Constantly getting invalid url.

I have checked my keychain, date/time, reset my preferences, cleared my cashed, turned off and on...nope.  Nothing works.  Can anyone tell me what has happened.  It is even starting to pop upon my iPhone 5.

No plugins that I am aware of.  I have looked on the internet with for other people with this problem and found literally thousands.

here is another...
I could litereally be chatting in facebook and then I start getting "could not verify the identity" and I can cancel, but then the site will gradually start to fail.  Then, I can't access CNN, or Hotmail or Google.  So, I reset the preferences, empty the cashe, check the keychain, shut it down and restart...and then it sort of works again for a little while, like right now.  It is working fine.
This has been going on for about 4 months.  It didn't happen in my old Mac.

When I use the title bar, or the home page to search using google, i get "invalid url". If I manually type in www.yahoo.com, or any other site, everything works fine. Usually if I restart the computer, everything is normal again. This does no happen all the time, but once it starts, it wont go away. I even restarted in safe mode and then disabled all add ons and still nothing.

  • Why do I get INVALID URL when I try to use links thru facebook?

I use a laptop, running Windows7, with Mozilla and Safari as my main browsers. I've noticed that 75% of the time,(when I'm on Firefox) and I am on Facebook, when I try to play my games I get INVALID URL. If it happens on Mozilla it also happens on Safari (I've checked). Nothing I do works. I've tried every suggested *fix*, and nothing helps. It only affects FB and the links thru FB. I can go to any other website, just not fb nor any of the links to my games. All plugins are up to date except Silverlight plugin because I don't know what it is, nor how it got on my laptop. Haven't deleted it because I don't know what it is and what it's for.

  • Getting Invalid URL error

Hi all I am a new developer trying to make the Phone app work. when I try to run the app I get the invalid URL error. I am putting my domain name between the quoetes. Please help
// please insert your web service URL here for exchanging peer ID
    private const   WebServiceUrl:String =""

you must install a peer id registration/lookup service compatible with VideoPhoneLabs' queries onto your web server.  a sample service is the "reg.cgi" python script included with VideoPhoneLabs. you must create the database it'll use according to the schema in the script comment and place the database (and the script) in your filesystem with appropriate permissions for your OS and web server. then you give the URL to that web service as the WebServiceUrl constant.

  • Still getting Invalid URL on Washington Post sites

Clicking any link to a Washington Post headline returns an Invalid URL error. This has been going on for several weeks, before which everything worked with no problem.
One other post (not from me) about this problem produced a reply, but the instructions given do not work.
I'm on a Toshiba Satellite laptop, Windows 7, FF 3.6.15.

The problem is with the extension "HTTPS Everywhere." I found the solution on another site as follows:
Rather than disable HTTPS Everywhere, you can simply disable the
washingtonpost.com rule. Go to Tools -> Add-Ons, and then click
Preferences for the HTTPS-Everywhere add-on. Then un-check the
    WashingtonPost box.
The solution worked like a charm.
