Constant problems with BT!

My ON demand service went down last month in which i contacted BT, they did all the checks and this led to an apppointment for an engineer as the mb was below usual. The engineer came and said he changed some cable in our flat(not to mention he took a board down and didn't replace this!), I rang BT to reset the Box etc and still no ON demand! After i told them i would now have to book a day off work and book ANOTHER appointment for ANOTHER engineer to come out i recieved a text. They had booked the appointment without me aggreeing to this! :#
This was cancelled and in the midst of all that the box went Blurry few days after that and had to report another fault! You can't book 2 engineers for tv / broadband so 1 was booked to sort tv box out, they sorted this yesterday so i rang bt - Now they said there were no Engineers avail on that day and i would have to book another appointment! I explained that i can't have any more days off and i was told previously that it was a priority as a 2nd Engineer had to be assigned as the fault was not fixed the 1st time!
I don't think that they know what they are doing let alone understand how angry this makes a customer when you pay good miooney for a service you arent recieving!
After all this i am considering leaving, does any one have any tips?

Hi killeen10,
Were you able to get another appointment booked in the end?
Keep us posted, if you're still having trouble getting this progressed we can take a closer look at this fault.

For the last few weeks I have had constant problems with pages not working. I.E.: I cannot fill in writeable fields, click on buttons... or anything... nothing on the page works. And, this is not exclusive to a particular site. It does seem to be a browser issue, because I can work well in Explorer.

Both the Yahoo! Toolbar extension and the Babylon extension have been reported to cause an issue like that. Disable or uninstall those add-ons.

  • Constant problems with Java since upgrade to OS X 10.7

I recently purchased a Macbook Air with OS X 10.7 installed, now updated to version 10.7.5.
I'm having constant issues with Java and repeatedly being told to update to the latest version, even when I have the latest version installed (now Java 7 update 9). I've visited dozens of forums and seen posts about the same issue, but none of the solutions work for me.
I've seen variations of the following advice in several places:
Apple disables the Java plug-in and Webstart applications when the Java update is done using Software Update. Also, if the Java plug-in detects that no applets have been run for an extended period of time it will again disable the Java plug-in.
    To enable the Java plug-in
Go to Finder > Applications > Utilities > Java Preferences.
In the Java Preferences window check the box for Enable Applet plug-in and Webstart applications.
But I can't find anything called "Java Preferences" in my Utilities folder. I found a Java control panel in my System preferences, and it tells me everything is OK and running.
I also see comments about emptying the cache (Java cache?), but can't find where it's kept. I also can't find where the Java plugins are stored. So what to do?
    Thanks for any assistance.
    Martha

I went to the link on the Support website, downloaded the Java from there (Java for OS X 2012-006) and installed it. Then I went to the Java control panel in System prefs and the information is exactly the same as it was before I installed Java version 6. It still says I have the recommended version of Java (Java 7 update 9), which is what I installed a few hours ago.
Then I went back to the website where I've been having problems today and went through the process of requesting a document from the Spanish tax authorities, which I've never had trouble with in the past (before Lion). I got the same results as earlier and the same page sending me to www.java.com to "download the latest version". So I'm back to square one.
There's a comment on the page your link sent me to that mentions the "Missing plug-in" region on some web pages, but I've never seen this anywhere. All I ever get is a message telling me to update my Java.
Is there another version of Java that would work better? If so, where can I get it?
    Thanks.

  • IPhone has constant problems with Computer-To-Computer network

I use a Computer-To-Computer network to connect my iPhone with my MacBook Pro when I'm at the office. This enables syncing of Things and OmniFocus between my iPhone versions of these programs and the versions on my MacBook Pro. I have one of the original (2G) iPhones. I daily go to my Airport icon on my Mac's menu bar, click on Create Network, and set up a password. I'm using 40-bit WEP.
This sort of syncing procedure worked fairly well until iPhone OS 3.0. Ever since then, it's been completely unreliable. I've tried changing the channel a number of times, and of course rebooting both the iPhone and the computer dozens of times. It's still a problem.
Anyone heard of this networking problem with 3.0? Any info appreciated! Thanks.

yes, i have been having problems with computer to computer networking to iphone as well. for now, the only thing that keeps a steady connection is removing the sim card, so keep a paper clip handy.

