  • Cat Express 500 Slow Admin and keeps crashing

    Hi
    I have a customer with 2x WS-CE500-24PC and 2x WS-CE500-24TT
They are brand new and most ports are set to IP Phone smartports with 2 as wireless access ports and 1 router port with an 1841 in it. They are all uplinked together.
When first rebooted http admin access is ok but after a couple of minutes it becomes un-usable and then eventually the switch reboots (does this 2 times a day).
i have 1x WS-CE500-24LC and this is fine never misses a beat, its also linked into the same network.
here is where it gets crazy, if i set all the ports to other its fine, but i cannot use any of the phones because it does not put them in the voice VLAN.
Any ideas it driving me and my customer mad.
    Andy

Try to disable the arp inspection feature in the CE500's CLI.
This feature can sometimes introduce some disconnectivity on this particular switch.
Enter the following line in your browser:
    http://10.0.0.1/exec/cli
    ip arp inspection vlan 1-1024
ip arp inspection vlan 1-1024 logging acl-match none
ip arp inspection vlan 1-1024 logging dhcp-bindings none
If your switch uses a different ip address than please use that address. After you applied this, it will take about 15 till 20 minutes to decrease the cpu utlization.

  • Weblogic deployment ( admin and managed server)

I have one AdminServer and One ManageServer running on the same IP Address with
    different ports,
AdminServer and ManagedServer is coming up without any errors, I able to access
the index.jsp using the following URLs
    http://hostname:7001/index.jsp (Admin Server)
    http://hostname:8001/index.jsp (Managed Server)
my index.jsp I have several other hperlinks ( say contacts, help etc)
Once my servers ( admin and managed ) are started successfully, I'm able to browse
thru my application using the first URL.
but if I accessed the application using the second URL the index.jsp is coming
from port no (8001), which I observed thru the access.log and if I click any other
links(contacts, help) in the index.jsp, it is access the jsps from (7001) instead
    of 8001.
I think in my Jsp I'm using a wrong mechanism to read the URL, what is the proper
way to read the correct URL?
Please help me to sort out this issue

    Tested and got it worked.

  • WebService URL in Admin and Managed Server????

    All,
    WLS configuration:
    Admin Server:7001
    Managed Server:7003
Both Admin and Managed Servers reside in the same machine.
Which is the correct URL for accessing the webservice?
    http://localhost:7001/test/testWebService?WSDL
              OR
    http://localhost:7003/test/testWebService?WSDL
    WLS configuration:
    Admin Server:7001
    Managed Server:7003
    Managed Server:7004
Both Admin and the 2 Managed Servers reside in the same machine.
Two managed Servers form the cluster.
What will be the correct URL to access the webservice
    http://loclahost:XXXX/test/testWebService?WSDL
    what is XXXX???
    Thanks
    Jay

Services will be deployed in managed servers only.
Then in the first case it will be
    http://localhost:7003/test/testWebService?WSDL
In the second case, wherein 2 Managed servers are there.
What will be the accesing webservice URL?? when the services are deployed in both.
Will the admin server redirect the requests to the managed servers??
    How do I access???
    Thanks

I'm doing the Oracle BI Standard Edition One tutorial and I'm having a problem at section 3.8 when registering the locations. I go to the Control Center Manager, right-clicked the BISE1_TUTORIALWH_LOCATION and selected Register. I introducted the password, checked the connection and pressed Ok as said in the tutorial. After that, I get the following error in a window:

  • Managing Disco Users and reports

    Hi,
I am finding it very difficult to manage the increasing discoverer users and reports.
I need to develop a tool or process to report, manage Discoverer active users and reporting for license compliance.
How to review user reports for possible deletion/preservation and final deletion of a user database logon?
How to delete a list of users?
How to preserve any shared reports that are actually used.?
How to clean up and delete their unused reports?
How to report: all active in a year (in last 6 months rolling), top 50, inactive?
any suggestions on how to get started with this?
    Visakh

    Marcelo,
You can manager users using EUSM (executable) found on the oid/ovd installation. Global/local role has to be created on the database side. All EUS mapping can be done on the OID or OVD side using "eusm". There is a metalink note that gives lots of examples on this. Or you can also use enterprise manager grid control that lets you do the same.
As or OVD vs. OID, I am not aware of any major limitations. just operational limitations. Since OID is a ldap server by itself, you can do a lot of tracing/auditing yourself instead of relying on other LDAP admins (unless you manage other ldap servers also). We are currently implementing oid 11.1.1.2 for EUS and I know of my previous employer who is in the middle of implementing OVD 11g (with sun one directory).

