  • Location Services allows App Developers to upload data

    http://www.cultofmac.com/149356/ios-loophole-allows-developers-to-secretly-uploa d-all-of-your-photos-to-their-servers/
    I use a photo security software Picture Safe. It requires me to turn on Location Services to operate the software as it claims to be part of their security ID process.
    Having read this web link above, I am getting suspicious that this developer is using this iOS loophole to upload my private photos without my knowledge.
    Can apple improve its locations services software to better protect my privacy and prevent unauthorized upload of my photos?

    I'm sure they can.  By the way, there are similar flaws in Android, Symbian and BlackBerry.
    Stop trying to spread FUD.

  • Posting Consulting Services

    Hi there,
    I had the following question from a US A1Channel Partner yesterday:
    Is it possible to post the services of their consultants up on the Career Center or is it purely for job seekers and employers looking for talent?
    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hi Martin,
    Right now the career center does not allow partners to make their consultants available for hire, unless the consultants post their resumes to be potentially recruited by other employers. However, the functionality of a contractor market place is on our road map and something we are planning to offer as part of the career center in the future.  Best,
    Claudine

    Hello,
    you can check it at GlassFish Admin console (usually running on port 4848).
    You need to log on to Admin console with the (default) or changed password (depends if you changed it during installation).
    There you could see your web service deployed (usually in the "folder" Web services).
    If you can see it you should see also wsdl - for your web service.

  • Delivery Document for Services

    Hello Experts,
    I have a scenario which I am looking for an SAP solution. My client provides consultancy services and bills customers for it. At the beginning of the contract, customer gives a letter of intent (LOI) which authorised commencement of work. After work is completed, the customers signs a job completion form/service entry sheet, which is the basis on which the client can invoice the customer for the hours/days spent. Thinking along OTC, it looks to me that the  LOI could represent a sales order, but I am looking for a document to represent the job completion form/service entry sheet. Can we have a delivery document for services? Is there any other document that can perform the same function as delivery in this scenario? I think there has to be another document after the sales order that will represent the actual hours/days spent on the job which the invoice can reference in billing the client.
    Thanks for your prompt help.
    Luqman

    Its part of Customer Service. And widely know as After Market.
    Is very much integrated with SD as well as PS.
    DP90 csan be used by PS & SD both.
    Whereas, if your refer DP90, its purely based on Sales Document.
    Refer following SAP Help link for reference/understanding:

  • No more than one service items on PR

    Hello,
    I'm sending Purchase requisitions to an external system thru an interface.  This system doesn't support multiple items per line items (i.e., 2 services lines in the same PR line item).
    So I need to restrict the service line items to contain only one service line.  I tried to implement exit EXIT_SAPLMLSP_031 from enhancement SRVESLL to call an error message when the document has more than one service item, but it results on system locking the line until error message is cleared, but it can be cleared with the screen locked on the second item.
    Is there another way to approach this issue? may be an exit on document check that contains the tables for the service items?
    Thanks in advance,
    Nelson.

    Hello Prabu,
    Thanks for your reply.
    What I actually need is to have various items, per document, but only 1 service item per line item.
    i.e.
    PR 1000000001
    Item 1 - Consulting support
                Service item 1 - MM Consulting
    Item 2 - Consulting support
                Service item 1 - ABAP Consulting
    instead of:
    PR 1000000001
    Item 1 - Consulting support
                Service item 1 - MM Consulting
                Service item 2 - ABAP Consulting
    Any ideas to achieve this?
    Regards,
    Nelson.

  • Scheduling Agreement for Services

    Dear All,
    We have to enter into long term Service Agreement with Certain Service Providers (Software Developers, Service for Garden Maint. etc) whose service we procure and pay on a periodic basis.
    Since a Service PO won't do here (As agrt has to be a long term and Validity shld be maintainable at (Multiple)Line Item Levels), so I am looking for a SA.
    If I select Item Categ as 'T' (Text), then It is not taking Tgt qty and Net Price.
    Thus I want a SA for serv. with Multiple Line Items, Indiv Validity Periods, Indiv prices and Qtys, Texts.
    Plz contribute even if U have a slight Idea of this. Also the process of Service Procurement (Service entry sheets etc)and Payt.
    Thanks
    Sudhanshu

    Hi Sudhanshu,
    you need to use Item category "D" for this in SA.
    Also you can use the contract with release orders to handle this scenario.
    And contract  / release order seems more pratical for service procurement than SA.
    Hope it helps.

