Consuming SAP Services outside SAP

Hello,
I want to consume SAP enterprise services outside of SAP but I am not sure if my way of doing it is the right one.
I called the transaction WSADMIN, chose the Service I want to consume and then download its WSDL file.
My problem here is that in the WSDL file there is SAP specific content e.g. marked by <sap:Feature...>
Now when I try to import the WSDL file in another application it gives me back an errormessage. Importing is working when I delete all the SAP specific things from the WSDL. Am I doing something wrong here or is that the way it is supposed to happen?
Also how does the authentication work? Do I have to edit my SOAP message I am sending back to SAP and for example append authentication GET-parameters to the called URL?
Will a pop-up appear when I am not sending authentication details asking me for my username and password? Or will I only receive an error message?
I also would like to know where the actual mapping of data used in services to backend data takes place.
For example let's say you have to define a new Business Object and a new Process Component, in which step do you map your data to the backend database? Or is it somehow done by global data types? Then again, what if you have to enhance you GDTs with additional fields?

you should not check the checkbox SAP features....
Just download the WSDL-file....
The authentication depends on the envirionment you want to trigger the service.
In the latest programming languages like C# for example visual studio generates classes out of the WSDL-file... With this classes you can specify your username and password for example...

I'm doing kind of feasibility study on consuming SAP web
services from CF.
So far so good, but I'm stuck dealing with tables
(import/export parameters in SAP world).
I know how to receive a table object from SAP functions:
* With Apache Axis v1.2: pass an empty CF structure as a
parameter
* With Apache Axis v1.4: pass an empty CF array as a
parameter
Then the parameter is filled with data (replaced with Java
object) and we can just parse the object accordingly.
My question here is whether or not we can pass a *table with
actual records*.
For example, I want to pass a table with multiple records to
update DB records under SAP.
I tried passing (1) CF array of structure and (2) Java
ArrayList with no chance.
The web service call itself completes without errors (no
method signature error), but the SAP function seems to see the
parameter as an empty table.
Anyone has been successful with this case?
Any suggestion would be much appreciated.

Unfortunately CF query object didn't work either.
Now I'm looking at the code generated by Flex Builder to see
how the classes are like ;-)
It's just an ArrayCollection of simple value objects
(representing a row).
So CF array of structure or Java ArrayList looks a reasonable
approach though they don't at all.

have you check the web service is activated?. Have a look to the SICF to see if the service is running.

Error while consuming Odata service from Gateway client i.e /iwfnd/gw_client

Hello Experts.
I am facing below an error while consuming the Odata service from GW client... The error is "No service found for the namespace /IWFND/,name ZTEST_STOREROOM_SRV,version 001". Even i have tried to deep dive in /IWFND/Error_log but no use..
Actually what I was doing :- My aim is to connect multiple back end systems in the same server with the help of Aliasing concept.. I have created multiple aliases and added in the /IWFND/MAINT_Service transaction.. but i am not getting how to consume the service..

HELP: Error while consuming Web Service: ClassCastException

I am trying to consume a web service that I deployed on Tomcat/Axis. Any guideline will be helpful. I generated stubs using WSDL2Java utility from Axis. The method I am trying to call is getFibo(), which returns an object FiboHolder. Unfortunately everytime it is throwing ClassCastException. I have couple of other methods in the service that returns int and int[] and both works fine. Could anyone please help why I am not able to consume the service when it is returning the object FiboHolder but works fine when I consume other methods of the service that returns int or int[]?
Following is my client code:

Please throw some light into this issue i am getting the following exception.
com.sap.engine.services.webservices.jaxm.soap.accessor.NestedSOAPException: Problem in server response: Proxy Authentication Required.
I have given the proxy settings in the com.sap.portal.ivs.httpservice in the portal and also
defined a proxy server in the Visual Administrator under Services -> Webservice Container -> HTTP Proxy Server
I am calling service in the following manner.

Create a abap server proxy and consume the service with the pi WS Navigator

hi all:
i create a abap server proxy ,i use the t_code "sproxy" to generate the proxy, and then write the abap code to implemente the method; then i use the T-code (soamanager) to define the endpoint, but when i click the " Open WSDL document for selected binding" to get the WSDL file ; some error occur,the error is follow:

How to consume of OData service in SUP 2.1.3 for creating MBO for HWC?
Our OData service is having mandatory filters which needs to be passed.
http://xxx:8000/sap/opu/odata/sap/Z_TEST_V2_SRV/Entity_Set_Name/?$filter=Filter1 eq 'value1'and Filter2 eq 'value2'
So, while creating XSD from XML should we need to use the above URL or http://xxx:8000/sap/opu/odata/sap/Z_TEST_V2_SRV/?$format=xml
If we are using http://xxx:8000/sap/opu/odata/sap/Z_TEST_V2_SRV/?$format=xml and convert it in XSD then we are not able to see FEED in the MBO creation.
Also, if we are using http://xxx:8000/sap/opu/odata/sap/Z_TEST_V2_SRV/Entity_Set_Name/?$filter=Filter1 eq 'value1'and Filter2 eq 'value2' and convert it into XSD then we are able to see the FEED in MBO creation but while choosing the fields it is throwing us java.lang.nullpointer exception.
Can anyone explain us the solution for the problem?

Is there a particular reason why SUP 2.1.3 is used and not the latest 2.3.4? It is recommended to move to the most recent version if possible/new project.
For HWC consuming OData service, you can connect directly from your JavaScript without using MBOs. Please take a look at this link:

Do u have a scenario/requirement where u want to consume a GW Service from WebDynpro screens ?
Is it really required ? if at all you want to consume GW service from WebDynpro screens, i think using GW is not a correct solution.
There would be some other ways to consume your Back-end business logic from WebDynpro screens.
I don not know if we can call GW Service in a WebDynpro screens. Technically if its possible also then i think its not correct to do that.
In my opinion GW has to be used in combination with UI5 for light weight applications.

Once you got the client object you can call following methods:
"Set the requrie URL for the web service you want to call. This is not WSDL anyway!!

*Then you can call send method with proper inputs for sending request to WS
CALL METHOD client->send
Then you can use receive method for getting the response
CALL METHOD client->receive
*You can get last error in case of exceptions
CALL METHOD cl_http_client=>get_last_error
*Close the client object
CALL METHOD client->close

The XML Steps URL will be added to the Agentry.ini BaseURL. So you dont' need the full URL on the step.
So when Agentry Runs the step to call the backend it will go:
<BaseURL>/<Step's URL>
This way if you need to change the base URL, IE, going from Dev to QA to Production Server you only need to change the Base, and not go into every step and update it.
URL: This attribute contains the URL to which the Agentry Server will make a request. This value will be appended to the value configured as the base URL for the HTTP-XML system connection. This base URL is configured within the HTTP-XML system connection configuration options for the Agentry Server. Proper use of both this base URL option and the URL entered in the requests of the step definitions can support portability for the application, with the base URL being the implementation-specific portion and the step’s URL being the portion not likely to change for the same back end system from one implementation to the next.