  • Query regarding converting application tier (concurrent and reports) into shared APPL_TOP

    Hi,
Our E-business suite production server has four nodes configuration. 1. Application Nodes: APP1 , APP2 (Web and forms services are running on these two nodes) 2. Database Nodes: DB1, DB2 (DB-SRV - common name) (SAN storage with Active/Passive OS cluster configuration) Also the concurrent and reports services are running here.
Currently, the APP1 and APP2 application files are configured in shared APPL_TOP. It is not enabled for concurrent and reports services which is running along with database. I already checked the metalink doc id for the same.
I'm expecting your suggestion that we should take care while enabling the shared APPL_TOP for concurrent node+reports.
It would be also great, if any one give rough outline plan for the same.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Senthil

    Hi,
Below is my plan to add the conc admin and reports server to the shared appl_top.
    1. Run adpreclone.pl appsTier on the conc admin node. i.e. run adpreclone in node DB-SRV
    2. Verify and enable context variable s_isAdConc, s_isAdConcDev context variables.
    3. Mount the node-App1 application file system to node DB-SRV.
    4. Copy the existing .rdf files(located in DB-SRV) to the shared appl_top.
    5. Then run autoconfig on DB-SRV.
Can anyone review and let me know, if something is wrong here or need to be modified?
    Regards, Senthil

  • Ask the Expert: Cisco Unified Contact Center Express (UCCX) Version 10.0 - Upgrade, Migration, and New Features Overview

                With Abhiram Kramadhati
Welcome to the Cisco Support Community Ask the Expert conversation. This is an opportunity to learn and ask questions about the upgrade, migration methods, and new features of the latest released Version 10.0 of Cisco Unified Contact Center Express (UCCX) with Cisco expert Abhiram Kramadhati.
Abhiram will address the following on the latest release of Cisco UCCX Version 10.0:
    Installation
Upgrade from previous versions - both Linux and Windows
Migration from MCS to Cisco UCS environment - Different methods and best practices
New features - Overview and limitations
This discussion will center on install and upgrade best practices, changes in hardware support, and migration methods from MCS to Cisco UCS. He can also briefly discuss the new features introduced in 10.0. The discussion focuses the latest versions, but queries about general Cisco UCCX topics can be addressed too if time allows.
Abhiram Kramadhati is an engineer with the Contact Center Backbone group. He has been working with Cisco UCCX since he joined Cisco. During two years at Cisco, he has built his expertise around Cisco UCCX telephony applications, Java Telephony API (JTAPI) integration, Cisco UCCX system behavior, LDAP components, and Cisco UCCX as IP interactive voice response in Unified Contact Center Enterprise (UCCE) environments. He also works on other technologies, including Unified Communications Manager and UCCE. He has been involved in many technical escalations in the Asia Pacific region. Hi Anurag,
    Thanks for your questions.
1:Is there change in DB architecture as CUIC is the only option as compared to previous linux version UCCX ?
I assume this is from the tables regarding historical data. The database schema essentially remains the same since UCCX 9.0 had CUIC too and we had a seperate DB Space for CUIC and we still continue with that. The traditional historical tables remain and the replication process remains the same too.
2:Is there any version change for Linux OS used as VOS,
The Linux version is Red Hat Linux 5. To be precise:
    [root@uccx10pub /]# cat etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.7 (Tikanga)
3:Is there any API architecture change in UCCX 10 from previous releases ?
I can answer this more of an overview. The only enhancement in the API side is the introduction of REST API step in the script editor. You can now make REST calls from the script and this ofcourse opens up a whole new world of possiblities.
4:Since from UCCX 10 , we can only use either CAD or Finnesse at one  time, whats the impact of changing this after some time in production,  let say , i used CAD for 2 months and then i decided to move to Finesse,  whats the impact ? or is it a smooth change as switching CUIC and HRC  in previoius release ?
For the scenario you mentioned, there is absolutely no problem. The point to note is that the Finesse services are activated/deactivated but the CAD desktop services are ALWAYS running. The only condition to keep in mind is that you can use ONLY ONE type of agent desktop at any time.  Also if Finesse is not used and CAD operations are used extensively, it is advisable to shutdown the Finesse service.
5:Is 3rd Party UCS hardware supported by UCCX 10 instead of using Cisco manufactured UCS , can i use HP hardware for Virtualisation ?
Yes, it can be used. This is something called as "Third party specs based specification". The most important things seen for compatibility are:
    Inter CPU Model
It it is on thVMWare Hardware Compatibilty List
You can get more information about this on the "Can I use this server?" section of UC Virtualized Hardware page:
    http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/UC_Virtualization_Supported_Hardware#.22Can_I_use_this_server.3F.22
    6:Is Host name change supported?
Yes, the hostname change is supported. The prcocedure is documented in the UCCX 10.0 Administration Guide:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_10_0/configuration/guide/UCCX_BK_W1AF9DDD_00_uccx-admin-guide-10.0.pdf (Pg 168)

As you would aready know, the UCCX will send an AXL request (within the SOAP envelope) to the CUCM to create this RP. Looking at the existing code, there does not seem to be a method where we are differentiating between CFB_internal and CFB_external while sending this request.
We have taken this as an enhancement request and also spoken to the business unit about the same. It has been added to the roadmap, we will reach out to you offline to understand the business case so that the process can be expedited if needed.
    Keep the questions coming
