Contact import to Galaxy S6

I need to import contacts saved on Kies (on a laptop) from a Galaxy S2 in .spb format to a Galaxy S6.  Kies does not recognize the S6 so I upgraded to Kies 3, which cannot find the contacts file on my computer.  Any suggestions?

Unfortunately I don't have the S2 anymore (trade in).  The salesperson did a back-up from the S2 to the S6 but those contacts and all the pictures didn't transfer.  Fortunately, I had recently done a back-up on Kies so I have the stuff on my laptop.  But I don't know how to get the info from the laptop to the S6.

    If the Galaxy allows importing from vCards files....
    You can export your contacts - go to the Contacts page at icloud.com (use computer's browser), click the top contact to select it then shift-click the bottom one to select all. Click the cogwheel icon at bottom left and choose 'Export vCard'.

  • Nokia 808 - Contact import

    I am trying to transfer all my contacts from Galaxy S to Nokia 808 but it seems to be like the Mars Mission! I have all my contacts synced with my Google account and Windows Live account and I have all the contacts in .vcf and .csv format. How can I get them into my Nokia 808. I tried the "Import contacts" option in PC Suite but it just does not do anything. It acts as though I never asked it to import. So that isnt working. I am using the latest PC Suite which i downloaded from the Nokia website. Please help with a quick solution! Thanks.

    I don't know for Windows XP, but assuming you are on Windows Vista or Windows 7, you should succeed if you have the .csv file (or probably even .vcf files) at hand.
    Go to [your username home directory] -> Contacts
    On the folder toolbar there should be an "Import" button that can open a list of filename types.
    If the import of the .csv file (or else) succeed well and the contacts folder becomes populated with individual contacts files, open Nokia Suite and sync all contacts between Windows Contacts <-> Nokia Suite <-> your Nokia device.
    Each contact file in Windows Contacts can have an image associated, which will also sync between devices. If present, it is best to keep such image somewhat small in size (I keep them 95x95 pixels, which is the optimum resolution of a Windows contact xml file), else the transfer will be long, especially if the sync with the device is over bluetooth.

  • How do I copy contacts from samsung galaxy tablet to my new ipad mini

    I have just bought the new Apple Ipad mini, and I want to transfer all my contacts from my samsung galaxy tab to the new ipad.  Could you please explain how I can do this, as there is nothing in the instructions.
    thanking you in anticipation

    I don't think you can do it directly. You need to get them from your galaxy to a third device then to your iPad. Depending on how many contacts you have you can mail them from your galaxy, open that mail on your iPad and save it from there.
    You can export them from your galaxy to a comptuer then get that file into your iPad (I don't have a galaxy so i'm unfamiliar with how you get them off the galaxy)

  • Backing up Contacts from Samsung Galaxy S4 to Macbook Pro Retina

    Hi,
    I'm going to change samsung phones and I need to back up my contacts. I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 and a Macbook Pro Retina, Late 2013, with Mavericks. When I try to back up the contacts through bluetooth the phones pair up but connection is can never be established. I can't even browse the device. So I downloaded Android File Transfer and I can back up pictures, documents, and music, but I don't see where to back up contacts so i can upload them to the next samsung I will have.
    Please Let me know. Thanks

    Dunno if you helps you, but you do need some sort of Android File transfer application. go to www.android.com/filetransfer to get that tool/ You may also need Samsung Kies. (www.samsung.com/us/kies) which should get you somewheres. I don't know if you can use Bluetooth on your MacBook to do that kind of thing. I think it's for mice, keyboards, maybe headphones, but file transfer? not too sure about that. I used to have this old flip phone that used to work with Bluetooth, but that was a long time ago and doesn't really apply here.  Oh, and you know this forum is for Mac Pro's (the desktop Mac), right?

