Constantly being logged out
For 6 months now I have had trouble with verizon email. I open the email, might click to read one, then get logged out. Or I open emails, try to open sent email and get logged out. Or I've read 1 or 2 emails and then the next one I try to open, I get logged out. My most recent conversation with Verizon this week, it did not happen. The conversation with them before, it did happen. This last time the gal said it should be working fine now, because she told me to log in as verizon.net. Well I have to tell you this has NOT solved the problem. Why is this happening? Makes the entire email a waste of time!
chicmex,
I'm sorry you've had trouble being logged out of your email. For your security, when there is no activity for some time the system will time out. One way to work around this is to setup a 3rd party email client, like Outlook or Windows Mail. This way you can still use your Verizon mail and it won't time out on you. If you need help with this check out this site: http://www22.verizon.com/residentialhelp/fiosinternet. Sorry for the inconvenience.

How do I make sure I don't constantly get logged out of my google account in Safari?
I use Google Reader, Calendar/Tasks etc as a bookmarked site in Safari on my iPhone (4S). I constantly getted logged out everyday and have to keep logging back in, authenticating (2 step auth. setup) and it's extremely irritating and I often just not use my phone and wait until I get home.
Any ideas?
Your help would be greatly appreciated! The Google app does exactly the same thing for me. It does however keep me logged into the app, but as soon as I choose which Google service I wish to use (ie Reader, Tasks etc) then I have been logged out.
Also, I don't use any exchange features, it's just a personal phone with no special setups. -
Any way to stop being logged out of the forums every 10 minutes?
Since the recent alteration of the forum, I keep getting logged out. Is there any way to increase the time or keep me logged in at all?
ben...........
Not in Safari, The timeout length is ±30 minutes. I found that it is particularly annoying when composing a post, as it will not Post when logged out in the middle of composition.
I use Firefox and a FF add-on called "Reload Every" - applied to a tab or window, I set it to 'Custom' 20 minutes. You must apply it every time you start FF (from the 'context' menu (ctrl+click). Note that the Tab or window needs to remain open at all times (could hide it in the Dock) for it to work. I haven't been logged out since adding it to FF
The very good reason for the login timeout is that some people use their devices in very public places - school, work, coffee shop, etc. - and may walk away from it (particularly a desktop) for a period Because AppleID is used in the iStore(s), being logged in may become a security risk,
NOTE: There is also a time limit to be able to Edit your post. That seems to be ±15 minutes

Issues with Agents being logged out.
All the agents on aperticular PIM were logged out and could logback in after approx 7 minutes.Wheni check teh CTIOS logs now its full of the below error message
12.333 ClientMgr[1]::DistributeEvent(eOnNewSkillGroupStatisticsEvent), FAILED to find
Client[0006].
Can you please let me know if this is service affecting or its something critical ?-We are seeing issues with agents trying to log in and getting timeout errors, taking 3-5 times to actually login/JTAPI errors. Supervisor application is having the same issues. We have full IP Visibility from all subnets. The CUCM/CCX servers were put in last August, and we had zero issue up until the past few weeks. Ive validated the agent settings, JTAPI users etc and Ive rebooted the UCCX server as well

Log out function in Oracle 11i
We are using Oracle 11i and are being logged out of the system within 15 minutes of non-use.
Can the log out feature be set for individual security levels/groups?
Can the log out time limit be set individually?
I am quite new to the Oracle family and hope to become a long time user. This is totally the wrong forum for this kind of question, but I'm fairly certain the timeout can be changed via a profile option. You have to sign on as SYSADMIN (or someone with sysadmin responsibility) to change it. I'm not sure if it can be set at different levels though.
There is an Oracle Apps forum around here somewhere. -
Safari update 5.1.4 does not solve logging out of Facebook
After installing the new update for Safari (5.1.4), I am still being logged out of Facebook whenever I close my Mac.
What is a reason for this? How can it be solved?
I also have FileVault 2 enabled...Hi ...
Right or control click the Safari app in your Applications folder then click Get Info.
In the Get Info panel you'll see: Open in 32-bit mode
If that box is selected, deselect it.
Quit then relaunch Safari for changes to take effect.
Turning off the Lion "resume" feature may help also.
Open System Preferences > General
Deselect: Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps
Restart your Mac.

Any recent change? Logged out many times a day
Starting today at some indeterminate time, I have been logged out of the forums in less that one hour periods. Firefox/Mac, Safari/Vista, Explorer/Vista.

