Contact different

My girlfriend has just had an iPhone 5c, and when she tries to facetime me, the call doesn't come to my phone but does come through to my Macbook Pro and iPad.
When I try to FaceTime her from my iPhone 5s I cannot, the option to FaceTime isn't in her contact, but it is if I'm on the iPad or MacBook Pro...and all three of my devices (iPhone 5s, iPad and MacBook Pro) use the same contacts from my iCloud account.
Do anyone know why this is happening and or how to fix it?

Short term solution, do this on both devices
Settings > iCloud > Shut off anything you don't want shared
Long term solution (actual solution)
You need seperate Apple IDs for iCloud. iTunes and iCloud are not the same.
Create a new Apple ID > https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/
On one of the devices go Settings > iCloud > Delete Account > Sign in with the new Apple ID
This will seperate your Contacts, Calendars, Messages etc.
You both can continue to use the same Apple ID for iTunes and share apps and music

Iphone3GS-4S tranferring contact different apple-id

My wife has a Iphone 3GS and bought a 4S (still to initialize).
She wants to use a different appel-id on her new iphone.
1 How can she transfer her contacts from one iphone tot the other with different apple-id's.
2 Can she you use the same i-cloud id for both and transfer contacts that way?

Because that Apple ID is stored inside those applications and tracked independently from the one signed into the iTunes App Store.

Contacts - Different handling country formats

Hi
I've put quite a bit of time and effort into my Contacts, I've everyone entered properly but I am struggling with the formatting the software is applying.
I have contacts in different countries, I used to live in Ireland, but now live in France.
Now when I enter a contact in the US, it will only accept the format as
Street
Postcode Town
Country
which is the French formatting.
So I have no place for State, also zip code is moved to the front
I've also noticed that contacts I had entered correctly before have lost their state, it just seems to be hidden.
So an address I had before which was
Mr X
123 Main St
Brigantine NJ 08203
United States of America
is now
Mr X
123 Main St
08203 Brigantine
United States of America
how can I fix this? I have addresses in US, UK, Ireland, France, Australia etc and the formats are slightly different.
I know before it used to change depending on the country entered, but now it is strictly adhering to French address formatting.
I thought that maybe it didn't recognise "United States of America" so I tried "États-Unis" but this doesn't work either...

Ok, found it, click on the address type (Home, Work etc) and you can select address format.

How can I use the same apple id on 2 iphones yet have the owner contact different?

My husband and I both share apps, contacts, calendars, etc and use same apple id...We both own iPhone 5's. When we each set up our iphones, on setting in siri setting and mail, contacts, calendars setting we each put contact for our info... Well the problem is that if I change mine to my info it changes it to his, and same if he changes it to his name on his iphone it changes 'my info' on my iPhone's setting.... so when using siri or mail... we cant identify each phone.... So can we still use same apple id and have separate "my info" settings.....

ISync not syncing all contacts to Moto Razr V3i

Hi,
I have a Motorola Razr V3i that I'd like to sync with my Mac address book. I'm running Leopard 10.5.1. I keep the Address Book as the reference for all my contacts. When I connect my Razr to the Mac, I want to replace all the contacts on the phone with the entries in the Address Book. I have set options in iSync to sync all contacts with phone numbers. I am facing two problems with this:
1) During the sync, the application tries to replace data on my Mac with data from the phone. Is there an option that I can set by which the information on the Mac is never overwritten by the information from the phone? I want information to go one way all time - from my Mac to the phone.
2) After the sync, I discovered that not all the contacts had been imported. A few random contacts are not transferred from the Mac to the phone. I thought that this might have something to do with the fact that the phone used to be synced to my earlier install of Tiger. So I did a "master clear" and a "master reset" on the phone. But even after doing that, some of the contacts (different ones this time) were not synced. And due to the problem described in #1, iSync tried to replace all my existing contacts on the Mac with blank information on the phone.
What's the point of iSync if I have to check whether all contacts have been imported, and manually enter the ones left out. I checked for a software update on the phone, but there was none available.
I'd be happy to provide additional information to get this problem fixed.

I am having the same problem with Leopard 10.5.1 Isync and my razor V3 from Cingular. In addition the contacts in my address book are duplicated after syncing with my phone. Basically after using Isync my address book gets doubled and cluttered with names and no phone numbers, the data gets completly screwed up. Whats going on?

AOL Contact in Jabber Client

Has anyone been able to successfully set up an AOL Contact on their Jabber client?
I'm using Jabber 8.6.4 for Mac and whenever I specify my wife's AIM account name and select the checkbox for "This is an AOL account", then click the "Add" button, I get no feedback from the application on whether it failed or succeeded. She reports not receiving an invitation request to her account.
Are AIM and AOL Contacts different things? Is there something else that needs to be setup? Is this feature not working yet in 8.6.4?

The ability to add users who are not AD users is coming in Jabber 9.1. The tentative release date for this is Sept but that is subject to change.

