
    Oh well got my fingers crossed here.
    Thankfully the memory card reader solution  is working well, but cost me $45.

  • Constant guard bot warning??

    Got an email warning from Comcast today about a possible bot infection detected by constant guard. I have a mbpro, Apple TV and a couple iPads/iPhones. I always run scans using virus barrier and they are always clean.  I have a closed network that is password protected and Wpa2.  They only thing that changed was last night I opened up my guest network for my fantasy draft and had 12 new devices on it (all pc). Was wondering if any knew if all the new traffic would have caused this or if there may really be an issue with my mbpro. Just find it very coincidental that the warning email would come right after my draft. At help is appreciated. Thanks

    It's a Comcast scam to get you to install "free" anti-virus software which you'll later be charged to "upgrade."

  • Create pdf chrome extension problems

    My os is Win 8.1
    My product is Acrobat XI with all current updates as of 11-25-2013
    I use the lastest version of Chrome browser
    I have used the pdf extension on the browser at least 7 times.
    1st time nothing happened
    2nd time it worked perfectly
    3rd through 6th time it did nothing what soever.
    I went into Chrome and looked at the settings. It was enabled.
    I rebooted my computer and tried a 7th time which resulted in nothing happening.
    I openned Chrome and deleted this extension thinking I would browse Chrome extensions and re install.
    I was not able to find this extension and started reading in the Acrobat forums.
    I did as suggested and closed Chrome and open Acrobat and click repair.
    This resulted in no change what so ever. I have also noticed that the disscussions I read the folks with
    this same issue have not been able to resolve the problem.
    I believe in Acrobat and enjoy the use of it. This chrome browser extension function was great the one time it worked for me.
    I am open for help....now that I can't even make the extension show up on my brower again.
    Thanks,
    Jerry

  • How do I enable SimplePass now that Google has blocked Chrome Extensions

    Recently, Chrome was updated to block all extensions that weren't purchased from their webstore. My PC (a Pavilion dv6) came with HP SimplePass installed. I use it for all my online password management, but now it is blocked by Chrome (my preferred browser).
    There is, apparently, a SimplePass extension available on the Chrome WebStore site, but it says it will only work with SimplePass version 8. I have version6. The current owner of SimplePass -- Softexinc.com -- doesn't indicate anything about getting software updates.
    The SimplePass/ingerprint reader combination was part of the reason I bought this particular PC in the first place. I'll be very disappointed if I can never use it again. Please help me to re-enable this feature.
    Edited to add:
    OK, it gets worse. I found a download for SimplePass version 8. But there is no upgrade path! The import/export features of the two different versions are incompatible, so there's no way to migrate all my login/password data from the old to the new version. Please, HP, address any of these problems:
       - create a SimplePass upgrade to convert data from older formats
       - develop a Chrome extension that works with SimplePass v6 AND meets Google's requirements to allow it to run
       - enhance SimplePass 8 to be compatible with existing (older) versions of SimplePass
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hello everyone,
    Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!
    I am going to address the Chrome and Fingerprint-reading extension issue. I have already solved the exact issue for one user using the steps in this thread: Chrome Policy - disabled Simplepass extension
    Other suggestions include using SimplePass on Internet Explorer and FireFox. Although, if you want to try to get Chrome working again, you can try the steps I suggested.
    Here are of the steps from the thread:
    1. Uninstall your current version of HP SimplePass and install this one (even if it's the same)   : HP SimplePass Identity Protection Software Version 6.0.100.276
    2. If that doesn't help:    (This one is more of a workaround than anything)
    a) Go to Settings in Chrome. Look for the "Extensions" menu, and click on "Get more extensions".
    b) In the Chrome Web Store, search for "SimplePass" and it should appear under Extensions. Click on "+ Free" to install it, then try using it.
    3. You can try to reset Chrome to default settings: Reset browser settings
    4. System Restore, just because time travel is sometimes useful: System Restore
    5. Try the steps in an Incognito window (yes, I just suggested that). Incognito mode disables all extensions by default (at least it's supposed to). You can re-enable all extensions, including Website login ones.
    6. Download and install an older version of Chrome, then try to get SimplePass and website login extensions working: Old Version of Google Chrome
    If none of this helps, then I'm going to suggest some complex steps. This requires working in Developer Mode.
    1. Go into Developer Mode through the Extensions menu.
    2. Note the extension ID (For example, jilhkcaiaaepfiajaebpkmhonmfgabhf)
    3. Go to C://Users/-name of user account-/AppData/Local/Google/Chrome/User/Data/Default/Extensions/-extension ID-/1.8 (or another number is you have a different number)
    4. Copy that file path.
    5. Go back to the Extension Menu of Chrome, and click on "Load unpacked extension...". Paste or search the above file path and hit Enter.
    6. The extension should now be re-created and enabled (or able to be enable). You may need to restart the computer.
    These steps should be enough to resolve the issue, according to what experimentation I've done. For the sake of this issue, please let me know what happens after trying each step.
    I will continue to monitor this thread, while playing around with Chrome and SimplePass to possibly discover more solutions. Please let me know your results. Thanks!