  • Constant Problems with Ideapad Y510P Trials and Tribulations no one wants to help me with

My trials and tribulations with my Ideapad Y510P, this website, the Customer Service, and the Repair Department are as dauntless, perilous, and stressful as the journey up Mount Doom to cast the One Ring into the fiery depths to end the reign of chaos Sauron raught to Middle-Earth. It begins with my external/slide-in Graphics Card turning on and off and outright stopping to work and putting all the burden on the internal graphics card (of the same kind). Ultimately I'm told to try out SLI and come to this website to find a shoddy trouble-shoot resolution to try and trick the OS and computer to use SLI properly to share the burden of more stressful games and games all together (which I didn't even TOUCH; it's above my knowledge of computers). For a small time it works but in the end the external graphics card stops working completely and all the burden is given to the internal graphics card which it too stops working. Eventually my laptops screen stops working as well and the OS, I had to crack open an old monitor to see what was going on, on my computer, when I turned it on the lenovo screen was constantly flickering like something out of a horror movie or a foreboding warning of what was to come that I'm now dealing with. I figure I should install Windows 7 because at this point and my lack of knowledge I have no idea how to reinstall Windows 8 from a non-properly working laptop with no CD Drive. In the beginning I thought two graphics card would be perfect for more stressful games, sharing the burden to ease it so they don't overheat; well that idea and thought process was shot out the window and into a corner where it was beaten to a bloody pulp. So I remove the HD from the laptop, go downstairs to my Desktop and hook it up and install Windows 7 into it, in hopes of maybe resolving issues or trying to at least get to the desktop to figure something out. Well it absolutely did nothing. So I bite the bullet and send it into the "Repair Department" thinking WHAT. COULD. POSSIBLY. GO. WRONG. I get it back today at around noon with all my hopes and dreams to find out that instead of putting Windows 8 back into the Y510P I'm given a Windows 7 Desktop asking me for a CD KEY that I don't have, this isn't even the same CD OS I installed onto it but one from the Repair Department asking for a CD KEY I have no means of acquiring. I also find out that apparently it wasn't the Graphics Cards at all but the MOTHERBOARD. OF COURSE! (sarcasm) SO I CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE Customer Service tells me they can't give me the the CD Key because they have no correlations to the Repair Department (this is starting to sound like a bad divorced couple) so they can't give me the CD Key, let alone email it to me. So I ask to talk to the Supervisior (who is probably the nicest thing that has happened thus far in my trails of Lenovo and the Misadventures of O_Green_World). He tells me that the motherboard is set to work with Windows 8 best and that I can install BIOS for Windows 7 on the website and to reinstall my copy of Windows 7 the way I did it before giving it to Lenovo, and or waiting for this Windows 8 CD which isn't even an OS but some sort of way to contact the Windows 8 on the Motherboard to install it that way (which is being mailed to me now). Now here is my fresh new problem with this whole shindig. I've installed my copy of Windows 7 onto my Lenovo Y510P. It doesn't have the installation drivers for the Ethernet or Network Controller, under Device Manager they are under "Other Devices" in the Device Manager window. So I can't can't a Ethernet Cable let alone Wifi in order to go onto Lenovo's website to download Windows 7 BIOS/Drivers for Y510P. ALSO, ALSO, if the computer falls asleep it doesn't wake up at all I have turn off the computer and turn it back on. For all that is good in the world please, someone, somewhere help. [Edit] - I just had to seperate my **bleep** post because it posted it as a giant wall of text.

    Hello Sachin,
Here is the latest version of the code , I have tried many. I am not familiar with code that is why I came from Dreamweaver to Muse. Laugh, it would make you cry.
Dreamweaver is advertised as wysiwyg which it certainly is not. Muse advertises that you can build a website without knowing code( as long as you do not want to put a  simple run of the mill animation on your site)! Having had my usual grouse I still love Muse as it does everything, well nearly everything it says it will do, and makes building a reasonable site possible for someone who has very little knowledge. Once you have sorted the code out I probably will need to talk to you again when it comes to uploading to server as I can see from the forums that this seems to be a weekness of the system also. Thanks for your cheerful reply to my utterly unreasonable previous communication and I look forward to you solving all my problems. I think' IT' is the only business in the world where people pay good money for products that don't work and are then told to go and chat amongst themselves on forums to see if they can solve the problems collectively. Couldn't resist that one I'm afraid. Old and grumpy! I hope you can access the code. I have no idea where it is but I copied it here in the html frame. I even find it difficult to use this forum. User friendly!

