From Contacts, anyway (the new version of Address Book) you can export to a .abbu file and import then into Outlook. I'm not sure about Mail as I only really use Outlook...

I'm afraid so. The iCloud control panel is only compatible with Outlook 2007 or later.

However, you should still be able to add your iCloud mail account manually in Outlook using the server information.

  • Outlook gets crazy. Duplicated mails and deleted contacts and mails.

    Hi,
I work in an enviroment migrated from Notes 8.5 to Exchage 2010 SP3 RU2.
The Outlook client from a limited set of networks are losing their contacts and mails from their mailboxes 2 weeks ago or in the other hand the mails get duplicated several times.
The issue ocurrs with any versión of Outlook through Outlook Anywhere.
There are 2 weird events in event viewer that I have noted is event 2915 AD Access outlined in  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2668900/en-us and some events 4999 Dr. Watson

Our antivirus provider has analyzed the servers and desktops without any possitve conclusión too.
The duplicates mails are not duplicates in the SMTP delivery.
We have enabled the mailbox audit for admin, delegates and owner with the only evidence that truly the mails are deleted by the owner.

    Hi,
How about keeping using OWA and see whether the issue still persists.
If the issue still occurs in OWA, I suggest we enable the Mailbox auditing logging to find who deletes the items.

  • Outlook and icloud contacts and mail sync OK but calendar will not.  Why?

I have Outlook 2010 on a Win 7 PC.  iCloud syncs Mail and Contacts with my iP4 and Outlook without any problems but Outlook Calendar will not.  iCloud set up procedure worked fine with Contacts and Mail.  But when setup is run for Calendar, a message pop up says that iCloud Mail must be "enabled" in Outlook before Calendar can be synced.
iCloud Mail has been setup on iP4 and in Outlook.  I can send and receive test messages to "me.com" from the iP but can't send test messages from the "me.com" account setup in Outlook.  When I try to send a test message from Outlook mail account setup a dialog box asks for my "me.com" password which I enter but then asks me again and again until I finally give up.  So, I think I've set it up but clearly, it's not been "enabled" to allow syncing with Calendar even though Contacts and Mail seems to work.  BTW, Outlook navigation pane (left side) shows an iCloud folder in both Contacts and Mail but NOT in Calendar.  Which shows, I think, that Calendar has indeed not been enabled.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

  • Address Book Contacts and Mail Previous Recipients Missing/Empty/Deleted

At one point yesterday, I was happily catching up on some email using Mail. All was well. I toggled a message as Junk and went to forward it to [email protected], which was, of course, in my Previous Recipients list. Only this time it wasn't. I noticed, too, in iChat, that all of my buddies had reverted to their IM screen names from their normal Address Book-based First Name/Last Name. So I opened Address Book (which had not been running), and it was empty!
To the best of my recollection, though I have a .Mac account, there was no syncing that occurred during any of this. Worse, when I did a manual Sync to see if .Mac would restore my contacts, it didn't. My Address Book remained empty. Fortunately, it didn't propagate its emptiness to .Mac, which I checked via the Web.
When I fired up my spare iBook, everything seemed fine, and a sync there didn't blow away anything.
I found a few posts that recommended replacing my now empty AddressBook.data file with AddressBook.data.beforesave, which was large enough to seem like it might still have a lot of my contacts. I did this, and my Address Book and Previous Recipients were partially restored. The only problem is that the beforesave file was dated June 2004 and is missing all contact information over the past year and a half.
What the heck happened?! Is there any better solution out there? Any thoughts on why .Mac wasn't able to restore the file? Also, what does Previous Recipients have to do with the Address Book data files?

