Constant issues sending MMS.

My iphone 4 keeps having issues sending MMS. It'll try, the progress bar will get to where it's almost done, and just sits there for minutes at a time, sometimes even longer till it just fails. Sometimes the other person will get it most of the time not. I've had to have my iphone 4 replaced before for a different recurring issue, but both models did this. Before and after the iOS 5 update. I have MMS on, have 3-4 bars on 3g at all times. Verizon even says I'm in a good coverage area. Before my iphone when I had a droid, I never had this issue. None of the troubleshooting Verizon does helps at all. Sometimes I end up on the line with someone who doesn't even know what they're talking about when it comes to the iphone 4. So as far as help from my carrier, i'm screwed there. Anyone else have some advice or tips? I've had an iphone 4 since May and it's always done this even after replacing and updating.

If there is anything that I can empathize with, it's not being able to send and receive text messages. Texting is my favorite form of communication and I know how important it is in today's wireless world. You have my commitment to getting this frustrating issue resolved for you. May I ask have your tried the wonderful steps that twistdshade & brwnzeni provided. If you are getting a specific error message then please share so I can look it up for you. also, try erasing your old threaded text messages, reboot, and retest. Let me know the results just in case more assistance is needed.

  • Problem sending MMS/Picture messages

    Wondering if anyone else is having this problem:
    I'm finding that if i try to send someone a picture message along with a typed message, as soon as i hit send i get a little message saying its converting and then it just stays stuck on "sending". It never actually sends the message.
    I realized this two days later when a friend said they had not received my text. I resent the picture without a typed message and then they suddenly received BOTH pictures (the original with the message and the new one).
    Sounds like a weird software to me? Any thoughts?

    Thank you everyone for reporting this issue. I can understand that it would be frustrating to have to try multiple times to send the same message. I have a Nexus myself and tried with a few other Nexus' here and was not able to duplicate the issue. Since there are multiple people having this issue, I will escalate this issue to our product team to further investigate this issue. I will need more details to troubleshoot. Do you notice this only happening in a certain location? Does it happen when picking up 3G, 4G or both? Do you get an error message or what exactly happens when trying to send MMS? Does this happen only when the signal is low, or with full signal?
    Also, try removing the battery and SIM card for about 30 seconds. Toggle airplane mode and network mode for a few seconds, then retest.

  • Possible issue with MMS and Android

    Yes I can send MMS no problems at all to any other handset and network and get them in return, but a bunch of my work colleagues who have the handset on this network have the same issue, they didn't realise until I had mentioned it. Sometimes I get the message but it comes up on the screen to download but it won't let me.
    The reason I posted was to check how widespread this is, since this handset and O.S is new to BT.

  • "invalid destination address" sending mms

    Whenever I try to send a picture message (or any sort of MMS really), it says "pending" for a few seconds then says "sending" and after a few more seconds it finally says the message failed and a note pops up that says "invalid destination address"
    Normal texts have gone through just fine to Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint users but pictures/sounds will not send at all.

    Hi, I'm having a similar issue to the one described above and was wondering if you could offer some suggestions.
    I have a Droid 2 Global...I bought it in August of 2011.  Until yesterday, I had no problems sending MMS (or SMS) messages to any of my contacts.  Then, I started receiving the "invalid destination address" message when trying to send a message to one contact.  This contact is a Verizon Wireless customer, as am I.  Messages to other Verizon and non-Verizon customers go through with no problem.  I called Verizon and performed the *228 update, performed a power cycle (removing the battery, waiting 20 seconds, putting it back in), cleared out all of my text messages, had my friend perform the *228 and power cycle, ensured that there were not any changes made to my account or my friend's account, and it is still not working.  Just to clarify, SMS messages are going through to all contacts.
    Verizon's only suggestion was to factory reset my phone.  I'm not satisfied with that answer.  Do you all have any other suggestions of things I can try?

    Sending pictures is fun, creates memories, and is a big part of using our phones. If this did not work for me when using my phone, I would be upset and would want it corrected as soon as possible.
    Thanks very much, Ann154, for your suggestion. Ediepenh, have you been able to send a picture since posting? Are you able to receive messages? To test your incoming and outgoing capabilities for picture messaging, please send a picture to your own mobile phone. If you receive the picture, you are able to both send and receive pictures.

  • Can't send MMS on O2, 4.2.1 - iPhone 4

    I am having problems with my iPhone 4 not being able to send MMS, on contract with O2. It is only less than 2 months old.
    The guys at O2 have no idea why this is happening as all my settings are correct, even the Apple tech guys are at a loss... could this be a bug in the update? Or something to do with the O2 carrier settings?

