Constant reboot problem with 8530

My 8530 has gone into a perpetual reboot mode.  Tried battery pulls, tried to get the OS reloaded, and a variety of pull the battery/run loader scenarios.  Nothing seems to take.  I can interrupt the reboot cycle with battery removed, and the OS appears to be loading, however as soon as the battery is replaced, it goes back into redlight/hourglass/flash of the boot screen/off/redlight. etc....
Any thoughts on how to solve this are most welcome.

Thank you for all the replies. Upgrading to the latest Nvidia IDE-drivers did not fix my problem. Moving to other SATA-ports did not help either. Upgrading the mobo's BIOS is not really an option (I'm using one version before the most recent and there isn't anything in the fixlist of the latest BIOS).
Now I've contacted Maxtor for (hopefully) a new firmware.

  • Reboot problem with MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum and 250 GB SATA HDD

I'm having a "reboot" problem with my MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum. After turning my system on it will run without any problems, until I reboot. After a reboot it will always hang after the initial windows-bootscreen. The HDD-light will remain on. If, instead of going into Windows XP SP2, I try to enter the BIOS after a reboot (DEL) the system will also hang (blank screen with blinking cursor).
It started doing this after I installed the Maxtor 250 GB SATA disk. Before, I didn't have problems rebooting. If I disconnect the Maxtor drive I can reboot and enter BIOS and Windows each and every time. Reconnecting the Maxtor 250 GB SATA drive will return the reboot problem. I always have to use the power swith to get a working system again. It's not enough to do a hard reset (this has the same effect as rebooting).
Here are the details of my system:
    MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum (BIOS 1.B)
    Athlon 64 3200+ (Winchester, 2 Ghz, 512 KB cache, stepping DH-D0)

    PSU Antec Sonata 380W
HDD Maxtor 80Gb ATA (6Y080P0, Pri Master)
    HDD Seagate 250Gb SATA (ST3200822AS)
HDD Maxtor 250Gb SATA (6V250F0 - jumpered in SATA150 mode, the mobo wouldn't work with the drive in SATA300-mode)
Aopen COM5232/AAH Pro CD-Writer ATA (Sec Master)
BenQ DW1640 DVD-Writer ATA (Sec Slave)
P.S. The NVidia IDE-drivers are NOT installed. System is not overclocked.

Thank you for all the replies. Upgrading to the latest Nvidia IDE-drivers did not fix my problem. Moving to other SATA-ports did not help either. • Reboot problems with iMac dual intel 1.83 OS 10.4.6

Needing help. Mac user since 1999 but I'm feeling like a novice with this. Wife was playing Sims 2 when it locked up and wouldn't allow the game to be turned off. Did a forced restart, disk went to the grey screen with the spinning gear for an extended period. Went to bed and the next morning the blue screen was on with OS X label as if computer was booting successfully but the hard drive sounded as if it was stuck in a loop. Got the installation disc and figured out how to eject the game and install the disc. Did safe boot and computer will goto the grey screen with the spinning gear and then will turn itself off.
Tried to reinstall OS X 10.4.4 while archiving in a separate folder and after verifying the disc the install fails. Ran hardware check came back o.k. Tried to boot from install disc and it just takes me back to the install disc start-up. Ran disc utility to repair premissions and it hung up after 30 minutes and the hard drive sounded like it was stuck in a loop. Ran disc utility to repair hard drive, first checks came back o.k. and then stated it was not completed due to an underlying issue when it tried to back out.
The hard drive is partitioned from boot camp, deleted windoze and tried to install OS X on the 20 gigs partitioned. The disc again verified but then failed- which threw me for a loop (does not appear dirty or scratched). My intention was to boot up on the partition and then try to retrieve pictures and videos on the hard disc, unfortunately only 1/2 is currently backed up.
I have not tried fsck yet because I was confused how to get to it, I think I am supposed to use the start up disc and go to the terminal application then enter the command, is this correct?
Unfortunately I am having to type this at work while the computer is at home- so if there are suggestions please dump them on me and I will try all of them tonight. No broken folders, kernal panics or exclamation points thus far.
    Thanks for all the help.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
When you verified with disk utility the disk, you basically ran fsck. Permissions are another factor here, but the fact it failed the disk check suggest major directory problems with the hard disk. Unfortunately the only third party directory repair utilities that I know work well currently are for PowerPC Macs only. If you have another Mac, suggest putting the iMac in target disk mode and see if it is seen by the other Mac. The target disk mode is described by this article:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58583
If it is, then you can recover your data.
If it is not, my suggestion is to get an external Firewire hard drive, and Prosoft Data Rescue and see if it is able to recover the information to it.
http://www.macsales.com/ sells equivalent Firewire hard drives for good prices, and http://www.prosofteng.com/ is where to get Data Rescue.
In addition, there may be suggestions people in the Boot Camp forum can offer:
    http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1165
My suggestion is to find a way to completely and safely remove Boot Camp and only use it on non-production machines.
I don't think your problem is an online networking issue, which I see you posted in that forum.

