Contact Groups are showing as "null"

On my iPhone5 and iPad some of my Contact Groups are showing as "null".  This is new.  It didn't start until yesterday.  iCloud.com does not reflect this.  Everythings seems to be okay there.  What can I do to change this?

I have this same issue.  Whenever I create a group via the iCloud web interface, it shows up named "null" on my iPhone and iPad.
I found a workaround, but it only applies to people who:
- Are using a Windows PC
- Have MS Outlook installed
- Have iCloud control panel installed
- Have iCloud control panel configured to sync contacts with Outlook
In Outlook, open Contacts, then from the ribbon choose "iCloud, Create New Group".
At least for me, this works...  Once created in Outlook, the group quickly syncs and shows up with the correct name on the iCloud web interface, iphone, and ipad.  After that, I can manage membership of the group either through the iCloud web interface or Outlook, and everything works as it should.

  • My outlook 2010 Contact Groups are not visible in iTunes; only syncs main Outlook Contact Folder, others not synching

I have an iPhone (running the latest device software) and have Outlook 2010 for PC on my desktop.  I have several Outlook 2010 Contact Folders/Groups but when I try to sync with my iPhone I only have the option to sync all of my contacts.
When I sync this -- the only Outlook folder/group that is synced is my main 'Contacts' folder/group.  All the rest of my folders/groups are not being transferred to my iPhone.  I've had this issue for a few months now -- and though I like the iPhone, my old Blackberry nev er presented this problem when it came to the simple base function of syncing.  Appreciate your help -- as I am out of answers.  Thanks.

  • Contact Groups not showing up on Iphone when syncing with Mobileme

My contacts show up in my address book on my Iphone but when I go to look at my groups the page is blank and I cannot get back to my contacts without closing and reopening contacts but still no groups. I want my groups to show up. I have at least 4 groups that show up on my me, and syncs fine with ipad....
I THINK THIS IS A ISSUE with the new verizon iphone.
    Please help if anyone has

I am having a similar issue. As is my wife. I also believe that it is a bug in the current iOS on the CDMA iPhone 4.
It is just as you described, and I have to close Contacts completely in order to restore my access to the contacts list. And, like you, our groups show up just fine on our iPads (within minutes of making changes, as we sync over MobileMe).
It doesn't appear to be a letter-case issue, as at least my login is in all lowercase letters.
I sure hope that this is fixed in an iOS update soon! It's rather problematic for those of use who use their iPhones for business purposes.

  • Contact Groups Not Showing In Outlook

As of yesterday morning contact groups disappeared from my Outlook 2010 contacts. Logging into iCloud.com The groups are all there with the right people in them. Is this resulting from an update to iCloud, or is something corrupted in my system?
    Thanks!
    ~Mike

    Hi,
I would like to create two folders - one for me and one for my wife. So under 'My Contacts' in Outlook 2010 it looks like this:
    Suggested contacts
    Contacts
    Suggested contacts (email address)
    Simon's contacts
    Julie's contacts
iTunes has picked up these sub-folders - THANKS!
However, I would like to keep the 'Contacts' folder with all the contacts in and only copy selected contacts from there and place them into my wife's folder and mine. The 'copy' function does not seem to work.
Obviously my contacts are different to my wife's and she does not want hundreds of names on her contact list.
So, basically how do I copy contacts without moving them out of the contacts folder and manually typing them all back in my wife's folder (some contacts we both need)?
Hope you can help on this one.
    Many thanks,
    Simon

  • Certain contact groups are not appearing in iTunes

I am trying to update the contacts on my iPhone, through iTunes, from my iMac.  iTunes is not showing many of the groups that I have in my contacts and when I default to just syncing all of my contacts, it doens't actually synce them all.  How do I fix this?

Have had same problem and read many different posts on the discussion boards. Came to my own sort of hybrid solution that's posted below:
    Backup address book.
Turn off syncing to iPhone within iTunes, and then hit Apply to make sure it takes.
Quit Address Book, iTunes, and basically everything.
Go to Finder > Library > Application Support > Address Book … move all folders out of there EXCEPT the Metadata folder.
Go to Finder > Library > Application Support > Sync Services … move everything out of there.
    Reboot computer.
    Open address book.
Open iTunes, connect iPhone, and sync.
NOTE:  I had to play with these steps, and their order, several times to force iTunes to properly reflect what’s in the address book/contacts, but after about the sixth time it worked.