  • Constant problems with logic 8 (only in last 2 weeks)

    Hi,
I've been using logic pro 8 since the day it came out, and have had hardly any problems with it.
Now all of a sudden it is crashing all the time, sometimes it just totally loses sound and my monitors just click and pop, or other times i get random 'blasts' of white noise through my left monitor!!
I put snow Leopard on a few days ago and it appears to be worse than ever for crashing now.
Anyone else had similar problems or know what the deal is here?
    Many thanks

Today I had this white noise bursts for the 1st time since I upgraded to LP9...the project is super simple...an audio track - flexed and muted ...and the bounce in place regions created from that on a second audio track...I was doing some fades so I was moving back and forth to the regions to listen and adjust the fades...

  • Constant problems with external HD used for time machine.

I have had numerous problems with my backup disk and can't seem to solve the problem... I often get errors with disk not ejecting properly, sometimes when the iMac has gone to sleep, sometimes not. Often the Mac won't recognise the disk when plugged back in (it recognises the other partition though). I can get the disk in disk utility sometimes, but if I run repair disk it finds a lot of errors and tells me it can't fix the disk. I'm told to Backup, format the disk etc.
Running yosemite on a 2008 iMac - disk is Hitachi 1TB usb powered (plugged straight in to iMac). I have prevented spotlight from indexing the HD.
Any advice ideas? Thanks in advance.

    I can't because it's a specific type.
Is it hard-wired to the enclosure? If not, examine the connectors and compare with what is available. I doubt that it has a connector that is unique to this particular drive.
If you choose to replace the drive, don't get another manufacturer-branded external. They are often "crippled" so that they can't be used in anything other than the generally cheap enclosure in which they are packaged, or only usable if you re-format them. Here's a comment from a recent Macintouch thread on new Seagate 5TB externals (http://www.macintouch.com/readerreports/harddrives/index.html#d23mar2015):
A word of warning for those who want to rip out their drive. If you have data on it, it will only be read by Seagate controllers such as its original case or the GoFlex adapters. If you stick it in something like an IcyDock, it cannot be read and require a reformat. If you used it with another controller, it cannot be read when you put it back on the Seagate controllers.
A good quality enclosure, such as the OWC Mercury aluminum cases, is a good investment. You can choose the drive you install, and you usually get a better drive warranty that way.

  • Constant Problems with ITunes

I have two continuing problems with ITunes which are incredibly annoying.
When I start Itunes on about one in three occasions it immediately shuts down again.
And it regularly shuts down after ripping a cd but without ripping the final track of the cd - and this happens irrespective of the number of tracks on the cd.
I have tried reinstalling itunes but it does not cure the problem.
Never had any problems with previous versions of ITunes. GRrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!

  • Constant "Problem with Shortcut" Every Time iTunes updates

Sorry to vent, but this really bugs me.
Ok, this can't be hard to fix and isn't hard for ME to fix when I update iTunes, but this is REALLY, REALLY, REALLY annoying.
Here's the issue. Every time iTunes updates itself, it invalidates every Shortcut for the executable. I get "Problem with Shortcut" Windows Window and which says "This action is only valid for products that are currently installed."
This happens EVERYTIME iTunes updates itself, which seems very often.
It is really, really annoying. And it ONLY happens with iTunes (no other software - for example Firefox doesn't do this), which says to me that Apple can't be bothered to make sure that the path to their new executable is the same as the old when they do the update. Actually, now that I look at it, it looks like it is somehow deleting the path in the existing shortcuts when it updates, which sounds like a bug.
Any decent usability testing would find this and quickly fix this, but this happens on EVERY windows computer I have EVERY time iTunes updates itself, and it has been there for at least the last 5 upgrades, so I know it is not a 1 off thing only I am seeing.
Please, please, please fix this in your next patch.
    Thanks.