  • Rebooting problems with 3COM 905C-TX

    Hi there,
i am having a strange problem with my solaris/intel box after i
configured the 3com 905C-TX NIC card. I installed the patch for 905C
and i could finally see the device in the list at the time of booting.
then on, i added the I.P address to /etc/(hostname).elxl0 file, added
the host to /etc/inet/hosts, netmasks to /etc/inet/netmasks and ran
drvconfig, devlinks, touch /reconfigure and brought the machine up again.
Since then, the machine brings up the root logon screen and after i enter
the password, i don't see any taskbar at the bottom and i can't right-click
on the desktop..somehow, i could open the terminal and saw a core file
generated. i am postive this is something to do with the NIC because i tried undoing all the stuff with the files mentioned before and the system
was able to boot. Also, my /dev directory has elx, elxl and elxl0 files.I am wondering if anyone has encountered this problem
before..Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..can somebody tell me
the exact steps to configure/add the TCP/IP details to the network cards..
    thanks!!!

Yes, I can confirm the existance of this bug. I've not yet found
a solution for this problem. You probably have to get a different
    NIC.
Someone should file a bug report for this panic. Here's a copy of the

  • Are you coming out with a fix to the constant hang problem with version 6? I get a 20 second hang every 15 minutes.

Ever since version 6 was released I have been getting a very bad hang every 15 minutes or so regardless of what I am doing, so I cannot pinpoint the issue. I hope that your new update strategy doesn't create more issues like this that werent an issue with previous versions. I am a web designer and love how I have everything organized in Firefox, which I have favored for years but am getting frustrated and am starting to look at alternative browsers.

Firefox may be doing some maintenance to some files.<br />

  • BBM problem with 8530

Hi.  I have used BBM in the past with a couple of friends that also have the Blackberry Curve phones.  My husband just got a Storm and we are trying to set up BBM so that we can use it.  However, requests are listed as pending authorization, but no one seems to ever receive a notification on their phone that the other person is requesting them as a contact.  Any ideas?  Is this a problem across the different models?

Hi Oceanauto and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums!
To clarify, it appears that only messages between you and your Wife and Daughter, seem to be effected? Have them remove you from their BBM list completely then have them invite you to BBM.
Also, am I safe to assume you are all connected with the same wireless network provider?
    Thanks.

  • Lockup/reboot problem with N95 v20.0.015

    Hi
I installed v20.0.015 on a N95 and now the phone regularly locks up completely or restarts for no reason. It's made the phone pretty useless. Has anyone else had this problem?

I had the very same problem and I have fixed it!
The problem isn't the phone at all, but a corrupt download of the firmware! NSU will only download firmware if it hasn't already, which is why reflashing your phone doesn't solve the problem! So to fix the problem you have to delete the corrupt files and run NSU again!
Trouble is, the files are hidden away as system files so you have to unhide them first!
Here's how to do it all...
Click "Start", "My Computer", "Tools" then "Folder Options"
A Folder Options Window will open.
Click on the "View" Tab, Then under "Advanced settings"
Check the "Show hidden files and folders" radio and
uncheck "Hide protected operating system file (Recommended)" box.
A warning will appear when you uncheck it, don't worry, the files you will be deleting are not system files, but have been marked as such by NSU, so click on "Yes" and then "OK"
Now navigate to the following location on your Windows hard drive (Usually C: on most PCs)
    Documents and Settings
    All Users
    Application Data
    Nokia
    Nokia Service Layer
    A
    nsl_service_module_00001
    www.dsut.online.nokia.com.oti.caresuite
    Products
    rm-159
OR copy and paste the following without the quotes into the address bar and press enter!
    "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Nokia\Nokia Service Layer\A\nsl_service_module_00001\www.dsut.online.nokia.com.oti.caresuite\Products\rm-159"
Now select all the files shown and delete them!
That's that, now to re-hide the system files,
click "Tools" "Folder Options", Click on "View" tab.
Check the "Do not show hidden files and folders" radio and
check "Hide protected operating system file (Recommended)" box. Click OK!
Now run NSU just as you did before! New firmware will download!
I hope this solves your problem!Message Edited by pjaysnowden on 03-Dec-200712:46 AM

  • MOVED: 785GTM-E45 Problems with constant reboot and other stuff - My first ever build!

This topic has been moved to AMD64 ATI/SiS/VIA boards.
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=149942.0

Yes, 20 + 4 plug in connected as is the 4 pin CPU plug.  Sound issue is now resolved.  I deleted the sound drivers and windows reinstalled so that's fixed.
More on the reboot problem.  It really only seems to happen when the PC is sitting idle.  If suring the net or playing a game, it seems to work fine.  I was loading a program earlier today that kept failing because windows would reboot duing the install.  I finally opened up a web browser and left it on Pandora and the install went flawlessly...  I guess this PC does not like to be ignored...
Last night, I did not touch the PC and it would simply reboot about every 10-20 minutes and show a message that it recovered from a serious error.

  • Constant reboots on my iMac (early 2009) with Mountain Lion. Why?