Synching contacts with iCloud problem

Im have set up my macbook pro with contacts and synching them to Icloud, also have my facebookcontacts added to contacts.
Everything looks fine and nice.
Though when im looking in my iPhone it not shown as is is in my computer, i got plenty of double contacts, different sorting aswell, some names are correct and others completely at the wrong place in the sorting,
I thought i would mirror everything to the iOs device?
Any hints how to solve this?

If there's a problam with your ID you might need to contact Apple support for assistance. You might start with iTunes store support: https://ssl.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html. They frequently deal with Apple ID issues (your iCloud ID is also an Apple ID). They should be able to help you reset your security questions and explain any potential issues with your ID that are preventing access to iCloud.

URI dialing changed Outlook contact card

Hello I have provided all the versioning info etc at the bottom of this post.
The issue we are experiences is as follows. Before enabling SIP URI dialing within our Jabber Client the contact details for a User would display the following fields
BusinessPhone = person's AD "telephoneNumber" field and the
Other = persons AD "ipPhone" field
This was accomplished by way of editing the following values in the jabber-config.xml file

could you comment if there is any fix to how jabber itself displays contacts differently after enabling URI dialing. I find the users are confused by seeing a uri form and not selecting it even though it's a valid way to ring an extension. Should be nice to have both the uri and ipPhone listed.

How To Limit iPhone Contacts Sync

I have struggled with this for a while - my wife and I want a single contacts database to keep on top of the moves, new numbers and emails of our friends, family and business contacts. This really means we also need to keep our work contacts in the same place but we don't want to see one anothers.
I was doing what Scott mentioned. Essentially I would use iCloud as a backup / source of all info in the cloud (for example when I needed a contact that I had spring cleaned from my phone). I would occasionally true up what was on my computer and what was in iCloud (essentially a 'Select All' then drag everything from the Mac to iCloud and then in reverse). Then in iTunes I would only tick the Groups I wanted synchronised. I can tell you it was a lot more annoying than it sounds*.
Rander's answer was a Doh! moment for me and I think it's the best answer. Sync everything everywhere then go into Contacts and tap Groups and deselect those you don't want to 'see'.
* Ignore the next bit if you're happy with Randers' answer. I append it for other self helpers who may be able to do something with it...
It's worth noting that at somepoint, iCloud and Mac OS seem to have started playing better. Slowly I seem to be getting more single records of contacts that are both on my Mac and on iCloud. I suspect they were origninally new or appeared new (I've been tinkering with VCF cards to make Contacts treat contacts differently).
Having experimented, where there are two cards with the same details, one on the Mac and one on iCloud, it seems to need a name tweaked in one of them (I added an 'x' to the end), delete the duplicate, drag over the card named-X, then edit it to delete the X. If you don't change the name and simply delete a duplicate then drag again the iCloud ghosts recreate the duplicate.

This may sound stupid! but is the iCal a different calendar to the iCloud Calendar?

My iphone and Mac do not seem to sync properly - although some diary entries do sync, the actual number and names of calendars do not match on each device. Im really confused by it all! Also is Contacts different to Address Book?????? Same problem.

I have had the same problem when I recently bought a new iPhone. With me it helped to completely turning off and on iCloud on both my iPhone and Mac.
You can do this on your Mac by going to settings - internet and wireless - iCloud and then turning off everything you see.
You can do this on your iPhone by going to settings - iCloud and then turning off everything you see.
Afterwards you close both applications and put them back on.

What do i do with a very slow Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements on a PC?

I seem to be getting mixed opinions as to why my Adobe software gets so slow, despite efforts to avoid that, but my computer seems to be working just fine, it is only when in Adobe that the problems arise, like freezing, taking longer and longer periods of time to open the screen to edit a photo, or to compare two photos side by side. Any process seems to take such a long time, and the freezing can last for several minutes, and then continue on. I have had a computer person come to my house and examine my computer and though his knowledge of Photoshop is limited, he feels that it is NOT the computer but something with Adobe Photoshop. I would tend to agree with him.
Several theories have been explained to me, such as Elements and Premiere Elements are a low end of the scale of Photoshop programs, so it is just not going to be able to process high definition large photos well and quickly. Stating comments like i can only use 2 GB of my memory even though i have 8 GB, so unless i can use 64 bit this is what i have to deal with, and it is just a way for Photoshop to say you need to upgrade to the fancier programs. I do not need fancier programs. I am working hard to master these, and have accomplished 4 great blu rays in high definition thanks to recommendations from the Forum here, especially Steve with the help of his books.
Others say i need a solid state hard drive to solve the problem. Others say the only way i will ever solve the problem is to switch to a MAC. Others state is a mal-ware problem, but i have never had my hard drive so clean and uncluttered. I supposedly have as good of PC as i could have as far as QUAD-core, 8GB memory, presently a 1 TB hard drive less than 1/2 full. All suggestions involve big outlays of money, with no guarantee that things will be any better. I have tried to contact different computer companies and computer 'nerds', and these are some of the suggestions, but no one really has a lot of knowledge of the Photoshop software.
I am thinking of adding an additional internal hard drive, but not sure that is going to help either. Could i put all my Photoshop of the second hard drive, and might that speed things up?
Adobe is rather worthless in trying to get help from them. I have spent hours on the phone waiting and then talking to someone who says they understand English but they do NOT understand the question i am asking, which becomes very frustrating with repeat phone calls. I gave up yesterday trying to do that challenging experience yesterday after i had spent 3 times the amount of time they said i would need to wait to get a reply, and i was at work, and my free time had come to an end. So i am hoping you guys can give me some clues of the best thing to do.
Is it true that Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements are just such a lower end program that trying to do things in high definition, with 2000x1500 photos, making them into a blu ray disc is a major challenge with a PC? I wish i had a greater computer knowledge, but i have struggled to achieve my goal, but the speed of it all gets very frustrating, though it is possible.
Another question asked which i don't think exists, is whether there is a program that could clean up Photoshop, or are there some clues that could accomplish that and thereby speed things up.
Would appreciate any suggestions anyone has. I am in the middle of another project so now is probably not the best time to consider any major changes. But any comments would be appreciated.

