Contact has deleted me - but can still see their c...
I have Skype on my iPhone and I am always logged in. This morning when I clicked on Skype icon I could see that this contact had indeed been online as it shows me who has been online just for a second before refreshing.
This contact profile says they are offline, I can still see their picture and I can still see the circle with the x in it.
However in their contact count information it has gone from 13 to 12 since they were online yesterday. I suspect they have deleted/blocked me???
Would this be right although I don't see the question mark in their information
I think there is really no way to know.
1. if they have blocked you, they will indeed appear as offline, but basically you are still in their contact list so their contact count will not be affected.
2. if they have deleted you, the grey icon with a question mark inside will appear opposite their name, plus the notification that they have not shared contact details with you.
3. if they have blocked and deleted you, it will be the same as #2

Screen turns grey but can still see image
Hi all,
I don't really know how to explain this but recently I am getting this grey shading on my screen. I can still see the content if I tried to but it's really hard. At first I just wiggle my screen a bit or give it a tap around the screen then it will return back to normal. But the problem is getting worse and worse. Wiggling and tapping the screen doesn't really do the job anymore. I just got this new screen about a month ago under Apple's warranty. I'm thinking maybe when the technician installed the new screen, he didn't attach something secured enough and it has come lose.
Anyone having similar problem or know what's going on? My warranty just expired 4 days ago.... Hope it's nothing major or I'm spending my own money :/
Oh and I've been reading about snow leopard having screen issue.... not sure if this is related but I did upgrade to snow leopard.
Message was edited by: MacBookProOwnerthis sounds like the same problem i am having. for me, the bottom 1/3 to 1/2 of the screen will fade, like every other pixel is going white. then it will start turning grey. by the end its all dark shades of grey, but streaked vertically to match what's displaying on the upper part of the screen. the whole thing happens in a few seconds. the rest of my screen is fine. does this sound like your problem?
if it helps, i bought the mac in 2007, and had to have the video card (i think) replaced because it had the problem of the screen staying black when opened from sleeping. if anyone has any advice, please let me (us) know. thanks -

Help: Macbook backlight off, but can still see webpage, non-reponsive
Ok. Here we go. I bought a used Macbook for my daughter (her first Mac!).
The Macbook was in great physical shape, in fact it looks almost brand new despite being an older 2.0ghz model. Everything has been going great for the past month, until today.
The first issue came when I went and tried to wake the Macbook up from sleep. When I opened the lid, the display was on and all of my pages etc. were still open. However, it was unresponsive to any sort of input. Eventually I had to just force it power down and then restart it.
The second issue (same day), my wife went to use the computer, but discovered that the backlight was off. We could still make out the items being displayed on the screen, but again it was unresponsive. Normally, if the computer is on and the display isn't working, you can usually at least get the capslock button to light up or here the tick sound when you push the volume keys.
I am a bit concerned about this because it is the second time today that the Macbook has become unresponsive. This time when I rebooted it (after forcing it off), the fan came on for about 2 minutes. Then I ran the disk utility, but got nothing abnormal.
The Macbook is way out of warranty, which is why I turned to the discussions forum. Any help of advice would be appreciated!

I recently downloaded the 5.1.1 and all of a sudden the contact icon has disappeared. I can still access my contact list through the phone icon, but I want the contact icon back. How can I reinstall it?
You can't delete it. Look on all your screens and inside all your folders. If you still can't find it go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout. This will restore the home screen to its original configuration but may move other apps around to do so.

After updating my OS, I couldn't get onto my gamecenter account. I created a new nickname to see what would happen. Now I can only access my new nickname, but not my old one. However, my old account has all my scores! I want to delete the new nickname and re-access my old (i.e., original) nickname. Interestingly, my friends can still see my old nickname.

Greetings, I am working in Final Cut Pro 7. In the timeline some clips show as offline. I tried going to sequence and reconnecting to media but it does not work. I can still see the video in the timeline and work with it. It just has the red box. Thanks! Olga
If the clips are not actually missing, you could try to refresh the timeline by using cmd-0 and then going to the timeline options tab. Then select name only where it says "thumbnail display". Press ok to accept the change, then repeat the process to add thumbnails back to your timeline.

Downloaded Mt Lion Yesterday and my Tool bar has disappeared. I can still access the individual tools but cannot see my header. I used 'help' and did what it suggested. slected 'hide tool bar' and then 'show toolbar'. I also restarted etc.
Good point BDAqua, the Escape key helps get me back to reality in Lion.
While I've only dabbled around a little in Lion since it's release (I upgraded a 10.6 Clone to Lion on one of my FireWire Drives) now I'm currently downloading Mountain Lion (to upgrade a Clone of that Lion Clone) so that now I can continue to move forward in madness.
P.S. Trust me, I'm not laughing. -
My iPhone 4s was stolen almost a week ago now. If I can still see the phone listed in Find My iPhone but appears to be turned off does this mean the theif has not restored it to factory settings???
Are you sure? I have other devices at home. The only way I can make them disappear on the tracking list is by turning off location or resetting to factory settings.
I just want to make sure I'm not tracking a phantom that I will never recover :-( -

To reinstall iCal:
1. Insert the Snow Leopard Installation disk into the computer.
2. The disk will appear on the desktop.
3. Double click on the "Optional Installs" folder.
4. Double click on the "Optional Installs.mpkg."

6. Click on (Continue) in Software License Agreement.
7. Click on (Agree) to agree to the terms of the software license agreement.
8. Click on the disclosure arrow ▶ next to Applications.
9. Select (✓) iCal.
10. Click (Continue).
11. After iCal has been reinstalled, download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to bring iCal up to the most recent version. -

for the photos: make sure you reboot the device so that the changes are taken into consideration.
For emails: log out of your email account, make sure the emails from that account have been deleted, then log back in, and go to the mall app, but open only the inbox. as long as you don't open your email folders, the phone won't download them. -
I am trying to delete pages I have crated in numbers, but can only see them in print preview. Without print preview I do not see them. How can I delete these pages, but keep others before and after?

Numbers doesn't have pages. It has a canvas that holds objects such as tables and charts.
Drag the objects from the bottom of the canvas onto the white space above. That will reduce the number of "pages" (sheets of paper) that will print.