I know there are a number of threads here speaking of similar problems, I've tried the steps mentioned there...to no avail.
I have an early 2009 iMac with a 24" display, 3.06 Ghz Core2 Duo. Memory has been upgraded to 8 GB.
The problem is: Since upgrading to Mountain Lion I get constant reboots, sometimes I can't even have the machine running for more than 30 minutes without it starting again. This is making it impossible for me to work. I've posted the last panic report at the end of this message. What I've noticed so far in all the panic messages is that the last loaded or unloaded extensions are always the same ones, no matter if my machine is restarting after 30 seconds or 4 hours. Could that be something helpful?

So it's ALWAYS either a file system extension or the USBCDC one. Always. Is that useless info or can I do some further testing in a specific direction here?
I've done the Apple Hardware Test in a loop for more than 8 hours without any problems, I've done a memtest in terminal without any problems. I've bootet in safe mode and still got a reboot. I've disconnected all external stuff (only using a Cintiq, a DAC with speakers and keyboard/mouse anyway)
Can anybody give me any more tips? Oh, and I've reinstalled Mountain Lion (clean install from recovery partition) a few times already. No change in behavior.

Update: It just happened again, this time while doing a backup with Time Machine. Could it be my Keyboard?
I'm not using a Bluetooth keyboard, but one with a USB connection. Sometimes I'm connecting my backup drive to it, but reboots also happen without anything connected to the keyboard.
This time there's even backtrace info:

I have a problem with Mail on my Macbook Pro. It is configurated with a gmail account, and now I can't access the mail. Is it possible to reboot the account or..? Please help:)

The question mark means the computer cannot find a bootable volumes so can;t do anything, That, combined with annoying sounds, strongly suggests a failed hard drive.
You can ask a "genius" at an Apple Rtail Store to test it but I'm pretty sure the drive is kaput. I'm hoping you had your data backed up.

  • MDT 2013 Windows 8.1 application install with reboot problem

    Hello!
I have a problem with an application install on Windows 8.1. I'm trying to install two applications and have activated "Reboot the computer after installting this application" for the first application. After rebooting the deployment window does
not show up agagin. BDD.log shows, that the deployment starts after the reboot but seems to hang, before the UI shows.
I tried to install this two applications under Windows 7, which works without any problems.
Here is the BDD.log for the failed deployment: http://pastebin.com/PbUH1LUq
Can anyone confirm this problem with MDT 2013 and Windows 8.1? Any ideas how to fix this?
Additional information: Further testing showed, that this problem just occurs, if the application install gets started separately after deploying the OS. If the applications are installed in one deployment together with the OS, everything works fine.

I did the same install on Windows 7, which worked without any problems. Here is the log file: http://pastebin.com/Qgn2PzyC
    To make it clear:
If I run a Lite Touch Install task sequence to install Windows 8.1 and install the two applications within this LTI, everything works fine. The computer reboots after installing the first application and the deployment goes on and finishes successfully after
    the reboot.
If I first install Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 via LTI and then (after LTI successfully finished) start a separate application install (using a custom task sequence with only one "Install Application" task in it), everything works fine with Windows
7 (installation continues and finishes after the reboot) but fails with Windows 8.1.
In Windows 8.1 the computer reboots after installing the first application, but after rebooting, the installation does not start again.
Keith, as you said, my environment is corrupted, I created an new fresh deployment share, just added the two test applications and the custom task sequence and tried again. Same result, Windows 7 works fine, Windows 8.1 fails by not starting the installation
    after the reboot.

  • I am still having problems with my music videos freezing (all purchased from iTunes) since the update.  Have restarted, rebooted etc. and it is worse than before.  Help!  Spent a lot of money on these and they won't play properly.

I am still having problems with my music videos freezing (all purchased on iTunes) since the update.  The first day of the update, no problems...played 6 hours of music videos and no freezing.  Today...every single video froze!!! So frustrating!  I rebooted, restarted, powered down and no help.   I would appreciate any suggestions.  Thanks.

I don't know how to do this without using a mouse point.
    This may help, http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000542.htm
As for question #2, you call tell how iTunes is sorting songs by the up or down arrow next to a header name.
Even the original order that the songs were entered or date added or last played can be sorted.
Much easier with a mouse or touch pad.

  • Problem with my Bluetooth resulting in auto rebooting.

I am having a problem with my bluetooth ever since I bought XPERIA mini st15i. The first time it occured, I took it to the customer care, they solved the problem. The problem did occur again after 2 weeks. So, I again took it to Service. They resolved it again. This problem has occured about 8 times. Ever since I tranfer some files through bluetooth from gallery or file explorer, the phone restatrs again and again. It shows the Xperia logo and then agin, it auto reboots until the battery dies off. I updated the phone yesterday and the problem is occuring today again. My warranty period is over,  so what can I do? In the warranty period, they changed my hardware but still the problem persists.
I think it's some kind of bluetooth bug. Can it be fixed?

download Sony Update Service and try this app http://www.sonymobile.com/ru/tools/update-service/ . Its helped me
