Constantly encounter 'unable to connect to server' message

Constantly get windows saying I'm unable to connect to server - dozens of times per day. Usually have to start all over again and eventually get through - then often lose connection again. Very frustrating! What's going on? Thank you!

Hi here4myking,
I understand that you're having problems with your printer connecting to web services.  I would try the steps below.
1. Obtain your printer's IP address
a. This can be done by pressing the wireless icon on printer.
2. Enter the printer's IP address in a browser.
3. Select the network tab at the top of the page.
4. On the left select networking.
5. Select Network Address (IP)
6. Select Manual DNS Server
a. Manual Preferred DNS should read 8.8.8.8
b. Alternate DNS Server should read. 8.8.4.4
7. Select apply you might get a warning just select okay
Let me know how it goes.

  • Unable to connect to server message

Every time I turn on my Iphone, I get the message that Icloud has new terms to view.  I click on the link and get the error message Unable to connect to server????

We have a catch 22, because I cannot get into Icloud (settings) until I view the agree to the new terms.  However, I cannot review the new terms because I cannot connect to server.  So, I cannot delete the account and still have the message every time I turn the phone on.

  • "Unable to connect to server" message/settings/icloud

Hi..I just upgraded to IOS7.04 on my ipad and chose to set up iCloud account later.  Now when I go into settings/iCloud I can't get past T&C's...I get the error message shown.  Not sure what to do?  Thanks in advance.

  • Unable to connect to server on ipad mini to edit account info

When I try to view terms and conditions to edit account info on ipad mini, the message unable to connect to server message pops up.  I am able to access internet however.

Some folks have discovered that changing their DNS service fixes FaceTime connection issues. The ideal way is to configure your modem/router with DNS service, but often settings in Settings/Wi-Fi on your iPad will override the router settings.
    Try either of these;
    OpenDNS
    208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220
    Google Public DNS
    8.8.8.8. 8.8.4.4

  • SOS - i-cloud. Unable to connect to server

I recently updated my i-phone (5s) to the newest version. When it rebooted it asked for me to agree to new terms and conditions before I can use i-cloud but I keep getting a "unable to connect to server" message. I tried the few fixes posted here (from last year), such as downloading 'find my friends' and 'find my phone' app—but no luck. I even went into the Apple Store. They told me to backup to my computer at home and then try resetting all setting and the network settings. Then to restore the phone. Well, that ended up to be a complete waste, I still get the "unable" message. And, as an added bonus, now the phone won't let me restore because it wants me to turn off "find my phone" in i-cloud (which, of course, I can't get to!) I went back to Apple again, but I can't get an appointment at the Genius Bar until Wed afternoon. In the meantime, my phone keeps flashing that stupid message over and over again and I'm barely able to use the phone.

If you have a friend or neighbor with wifi, you might ask if you can connect through their network and try to sign in.

In the icloud settings, I am told I need to accept the terms and conditions to use icloud. However, when I click on "Terms and conditions", I get a message "unable to connect to server". This has been happening for a week now since I upgraded to iOS 7.06. There is no problem with my wifi or cellular connectivity, all other applications work perfectly. P.S.I have never used icloud before, but wish to do so now. How do I overcome this problem?

Have you turned the iPad off then back on? That often helps with problems.

    Hi,
    yes when i go to
start -> run -> drivers -> etc -> hosts file and i add the command that you suggested to me.
Here is the log file content :
    Fri Mar 21 10:55:17 2008 INIT LOGFILE
    Fri Mar 21 10:55:17 2008 READ ROUTTAB ./saprouttab o.k.
    Edit :
when i run only those command from the saprouttab fil:
    P * sapserv2 sapdp99
    P sapserv2 <solution manager IP adress>
and after running the SAProuter, it seems to recognize sapserv2 but still have the problem with sapdp99.
Do i have to add sapdp99 with its 3299 port number in the hosts file?

  • Error message "unable to connect with server. Check wifi connection"

I started having the error message "unable to connect with server. Check wifi connection" when I attempt to use search function within a certain apps and when I try to download certain magazine (eg. National geographic).  I didn't have this problem with I first started using iPad, and no problems with connectivity when using other apps.  Can anyone help?

You may not really be connected to your WiFi network.
Your router may not have given your iPad a valid IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the ">" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPad (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc.

  • Getting error message 'unable to connect to server' when trying to access iCloud

Trying to access my iCloud account but keep getting error message 'unable to connect to server'. Need help please.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Try the following.
Go to Settings > iCloud > Delete Account (This removes your data from your device, but not from your account, it will be added back later).
    Restart the device.
Sign in again (Settings > iCloud, don't use the 'Create New Apple ID' button).

  • Apple TV repeatedly giving message, "Unable to connect to server, please try again."

I'm having a horrible time with the Apple TV I purchased 3 days ago.  I'm using it wirelessly, the signal is strong, I've already power cycled the modem and router, but it continues to give the message, "Apple TV unable to connect to server..."  It works intermittently.  All the other devices in my home are working properly, so I know it's not the internet itself.  The ONLY thing that works is restarting the device, but even that only works briefly and before long the connection fails.  Does anyone have a genuine solution other than having me restart the device?

I ended up getting a new VMS box as the rep thought that the HDD was going.  I am still having latency issues with the remotes and the TV displays.  Also there still are times when the signal freezes for a second along with the sound but resumes.  The Techs have replaced my splitter and these problems continue.