Add me to the list of the angry. Safari on Windows does this too.
Apple apps are the only ones I've ever seen on Windows to do this. I don't even understand how/why it happens - does it take the time to find all the shortcuts (which are separate files it would have to search your HD for) and deliberately break their paths?! If Apple are going to make windows applications, it'd be nice if they swallowed their pride and learnt the windows platform and its norms. 99.999% of other software vendors have figured out how to make shortcuts that work...
The worst thing about this is that the error message (admittedly, I think it's a windows message) gives the impression you have to reinstall iTunes! A quick Google search shows that a fair few people think that's the solution.
*If you're getting this problem: there's no need to uninstall or reinstall iTunes!* the problem is with the shortcut only, not the program. To fix it, find a working shortcut to iTunes (as mentioned above, there's normally a fresh one in your start menu somewhere) and drag it wherever you need it, then delete the old one. If you can't find a working one, browse to "program files"->"itunes" on your hard drive, select itunes.exe, go to File->Create Shortcut. A new shortcut will be made in that folder, that you can put wherever you like.

  • CONSTANT problems with Airport Express in two rooms, dropped connection with gateway, no AirPlay

I have 3 Airport Express in my apartment, one is connected (named Living Room) to my ISP provided gateway (router) and acts as the main wireless hub, the other two (named Kitchen and Bedroom) and are set up to provide AirPlay audio only.
The ones set up for AirPlay have had constant issues since we moved to our new place 4 months ago, this is very strange because we were with the same ISP in the old place and used the same gateway (router) without any problems which leads me to think that there is something in the walls in the new place which is blocking an effective signal.
Even as I type this, I have Airport Utility open on my Mac and a message just popped up from AU saying that 'Living Room is unavailable'.
Attached is a screenshot which shows the current status of the Airport network. Basically it is a mess, and I have tried everything, from resetting the ISP router and all the AXPs, to changing the Network Modes to experimenting with repositioning the units to points in rooms where the reception might be better.
    NOTHING has made any difference.

Sorry, have been away for work so only just had a chance to look again at this:
I'lll try again: right now using WiFI Explorer I can see 9 other networks, 3 of those are using channel 11, the same as my Airport Express network. (Set to Automatic in Airport Utility)
What I tried to explain earlier was that the one in the kitchen will not stay connected long enough for me to get a reading on WiFi Explorer, but I can tell you that I powered up the one in the bedroom at 19:56, it is currently connected in Extend Wireless Network mode (the one in the kitchen is disconnected from the power) and has an average SNR of 59dB (and shows as 'Excellent' in Airport Utility) and so far it has not dropped the connection, but I am 99% certain that it will be back to blinking amber by tomorrow.
So there is one Airport Express in the living room which is the one that has created the wireless network, within the living room the Average SNR is around 60% (as you would expect as that is the unit that is wired to the ISP provided router).
Since I connected the one in the bedroom earlier this evening it has managed to stay connected and appears to still be extending the network, I checked it just now by standing next to it with WiFi Explorer open on my MacBook Pro and it showed an average SNR of 55%.
I ordered a 10 metre ethernet cable yesterday and I will try relocating the unit that is set to create the wireless network to a place in the living room that is closer to the bedroom and kitchen. It is currently on a shelf on the TV bank which is about two metres away from the wall closest to the kitchen.
I will report back here once I have moved it and set up the kitchen and bedroom boxes again. Hopefully this will allow the kitchen one to stay connected long enough for me to get a reading on WiFi Explorer.

  • I am having a constant problem with my iMac finding my wireless keyboard

Can someone help with my problem? My PPC repeatedly cannot find my wireless keyboard

On what Mac running what version of OS X?

  • I have had constant problems with my Verizon broadband internet service, and can only assume I will need to cancel my contract.

According to Verizon, my family is somehow using 15 to 16 GB of data per month on our unlimited data plan, sometimes more. This is a jump from 4 to 6 GB in the spring of 2012. We have done nothing to justify such a huge surge in data usage per month, but I don't seem to be able to get any satisfactory answer from Verizon as to what's going on. Our time spent on the Internet is no different than it's ever been. Last month, customer service tried to suggest that a virus we had had on one of our computers must have caused the computer to suck up data without our knowledge, but the virus is gone and our data usage just keeps getting worse. To make matters even more painful, such high "usage" causes Verizon to slow our UNLIMITED data service to such a snail's pace that we can't get anything substantial done online. And, for some reason, we now constantly lose our signal. We are connected via USB, which is a poor way to connect, granted. But it worked fine in the spring of this year. In fact, it was faster than anything we had had previously. Go figure? I tried to download Java last week, and the computer indicated it would take 15hrs to download. What a waste!
Apparently, my only option is to switch to MiFi (we are in a rural location lacking DSL) for my household. And this will cost me at least $60 more per month. Why, pray tell, would I want to pay more money to solve a problem that Verizon cannot satisfactorily explain to me if there are no guarantees MiFi will work any better? I cannot get my money back if it fails to improve our situation. And what about the supposed data usage? Am I supposed to believe that my kids' Facebook time combined with our internet surfing eats up 3 to 4 times as much data as it did only a few months ago? I don't think so. Something is not adding up here. Oh...I do have one other option. Home Fusion broadband added to our account for even more money per month.
Bottom line? Spend more money that I don't have for unreliable service, with what I believe to be bogus data usage charges. I think I just need to cancel Internet service, paying the fee for breaking my contract of course, and take my business elsewhere.
Anyone else having these sorts of problems? What have you done about it?

