Contact Assignment

Hi folks,
We are having a bit of a problem with contact assignment in the Webclient and I was wondering if anyone has experienced this before.
If we select an activity partner it automatically adds each contact person associated with that activity partner. It also adds the activity partner as a contact person which results in an error.
We tried to add the contact person before the Business Partner and this solved the problem of all the contacts being added but now it adds the contact person as an Activity Partner as well as the usual problem of the business partner being added as a contact person.
If anyone experienced anything like this before it would be great if you could let me know how you dealt with it.

Changing Contact assignment to account

Dear experts,
in SAP standard it seems that it's not possible to change an existing assignment from a contact to an account in BP_CONT component. When I create a contact and assign an account, the account field becomes read only and cannot be changed anymore..
So I enhanced component to set this field to be input ready after assignment as well. But when I enter another account nothing at all happens..
any ideas?? Thank you!!

Hi,
Yes this is a standard SAP feature , you will not able to change the assigned Account from the Contact Overview screen.
To change the assignment you need to go to that particular Account and in the Account Overview page goto Contact AB and then delete that particular Contact Person and then save that account.
Now if you open your contact person you will find the Account field as blank and you can assign a different account.
To enhance the component and just making the field enabed wont work as this feature will be coded somewhere in some class or BADI.

Contact vs Relationship Assignment Block

Hi All,
I need little help understanding difference between Contact Assignment block and Relationship Assignment Block.
Why does it required to add sales org in Contact assignment block?
How can i configure so that i can add more fields like phone # , Email etc.
What is the purpose of Relationship assignment than... since we are adding contact as a relationship?

Hi Amish,
The contact person relationship has a sales area dependent data as there is view assigned to the contact person relationship.
If you do not want the slaes area assignment, then you will have to copy the contact person relationship into a custom one and remove the views which are not needed by you.
1. Navigate to the transaction BUBA.
2. Copy the relationship category BUR001 into a custom relationship category.
3. Select the custom relationship category and click on Category -> Views
4. Remove the views which you do not need.

How can I change the contacts app settings to view by groups?

When I had an iPod Touch (3rd generation), I was able to sort my contacts by groups by using another app and then when I launched the default contacts app I could tap the "Groups" button and I saw a list of them (Family, Friends, Businesses, etc). That way, I could tap the group I wanted and only view those contacts. Now I'm using an iPhone (4th generation with iOS 6.1.2) and it is the most obnoxious contacts system in the world. I now have to unselect every group I don't want to see, and it's a pain-in-the-neck to get Facebook contacts assigned to groups as the app I use to assign contacts to groups isn't "permitted" to use those contacts that are from Facebook or those who don't have a Facebook link unless I add them and delete the old. I work with a nonprofit organization and I have a lot of contacts for various businesses through them but I shouldn't have to unselect 12 different groups just to view a single group. I've tried looking in settings and can't figure out how to change this. I must have over 100 contacts and this is a pain to deal with. Did Apple really think this was the best change they ever made to the contacts app? Considering they still haven't implemented the ability to assign contacts to groups...
Another thought is why not also view contacts by business or "theme"? Such as, what if you have a large, extended family and might want to view just 1 section (like my cousins' family who have various last names due to marriage). This is why being able to view by group is so important to me but if I create 5 different groups for family and friends, that means I have to unselect 4 of them AND all the other groups for businesses, work, community, etc just to view the specific contacts. So, did Apple change this or am I just not seeing how to view them the way I want?

I assume that you are in Germany ? Try going to the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app on your iPad and tap on your account id, tap on 'View Apple ID' on the popup and log into your account, and then select the Country/Region section and select Germany.

Address book groups: can't customize contacts with multiple email

I have many groups setup in address book and frequently like to use them. Additionally, several of my contacts assigned to groups have multiple email addresses. Is there a way to specifiy which email address of a contact's associates itself with the group? I have not been able to figure this out and am aggravated when I send out personal emails to my friends' work addresses, much to their chagrin.

Then you would use the, "Edit Distribution List" from the Address Book's Edit menu. Select the applicable group and then select which email address that you want the group to use.

Restrict Contact Person replication from CRM to ECC based on Partner Funct

Hi Experts
We are replicating Contacts from CRM to ECC, by assigning them to Accounts. We have a scenario to restrict Contact Person replication to ECC only for specific Partner functions (we have 5 such partner functions), for remaining partner functions the contact Persons should not be replicated to ECC.
By Partner function I mean, while making this assignment of Contact to an Account in u201Ccontact Person Relationships datau201D under u201CPartner Function Assignment blocku201D (in web UI) we are adding a Partner function E.g. Author, (same can be seen in GUI, under Usage tab of CP Relationship data).
However we were able to replicate contacts assigned to accounts to ECC in our 5 partner functions, but even the unwanted contacts assigned to other partner functions in CRM are also getting replicated
How can I restrict CP replication from CRM to ECC based on Partner Functions assigned to the Contact Person

Great, it works!. However, I have one additional doubt/issue. I use to have ALL my contacts assigned to a group (1760 contacts, 9 groups). Since I am adding new contacts "on the go" using my iPhone, there is no way to assign the new comers to a group using the iPhone, so I have to wait till I get my iMac at the of the day or the week. The question is easy: how do I know which contacts are not assiged? (other than going through the entire list pressing the Option key, of course)

Contacts and Speed Dial issue

This evening I went to call someone on my Pre Plus and my contacts were gone. Rebooted, they came back. Tried the speed dial again and it does not work. The contacts DO have the speed dials assigned. They worked yesterday....Anyone know what the problem is? I can't find anything here about it!