  • Web Services and Parameters - Problem

    I have 2 web services I set up. One takes no parameters and
    works fine. The
    other takes arguments and it tells me the method cannot be
    found. What am I
    missing? What is the magic bullet to invoke a web service
    that takes
    arguments and have it work? I have all the web service's
    arguments set to
    'required="yes"' and I set up another 'no argument function'
    in the
    SearchProperty.cfc to make sure it also works and it did
    fine, so I know the
    web service exists and is accessible.
    I tried both createObject in my contoller and cfinvoke. Both
    work fine for
    the web service that takes no arguments and neither work for
    the one that
    does.
    Here is my controller blocks (please excuse the Model-Glue)
    This works fine
    <!---Get All Cities For Search Engine--->
    <cffunction name="getCities" access="public"
    returntype="void"
    output="false" hint="I displays all the cities for the front
    page">
    <cfargument name="event" type="ModelGlue.Core.Event"
    required="yes">
    <cfset Cities = createObject("webservice",
    http://74.86.90.210/realitorToolBox/model/webservices/CityGateway.cfc?wsdl")/>
    <cfset allCities = Cities.getCities() />
    <cfset arguments.event.setValue("getAllCities",
    allCities)/>
    </cffunction>
    This cannot be found:
    <!---Search Residentual Properties--->
    <cffunction name="SearchProperties" access="public"
    returntype="void"
    output="false" hint="I displays all the cities for the front
    page">
    <cfargument name="event" type="ModelGlue.Core.Event"
    required="yes">
    <cfset userID = 555555>
    <cfset bedrooms =
    arguments.event.getValue("bedrooms")/>
    <cfset bathrooms =
    arguments.event.getValue("bathrooms")/>
    <cfset footage = arguments.event.getValue("footage")/>
    <cfset minprice =
    arguments.event.getValue("minprice")/>
    <cfset maxprice =
    arguments.event.getValue("maxprice")/>
    <cfset basement =
    arguments.event.getValue("basement")/>
    <cfset garage = arguments.event.getValue("garage")/>
    <cfset CITIES = arguments.event.getValue("CITIES")/>
    <cfset Search = createObject("webservice",
    http://74.86.90.210/realitorToolBox/model/webservices/SearchProperty.cfc?wsdl")/>
    <cfset searchAll = Search.SearchProperty(#userID#,
    #bedrooms#,
    #bathrooms#, #footage#, #minprice#, #maxprice#, #basement#,
    #garage#,
    #CITIES#) />
    <cfset arguments.event.setValue("Results",
    searchAll)/>
    </cffunction>
    Any ideas? My client is getting anxious and I hope to offer
    this service to
    other developers to use for their client's site.

    Ok, I will make this simplier. Couple questions.
    Is it possible to use cfargument in a web service?
    I looked at the samples out there and they all just have
    queries that take a
    form variable (#form.name#) since it was being passed by a
    form.
    Is it possible to have one web service function invoke
    another function in
    the same cfc?
    If you have one function that calls another to first validate
    the user and
    then invoke another to get the search results, do all have to
    be remote or
    can you have the search be private since you dont want it
    invoked remotely.
    I.E.
    <cffunction name="search" access="remote"
    returntype="query">
    <cfset authenticate = authenticateUser(#username#)>
    <cfif authenticate EQ 'yes'>
    <cfset myResults = searchProperty(#mlsnumber#)>
    </cfif>
    <cfreturn my Results>
    </cffunction>
    I tried a simple city search and tried to pass a variable
    argument.
    <cfinvoke
    webservice="
    http://74.86.90.210/realitorToolBox/model/webservices/CityGateway.cfc?wsdl"
    method="findCity" city = "clinton" returnvariable="aQuery"/>to:
    <cffunction name="findCity" access="remote"
    returntype="query"> <cfquery name="getCities"
    datasource="MLSListings"> Select city FROM residential WHERE
    city = '#city#' </cfquery> <cfreturn getCities>
    </cffunction>And I still get a function cannot be found, even
    though I used the cfcexplorer to verify that it does exist on the
    remote server.Any ideas?

