Constant panics..
I am constantly getting the beachball while trying to do things on my mac (been this way since I got it) and initially I was getting a lot of panic crashes where the screen gets greyed out and a little box appears telling me I need to hold the poer button to shut off my computer or press the reset button. Just in the past 2 days I have been getting a LOT of these panics again.....i have no idea where to go with this or what to do. Here is my panic log:

If you have recently purchased your Macbook and it is therefore under warranty, try the hardware test to check that the problem isn't the computer itself, if it is, then go back to the store your bought it from. If the test suggests that it isn't hardware, then please try the "solutions" contained in the link - I wasn't trying to fob you off with a re-install fix, but Macs are just computers - (very good ones too, I personally can vouch for), however, they can develop faults like any other man-made device. What I did say in my post was to try the fixes contained in the link first, and if no luck, then re-install.
From the link ..
"Insert the Apple Hardware Test CD that came with your computer (if one did). Use the extended test. >If any issues are found proceed to step 3, or contact AppleCare or your nearest Apple Authorized >Service Provider to arrange for diagnostics and service as necessary."
Best wishes,
Robert.

Step 1: Don't freak, throw phone out window (you could hit someone) or Panic!
Step 2: When you see this message on your screen, remove from charger and at the same time (simultaneously) press on the on/off switch at the top of the phone and the round button thing under the screen. This should blank out screen and reset.
Step 3: Plug back into charger
Step 4: Resume use and don't let your iPhone drain to no charge since that is what happened to me.
Good Luck and I hope this fixes your problem.

Mac Pro Mountain Lion Kernel Panic Dual Video Cards
I've been getting constant panics since upgrading to Mountain lion on my 2009 Mac Pro.
Worth noting is I have dual GT 120 Video Cards and dual 30" LCDs. Every panic seems to be caused by com.apple.NVDAResman
This computer has been rock solid since 2009 and only after "updating" to Mountain Lion has it become unstable.
Was hoping 10.8.1 and 10.8.2 would fix the issued, but neither have. It's worse than ever. Crashing every day.
Already reinstalled the OS, tested the RAM, etc. No change. Still crashes everyday.
What should I do? It's really eating into productivity...

This is chronic. Last time I reporetd this I was told to remove "No-Sleep" which I did even though Its is a needed app that should have been coded into the OS. Its happening again Imported some pics, browsed around, freeze comp shuts down. Here is the crash report I hope its ok to post it. Interval Since Last Panic Report: 581610 sec

I got a problem with constant panics and I think they might be related to what you discussed in this thread. I just don't know WHY the panic happens. Sometimes I guess the Mac (MBP mid 2009, 8GB RAM attached, OSX 10.9.3) get's very hot but without increasing the ventilation itself. Therefore I used SMC Fancontroll for a while but by doing stuff that need capacity of the graphics I think it crashes. Mostly while using iMovie/iPhoto, Watching DVD or streaming a movie. Using Garageband really works fine event though I am running 20-25 tracks at one time. So why the crashes that are not always related to "hard work"?
SMC reset - done
Clean Install of Mavericks - done (suspected a wired driver or system bug, and the mac runs faster now, but recently had a panic again)
Hardware running - only WD HDD for Backups
Here are my last 2 craslogs
This one before the new installation of OSX

Will apple replace a faulty or bad logic board on my 2013 MacBook Pro?
I have a late 2013 13" macbook pro that has been diagnosed, by a non apple provider, with a bad logic board. The place where i took it suggested getting that confirmed with Apple. I have an appointment tomorrow at my local apple dealer...
but am worried that this practically new laptop is toast or going to be very costly since I don't have applecare!! Any help for me????my late 2013 13" pro also has a bad logic board. The diag said it was a memory failure. I'm 3 months out of warranty and had it sent to the repair center for $280 plus tax. I don't feel like the logic board was defective I just didn't catch it in time. I tried a restore a few months ago and it worked better because i was in Yosemite beta since the developers beta and I thought the issues were because of the betas. It has constant panics and restarts but I was trying to get by until now it wouldn't turn on and disk utility said the hard drive was not mounted and it wouldn't let me restore It. maybe there are a few more people with problems then there should be so soon.

