how do you make sure each file you are using use the same ruler measurements?
and how do you copy & paste, say an object in a layer, to another file and know it will be exactly the same?

By using the same File>Document Setup (and keeping the same preferences).

Just Ctrl/Cmd+C and Ctrl/Cmd+F (to place in the same position) or +V (to place at the centre of the view).

I have stacked bar chart with same time dim like year & month in the report. when I go to legand and set navigation it is working fine. But not with pie chart.
I am not not sure what is the problem. When I click on Pie chart it is not navigating to the target report. Can it be any other issues..???

New calculated member based on existing measure and a dimension value

I’m trying to create a new calculated member in my cube based on an existing measure and a dimension value.
I can do it easily in DSW but I want to do it as a Calculated Member in Calculations tab from my cube.
I have a dimension called Product in which one attribute is UOM (unit of measure) and a measure called Quantity. The relationship with the fact table is “Regular”.
For each product we have a unit of measure and an associated quantity measure:

          Km

Product 2
          Kg
         60
Product 3
          Kw
          25

The calculated member I want to create is “Kw” and has to contain the value from Quantity measure when Product.UOM is “kW” and should look like this:

So far I tried using the MDX with “IIF” or “Case” but with no results.

I never used yet the “Scope” statement and yet it’s an elegant solution.
I use it as in your example:

On this last one I’ve got the expected results with one exception: when I use UOM in the query all the other UOM values are listed each one of them

How to get the Multiplied value between measure and a dimension base on user selection using dynamically

Hi Experts,
We had developed a cube with the Measures and Dimensions.
I had a requirment as the measures should be muliplied by the currency value of different countries and get me the results.
For Example.
In SSRS report, the user will select "EUR" then the measures should multiply with the EUR based value for the particular month and get the result in the SSRS report. If the user select any other currency value, that should multiply with the measure
value and get the result in SSRS report.
How to do that in SSAS Cube.

How To Scale the Rulers and Object Dimensions

Hello. I've been using Corel Xara for a long time - like, since '98 - and recently started using Illustrator CS3.
In Xara, one can set the scale for rulers and objects. For example, I can set up the rulers for inches and then define a scale of, say, 1-in equals 300-ft. Once done, the ruler no longer displays inches; it displays the scale feet. And, when entering dimensions for objects or grid locations, I can use, for example, 650-ft and it will understand that I mean 2.1667-in.
Is there any way to do the same sort of thing in Illustrator? I saw how to change the rulers to inches, millimeters, points, etc., but I have been unable to find how to scale the ruler to X:Y.

Short answer: No.
Longer answer: To change the ruler measurments to a different predetermined system, simly control-click (Mac) or right-click (PC) on the rulers themselves. You can not set the application to auto-scale dimension like you describe. You can use math functions in dialog boxes though. So you could enter 600'*.125 for 600 ft times 1/8

I've been given at the last minute a project at school where I need to do some data acquisitions (tensions) with a DAQ NI USB-6218 and it has
been miserable ever since, I first tried the "easy" way with DAQ assistant to save a given number of samples per channel to a text file
in order to use it in matlab, well...it isn't working : every time in my text file I have a different number of samples, I used the "Write to spreadsheet" function within a while loop where I wired the path outputs to a shift register in order not to have it asking me the path all the time,
but I'm still not getting the X number of samples per channel as specified at the beginning.
So I've been using another method with the DAQmx where I get each individual waveform into a vector of samples, when I look for the size
of the vector it looks Ok, 100 in my case but the problems start when I try to have a text file where each column will represent a channel for
subsequent matlab treatment, what I'm doing doesn't seem to be working, it's really unbearable, please help me sort this mess out.
I'll add both VIs as attachment so it can help you help me, thank you.
Basically what I need is to acquire 15 tensions with a given number of samples per channel (the same for each channel) and then plot it in matlab.
Note the first VI has switches to "unblock" each channel but it doesn't seem to be working, please look at both VIs.
It's very urgent, I could fail my school year if I fail this project.

Hi Thank you very much for your help, in the meantime, I've changed the project to (see attachment), now
it is at least writing the waveforms to the txt file, but again there is an another problem, it seems to be ignoring the
number of samples I specified per channel, it seems to be writing into the txt file for as long as I keep the VI running.
What is missing ? Also I'd like to have a clock for my samples, that is when I plot in matlab I do not just plot random numbers, but the
physical analogical inputs as a function of time, that is for instance the first line corresponds to time 0, line 2 to time 0,001
ect...How could I do that ? For the meantime I got only 5 channels, when I know what my mistake is, I'll expand it to 15 channels.
Please help me.

Very Basic Question on Threads and Object Manipulation between classes

I have a feeling this is on the virge of being a stupid question but hey, its the right forum.
Lets assume I have a class that extends Jframe : Jframe1
In that frame there is only one Jlabel : Jlabel1
I want to create a thread that will affect Jlabel1
The thread will run an endless loop that will.. for example change the color of the label to a random color and then the thread will sleep for a given time. There is no use in this program. Its only meant to help me understand
I have looked up info and examples on threads. Unfortunately none were useful. Most examples try to illustrate the use of threads with the example of an applet digital clock. But it does not help with my problem, not to mention I dont want to delve into applets at this time.
I know I have to make a class that extends thread. Does it have to be an inner class?
How do I get to affect the frame's Jlabel1 from it? It says it doesn't know anything about it.

Encoder Position and Velocity Measurements and Force Measurements

Hi,
I am using a USB 6210 DAQ Card and an optical encoder and force transducer together in an MRI room to measure the power ouput of a patient pedalling on a recumbent ergometer. I would like to obtain synchronous measurements and output this to file. I have started working on the code for the encoder. I am struggling to get the frequency measurement and encoder position outputting fast enough. Any idea why this is? For the force measurements will this be with the same configuration just adding Vi's for analog input. Also I know using the write to measurement file vi is quite slow to write to a spreadsheet what is the more efficient method for doing this.