Premiere Elements 10 is now 64 bit, but not PSE10.
Take a look at your scratch disk set-up and if you have a spare volume, allocate that first before the C drive. Elements use scratch disks when it gets low on RAM.

Turn off face recognition and the auto-analyzer to improve performance.
When editing photos or videos check the task manager to see what background processes may be running and end them temporarily if not needed.

Two iPhones and one iTunes account`

Ok, my scenario. I have a single iTunes account on my Windows pc for both my wife and me. All of our music is on there. I had an iPhone and when I got the new iPhone4, I gave my wife my 3G iPhone. Here's what I want to do:
* Have iTunes treat both phones separately. Meaning different contacts, different apps and different music/photo playlists.
* Is this possible with a single iTunes account?
* Can my wife have different apps installed on her phone than I have on mine and still be able to sync?
* What about a different music playlist?
* For contacts, since we both have a master contact list on the PC, can you chose WHICH contacts from that master list to put on each phone? For instance, she doesn't need my employee's home phone numbers in her contacts on her phone.
I think the iTunes sync feature stinks...wish they gave you more manual control over what is happening on your phone.

My daughter runs her business email through MobileMe. She updated to iCloud and no longer receives mail on her iPhone. We understand that she needs to upgrade to iOS 5.1.1 is this correct?
My daughter's Macbook is broken and is away being assessed (probably unusable). She urgently needs to receive mail etc. (She is a self-employed performer and depends on her mail and has over 1200 tunes). If she updates on my iMac will she lose her iTunes music, photos, contacts and apps?
How do we avoid this?
Do we need to back up her content first? If so, how?
Do we handle contacts differently to the iTunes items?
In short, 1 iMac, 2 iPhones - my iPhone is updated to 5.1.1, can we update my daughter's to 5.1.1 without wiping her content?
We have attempted to update her iOS but the warning message lead us to believe it was not possible without wiping it. We have also read several discussions with conflicting answers.

just taking that one step further..
there are two types of optical toslink surround setups.
1- those that have built in hardware decoding (like my Logitech Z-5500's) which means the speakers recieve that undecoded 5.1 signal from the computer, and the speakers themselves decode it - splitting the signal to 6 channels.
2-non harware decoding speakers, that are 5.1 but have to recieve a decoded signal from an optical toslink connector. note these cannot be used with a mac, as the mac does not output a decoded signal.
an external speaker&amp package has to be used in order to decode the output from the G5 Power Mac/ G5 iMac

Forest / Domain Trust across firewall

Good evening,
we have the following situation:
Forest-A (Domain-A): centralized application for mail archiving, IP range 172.18.20.xxx
Forest-C1 (Domain-C1): Customer 1, IP Range 192.168.1.xxx, PDC 192.168.1.1
Forest-C2 (Domain-C2): Customer 2, IP Range 192.168.1.xxx, PDC 192.168.1.1
Forest-C3 (Domain-C3): Customer 3, IP Range 10.103.3.xxx
For the application in Forest-A (Domain-A) to be working, we need to have a 2-way-trust to each of the customer domains. But the problem is, that the customer subnets do not necessary have different IP ranges, like mentioned above. Therefore I cannot use
VPN connections for this. I could go with static routing, but then I still have the problem, that I have to contact different DCs, which have the same IP.
As NAT is also not an option (not supported, I know), does anyone have any idea how to work around this situation?

With IPv4, as long as NAT is not an option and clients cannot change their IP ranges then I would not see an option, Static routing won't fix the problem too as it will just create others since the same subnets are used in two different locations.
IPv6 is an option in case your clients can go with it.
