Constructor not working

The below given constructor does not work when I call it from another class. Actually, the control reaches inside the constructor. But the required functions inside that constructor does not work.
public class CreateWindow {
     public CreateWindow(){
}But it works perfectly with public static void main and running it individually as a class without any constructors.
What can be the reason?

    SpryMenuBar.js
    This file handles the JavaScript for Spry Menu Bar.  You should have no need
    to edit this file.  Some highlights of the MenuBar object is that timers are
    used to keep submenus from showing up until the user has hovered over the parent
    menu item for some time, as well as a timer for when they leave a submenu to keep
    showing that submenu until the timer fires.

  • Delete functionality is not working

    Hi
    I have two EOs on two base tables  PO_REQUISITIONS_INTERFACE_ALL  and PO_INTERFACE_ERRORS and i have one VO having both EOs attached and have the sql query in the VO as below. I attached this VO in the AM. I have a page having regions style as 'query' and construction mode as 'autoCustomizationCriteria' and in that page i have two regions one is search region and another is results region. In the results region i have a button called 'Delete' and my functionality is when ever i click on Delete i am expecting the records should be deleted in both tables. But when i click on delete record is getting deleted only from PO_INTERFACE_ERRORS table not from PO_REQUISITION_INTERFACE_ALL table. Please let me know what needs to be done to fix this issue. I am also placing the CO and AM code below

    Thanks..I changed and unchecked the 'Reference Flag' for Interface Lines VO while adding EOs in VO and it worked as it is deleting the record in Interface Lines Table also. But here i am getting one more issue on specific scenario.
    My design of this development is as follow...
    1. Search Page in which users give some search criteria and results will be displayed in the results region on the same page. For each results record I have two buttons like 'Update' and 'Delete' so that users can delete the record or can update the record. For update i created a one more page where users can able to edit and save the data.
    Suppose I have one record in interface lines table and two records in error tables.When users given the search criteria and hit enter they found two records for same interface line. It means i have two records in error table and one record in interface table and both tables have same transaction id. So here user first try to update one record and it is working. After update he try to delete a record then I am getting below error. Please note that I am not getting this error when if i directly delete the record with out doing any update before delete.
    Unable to perform transaction on the record.
    Cause: The record contains stale data. The record has been modified by another user.
    Action: Cancel the transaction and re-query the record to get the new data.

  • Word Puzzle still not working

    I have written the code to take a text file (from a command line argument) holding the information for the word find grid and also the file holding the words to be found in the grid. The whole find the two files and drop them into memory works all peachy keen but the rest of the program doesn't work for some oddball reason that I can't figure out (and the TAs are useless as usual). I dropped in print statements all over the world to see why it's not working but all I can see is that I hit the method SolvePuzzle and don't actually get any further than the print statement.
    Just so you know, all of the methods in the program do work as I wrote them for another version of the same puzzle...it was just that I had to change the program to run with command line arguments instead of asking the user to input the file names. Please, can someone take a look at this monstrous mess and tell me how on earth I get the stupid thing to output correctly?

    Your problem is the duplicate declarations of rows/columns
    class fields
    private int rows, columns;
    and in loadPuzzle()
    int columns = oneLine.length( );//remove int
    int rows = puzzleLines.size( );//ditto
    the 'int' makes rows/columns local to loadPuzzle(), leaving the class fields rows/colums = 0
    the for loops of solvePuzzle() are not executed because rows = 0
    also, in loadPuzzle() you seem to have an extra readLine() at the top. This could be by design, but you will lose the first line
    // get the row and columns
    oneLine = wsFile.readLine();//<--------------
    List puzzleLines = new ArrayList( );

  • Spry Menu not working correctly

    Hopefully this is the right part of the forum to post this question, if not, I apologize.
    I have created a site in dreamweaver and am using a single Spry Menu Bar. I have read tons of forum postings about Drop down menus not working in IE, however, mine don't work in any browser or in the Live View either. I have a feeling it has something to do with either the div containing the menu bar or the sizing, but I can't tell.  Please help.

    You do not have a constructor for the menu bar as in
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var MenuBar1 = new Spry.Widget.MenuBar("MenuBar1", {imgDown:"SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarDownHover.gif", imgRight:"SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarRightHover.gif"});

    There are too many mistakes in the JS outside of the Spry Menu Bar. Have a look at the following which includes all errors, not just the JS

    This message may appear in several cases:
    You tried to include the "<" character in your page: you should escape it as "&lt;"
    You used an unescaped ampersand "&": this may be valid in some contexts, but it is recommended to use "&amp;", which is always safe.
    Another possibility is that you forgot to close quotes in a previous tag.