Hello Darren,
The fastest file to write to in LabVIEW is a binary file. The specific file type used by LabVIEW is the Technical Data Management (TDM) file. The TDMS file is a version of this file specifically designed for streaming applications. You can find several examples of writing to this file in the NI Example Finder (Click Help -> Find Examples). By using the search tab, you can use the keyword “TDMS” to search for all of the examples that use the TDMS file type. The example Cont Acq&Graph Voltage - Write Data to File (TDMS) can be found from the search tab, or by using the path Hardware Input and Output -> Analog Measurements -> Voltage. While the data acquisition part of this example pertains to analog input, the same file input structure can be used with your counter input tasks.
What do you mean that the encoder and frequency measurements are not fast enough? Each rising edge of the sample clock source will latch the current value of the measurement into the FIFO and transfer this value into the buffer. At this point, how quickly you can read the buffer will affect how quickly the user is updated with the newest measurement information. Since you have specified the number of samples to read in your buffered example, the read VI will wait until that many samples are available in the buffer before returning a measurement (this could slow down the update rate for the user). By specifying -1 as the number of samples to read, you will read all available samples in the buffer. If there are no samples available, nothing will be returned, but the VI will continue to execute. Hope this helps.

The file transfer will simply export the objects to a TPZ file, allowing you to import on the target system. This requires manual copying and paste of the object and have no further control.
CTS+ on the other side, allows the environment to maintain transport requests with control over objects audit. For example, an object must be created on DEV, then after being developed it must go to QA system and will only be sent to PROD when this object was approved by the respective team on QA. Communication between javascript and Objective-c in iOS.

We wanted to have a communication between javascript and objective c code. We have already tried the below approach.
To load fake URLs in JS and append a string which will be used as parameter to the Objective-C code and parse that URL in this delegate method:

But we wanted to access Objective class object in Javascript code so that we can call it's methods from javascript code using this object.Android supports this behaviour using addJavaScriptInterface method in webview. Is it possible to have the similar approach in IOS? If not what is the best approach possible to acheive this? If we could achieve similar behaviour then we don't need to change the Jacascript code and will be reused. Please suggest the best possible solution.

Similar problem just happened to me with the Creative Cloud Update 1.7.1.418—slightly different so I thought I'd share. I have multiple Adobe Creative Cloud programs installed on my computer, all working just fine. I updated the Cloud App to the latest version and then it shows me that I have only one program installed! All my previously installed programs (Photoshop and the like) still work but show as "install" instead of "Up to date". Initially I thought I'd have to re-install the Cloud app or recreate the OPM data base but then I noticed that some of the Cloud app preferences (Apps > Settings > App Language) were different to what I had set previously. I use English (International) language, the update had reverted the app back to English (North American). I flicked back to my previous language and bam, all my apps now show as being installed correctly.

How to remove file path location listings from photos and objects in Acrobat Pro 9.0 PDF?

After converting a windows-based Powerpoint 2007 presentation to an Acrobat Pro 9.0 PDF, the file path location of all photos and objects are shown in a dialogue box when the cursor is moved over the image as seen in this screenshot below. How can I stop this from happening and remove this feature on my pdf documents?

I saw that referenced on a forum, but it does not seem to address the issue I am having.
As per Adobe Acrobat X Standard * What’s new, the equivalent to the "Tools > Protection > Remove Hidden Information" utility found in Acrobat X Standard is the same as the "Document > Examine Document" feature in Acrobat Pro 9.0. Those tools seem to cover meta data, book marks, hidden text, and deleted or cropped content, but not the file path listings that appear on images and objects converted from Powerpoint presentations and other MS Office programs.
I have reviewed the settings used while creating a pdf, and have also tried the “Advanced > Preflight tool”, but could not find anything to apply to the issue at hand.
Thus, this issue has not been resolved, but seems like it should be an easy fix that anyone who publishes pdf documents would want to use to publish clean, professional documents without anyone seeing the file path location of every object and image shown in the document on their hard drive.

Multiple 'logical joins' between a fact table and one dimension table

It appears that one cannot create multiple ‘logical joins’ between a fact table and one dimension table in OBIEE using the Oracle BI Administration Tool. For example, considering a Business Model with a dimension table TIMES and a fact table FACT containing START_TIME and END_TIME, we would like to create separate logical joins from FACT to TIMES for the START_TIMEs and END_TIMEs? Obviously, the underlying foreign keys can be created, but as far as I can tell the Oracle BI Administration Tool doesn’t support this. The workaround would be to replicate the TIMES table, but that’s ugly.
I seek an alternative approach.

Try this. Create an two aliases for the TIMES dimension (Start & End) in the Physical Layer and then remove foreign key to the "Parent" Times dimension. Create the Foreign Key in the Physical Layer to the new aliases and then create the complex joins in the BMM Layer to the new aliases as well. This will allow you to present both dates within the same table in the Presentation Layer. Not the most elegant solution but it works.

Copy and paste styles between objects and entire slides

Hi,
In Keynote 5 I was able to copy and paste styles between objects and even between entire slides.
cmd+alt+c on one object (like a circle) and all its details like shadows, colors and animations could be transferred to another object.
One could even do it with entire slides and transfer one animation style to all the other slides.
THAT DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE.
Does anybody else miss these features?
Or is it just me?

object animations tools are:
copy animation:   Format > Copy Animation
paste animation   Format > Paste Animation
     there are no keyboard short commands for these.
There are no tools to copy or paste transitions between slides, you could duplicate the slide then add the content.