Regardless with what carrier your with you might have the same issue, My recommendation would be to get a router that will help you with viewing live traffic and keep a tally of your usage and any device connected to your internet connection.  You can go with the peplink balance 20 and be able to look at your traffic by the hour, daily, weekly, monthly or yearly.  Look for trends, see what computers or devices are doing what I attached a screen shot so you can see an example of mine.  You can purchase the router at 3gstore

  • Constant problems with size of windows

Guys, I am having this problem for 2 months already and it would be great if you could help... Maybe I just don't know something simple but anyway - I can't understand what's going on with size of the windows - in all programs, not just Safari. Before Mac I was using PC and everything was simple - there are 2 options - full screen view and smaller view that had fixed size and it was easy to switch between them. And when I made the window smaller or larger everything in it fit to the size and there were no problems. With Mac, something strange is going on. First of all, there is no such thing as full screen view - every time I open new window in any program, I have to drag the corners to make it full screen as it opens it as half screen. When I press on the plus button to make it smaller it makes the size very strange, very narrow and long. And again, I have to correct it manually. When I go back to full screen view it again becomes half a page instead of full screen. So, every time I have to change window sizes manually. And more than that, when I do that the page doesn't fit to screen. For example lets say I open document folder with icons - so when I make it smaller it cuts the part of the icons from the view and I have to rearrange them to see them all, And again, when I go back to full screen view the layout of the icons doesn't change - they are still arranged to fit smaller view. Also, in Word, formatting panels don't take the whole line and the page looks very weird and the rest of the line with formatting tools becomes empty and when I click on it it takes me outside of word, I hope you understand what I am trying to explain... Anyway, could you please explain me what's going on? Is there a way to fix window sizes? It's so inconvenient, I am starting to miss my old pc...:(((

The Mac Window has never automatically filled the screen, even when the Mac could only run one program at a time. At that time most programs had a Window menu that could be used to switch between open documents but I think most users tiled their windows so that they could switch from document to document by just clicking on the document's window. When multi-tasking came to the Mac we had an application switcher (a menu in the top right hand corner) but still, most of us continued to tile windows and switch between applications by clicking on open windows. This habit is so firmly engrained in old Mac users that even now that we have the ability to command tab between applications, (not to mention Expose) you'll still see Mac users tiling their windows and switching by clicking on windows. When Mac users get together to complain about Windows, one of the things we all agree on is how limiting the Windows application layer is. We don't like fully maximized windows.
Most applications automatically open a window just as big as it needs to be and no more. In other words, most word processor will open a new window so that the page can be display, but no further. For applications that have a large toolbar above the document area, this sometimes means you can't see all the tools but is this a flaw of the window logic or has the toolbar been stuffed too full?
There are times when this behavior isn't entirely logical, or doesn't appear logical. The Finder is a really good example - a really good example of a really bad program. Old time Mac users who care/think about application design agree that the Finder has been broken since the first version of OS X and has only gotten marginally better through 5 iterations. Browsers are another strange bird because it is hard to know how big a browser window needs to be - it is entirely dependent upon the site you are visiting.
While there appears to be no logic behind window behavior, there generally is - even in the Finder. Unlike Windows (at least pre-Vista Windows) there's really only been one window's logic - open to fill the entire screen. With the Mac the logic is more complex, but is generally grounded in logic based around ease of use.
Your complaint about the Finder windows and icons is caused by the fact that you haven't set a default organization method. While in the Finder, open a window and set it for icon view, then select *Show View Options* the View menu. Make all the selections you'd like in the dialog but be sure to select an option for *Arrange by* and I suggest Name. From now on not only will the icons always arrange themselves in alphabetical order but as you resize the window the icons will automatically move around to fill the window rather than hiding off to the side. Note: the last choice is set as defaults and if you click on this, all windows that are in Icon view will use these settings. You can change the window each of the other views and set similar defaults for those views.
I don't understand your complaint about Word - maybe someone else will or you could try explaining it again in more detail.