Well, if I am not the only case, mayge it is no longer considered a low priority one:
http://forums.adobe.com/message/2440544#2440544
Why would people being logged out have any bearing on the priority I
give to you being logged into another account after 24 hours?
The priority I give to issues is pretty much linearly related to the
estimated return on investment.
The return I am looking for is when I learn something or when I get
something. I estimate that neither will be the case, so the only return
is that somebody else gets something (with a high probability that I
will be able to identify the issue, but a low probability I will be able
to fix it). Whether that somebody is you or 3 three people does not
significantly affect what the return to me is.
On the investment side it is just too much work. For pretty much all
your issues you post huge numbers of messages that each contain a tiny
bit of information (if any). You are leaving it up to the reader to go
wade through all those messages and extract the useful bits out of them.
I do that for paying customers, not on a forum.
If you want me to look into it you are going to have to rebalance that
equation for me. Provide a nice table or something with the columns
date, time, RMID, JSESSIONID, AUID and observation. Some dozen data
points (especially from events such as 'first authenticated request',
'last request before logout' etc.) from one browser should provide a
good starting point for an analysis.
That is what would get me interested. I do not know what would get Adobe
or Jive interested. -
Lately I have experienced being logged out at random intervals on my laptop. That is, after some time (of activity or inactivity) I get logged out and Slim is executed. This is the normal behaviour when killing X manually with ctrl-alt-backspace, so I believe that this is a result of X crashing. I don't know where to start troubleshooting, so I will provide the most relevant info.
I'm running xmonad + xmobar, slim as display manager on 3.0-ARCH kernel. I'm using the intel-dri driver.

Hi everyone, I'm new to mac and of course this forum.
After reading apple's tips for protecting your account, their first suggestion is:
"Always sign out after you have finished purchasing from any Apple website or service."
Well where do you log out? I've been searching everytime I log into my account and can't find it anywhere. I just end up closing the webpage to exit. When I asked that question to customer service after purchasing three mac products they didn't seem to have an answer. The logout is in plan site for this forum, why not the same for their website?
thanks for any help,
ome

Retina MacBook Pro - Logging Out
My Retina MacBook Pro is automatically logging me out while I am in the middle of using it!
For the past 4 days, I'll just be sitting here at my desk, browsing the web, or working on an e-mail, and the next thing I know, I am being logged out and presented with my standard login screen.
I've seen 1 or 2 reports of this, and am wondering if a replacement is in order. ?
Specs and Details
Retina MacBook Pro - 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7 (been using it for 2 weeks)
RAM Upgraded to 16GB
256GB Hard Drive
Connected to a brand new Apple Thunderbolt Display.
OS X Lion 10.7.4 with ALL updates installed.Hi, I experienced exactly the same when first using the new rMBP
It seems that there is an issue with Lion that causing intermittent problems when switching between integrated and discreet graphic cards.
You have 2 options:
1. Upgrade to Mountain Lion - the problem is gone in ML thats for sure (and of course its designed for this beautiful new machine)
2. If you still want to wait for a while, download gfxCardStatus and you decide whether to switch or stay just on discrete or integrated...this app works just fine too
I was using option 2 to manage the issue, before upgrading....either solution worked for me.
Good luck -
User gets logged out by itself
If I leave my computer on for a while it logs my user out, or tries to.
Often I come back and several apps have been quit out of and there is a message telling me that one of my apps stopped my user from being logged out.
Other times it is logged out and I have to log back in and start from scratch.
Seems similar to https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4135972?start=0&tstart=0 but I am not running multiple graphics cards and as long as I am working on the computer it has never happend. It only happens if I leave it running for a while not uning it.Thanks,
I found "Log out after [60] minutes of incativity: checked under System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Advanced. I don't remember checking that but I assume that will fix my problem. -
Logged out several times an hour
Is it just me?
I am being logged out several times an hour and needing multiple attempts to log back in.
Is there some maintenance going on?
Should I give up until tomorrow?John,
Was happening to me, with greater and greater regularity. It got so bad that I would log-in, just to get a reply screen, and then have to log-in to post it, and maybe 2-3 times.
Finally, it spiraled to the point that every forum would throw me to the main forum page, and clicking on anything there would bring up Server Not Found.
The speed also ground to a halt.
About 1:00 PM (PDT/AZT), things got back to normal.
Sun spots?

Any solution in sight for the constant automatic log-outs?
Just wondering if there's any chance of solving the problem of being logged out dozens of times per day?
I know the Jive software is the absolute pits, but even the elephantine Adobe bureaucracy managed to solve this constant log-out problem on their forums, which are also underpowered by Jive.
In any event, at least I'll have this post to find this board again.MGW wrote:
The Community Hosts have fixed the problem, you should be able to stay logged in as long as the browser you use stays open, once you close it, you will be logged out.
That's not the case here. I've been logged out three times this afternoon already, without my having closed Firefox 3.6.19 under Tiger 10.4.11. I'm within roughly 100 miles of Apple Headquarters in Cupertino.
Please don't interpret this as a complaint against Apple or the forums. I'm familiar with the miserable performance of Jive software.
CORRECTED: Firefox 3.6.19
