Constant noise through ear phones

Suddenly started getting a droning buzzing noise through the ear phones on my 3GS Seems to be related to the phone itself as goes up and down with volumn control Any ideas?

Did you check the headphone port for any kind of debris or lint? Did you check the plug and cable of your earphones for any defect?
Also try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes up again.

Music quality from MBP is so rich compared to iPod (through ear phones)

Why is it that when I use the same ear phones to listen to music, same song, same everything, the sound quality from the computer is so much richer than iPod? I mean the EQ is all off too...

Coming from the PC world, I know that different sound cards produce different qualities of sound. I also know for sure in windows (not so sure on mac) that some applications will play sound better than others. I would hope that all iPods incorporate the best of the best audio decoders to provide the fullest/richest sounds, but its possible that the macbook (using core audio perhaps?) is able to provide an even better audio quality than an iPod.

No Sound Played Through Ear Phone in Windows

Hi,
I installed Mac & Windows on my iMac. I recently found out that In Windwos, I cannot here sound from my earphone when it's pluged in. The sound still comes out from the speakers.
I do not know if it's the Windows setting. or if I should "download and install bootcamp again"
Any suggestion is appreiated.

I am also experiencing some problems with the new software version, I bought the Belkin TuneBase for my car 25 days ago it had been working fine since I upgraded my Ipod 2 days ago, you know that sometimes if you don't get good reception you can change to a diferent preseted station on this Belkin Transmitter but since this Ipod upgrade I can't change to a diferent station and also i can't disconect it like before because before it said you were ok to disconect and I'm afraid to return because perhaps afterall is a software problem.

Why do I get a constant clicking through my ear buds when playing music or videos? I am using Samsung phone earbuds. The clicking is at a 1 second intervals, and actually partially drops out the sounds. Thanks

My sound only works through the ear phones with some apps....

With some apps (Games and books) I can only get sound on my IPAD 2 though the earphones...this just recently occured. With movies the sound goes through the speakers just fine. Is there some adjustment I can make so I can hear the games without using the ear phones?

Make sure that you haven't got notifications muted (which will affect most games, but not iPod or Videos apps, nor earphones). Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to, notifications can either be muted by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar (the function that the switch isn't performing is on the task bar instead) : double-click the home button to bring up the task bar, slide the bar to the right, and it's the icon far left. The insurance has run out and now my ear phone jack on my iPad is out again. How much will it cost to get it fixed through Apple?

this is the second time it's happened but I had target insurance on it the first time so I didn't have to pay anything. Now both target and apple insurance has expired and my ear phone jack on the iPad is not working. How much will it cost to fix it?

Mac Mini making strange noises through external speakers

I am experiencing a strange problem with my mac mini and my external speakers. I have two different sets of speakers and the problem occurs with both so I don't think its the speakers as I have never had any problems with them on my other computers. The Mini will make strange gurgling and hissing noises through the speakers at seemingly idle cpu times. Under heavy loads I get the gurgle occasionally but it seems more prevalent at idle times. After playing around with it I have noticed a direct correlation with my wireless connection and the noise. If the mini drops the network, which it does from time to time, I get the noises but if I disable airport then they stop. Have any other mini users experienced this? It's harmless but rather annoying because my mini is set up in my dorm room and we often have music playing and when I go to sleep I hear these weird noises.

The Airport sub-system in the mini is identical to any other Airport Extreme equipped Mac, with the addition of a riser board on which the AE card is mounted, and which no other Mac has.
If the mini suffered a design flaw in Airport implementation, then everyone would be hearing the same sound. Neither AE-eqipped minis I've got in my system exhibit any sign of it.
RF interference can get into an audio system in a number of ways - most commonly by direct injection (ie, something in the audio circuit such as a circuit board track or speaker wire) acting as an antenna and picking up an unwanted signal, or by FR breakthrough into the power circuit - usually through the transformer or rectifiers. In the first instance, a change in channel would change the transmission frequency and thus the sensitivity of the component to the signal (thus usually making it stop altogether) and in the second, would usually require a transmission power of significantly higher level than the few milliwatts used by Airport.
There are other possible causes too of course. Even a cordless phone in the same vicinity is capable of generating RF interference - but then stories of people listening to radio stations breaking through into phone lines, and even when opening oven doors are legion - and often true.
In the case of an Airport network, where the user has control over transmission power levels and frequency, a bit of tinkering with the two can resolve many FR interference issues. Incidentally, if you're interested (given your general technical background) a number of very informative sources on RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) are published for and by the amateur radio fraternity.

To solve some sound problems, just follow these simple steps
1. Go to Settings
2. Tap on General
3. Tap on Reset
4. Tap on Reset All Settings
What this effectively does is to reset some of your Settings to factory default. It’s not a complete removal of settings. It removes all of your preferences for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Do No Disturb, Notifications, General, Sounds, Brightness & Wallpaper and Privacy. It doesn’t affect your data. All of your email accounts will remain intact, as well as any SMS text or iMessages.

My apps have no sound without ear phones in(IP4).

Currently, my apps on my IP4 have no sound.
There is only sound when the phone plugged into the ear phone and listened through earphones.

If you do not hear sound from the speakers on your iPhone, these steps can help:
Verify that the volume is set to a level you would normally be able to hear.
Ensure that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack or the dock connector.
If the iPhone is in a protective case, make sure that the speaker port isn't blocked by the case.
Make sure that the speaker and dock port aren't clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush. Carefully and gently brush away any debris.
If an audio issue occurs when using a specific application, try testing other applications to see if the issue persists.
If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or car kit:
Try turning off Bluetooth.
If you experience difficulties with the Bluetooth feature, followthese troubleshooting steps.
Restart the iPhone.
If restarting doesn't fix the issue, ensure that your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS.
If the issue is not resolved after restoring the iPhone software, please contact Apple Support.

No sound from right ear phone

i took my ipod on a road trip. and i plugged it in my car through the ear phone plug. But when i got back i couldn't hear anything from the right ear phone, only if i push down on the head phones there'll be sound. it isn't the ear phone because i've tried differnt ear phones and all produce no sound from the right side.
HELP!

I have a Nano I think version 5 on the radio setting it keeps telling me to plug the ear phones in

When playing music I can hear it through the device & the ear phones. When I adjust the volume it only adjusts the volume coming from the device & not the ear plugs.

It's telling you to plug into a computer loaded with iTunes! You must highlight the iPod on the left side to make the Sync button available. This is because multiple devices can be simultaneously synced (wirelessly) from the same iTunes and you must decide which device you're syncing.
Also, Please read Chapter 2.
There have been some problems accessing pages on the Apple web site. If the hyperlink gives you a "We're sorry" message, try again.

Ear Phones Help

This is a really stupid question but - when I plug the ear phones into the phone why can you still hear the music from the phone? I can hear it through the ear phones as well but how do I turn off the music on the phone to just use the ear phones? Thanks for the help and yes, I am blonde...

If the earphones connector is fully inserted, you shouldn't hear music from the speaker.