    I updated my iPhone 3GS to 4.2 last night. This morning, I couldn't select MMS from the photo library or go into my texts and select the camera icon. After doing a few quick searches all I found were posts like these.
    Oddly enough, I don't have an MMS option in my messaging settings...it seems preposterous Apple would turn off MMS or make such a weird error in an OS update...and then I thought, duh, restart your phone. I always forget to do that when updating my iPhone.
    So, just restart the phone. All the normal MMS options showed up. Hope it works and you all aren't experiencing some other issue.

    @Dmitriy Buldakov, have you found the solution to the issue yet? I have the same problem, no option to turn on MMS in my iPhone settings. I checked the settings on my friend's iPhone, which has the same iOS version as me (8.1.1), and the option is there. It's really annoying...

    Yep, I am having the same issue after upgrading to 6.1.3....can send iMessages with TEXT but as soon as I try to send a photo via iMessage I get "Not Delivered". I can recieve photos via iMessage without any issues.
    I can send photos fine as SMS/MMS, but my carrier changes me for this.

  • Difficulty to send MMS

    Hi,
    I am using BB Bold v4.6.0.215 and sometimes I have difficulty to send MMS. I tried many times but failed to send them.
    Normally if this problem happened I need to stop my data service and enable it back (or switch over from 2G to 3G or 3G to 2G), after that I can send them.
    Seem like my BB needs to have new connection then my BB will be able to send MMS. this problem happenned normally once I receive email or YM messages, means that my connection to RIM is in active mode (I think).
    Could you please advise me on this problem as I do not want to reset my connection eveytime I am facing this problem.

    MMS is not a RIM-controlled service, and is thereby not dependent upon any of the connections between your BB and the BIS infrastructure. Rather, MMS is a carrier-controlled service...I suggest you contact them for assistance.

    The nice thing about owning this overpriced POS is that Apple not only doesn't support it, but also doesn't want to hear about anything negative regarding it.  So I spoke to the so-called "support" people at Apple who successfully screwed up my contacts beyond repair.  I got a nice email from Apple asking me to rate the support I got.  I was actually civil and described the issue tactfully.  What do I get in return?  Nothing.  Not a damned thing!!  You're luck you've got me by the short hairs on a 2 year contract but I'm still tempted to throw this POS through the front window of the nearest Apple store!!  Not only will I be replacing this phone with a competitive product but I won't be buying anymore Apple crap.  I guess when you con 27 million people into believing your rhetoric and sales lies, you don't have to care whether some customers get screwed or not.  I'll be going back to Verizon and threatening legal action if they don't take this electronic dung heap back but I'm sure the teams of lawyers Apple and Verizon have on staff have insured that I have no rights in this matter and you're free to screw me anytime you please.  Sad. I used to love Apple as a company and your products.  Now you're just another Microsoft with more trendy looking junk.  I've had it with you.  If any of your executives are brave enough to talk to me, please contact me at your convenience.

  • IPhone 5 won't send MMS..

    My iPhone 5 will not send MMS anymore. I can only send pictures to people who have iPhones. My data is on, I have my MMS option on, and the "send as an SMS" option is on as well. I've also restored and reset my setting. I'm also on AT&T.

    not sure what carrier you are using but i use straighttalk and had same issue....here is how i resolved it
    1. delete any profiles you have saved settings>general>profile  delete if you see profile there if not go to step 2
    2. turn on wifi (my internet was also not working)
    3. open safari
    4. type iapnupdatetfdata.straighttalk.com
    5. download profile
    6. turn off wifi
    7. turn off phone
    8. turn on phone
    my internet and pictures worked after this, any user, any carrier, no issues....hope this is helpful!

  • Iphone 5 not sending MMS

    Hey all. I was having such a hard time with my MMS messaging and for me, this helped me with my issue. I am sure people have heard of an app call Onavo extend and it was what was stopping me from sending MMS to people who do not use iMesage. All i had to do was uninstall the profile. Apparently it changes the APN which is need to send data over my network (I have At&t). Maybe they will update their profile Onavo, but until they do make sure on io6 its removed. Hope this helps someone.

    Thank you sooooo much! I placed 3 calls to AT&T about this (as you can imagine, the totalled a few hours on the phone). Before they would create a ticket and send it to level 3 tech. support, they required me to go into an Apple store to test my sim in another iPhone 5... only to have the Apple store tell me they couldn't do that without messing my iMessaging up. Talk about a HUGE waste of my time. I wish I would've paid for Onavo so I could DEMAND my money back after all of this BS. After reading your post and testing, I immediately emailed Onavo to let them know they need to fix this crap. Anyway, THANKS RUSTY!!!!!!!!!!!!

    My wife is having an issue with her Verizon iPhone 4s, it seems that when ever she is in our neighborhood she can not send mms or make phone calls, but as soon as she leaves the neighborhood her phone works fine.  Here's the kicker, it seems like she can send/call to iDevice's just fine.  We have tried with a network signal update by calling I think *221, that didn't work either. Anyone have any ideas? This started about 2 weeks ago