  • Confusing Service Control in Workshop Tutorial

    When you are adding a Service Control, Workshop Tutorial recommends to drug-and-drop
    the control descriptor – the .ctrl file from another project – onto your Service
    Component in the Design View. This operation confuses me because it contradicts
    the Web Services principles. If the author of this tutorial intended to demonstrate
    an ability of the tool to accept pre-built 3-rd party control descriptors, I think,
    it would be better to demonstrate this for an Application View Control.
    For Web Services, an application/user, who wants to establish communication with
    a Web Service, is assumed to obtain ( find in UDDI or on a Web Site or in a Repository
    ) related WSDL and, then, create/build appropriate helpers to support this communication.
    So, for the tutorial purposes, I suggest, the right scenario has to
    1)     find the WSDL
    2)     create local ( for the current project ) control descriptor, not a control
    descriptor packaged into another project as it appears in existing Tutorial implementation
    3)     automatically generate helper components for SOAP marshalling/unmarshalling
    I have tested this scenario by copying the WSDL - CreditCardReportContract.wsdl
    - into my “financialservices” project, performed WSDL-to-CTRL conversion and successfully
    run it in the debugger.
    I do invite your opinions on this subject!
    - Michael Poulin

    Since Workshop is recommended by BEA as a Web Services development tool, I think,
    this topic may be shared between Web Services and Workshop newsgroups.
    Point in my comment is not about ability or disability of Workshop of copying
    CTRL files into your project. I tried to explain that this feature is inadequate
    to Web Services in general if it substitutes WSDL.
    I would certainly agree with and appreciate a feature that allows me, as a developer,
    to reuse already existing Control Descriptor available in MY environment. However,
    the Tutorial does not teach “to copy the control's CTRL file to a common folder”.
    Instead, it follows the statement: “If the control will be used only by a single
    web service in your project, you may choose to copy the CTRL file to the same
    folder as your web service”. I doubt that the statement represents Best Practices
    – it couples projects by a derivative, not by the resource. That is, if WSDL has
    been changed, the 3-rd project can re-build CTRL file for itself, you project
    gets into troubles ( it is obvious, right ? ).
    Using Workshop, I am trying to understand how BEA recommends working with Web
    Services. I recognize the power of Connector architecture and common approach
    to resources accessibility represented by CTRL files. At the same time, I see
    that a repository of CTRL files for Web Services can shield developers from Web
    Services in WebLogic environment. If this is an accidental consequence, it has
    to be clearly explained, if not fixed; if it is an intention, I would like to
    hear the BEA comments on how this relates to known WSDL repositories, other standards,
    and reliability of Web Services in the enterprise environment, at least.
    Thank you,
    - Michael

    Michael,
    For questions regarding Workshop, I will suggest you to post to the
    'weblogic.developer.interest.workshop' newsgroup.
    Regarding this query, the docs do state explicitly the following, which
    I
    guess addresses your concern:
    If the CTRL file for the control you wish to use is not in your project,
    you
    must copy it to your project. The destination to which you copy the control
    depends on your expected usage. If the control will be used only by a
    single
    web service in your project, you may choose to copy the CTRL file to
    the
    same folder as your web service. If multiple web services in different
    folders in your project may use the control, you may wish to copy the
    control's CTRL file to a common folder. Remember that the CTRL file must
    be
    in your WebLogic Workshop project.
    Wherever you decide to place the control's CTRL file, it must be in your
    WebLogic Workshop project.
    Do let me know if you have further inputs.

  • Does IT services sales experience can be counted as a domain experience for SAP SD Fresher?

    Hello All,
    I am new to SCN and i need your help.
    I am currently working as a Sales Executive with an IT consulting firm specialized in SAP & Oracle consulting services.
    I want to enter into SAP world and i thought that SAP SD is best for me because of my education (MBA-Marketing) & current experience.
    When i research on SAP SD i got to know that Domain knowledge is very important for a consultant. I felt happy because I have around 3 Years of Sales experience for Oracle & SAP consulting services.
    After enrolling for SAP SD education one day I heard that experience of services industry is not counted as a domain experience.
    I had already invested huge money for SAP SD education and now i am feeling helpless because of this news.
    Please help me with your experience whether IT services sales experience can be counted as a domain experience for SAP SD Fresher or not?
    Waiting for your response.
    Your Junior,
    Alok

    Alok,
    Don't worry! IT service sales experience can be counted as domain experience for SAP SD career.
    After being in SAP for some years (as an end user, key user, SD consultant), the most important things are clear process thinking, perseverance, honest hard work and communication.
    If you have the above qualities, then you will succeed in SAP!
    SAP SD is the logistics side of sales. In other words, there is a Laptop repair shop. If SAP SD is implemented, it will take care of creating repair order, creating billing document. So it is not about selling but about maintaining those "records" in SD.
    The above example is of service. This too is part of SD.
    So if someone has experience in sale of service that is relevant domain experience.
    Apart from this you have to understand, imagine - sale of products.
    In sale of products, there will be one addition step - delivery of product, from the manufacturer to the customer / consumer.
    Focus you mind on learning.
    Good luck!