Hello and welcome to the forums;
Are any of your contacts assigned to the Z or B keys? If so, try reprogramming those contacts temporarily to another key. Also, have you tried un-assigning a speed dial and then re-assigning it to see if the speed dial comes back?

Changing Contact person's Work Address to his own Address

Hi everyone,
In an Account, I want to change the Work Address of a Contact to his own address.
By default, the contact's address comes up as the Account's address(which is a known thing).
How and what should I do so that I can see Contact's own address in the Work Address column in the CONTACTS assignment block in an Account..?
Please suggest if there is any solution for this.

Contact partner in bapi BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2

Hi abapers:
I have a problem when creating sales orders with a contact as a partner.
Filling the internal table of Partners, I assign CP (Contact) and Contact number which is comming from table KNVK.
When calling the bapi, the sales order is created with the contact but not the Contact assigned by me. At the end, the contact is taken, by the bapi, from the sold-to. In case of the sold-to doesn't have any contact created, no contact partner is created.
Of course, the contact number assigned via program and the contact number of sold-to are differents.
I don't know why SAP decides to take the contact from sold-to instead of taking the data provied by the program.
Please, i need you help.

I called the BAPI (Login language = EN) using partner AP <customer no> and it worked.
I assume you have to set IMPORTING parameter CONVERT = 'X' in order to ensure that the BAPI interprets the language-dependent partner role correctly.

HT1688 iPhone continually drops the image I set for a contact

My iPhone continually drops the image I set for a contact. I have set a picture for my wife's contact multiple times and several days later I will notice it is not there. Any ideas on why this is happening? Pictures for other contacts are stable.

Okay, so let me see if I understand you. You say the text tone plays on certain contacts, but on others it just vibrates. The default text tone plays, but if you assign a custom text tone to a contact that does not play, it just vibrates. So, The certain people that the text tone plays, from your response after I asked about the mute switch, are these contacts assigned the default text tone. The ones that only get a vibration are assigned the custom tones? Am I getting this right?

How to share icalendars, and contacts across users with iphones

We recently purchased two iphone 5cs for my husband and I to use. We want to share the contacts and ical on our Macbook Air. Currently the Macbook Air is set up as my computer with my id. How do I share the ical and contacts with my husbands phone?

My suggestion would be to open that "second" icloud account. Use it for you and your colleague(s). Then transfer every contact that you want to share onto that account.
Going to Settings---> Mail, Contacts, Calendars---> Add Account to add the new account, and set the Contacts to ON.
When you want to add/edit/delete a contact from that account. Just open Contacts---> Select Groups and select that account from the list. You can then add/edit/delete the contacts.
Going this route will keep your personal contact list separate from the professional list.
You can use iCloud, google, Yahoo, Outlook.com and others. Personally I'll stick with an IMAP service. As you can also use the Notes in the Notes app. *Separate from the Contacts Note section you mentioned.

Contacts glitch post-IOS6

After upgrading to IOS6 I've noticed a weird problem with both my iPhone 4S and iPad2 and Contacts. I have a number of Groups in Contacts (Family, Office, etc.). Before when I wanted to find a particular contact, I would tap on the Group name and a list of contacts assigned to that group would be listed. After installing IOS6 when I tap on Groups I just get the option to remove or add a check mark to that group. The only way to get to an actual contact is to tap on Done on the Groups window and search by name in the All Contacts screen. Too cumbersome! Is there a work-around for this?

OK -- figured out how it now works. In Contacts, tap on Hide All Contacts to remove all the checkmarks. Tap on the Group name for which you want to see the contacts, tap Done. Voila! Just the names for that Group are shown.

IOS 5.0.1 glitch with address book and text messages!

Since updating to the newest software, my iphone 4s no longer recognizes contacts in my address book. So when a text comes through it doesn't have a contact assigned to it. Same thing when a call comes through, just the phone number shows up. Also I noticed that some of the phone numbers I have in my address book are not inputed the same as others. example of how it should look : +1 (555) 555-5555. After the update the numbers look like this : 5555555555
I have had to go back in and manually input the +1 infront of all of these phone numbers to even activate a call using that contact number. Also my wifi connection seems to come and go, sometimes recognizing my wireless network when I am at home and sometimes it doesnt. Anybody else having these problems?

I am having a problem similar. My messages come in with the phone number showing if the number is entered without the number 1 in front of it, but when I try to have siri call someone who doesn't have the number 1 infront, she can't call them. It was working fine yesterday before the upgrade
