Consumption of FG to Cost Center flow to COPA

Hi,
We have ML in system.
Users are consuming some FG to Cost Center through MB11 and lets say 711 movement type. So this generates ML documents.
Now question is how can I can see this data in COPA?
When we do Periodic Revaluation in COPA through KE27, only those values that has been sold are only revaluated with PUP price. So that we can see that in Actual COGS value field.
But what about those consumption that occurred in cost center?? How will I reconcile those figure in COPA?
To give more information:
We are running CKMLCP. We do Revaluation of Consumption step.
But in post closing step we are not selecting Revaluation of Consumption check box.
I am finding it very hard to reconcile COPA value and FI doc.
Kindly help.
regards
Kami

Hi Ajay,
Thanks for valuable input.
I also thought in the same line , but user has the following concern on this:
Assessment Cycle: As per Users, it cannot be used because this will allocate based on allocation basis. But they need, the values that was posted at the time of transaction and as per materials. So it wont be accurate through Assessment cycle,
OKB9: They have different Cost center for different valuation area for the same GL Account.
Hence through OKB9 also, we cannot post directly to COPA.
That's the reason the above option were not adopted.
My other concern to this is:
In CKM3, we have two lines under consumption, one for Normal sales PGI and other is Cost Center.
After doing revaluation of consumption in CKMLCP, we see one line under Cost Center :Revaluation of Consumption Figure"
My question, where can I see that figure whether in any table or in Cost Center report??
If that is also available we can try to match those values and post to COPA.
Let me know your thought on this.
Thanks and regards
Kami

  • Cost Center Assessment to COPA

    Hi,
I have done Cost Center assessment to characteristics "Company Code" and "Product". System has even generated COPA documnet for costing based profitability analysis.
However, in report developed through Report Painter(KE32), the value field for which the assessment got posted is not getting displayed.
Can any one guide in this regard.
    Thanks in advance
    Sudhakar

    Hi Sudhakar,
When you do the cost center assessment in COPA, you have given 2 characteristicsi.e product , company code and thru one value field.
When designing report in ke32 (report) and form ke35(form), we will give certain characteristics, so check what are the parameters has been given in the report, bcz values flown thru copa assessment will be available only in compaby code and product not for any other characteristics. I guess you have characteristics in report other than these two.
    I hope this clarifies.

  • Transfer between cost center and to copa

    Dear Forum,
I have 3 points to clarify.
    1) Assessment or distribution, sender cost center is credited and receiver cost center will be debited. cost in sender will reduce and receiver will increase. correct?
    2) For keu3 where cost center to copa, will cost in cost center reduce when transfer to cops?
    3) For keu3, how is the double entry like with the use of assessment cost element when transfer to copa?
    Thanks

    HI,
when defining an aassessment cycle within T-Code KEU5 the sender is cost center / cost element (or a group of them), the receiver is always a combination of CO-PA characteristics that you define within the segment definition.
This characteristics combination + some technical infos are stored with the key PAOBJNR (profitabilty analysis object number).
SO the cost center is credited and the CO-PA receiver (a PAOBJNR) is debited during assessment execution.
    Best regards, Christian

  • Effect of Cost Center Distribution in COPA

    Hi,
We are running the cost center distribution to transfer the cost from one cost center to another cost center. It is creating the controlling document but in COPA  reports the cost is not getting transfered from one cost center to another. How can we transfer the cost from  one cost center to another with the subsequent effect in COPA.
    Thanks
    Ariel

    Hi Ariel,
when you refer to the cost center in COPA, are you talking about the field "sender cost center"?
That field shows the costs center that the costs came from when they were transferred from cost center to COPA through an assessment cycle (KEU5). When you transfer costs from one cost center to another AFTER running the assessment cycles in KEU5, then that transfer cannot have any effect on COPA. You would have to first transfer from one cost center to the other and THEN run the COPA assessment in KEU5.
I hope I have understood your question correctly

  • Material cost charge to Production Order from Cost Center / Work Center.