  • I am looking for a CRM system that integrates with mail chimp or constant contact, hoot suite and forms stack

    I am looking for a CRM system that integrates with mail chimp or constant contact, hoot suite and forms stack

    Hi,
    I could resolve the issue since there were lot of issues after system copy.
    1. During distribued to Cenrtal system - system copy.
    You need to combine both DB and CI export copies in one folder during which one thing can happen.
    SOURCE.PROPERTIES - this file will be there in DB export JAVA folder and also CI export JAVA folder where
    DB SOURCE.PROPERTIES file doesn't have an entry of "src.ci.host". This will stop the SAPINST with error and after modifying the file "SOURCE.PROPERTIES" Traget System Copy finishes without any issue.
    Then after this stage I encountered an issue with bind hosts entry in config tool which was due to virtual host name usage in my HACMP setup due to whcih JAVA gives a startup problem.
    I eliminated this issue also.
    After JAVA started I faced an issue with XI related navigations.
    ecchangeProfile url still had an entry of Production System. This may be a bug.
    After changing that entry, exchangeProfile was downloaded but it had all the source system host entries which were manually changed.
    Now I can access all the XI related navigations.
    I need to also perfrom SGEN and Profiles import.
    Do I need to change any additional settings after this so that my production and DR can work without any issue?
    Do you have any additional checks which I can perfrom to ensure my DR systems consistency before I start the log shipping from Production?
    Regards,
    Rajkumar

  • I need to remove 9.0.1 and install firefox 8.0.1 as comcast constant guard does not work on 9.0.1 How do I install 8.0.1?

    I need to download earlier version of firefox...where do I fine 8.0.1? I currently have 9.0.1 installed (Mozilla firefox)

    Is Comcast constant guard really necessary? Ask Comcast support to update its products or find another application doing the same instead of downgrading your browser to a version which has known exploits and missing features. But FF8 is available on Mozilla's FTP: ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/ (turn off autoupdate)

    Hi,
    Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
    You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
    * [http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/default.aspx Microsoft Safety Scanner]
    * [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/ MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware]
    * [http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208283363 TDSSKiller - AntiRootkit Utility]
    * [http://www.surfright.nl/en/hitmanpro/ Hitman Pro]
    * [http://www.eset.com/us/online-scanner/ ESET Online Scanner]
    [http://windows.microsoft.com/MSE Microsoft Security Essentials] is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.
    Further information can be found in the [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]] article.
    Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
    Hope this helps!

  • Convert PDF Chrome extension does not appear/install for Acrobat 10 Pro

    I have Acrobat 10 Pro and the Chrome extension to convert web pages to PDF does not appear in Chrome.  I tried repair installation from the Help menu in Acrobat and it still did not resolve this problem.  The extension also does not appear on the extension list, in case you're wondering if it's deactivated.  I am using Chrome Version 36.0.1985.143 m.
    I would appreciate the links and steps I need to take in order to get the Adobe Convert to Webpage Chrome extension to be visible and functional on my Chrome toolbar and in my extensions list. The PDFMaker shows up in Internet Explorer.  I do not use Firefox.
    I have already tried disabling all of my other Chrome extensions and run a repair of Acrobat via Actions.
    I tried uninstalling Google Chrome, restarted my computer, downloaded the latest Chrome installer, installed Chrome, and launched Acrobat and repair Acrobat.
    I'm totally at a loss at this point.
    Can you please help?
    Thank you for your kind assistance!