  • Upgraded to OSX Mountain Lion. "Contacts" groups are a mess.

I upgraded from OSX 10.6.8 to OSX 10.8.4.
I did not think to back Contacts up and and my group email lists in Contacts are, for all intents and purposes, lost. I now have all kinds of information from other card files in the email lists and no way to sort it all out.
Am I screwed? Why would ML do this?
I still have all the original customer emails from which I created these group email lists but I would prefer to not have to cut and paste all of them into a new group as there are hundreds of them. Is there a way to export the addresses in these emails, en masse, into a group list?
    Thanks for any help!
    Jim

  • Google Contacts API 2.0: Add option to select which groups are synced

This has been a requested issue for quite some time now:
*1) Add an option to control what Google Contact groups are synced in ITunes*
Currently, if you sync to Google Contacts, iTunes will pull in EVERY contact from your Google Contact list. That includes those contacts filed under "Suggested Contacts", which lists contacts you email on a frequent basis. The workaround for this is to delete your Suggested contacts every time you sync your iPhone, or risk the issue of having hundreds of new junk contacts in your iPhone.
I understand that there was an issue in the Google API before, the issue being that there was no way to distinguish between which group the contacts were coming from. That issue is now gone, it was corrected in the update of the Google API to 2.0 on December 12th. Now, when syncing, the ability to distinguish which groups the contacts exist in is there. Below is the documentation of those changes:
    http://code.google.com/apis/contacts/docs/2.0/developers_guide.html
With Google's update, the iTunes implementation of syncing Google Contacts can allow the selection of only specific groups to sync.
As said before, this is basic functionality that has been requested by many for a long time (search Google if you don't believe me), and I hope and pray that the wonderful iTunes/iPhone gods will bestow upon us the ability to select Google Contact groups in the near future. Are there any plans to add this functionality? If so, when might we expect an update?

    Hello Blindbug.
I do apologize. But this is a user to user community. And no one here knows when or if certain features or products will be released unless there has already been a public announcement by that company released for everyone to view and read.

  • Three updates from the same Software Update Group showing as unknown, while all the others are showing as expected.

    Hi
I have an issue from Septembers security updates where three updates from the same software update group are showing as unknown status rather than required / not required / installed etc.
There are multiple other updates in the same update group and they are all displaying correctly with the figures I would roughly expect.
I would have expected if something was wrong with the clients not returning software update scans that all the updates in this software update group (all deployed automatically as part of the same ADR) would show the same status of unknown, rather than just
    three of them.
The updates in question are: KB2894842, KB2972215 & KB2977629 (First two .net 4.0 and last one IE11).
Now these updates would largely be not required in our organisation as for the most part we use different versions so I would expect them to show as not required.
Short of kicking off a mass software update scan cycle I don't know a) why this has happened b) if a scan cycle will fix it. Our clients scan every week and its been several weeks since the updates were deployed, that and the other updates have all reported
    back in.
Anyone have any ideas? Its making the compliance results look quite poor :(
    Thanks
    Jonathan

    Hi,
Is there any clue in the logs? Please review WUAHandler.log.
What is the code you get when you run compliance report, like that in the following thread:

    Hi, Ralph.
Actually, the kbase doc on the camera kit does also say:
You may also be able to use some USB audio/MIDI devices with the iPad Camera Connector. To find out if a USB audio/MIDI device is compatible, contact the device manufacturer.
And a lot of supported devices are not working now, by all accounts, including many that were being pushed in the apple gift guide for the online store earlier this week (it's been replaced for today by the black friday page).

EDIT BTW, guys, there's a typo in your feedback links: should be

    not "…ipad/html".

  • How to hide one out of many contact groups?