In Production Order Environment, is it possible that goods are issued from Storage location to Cost Center / Work Center, and in turn charged to Production Orders.
    Scenario. Transformer Manufacturing.
Production Order size : 100 Units
Steel (Kgs) per Transformer : 3 Kgs
Total Steel required for Production Order: 300 Kgs (100x3)
In the process of manufacturing of a Transformer Steel or Core winding is the first process step.
Even though the Steel required for above said Production Order is 300 Kgs, the minimum issuable lot size from stores is 2000 Kgs.
Is it possible in SAP ECC 6.0 that the Steel of 2000 Kgs is issued to a Cost Center / Work Center, and later charged to production order based on actual Consumption in the said Cost Center / Work Center.
Regards, Replies and Sugestions shall be appreciated
    Madhu

    Thank you for the reply,
However, the scenario that i had in mind was a bit different from what you had conceptualized.
Scenario - These transformers are basically for loading on to Inverters & UPS, The max weight of the transformer range from 15-30 Kgs. and they dont have an external casing of steel as seen on Indian Electricity Board transformers. Multiple production orders are processed at a single time in the Plant as per Customer specifications.
The general process followed for manufacture is as follows:
    1. Core Winding u2013 This process takes place in the core winding department. Steel reels are loaded on to Winders and individual cores of approx 5 u2013 30 Cm Diameter are produced. (Multiple reels of Steel are stacked one on top of the other onto a pallet.) Usually issue of steel from stores happens pallet wise. The pallets of steel generally weigh in excess of 2 tons.
In the present situation (Non SAP Environment) the entire pallet of Steel is issued to the Core winding department and later the Output is charged to multiple Production Orders, based on the records of the Core winding dept. Since in general the steel content in the FG ranges from 3- 25 Kgs multiple Production Orders can be catered to from one Pallet of Steel.
    2. Core Laithing. The wound cores are laithed so as to make the sides smooth.
    3. Core Annealing u2013 Heat treatment process.
    4. Core Insulation. u2013 Insulation of the annealed cores with insulating material.
    5. Primary Winding. u2013 Copper is wound as per the BOM Specification. The issue like that of Steel also arises in the Copper winding process. Here also the Cooper comes in Spools which far exceed the requirement for any Production Order. The minimum issueable lot for Copper from Stores is one Spool. The current practice followed is that the Cooper is taken in the name of the Copper winding department and later charged to individual Production Orders.
    6. Primary Soldering.
    7. Mid Insulation.
    8. Secondary Winding
    9. Secondary Soldering
    10. Shielding
    11. Final Insulation u2013 Same issue with insulation too, since the insulating material comes in rolls.
    12. Testing.
    13. Potting & Drilling - Process of pouring a chemical compound in the center of the transformer, which helps the transformer to later be loaded on an Inverter. The same issue with like of Steel, Copper & Insulation arises here too, since the chemical compound comes in big containers capable of meeting production requirement for a week.
    14. Packing
    15. Transfer to FG Inventory.
One of the suggestions was to issue the entire 2000 Kgs to the Production Order and then return 1700 kgs after completion of the Production Order based on actual usage. However, in my opinion this option might not be practicable because, assuming that I get another / multiple Production orders in between the issue of 2000 Kgs and return of 1700 Kgs, issue to the new Production order will not be possible if the stock in stores was only 2000 Kgs initially. In case assuming that the material is available in stores for the next production order, the situation could worsen in case of receipt of multiple production orders.
Hope, I have explained the scenario & issue being faced.

  • Account-based COPA and having Cost Center as Real Object in Sales Order

    Hi,
We have recently activated account-based COPA and in our SO, we realized the Profitability Segment being populated- that is not a problem in normal scenarios.
However, in some cases, we would like to charge to a cost center instead of COPA. We have tried the 2 ways mentioned in the forum/on the web to include Cost Center in Sales Order:
    1. Go to OVF3 t-code and configure a default cost center for the order reason
    2. Change the SD Document Category under 'Define Sales Document Types' to 'I- Order w/o charge'.
However both ways only open the Cost center field but still populates the COPA. At accounting entries, cost center will become a statistical object and COPA, the real object- which is not what we want.
Is there a way to stop the auto-populating of Profitabiltiy Segment in SO when cost center is being entered?
Thanks very much in advance for any suggestions.
    Regards,
    Huimin

Solved by myself, with help of OSS Note: 44381 - Profitability Segment Not Required in SD Postings. Have a CO substitution rule to clear away the Profitability Segment number based on certain conditions. Thanks!

  • Concept of CO- PA cost center assessment

    Hi Experts,
I would like to ask if you could supply me with more info about the concept of cost center cost assessment in COPA. Is this a standard procedure that must done? I am having my 1st SAP implem. and have been preparing too hard to get much info. as I can take about COPA. I have understanding about value fields an characteristics BUT I am having a hard time to understand cost center allo. and why do is there a need to do it (or maybe not). Aren't they supposed to be an automatic process (distribution of figures to COPA reports)? Thanks and I would understand if the question may sound a little unclear.