Is your iBook the way you want it? all of your addresses? if so maybe you could back up that database and replace the old one thats fallen to pieces. If you try that though theres no real chance I think of rebuilding that old one as far as I know. My entouage database was an all in one type of deal. when it fell apart, you lost everything. I went to the mac mail and address book after that. everything is in seperate folders with that stuff. usually I've only seen this on older running installs of OS X. Like there is a bunch of directory probs. then things gradually get goofier over time.
Thats strange it doesn't want to import contacts to your computer.
    I'll ask around

  • UPgraded to Lion and can now longer access all my Entourage Contacts and Mail. What do I do. Desperate

All my mail , contacts can no longer be opened as Entourage is a PPC app.
What do I do to recover contacts and migrate to Apple mail.
Would really appreciate help. Very important to me

  • Contacts and Mail:  iMac upgrade perfect!  MacBook Pro? kind of disastrous

Hello everybody.  Seeking a bit of guidance.  First, what I did:
iMac: I downloaded and installed the Mountain Lion upgrade.  It worked flawlessly.  I haven't discovered any issues at all.  I was thrilled.
MacBook Pro:  I downloaded and installed the Mountain Lion upgrade.  I'm having very big problems with Mail and Contacts, and moderately big problems in some other areas.
Contacts - Despite logging in to iCloud in System Preferences and confirming all options to be enabled, Contacts will not load. It takes a long time to open, with a spnning ball for about a minute and a half or so, and then nothing happens.  I deselected Contacts in System Preferences and then reenabled it.  This didn't help.  I then signed out of iCloud altogether (opting to delete anything that might be kept locally on the machine) and then logged back in.  This didn't help.  I then went into Contact preferences, and disabled and then reenabled my iCloud account.  This didn't help.  I rebooted twice.  This didn't help.  I repaired permissions.  This didn't help.   I shut it down for 8 hours because I was about to destroy it with a hammer at that point.    This didn't help.
Mail issue #1 - Mail takes forever (okay, about 2 minutes to be more accurate) to load.  My inbox loads correctly (verified with my iOS devices and my iMac) as well as other mailboxes.  However, I can't switch between mailboxes without the spinning ball taking over.  The application becomes unresponsive and has has to be forced to quit.  For example, when I switch between inbox and sent mail, the application becomes useless and just hangs.
Mail issue #2 - Mail is no longer completing addresses when I attempt to create a new email.  I am accustomed to Mail giving me a dropdown list to choose from after I type a few characters.  During my efforts to troubleshoot Mail last night, I would type a few letters and in the middle of typing the address, Mail would freeze up and not allow me to continue typing.  The "processing" spinning grey icon on the right side of the address entry box would spin and spin and spin like it was trying to find my address options, but eventually would just give up after about two minutes, at which point it would "release" and allow me to cotinue manually typing the address.  I'm not sure exactly how that works, i.e. does that information come from history in Mail or from the Contacts app, but for whatever reason, it's not working.
System Preferences - Takes a long time to open, and then an equally long time to close.  More spinning blue wheel time.
I hope I explained everything clearly.  I wanted to make sure that if I'm asking for help from the community that I gave as much detail about the problems and what actions I have taken.
Thanks in advance to anybody who can offer any guidance.
    Richard

You are definitely not alone. Have exactly the same issues on my MacBook Pro (early 2011 model) with 8GB RAM and 200 GB plus space on my HD remaining. Thought it was because a lot of apps were open but have the same problem when only running Mail plus, of course, some stuff that runs in the background all the time. But nowhere near the limit.
After upgrading yesterday Mail did a correct update of the database and was working OK the problem started this morning. One thing I noticed was that with Mail running (not properly but running) I used the send web page feature in Safari and noticed that in the dock the Mail app was loaded again and I seemed to have it running twice.
A new message window opened with the content filled but trying to enter an email address produced the spinning beach ball for like a minute and with every keystroke. Finally force quit and now it seems to hang each time.
Restarted the Mac a number of times without result.

  • I lost my contacts and mail folders on my exchange server but they are still on my MAC. How can I resync?

I run both a MAC and a PC with two different mail clients Entourage vs. Outlook. I have never had a problem with the clients syncing with the Exchange server until I did an archive of all emails in outlook that were older than this year. Now some subfolders have disapeared on the PC and the Exchange server but still show up in Entourage. How can I resync Entourage to the Exchange and have Exchange server "accept" the Entourage folders as correct?
Also I use an Iphone and backup to the icloud. So why did my contacts disapear from the iphone and are not restored via icloud? The missing contacts also disapeared from exchange.
    Iphone 4s ver 5.1.1
    Exchange 2003
MacBook Pro OSX 10.5.x ( I think - since the finder->about this Mac button doesnt work)
    Entourage 12.3.3
    Thanks so much.