  • Constant problems with sound..

For the past couple of weeks, I've noticed that my left earbud is either static-y or doesn't work at all. I thought it was my earbud so I used three other headphones and all encounter the same problem.
It MUST be the Shuffle itself because I tested the headphones on other sources (iPod Mini, computer) and both earbuds have worked fine.
Anyone have any recommendations before I send this off to Apple??

    Hi James,
I think its probably best that you send this one off
to Apple straight away. This is obviously not normal
and since you've identified that the problem still
occurs when used with other headphones; the unit must
be faulty. I would recommend sending it to Apple via
    this
online form as its quick and easy and there's no
    'middle man'.
Alternatively you could take the ipod into an Apple
Store, or you could phone Apple.
    Sam
When I was filling out the order to get my iPod Shuffle fixed, it required me to pay a S&H fee of, I think, $29.95. If I sent this in to an iPod store, would they be able to fix it there so I wouldn't need to pay for the S&H??
(I am still under my year warranty, but it has been past six months.)

  • Constant Problems With Linksys Wirless Router

Ever since I bought this Linksys Wireless Router it's been the same ordeal. At certain times, depending on what websites I visit, it will knock me right off the internet and I can't get back on unless I restart my computer. It is so aggravating and annoying and takes like 10 minutes to restart each time. I was assured that the Linksys Wireless Router I bought was compatible with Vista. I've had this same problem ever since I bought it. I've talked to tons of technical support staff and none of them know anything. They all give me a different reason. They tell me I need to download new drivers or the latest version or whatever else, but nothing works. The same problem persists. One thing I have learned is that I get knocked off by going on specific websites. So, in order to use the Internet, I must avoid these known websites that cause me to get knocked off the Internet. I can try and reconnect, but it always says that no network connections are available afterwards, and I must restart my whole computer to get back on the Internet. I am perfectly fine going on these known websites on my other computer that has the actual modem/router hook up. Anyone know why this happens and if there's anyway to fix this? If not I am just going buy me a whole new router/modem cause I am tired of this crap. Thanks, Blake

Change the MTU size on the router to 1300 ... Also reset the browser security settings ....

  • Constant problems with HP DeskJet 952C

This printer prints well, but somewhere along the line under OSX it became intermittent. I would try to print from Word, Safari, Photoshop Elements, or pretty much any program- and, after seeing the dialog box with "Opening printer connection," the job would stop, and I would have to power the printer off and on, or even Reset Printing System from the Printer Setup Utility.
HP just issued a new driver, 3.3, for this printer (after years of neglect), and I have installed it, but the problem persists. I tried a Gimp driver last year, and found the print quality poor.
Does anyone have any ideas on making this printer print reliably? I will never buy another HP product.

Since opening my new iMac and plugging in my printer, the system recognizes it as an HP 5550 series and offers me the Gutenprint 5.2.3 driver. If I manually specify the printer, it offers me either the 5550 or 5551 models (conspicuously NOT the 5552 one which I have), Both are the Gutenprint 5.2.3.
According to http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669?viewlocale=en_US, the Gutenprint 5550 and 5551 are the only drivers included with Snow Leopard.
I've installed HP's printer utility, which runs fine: it will print Test and Diagnostic pages without problems. It's only when I try to get it to print something (anything!) from the Mac, be it text or a photo, that I get either blank sheets or just garbage.
How did you install the utility? Since HP hasn't released a Snow Leopard driver for this printer, it sounds like you might have installed an unsupported version.
I've downloaded the latest driver patch for OS X from HP, despite which I still only see the options for the 5550 and 5551 printers in the Driver List (and they're both listed as Gutenprint 5.2.3). I've even tried installing the software from the printer's bundled CD.
Using Software Update won't help since there aren't any (updated) drivers from HP, but you can see if the updated Gutenprint driver, v5.2.5 will help.

    Hope this helps.