    Hi,
The cost center assessment to copa comes in places only for allocating the common costs.
Generally, we do allocate the common costs from the common cost center to the respective user cost centers in the overhead accounting.
If the need is to recognise the common overheads directly in COPA, then instead of reallocating the costs with in cost center accounting, we directly transfer the costs to copa thru costcenter assessment to copa.

  • Cost Center wise List of Material Consumption

    Dear Sir,
Kindly guide us , as which Tcode or Report is available to see the Material wise Consumption List  during a period for a given Cost-Center .
Full marks are assured for the suggested solution
    Regards
    B Mittal

    Hi,
You can use T.Code: KSB1 (Display Actual cost line items) in which you can restrict the report by providing the material consumption cost elements and don't give any cost center, which displays all the cost center for the given cost element.

  • Cost Center not flowing in the GL view

    Hi Friends,
The users have made the entries in the system and defined the Cost centers in the respective fields, while posting the documents. However, when we run the GL Report thru FAGLL03, we notice that the Cost Centers do not get displayed in the Report. On further checking the documents posted we find that the cost centers are maintained in the 'Entry View' but these do not flow to the GL view. This is resulting in the values not getting picked up in the Report Painter Form which is based on the table FAGLFLEXT.  How can we chek and waht needs to be done on the config side to enable the values to be flown in the GL view as well and get maintained in the table FAGLFLEXT.
    Thanks for the Help.
    Regards

    Hi Nikhitha,
As advised by Guarav earlier, the cost center scenario has been maintained and in the GL Cost center field has also been included. But still the cost center is not displayed in the GL view.
Is there anything else to be checked in this case.

  • Work flow issue related with the cost center

    Hi ,
I received a strange requirement from my client.
Right now we are working work flow concept for my client.
    1) Sales Order type should be linked and managed by the cost center.
    2) Each cost center should allow a maximum of 10 pieces for the free of charge order. (Order type FD)
    3) There  must be one-to-one relationship between cost center and reviewer. (Reviewer seem like a authorized person, who approve the free of charge order to the respective customer)
Please guide me on this regard.
It will be great help to  me.

  • Cost Center Assessment to Cost Hierarchy based on Actual Consumption error

    Assessment is set up:
SENDER:   Cost Center: Overhead Expenses (values in expense accounts)
RECEIVER:  Top Node of Cost Object Hierarchy  (material consumption has been posted to two objects - related account has value and quantity fields)
    Segment is set up:
    Sender Rules: Posted Amounts
    Share:100%
    Actual value origin
    Receiving tracing factor:
    Receiver rule: Variable Portions
    Var. portion type: Actual Consumption
    No Scaling
Assumption is that "Var. portion type: Actual Consumptions" means the quantity in the consumption account on the receiver from the inventory posting.     Is this true?

Hi dear Ajay, thank you for your answer.
first, I understand the difference between KSUB and KSU5, in the defined scenario, we have both. planned values, become actual with the MEC activities. business definition.
regarding the cycle, I have setup assessment cost element so we can get all planned lines posted as 1.
On sender tab I have only the cost center. no cost element defined.
    receiver its cost center.
furthermore, i've not setup allocation structure, so all cost elements should be allow, there is no restriction on this.
the only difference is: planned costs which their origin is already an assessment are not being assessed again.
I can show you the print screens with cycles setup if it helps

  • Cost center cost flow

    hi,
I would like to clarify if below process is correct.
1 indirect cost center to allocate out indirect cost or fixed cost to direct cost center
2 direct cost center with all its own variable cost + allocated cost from indirect cost center, via keu3 cycle to copa
3 can indirect cost center directly via keu3 cycle to copa?

  • Assign Cost Center for Internal Consumption in Sales Order

    Dear Experts,
I have a scenario is that Marketing Manager want to give a gift to his customer, the expense of this gift will be charged to Marketing Department. As the law, the invoice of this gift is required with the posting as below:
    Dr Expense acc 5000 USD
    Cr Revenue acc 5000 USD
(Assume that there is no tax)
I create a Sales Order with the Product is the Gift that will give to customer, and I also assign the Cost Center as Marketing Department. The problem is when I generate the billing document from this Sales Order, the system throw the error: Cost Center XYZ (Marketing Department) is not allowed posting revenue. This error happen because I don't want to post revenue to Cost Center, I want only Expense will be posted to Cost Center. But because I assigned Cost Center in header of Sales Order, system will post both revenue an expense to this CO object. Now what I want to do is post Expense to Cost Center, revenue to Profit Segment. Is it possible and what I need to do if it is possible?