    Hi angelczech,
    The convert pdf extension will not appear in Chrome with Acrobat 10.
    It will with Acrobat 11.

  • Convert PDF Chrome extension does not appear/install (Acrobat XI)

    When I installed Acrobat XI, the Chrome extension to convert webpages to PDF does not install or appear in Chrome. I tried repair installation from Help menu of Acrobat, it still did not resolve the question. The extension also does not appear on the extension list, in case you're wondering its deactivated.
    Any help would be appreciated
    Cheers

    I think there might be some confusion about what you are asking since I think that the Adobe Acrobat Create PDF extension is only available for Adobe Acrobat Pro XI (11) and I don't think that you will find it in the version 10 directory (although I could be mistaken since I do not have version 10).  One you update to the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Pro XI (11), and also apply the latest updates to Google Chrome, then the extension should be enabled.  I am running Google Chrome version 33 and have Adobe Acrobat Pro version 11.0.6.70 and the extension works alright for converting basic webpages.  The Adobe installation directory that contains a copy of the extension depends on your operating system and installation and whether or not you have a 64-bit machine.  For example I am running Windows 7 64-bit and I was able to find a copy of the "WCChromeExtn.crx" extension file in the directory:  "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 11.0\Acrobat\Browser\WCChromeExtn"
    On the other hand if you are asking how to install the "WCChromeExtn.crx" Adobe Acrobat Create PDF extension without updating Adobe Acrobat Pro, that is a much more advanced procedure.  If you have Windows 7 typically certain file types and locations that will not be indexed so you may not find what you are looking for with Windows search.  That is why someone suggested using a third party search indexer to find the extension file.  Another person suggested extracting the file from the Adobe update, and I also think that is the way to go.  However the method that was described previously is very complicated and uses a lot of unnecessary scripting for what you really need.  I propose that you download the latest update directly from Adobe and then extract the extension from the update file.  Here's how to do that in Windows:
    1. Download the latest update file from Adobe (e.g. "AcrobatUpd11006.msp")
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows
    2. If you are interested in some background on Windows Installer files, check out these links and read about MSP files and extracting resources, otherwise go to the next step:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AdminGuide/basics.html#installer-file-ty pes
    http://www.jsware.net/jsware/msicode.php5
    3. Rename the incremental update MSP file extension to CAB (e.g. from "AcrobatUpd11006.msp" to "AcrobatUpd11006.cab")
    4. Use an archive utility such as WinRAR, WinZip, or 7-Zip to open the CAB file and extract the "WCChromeExtn.crx" CRX extension file
    5. Drag and drop the extension CRX file onto open Google Chrome window extension page to install and configure (chrome://extensions/)
    There are some other forum topics and a blog post that deals with some installation issues with the Google Chrome extension:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1332770
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1165998
    http://blogs.adobe.com/acrobat/tip-google-chrome-the-adobe-acrobat-create-pdf-extension/
    http://blogs.adobe.com/acrobat/tag/chrome/
    I hope that this might help you with getting the extension installed.
    I currently am having some issues with the Adobe Acrobat Create PDF extension for Google Chrome when I try to convert secure https webpages, the output of the PDF converter does not retain my logon information, and does not convert the secure webpage.  The resulting output of the converted https webpage is either a logon screen or a blank pdf with only the URL listed at the bottom.  I hope that this might get fixed with an update or if anyone else might know of a workaround or solution.  Thanks.

  • Chrome extension claims does not have latest ver of Acrobat despite CC

    Trying to use the Adobe Acrobat - Create PDF Chrome extension on up-to-date Yosemite with CreativeCloud - extension gives "Unknown Error" and claims computer doesn't have the 'right' version of Acrobat: "A supported version of Acrobat could not be found. Please install or update to Acrobat 11.0.09 or higher to use the Create PDF extension." even though I have CC installed and up-to-date so I do have the "highest" version. First time trying to use extension.

    This is just what I'm getting when I try to create PDFs from SharePoint Web pages. We store major resources on SharePoint, I need to create PDFs for public disclosure requests. I don't think aspx Web pages are compatible with PDF, or is there some way to do this? Please say there is.