    An entity reference was found in the document, but there is no reference by that name defined. Often this is caused by misspelling the reference name, unencoded ampersands, or by leaving off the trailing semicolon (;). The most common cause of this error is unencoded ampersands in URLs as described by the WDG in "Ampersands in URLs".
    Entity references start with an ampersand (&) and end with a semicolon (;). If you want to use a literal ampersand in your document you must encode it as "&amp;" (even inside URLs!). Be careful to end entity references with a semicolon or your entity reference may get interpreted in connection with the following text. Also keep in mind that named entity references are case-sensitive; &Aelig; and &aelig; are different characters.
    If this error appears in some markup generated by PHP's session handling code, this article has explanations and solutions to your problem.
    Note that in most documents, errors related to entity references will trigger up to 5 separate messages from the Validator. Usually these will all disappear when the original problem is fixed.

    incorrect use of the "Strict" document type with a document that uses frames (e.g. you must use the "Frameset" document type to get the "<frameset>" element),
    by using vendor proprietary extensions such as "<spacer>" or "<marquee>" (this is usually fixed by using CSS to achieve the desired effect instead).
    by using upper-case tags in XHTML (in XHTML attributes and elements must be all lower-case).

  • # key not working in linux

    Hi
    I have been using jbuilder5 in windows and have created an application. It works fine in windows but when i move to linux(SuSe v7.3) the # key does not work. Even in jbuilder the # key does not work.
    It is not the keyboard settings as in other non java applications the # key works. I am using the jdk 1.3 and I am using swing to get the text.
    Has anyone heard of this problem and do you know how to overcome this.
    Thanks

    there used to be a bug in JTable - some characters did not work, the most popular being the lower capital "q"; "#" is also part of the game.
    check out the following bug in the bug parade which also contains a workaround. I am not sure if it applies to the java version you are using, but you can give it a try.

    You need to add the constructor for the second TabbedPanels as follows

  • New FocusTraversalPolicy Mechanism Does Not Work Well With OO Designs

    I would like to complain about the new focus traversal mechanism not working well with object-oriented GUI designs.
    Specifically, we have many reusable panel classes that can be swapped in and out of reusable dialog classes. On some of these panels, the default focus traversal is not what is desirable, perhaps because one component on the right side of the window is just slightly higher than a component on the left side, maybe due to the component on the right having a label on top, and so the default focus goes to the component on the right instead of the left. So we have a need to be able to explicitly define the order of components in some panels.
    If I try to define a focus traversal policy in the panel's constructor, a NullPointerException is thrown because the panel's focus cycle root is null (the panel has not been added to any dialog or frame yet).
    If I try to associate a focus traversal policy at the dialog level, it would have to explicitly reference its child panels' inner components, which would break the encapsulation of the panels. It would also make it hard to have generic dialog classes into which various reusable panel objects can be swapped.
    Someone suggested making each panel a focus cycle root. This makes it hard to "break out" of one panel to move on to the next panel in the dialog. Special keys would have to be assigned to try to cycle out, and these keys would have to be different than the normal traversal keys, making them inconsistent and nonintuitive to the user. Also, the focus policy would have to know if the dialog had more than one panel, what order the panels were in to know whether to cycle to the next panel or not, etc. This is a mess.
    Does anyone have any idea how to get around these problems? I have tried using a global focus policy with a global hash map of prev/next component key-value pairs, but we are still running into trouble with some deeply nested tabbed dialogs. It's just not possible to always have the focus cycle root in existence at the point where you want to explicitly define traversal between two components, or when you are trying to establish the default component for a panel in a tabbed pane.
    Has anyone else run into similar issues?
    Robbie Gilbert
    [email protected]

    I agree completely. One of the popular consultants on this forum stated that the new focus mechanism was more versatile and only a little more complex. I would say it's more than a little complex given the trouble average programmers are having understanding how it works...at least at first...and after understanding it realizing that they are going to have type their fingers off to update their code. Oh, and the dread of maintaining this awful mess.
    I'm currently having the same problem as you Robbie. Some of my reusable panels need special tab ordering...that's not usually a problem, in most programming environments, till now. Now I have to go around the world and back just to get my stupid cursor to be in the right place when I hit the tab key??!!! and special key mappings just to get out of a focus cycle...lame.
    And how is an IDE graphical designer going to work with this? It's not, that's how...ok maybe if some kind person or company creates a custom focus traversal policy editor of some kind, I don't know.
    Good grief Sun! We need something to help us meet our deadlines, not solutions that force us to spend 80% of our time customizing every stinking bit of UI functionality we need!!!
    JTables are even worse. I've mastered most of the garbage that is JTable after many months of pain and I don't know how I'm going to help my peers understand them in any short amount of time. Most of them were Oracle Forms programmers, not that that is any great solution either. But they will likely have problems.
    In conclusion, I wish I had chosen another UI technology for our new product client, and may yet.