I have set up more than 10 contact groups on my iPhone 5. One of the groups is 'Inactive' in which I put some seldomly used but not yet want to delete contacts.
When I want to hide the 'inactive' group, I go to the iOS7 Contacts app, tap on 'Groups', tap on 'Hide All Contacts' and tap on 'Show All Contacts' again.
All the contact group are now checked. Then I tap on 'Inactive' group because I suppose it will uncheck the 'Inactive' group only. However, the result is that it just keep 'inactive' checked but unchecked all the other groups. IS THIS A BUG IN IOS 7?
What I need to do is to check other groups one by one. After that, I find the check/uncheck action becomes normal.
I am not sure whether this happen in previous iOS but for iOS7, I can always repeat the bug.

Prior to IOS7, we could manipulate Contacts Groups just as you want. Click All Contacts then click on the group(s) you did not want to be shown. Unfortunately, IOS7 now makes it necessary to click on each and every Group that you do want shown. IOS7 is definitely a two steps backward "upgrade" when it comes to this.
Similarly, prior to IOS7 it was possible to edit (delete) individual "conversations" within a multi-conversation text. Now all you can choose is whether or not to delete the entire text. Another two steps backward part of the IOS7 "upgrade".
Lots of good things about IOS7 too, but these two negatives are features I wish Apple would have left as-is.

  • E51 is lack of "OK" button and groups are missing ...

    Greetings all!
Couple of days ago I've noticed that my phone E51 is lack of "OK" button - to be more precise: when I'm creating new SMS/ MMS message and I'm going to add contact, the cell phone displays all my contacts, I can select one or more persons but can not confirm by OK button (normally placed at left lower corner of the screen) because there is not “OK” letters and linked button doesn’t respond.
See picture below - there is OK button, mine E51 doesn't have that one... ://
Additionally my contact groups are missing and I can not display them - they are gone.
I've reset my phone with the code *#7???# but notching changed. Afterwards I've tried to upload my contacts' backup to my cell phone - and PC suite said there is synchronization problem - but nothing more... “Contact’s can not be synchronized”…
    Does anyone get similar problem?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

That's strange. But then again it seems you may have entered the wrong code if you say nothing happened. Back up your phone except for settings. You may lose data if you do not. The final two methods below would delete user data.
    Try these:
*#7780# - this will restore factory settings. See if the Ok buttons return
*#7370# - do this only if the above code does not work. This wipes the phone memory of settings and all installations, a quick format.
Hold *, green and 3 keys simultaneously while powering up - last ditch effort. If nothing else works. This will return your phone to factory state
If you find my post helpful please click the green star on the left under the avatar. Thanks.

  • Sending mail to a contact group with a numeric name

    Hello!
I have a problem when sending mail to a contact group. The contact group is named "1234", and in Mail the autocompletion of the address is not performed successfully.
However, if I rename the group to "A1234" then it all works. Sounds like a bug to me.
Also, I have 31 people in my contact group. And, when adding the "A1234" group in the To: field - not all in the contact group are added. (And yes, they all have valid email addresses)
This also sounds like a bug to me. Or, am I missing something?
I should also add that when - in the address book - I select the group and "Send email to group", not all people in the group are added either...
    Cheers,
    / Peter

Your email provider limits the number of email addresses you can send to at once, so it's likely you exceeded that limit, thus causing their server to hang. Check with them to find out that limit, then try reducing the number of recipients your sending to in that group to that number or less.

  • Ghost contact group after syncing with Exchange?

There seems to be bugs in syncing iPhone with Exchange. After I connected to an Exchange 2007 account, I have the following groups on the iPhone:
    - All contacts
    - (EmployessList)
    - Contacts
    - WORK
    - PERSONAL
    - TEMP
I do have WORK, PERSONAL, and TEMP folders under my Outlook contacts, so those three groups are not stranger to me. But I don't understand why other two gets there.
And I understand the "Contacts" groups are for those in the root of Outlook Contacts folder, which haven't been sorted into any sub folder.
But the (EmployeeList) group totally comes out from nowhere, I don't have that folder in my Exchange mailbox. When choosing it to view on the iPhone, it is empty. I created a fake name under this group and it never get sync'ed to Exchange.
Where exactly does it come from, and how could I get rid of it?

This issue was resolved when I changed something for another error. I guess the email address has to match "case sensitively" with what you have in Exchange account. As soon as that was corrected, the (EmployeeList) group disappeared after a successful sync.