15" Macbook Pro Mid 2010 . Constant Kernel Panic and Reboot
Hello, im having this issue from six months ago. The problem its a constant rebooting of my mac , when turned on shows a Kernel Panic inform that i copy here. I have contacted the tech support here in my country ( Argentina ) but they can not solve the problem. They told me than cand be a logic board issue, but in all the hardware test the macbook get an OK ! The only strange they discover is a electric problem in the usb ports, but i dont have any problems whith pen drives or usb external disks.
The rebooting its unpredicible , but in some cases like using the spacebar for previewing files if i do it five or six times it reboots instantly showing then the Kernel Error.
I really nedd help !
Thank you, and sorry for the monkey insland English !

MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010): Intermittent black screen or loss of video
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested. The routine hardware diagnostics used by service providers may not detect the fault. There is a specific test for this issue.
Print the first page of the panic report, and the support page linked above, and bring them with you.
Note that the replacement program only applies within three years of purchase. If you wait beyond that date, Apple may refuse the service.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.
You may be able to stop the panics by disabling automatic graphics switching in the Energy Saver preference pane, but that's not a solution.
Most likely, the logic board will be replaced. Sometimes the replacement part is also defective, so be prepared for that possibility. -
Constant Kernel Panics on Mavericks 10.9.5
Hey Everyone,
I really hope someone out there can help me out because these recent kernel panics I've been getting are driving me crazy because they always happen right in the middle of some important project I'm working on.
Before I share the latest kernel panic diagnostic let me give you a bit of history on my computer. I'm running a late 2011 MBP with Mavericks 10.9.5. I had issues with the logic board in the past and got it replaced. I've only had the computer for a little over 2-2.5 years now, and started noticing lots of issues with it after an overall short period of time, mainly related to performance. The computer would run hot with the fans blazing just from watching an HD video on Youtube. Admittedly I do heavy graphics work with Adobe software and 3D apps like Cinema4D. Some of the research I've been doing regarding these kernel panics has lead me to believe that this could potentially be a heating issue. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. I decided that I would install more RAM in the computer, bringing it up from 8GB to 16GB. Apparently this Macbook model was only sold with a max of 8GB of RAM, but I heard that it could handle up to 16. So maybe this is potentially the issue, I am running more RAM than I'm "supposed" to, even though the system can technically handle it. Other people have reported issues with the Radeon graphics card (I've got the 6770 M installed).
It doesn't end there though, unfortunately. About two months or so ago I started having major problems with Dashboard. After running processor intensive applications (it would seem), Dashboard would start eating up crazy amounts of memory, stalling all my running programs. Some people said that turning off apps within Dashboard that constantly received data (like the weather app for example) could be causing this. I did that, but it didn't help. I would have to constantly go into Application Manager and kill Dashboard. Eventually I got fed up with doing this and found out how to permanently turn it off. That helped with the memory issues. But THEN the kernel panics started happening. They had happened very rarely in the past, but now it is literally every 2-3 days. And the last bit of info I can share to hopefully help someone figure this problem out for me is that I think the last two times they happened, it was while I was in the middle of typing up a document in Open Office. It definitely did just happen while using Open Office, but I can't confirm the previous one. I am going to be very careful to note exactly which application I am using when it happens from here on out.
Here's the Apple Diagnostic report from the last one:

I took a look into the Library/StartupItems folder and I can see the "tun" folder which correspondes to that foo.tun process. Should I just delete the folder? Doesn't seem to be any way to turn it "off". Also, I'm not sure how to turn off or disable Google Chrome Helper. I've been reading from various other people that it has been causing memory leak issues, but couldn't find any way to disable it. Some even said that after they uninstalled Chrome, the Helper app was still running. What should I do about that? Thanks. -
Constant kernel panic in regular boot sequence - HELP!
Hi,
I purchased my mac pro in march of 08. By june, my monitor had begun emitting a pink hue over everything. I replaced the monitor only to find that the problem was related to the computer itself, the pink color persisted on the new monitor. So I started using the one other working monitor port and researching the problem. I heard from a couple people that it sounded like a problem with my video card. It continued to worsen, the crash rate started to escalate slowly over a period of 4-5 months. Now it consistently crashes within 5 minutes of booting up, usually crashing immediately when the interface loads or shortly beforehand.
I took it into an apple certified technician to have it looked at. I brought only the computer itself since the problem had persisted on multiple monitors. One week later, they told me there was nothing wrong with the video card and they couldn't reproduce the problems i had described. So i bought a new vga/dvi converter and brought it home only to find the EXACT same issues on both monitor ports, pink screen or constant kernel panic.
So I zapped the PRAM 3 times, reset the power source, cleaned out the inside of the computer, played chinese firedrill with my ram cards, and rebooted in safemode. It FINALLY WORKS but ONLY in safemode which leads me to believe there is a faulty system extension or driver that is causing the kernel panic.
What is the simplest way to resolve this problem? I can't spend 5 hours isolating the possible .kext files. Will upgrading my OS to leopard fix these issues, i.e. replace the system extensions with new files that might eliminate the problem?
I appreciate anyone that can offer help. Thanks! Thanks BDAqua for your feedback!
I checked the panic log and the system log but still can't see what might be causing the problem. I tried booting from disk by pushing the 'd' key directly after the startup beep and before the gray screen appears to no avail. I also tried the 'c' key, command-'d', and option-'d' to no avail. When i access the bootdisk from the volume on my desktop and click 'install mac os x' i get the following error:
"Mac os 10.4 cannot be installed on this machine. Please consult the documentation for a list of supported Macintosh computers."
This seems odd since i am running 10.4.11. Below is a sample entry from the kernel panic log and the correlated logs from system log at the time of the panic. Is there anything else i can do? I don't understand why the mac tech support wasn't able to reproduce these debilitating problems.

Constant Kernel Panic in OS X! HELP!
Hey All!
I got major problems with my Mac Pro.
I continue to get Kernel Panic duing Software Update, Moving big amounts of files around, using different applications (everything from apple apps, games and Photoshop/Modo).
I just reinstalled my comp and resettet my harddisk (wrote all zeroes to it) and got Grey Screen Of Death (please restart your computer) again. I booted my Mac Pro up as external harddisk and used my iBook disk utility to write zeroes to my Mac Pro Harddisk and it worked. Now after installing OS X, it supricingly crashed again with kernel panic.
I did a hardware test using the DVD's i got with my Mac Pro. It said everything was in perfect order :/
heres my panic.log

All help is much appriciated! Sorry for my bad english.
I dont know what to do to get rid of this constant kernel panic shutdowns
Please write if you need more information. At the moment i dont know what to do.First you cannot format the Mac Pro using Disk Utility on your iBook. You need to use the Disk Utility on the OS X Installer Disc that came with the Mac Pro. Insert the OS X Installer Disc (Mac Pro) then restart the computer. After the chime press and hold down the "C" key until the gray startup screen with the dark gray Apple logo appears. Release the key when the spinning gear appears.
Extended Hard Drive Preparation
1. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. Then select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger.)
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Set the number of partitions from the dropdown menu (use 1 partition unless you wish to make more.) Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled, if supported.) Click on the Option button and select the GUID partition scheme option then click on OK. Click on the Partition button and wait until the volume(s) mount on the Desktop.
4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled, if supported.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
6. Click on the Erase button. The format process will take 30 minutes to an hour or more depending upon the drive size.
7. After formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer. Now proceed to install OS X.
If the computer kernel panics when starting from the DVD then there is likely a hardware problem. You can run the hardware test by again restarting with the OS X Installer Disc and after the chime press and hold down the "D" key until the hardware test screen appears. I suggest you run the long tests to see if any hardware faults are detected.
Hardware problems can only be resolved by taking the computer to your local Apple service center.
Why reward points?(Quoted from Discussions Terms of Use.)
The reward system helps to increase community participation. When a community member gives you (or another member) a reward for providing helpful advice or a solution to their question, your accumulated points will increase your status level within the community.
Members may reward you with 5 points if they deem that your reply is helpful and 10 points if you post a solution to their issue. Likewise, when you mark a reply as Helpful or Solved in your own created topic, you will be awarding the respondent with the same point values. -
My macbook pro (Mid-2010; Mountain Lion) has been crashing to Kernal Panics more and more frequently; from few times a week to now around twice a day. It's getting really fustrating and not sure what is causing it. I hope its not a hardware problem; but I think its might be Chrome, as it seems to eat alot of my harddisk space with getting constant 'Your startup disk is full' popups.
I've switched over to Safari for now and hopefully it wont crash.
I'm not sure how to paste up my Kernel Panic log; this is from Logs>DiagnosticReports:

com.apple.kec.corecrypto 1.0You have the MacBookPro6,2, the Edsel of Macs. You might be able to resolve the problem by reinstalling OS X. Try that first, if you haven't done so already. Otherwise, you may be covered by this program:
MacBook Pro getting constant kernel panics right since updating to 10.8.5
Hello,
I have my personal MacBook Pro and I've noticed that since I've updated the OS to Mountain Lion, I'm getting kernel panics for the first time since I've been using Macs, and it's getting more constant, up to the poin I've just had 3 in a row.
I've been reading that MacBooks from Mid 2011 may have a problem with the graphic card, and as far as I remember, I got mine about that time, and all my .panic files seem to point into the GPU direction.
I have the panic files for the panics that happened this last month, and I'm copying the last one, that happened just 15 minutes ago.

Is this one of those Macbooks or this may be a different problem?
Thank youYou have the MacBookPro6,2, the Edsel of Macs. It may be covered by this program:
MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010): Intermittent black screen or loss of video
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider, to have the machine tested.
In that case, you'll be quoted a price of about $300 (in the U.S.) for a depot repair. The model was discontinued in February 2011, so the replacement program will be ending quite soon.
Sometimes the replacement part is also defective, so be prepared for that possibility.
If it's too late for your unit to be repaired under the program, and you don't want to pay for a new logic board, you may be able to stop the panics by disabling automatic graphics switching.
*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed. -
Brand new MBP Retina constant kernal panics
I have a new MBP Retina with Mavericks 10.9.4 installed. I have received constant kernal panics since a few days into it. It seemed as though they were being cause by the io/logic boards, but those have both been replaced now. OS has been reinstalled multiple times to no avail. BSD and kernals blamed are all over the place (Dock, WindowsServer, mds; filesystems, AppleSMBusController, IOAcceleratorFamily)
The latest kernal panic is as follows:

I've got many more where that came from. I just don't want to post a wall of text.An update on my situation.
I had my macbook pro replaced with a brand new one by Apple, which was brilliant customer service.
Before giving back the old macbook, I decided to copy all my essential documents over to a usb stick. I also formatted my time machine external drive so it was blank.
Rather than restore this new macbook using my time machine backup, I set it up as a new machine and copied just my documents from my usb stick. I then proceeded to carry out fresh installs of software I regularly use but nothing non-essential (namely Spotify, Firefox, Chrome, xCode, Adobe CS5, Squidman, MAMP and Office 2011).
For three days everything worked beautifully - until last night when I had my first kernel panic on this machine. Nothing was running apart from firefox when this panic occured. The report is below and states the process which was running was 'plugin-container' which is part of firefox.
Below is the log output:
Sat Aug 30 01:51:53 2014

I'm running the latest OS X Mavericks - all updated to date.
I've tested the thunderbolt display with a friends MacBook Air and I see no problems there.
Any clues what is going on? Or it this latest Kernel Panic just a coincidence compared to my previous macbook?
Thanks in advance! -
Can anyone assist me with these constant kenel panics?
I have been getting these constant kernel panics for weeks. I have been in contact with apple on several occasions with multiple system wipes and have been every trouble shooting scenario. The local apple store insists it is not a hardware issue. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

CLASS ACTION FILED AGAINST APPLE FOR DEFECTIVE MACBOOK LOGIC BOARDS
I was one of the many unfortunate individuals who ended up paying Apple the $310 repair fee (more than $400 total, diagnostics included) to fix what was a defective logic board causing constant kernel panics. I don't think the suit has come to a conclusion or a settlement has been reached, but after spending the last month or so on this board trying to diagnose my kernel panics, I figured many others with similar problems would be interested in knowing about this.
If anyone has any more up-to-date information on the suit or on what individuals should do if they believe they fall into the Plaintiff Class, please share!CLASS ACTION FILED AGAINST APPLE FOR DEFECTIVE MACBOOK LOGIC BOARDS