  • Java Mapping (Not Working)

    Hi....
    I have done java mapping using file to file scenario....
    I have created two data types, two message types, two message interfaces... in imported archives i have imported
    dom4j-1.6.1.zip and itext.jar files..
    i have written my java code like this:
    package com.xmltopdf;
    import java.io.FileInputStream;
    import java.io.FileOutputStream;
    import com.lowagie.text.xml.XmlToPdf;
    public class MyXmlToPdf {
    public MyXmlToPdf(String inputFile, String outputFile){
    try {
    XmlToPdf xtp = new XmlToPdf();
    System.out.println("Ravi");
    xtp.parse(new FileInputStream(inputFile), new FileOutputStream(outputFile));
    }catch(Exception e ) {
    System.out.println(e);
    in message mapping i have invoked "MyXmlToPdf(String,String) constructor like this:
    MyXmlToPdf xmt= MyXmlTOPdf("C:
    source
    filetofile.xml","C:
    source
    file.pdf");
    return "";
    and i have configured my communication channel, reciever determination, sender aggrement, reciver aggrement, and interface determination.....
    so please tell me whether my code is correct or not... if its correct why i am not getting the pdf file.. if its not correct please tell me whats wrong in my code...
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi ,
    select XMLTOOLKIT option in Operation mapping and execute it.
    I am not sure we can call java program in XSLT Program,but alternative is copy the code and use it in XSLT mapping it self,that means your XSLT program will become with JAVA extensions.
    then in Operation mapping level select SAPXMLTOOL kit option and execute it. i hope it will work. if it is not working then you have deploy some JAXP files on server,because the way execution of XSLT Mpaping program got changed,like when eve you executing XSLT with extnasions( if you are not using XMLTOOL kit option) then you have to use latest version of JAXP.JDK files.

    - (id)initWithDelegate:(id)delegate;
    @property (nonatomic, retain) id _delegate;
    @property (nonatomic, retain) NSURLConnection *connection;
    @end
    Connection.m
    /* CONSTRUCTOR METHODS */
    - (id)initWithDelegate:(id)delegate
    self = [super init];
    if (self)
    _delegate = delegate;
    return self;
    but: if I am trying to use it (from a child class)
    @interface LoginConnection : Connection
    it compiles without warnings, but it does not work;
    loginConnection = [[LoginConnection alloc] initWithDelegate:self];
    error:
    * -[LoginConnection initWithDelegate:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x5807ab0
    2010-03-27 13:43:39.030 Airwriting[17308:207] * Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '* -[LoginConnection initWithDelegate:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x5807ab0'
    so.. the compiler cant find the method..?

    Hi Alex -
    I added your Connection and LoginConnection classes to a test bed, pasting your code directly from the forum into the project files wherever applicable. I then created an instance of LoginConnection as follows:
    - (void)applicationDidFinishLaunching:(UIApplication *)application {
    // inheritance test for SommerAlex
    LoginConnection *loginConnection = [[LoginConnection alloc] initWithDelegate:self];
    NSLog(@"%s: loginConnection=%@ loginConnection._delegate=%@",
    _func_, loginConnection, loginConnection._delegate);
    [loginConnection release];
    // [Session started at 2010-03-27 16:24:14 -0700.]
    // 2010-03-27 16:24:17.066 Nav4[33562:20b] -[Nav4AppDelegate applicationDidFinishLaunching:]:
    // loginConnection=<LoginConnection: 0x3d1c8b0>
    // loginConnection._delegate=<Nav4AppDelegate: 0x3d1d5a0>
    So it appears the behavior you're observing isn't the fault of the code you posted. If that code was pasted directly from your source files, we can probably rule out typos. Have you tried Build->Clean? Otherwise, I would focus on any related code that wasn't posted, or wasn't pasted into the forum directly from the project. Also make sure you're looking at the same files which are actually included in the project. If you have two versions of the same file in your project folder (e.g. one set of class files in the project root, and another like-named set in Classes), it might be easiest to hose all of them.
    Btw, this has nothing to do with your primary problem, but it might be good to take a close look at the _delegate property declaration in your Connection class. It's unusual for a delegate property to want the retain attribute, especially if the object which creates the Connection is going to be the delegate. For example, if the Connection object is only released in dealloc, that method might never run. So after analyzing your requirements, consider changing that property attribute to assign.