  • Can I have one Apple ID for personal (music) and one for work (syncing contacts and mail)  on the save device

Between my husband and I we have 6 devices and we are only allowed to share our Apple ID across 5.  Some of the devices are for music and outlook and some are just for music - can I have a separate Apple ID for my mail and contacts.  ie. Can you use two different Apple ID's on the same device?

Oh maybe ipads and iphones aren't counted in the five

  • IMac and iPad sync with cloud no problems, iTouch with OSi4.2.1 is now wiped out, how do I sync contacts and mail?

I am not a happy mac user at the moment.  I have a new ipad OSi 5.0 works fine with my two Lion systems.  I have an iPod touch with OSi 4.2.1 I was trying to sync my calender, mail and contacts.  It did the mail and calender but it wiped out my contacts.  I not only want them back, I want them synced with the other systems.  I should not have to buy a new touch to get this to work!
I would be happy to upgrade the OSi if it was an option!

You can't actually delete an iCloud account but you can remove it by signing out at System Preferences>iCloud if it is the promary account, or in Mail, Contacts & Calendars if the secondary, and then juste ignore it.
The Blackeberry can only sync with data held under 'On My Mac'. iCloud can only sync with data under 'iCloud'.
When you set up iCloud your calendars and contacts were moved to the iCloud server. If you want to use Blackberry you will have to move them back to 'On My Mac' and not sync with iCloud: it's one or the other.
To move calendars, follow the second set of numbered instructions here:
    http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/icloudmovecalendars.html
To move contacts, File>Export as vCard when you have selected all your contacts, then delete the contacts under iCloud, make 'On My Mac' the default and reimport the vCard.

  • Transferring contacts and Mail folders

I just bought a new iMac to replace my 8 year old MacPro and was advised here to install all apps with a clean install rather than migrate 8 years of content over to the new machine.  I am about to do this but have another question:   How do I transfer over my Contacts, Mail folders and Safari bookmarks?  Thank you very much!  Don

Peruse Pondini's Setup New Mac guide and seriously consider, as rkaufmann87 notes, migrating using the Setup Assistant on first boot. That ensures that your new machine mimics your old and retains eight years worth of settings.

  • Contact and Mail settings issue ?

Cannot open Contacts anymore after iOS5 upgrade. When I try to set Mail and Contact it crashes to the main screen.  I did a complete restore but the problem is still there.  icloud is not activated.
Also, when I try to sync the contacts with my computer, I get a message sayng that Contact is being used and cannot be accessed.  Any idea on how to resolve this?

I actually discovered that the fix for the iPhone calendar not syncing correctly was either a recent MS update (We are using Exchange 2003) and or adjustment to Sites and Services in AD. So my fix above was not the fix after all. Some iPhone users during the last two weeks all of a sudden noticed their calendars were syncing and events were filled in.
From our Windows IT Admin when I asked them what they did:
“We ran Microsoft updates weekend before last, and we adjusted the Sites and Services part of AD so that our Domain Controllers are associated with their correct location (this change rendered RPC over HTTPS inoperable (it worked about 50% of the time prior to this change, based on which DC you authenticated against)).”

  • Since update, ipad has probs with contacts and mail! Doesn t work

I can t open contacts! Try send email, the program closes suddenly. Same with contacts! Does somebody know the problem? The problem persists since update to ios5?, thx for help

I cant say mine ever did that after ios 5..
the only problems i noticed was the rapid battery drain..and when id go into my calender appoitments they would disappear..i had to exit and re-enter the callender app to make them appear again.
Have u done a hard reset by holding down the home & sleep button for more than 15 secs ??
Also ios 5.0.1 is out..have u updated to that..it could help correct ur issues ur having at the moment.