  • Gmail Contacts Import Refuses My .CSV File

    I have created a file in Numbers of contacts for gmail.
    I have exported it as a .csv file
    and I selected Western Mac OS Roman
    (When this failed I tried Unicode and Windows Latin1)
    Both of those failed to be accepted by gmail too.
    Each time I try and import this file into gmail
    to the Contacts section it says...
    Sorry we cannot recognize the file format.
    When I made my .csv file...
    I started with a pile of email addresses with names.
    I made sure that each line in the document read:
    name(,) last name(,) <email address> (I hit return here)
    Can somebody please tell me what I am doing wrong???
    thanks.

    Which is the decimal separator in your system.
    If it is the comma, Numbers will not use the comma as values separator but semi-colons.
    This may explain your problem.

  • No picture on contacts imported from Hotmail in iPhone 5

    Hello
    I'm new owner of iPhone 5 and I love it, but althought i have some question, basically my question now is, why the picture of my contacts from Hotmail are not imported?
    I can see that the contacts are sync'ed both way so i like that, BUT some extra information is not imported like the Picture and if I "LINK" 2 contacts in my Hotmail (llike contact + skype + facebok) the extra infromation is not imported either.
    Anyone has any idea how to import at least the pictures?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Try turning the music off in the slideshow (Select: Music icon in bottom right of window, unselect play music during slideshow).
    Export the slideshow again (sorry)
    Add your play list for the slide show to your ipod.
    Add new slide show to your ipod
    On ipod go to: Photos:Slideshow settings: Music: select your playlist from the list.
    The music should play when you statr your slideshow.
    Hope this helps!

  • AOL Contacts Import procedure

    AOL Contacts can only be exported via AOL web mail. Sign in via Firefox, go to 'Contacts', sel (check) all desired entries, Tools, Export, select .CSV, Export. Clean up entries in Excel if desired. Import into Thunderbird.
    Now if I could only get my local email folders/subfolder from the AOL Windows application to import to Thunderbird I'd be all set!

  • Bulk API issue with contact imports

    Is the bulk API having validation issues? I can update any existing or create any new imports.
    Simply posting the content below from the tutorial now results in a validation error:
    "name": "Docs Import Example",
    "fields": {
    "firstName": "{{Contact.Field(C_FirstName)}}",
    "lastName": "{{Contact.Field(C_LastName)}}",
    "emailAddress": "{{Contact.Field(C_EmailAddress)}}"
    "identifierFieldName": "emailAddress",
    "isSyncTriggeredOnImport" : "false"
    Here is the error:
    "failures":[{"field":"identifierFieldName","constraint":"Must be a string value, at least 1 character and at most 100 characters long."},{"field":"name","constraint":"Must be a string value, at least 1 character and at most 100 characters long."},{"field":"fields","constraint":"Is required."}]}

    Seems like an issue with UD_ADUSER_LOCKED field value. Change it to non null value and retry.

  • Contact import to "mail" stops to work

    "Mail" has a direct link button to my mac "contacts", and for many years I have used this button to import email adresses into a new message.
    Suddenly this import is not possible.
    My contact window pops up as usual, but if I double click a contact or move it with my mouse it does not show up in my "To:" or "CC:".
    Can anybody help?

    Alec, I understand the need to keep the previous emails but why import it into mail and then something else? I'm missing something. What client is he currently using? And couldn't he download and export it from his computer? I know you said he wasn't too computer savvy but is this a case of mail being what your savvy in? In any case, besides the fact that he doesn't want to lose 5 years of mail, does he have any need to be able to search these archives in the future? What are his expected uses for these mail messages. Will want to search them in the future? Dropping the emails into a database would make this easy.
    I haven't looked into the export options in a long while but I'm sure there are options. If you can give us some more details we can provide some more detailed options.

  • Contact import

    The AT&T store sold me a "DataTraveler" to export/import my old cell phone contacts to my new iPhone. I was told that all I needed to do was download the "Traveler" and then Ipod would synch it with my iPhone. I have tried every trick I know to do so, and to no avail. Can anyone tell me the steps I need to follow to do this? I was told there is a contact tab somewhere in Ipod, but I have yet to find it. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

    From the AT&T support site..
    "Migrate contacts using tools available at your local AT&T store. If you have visited an AT&T store and saved your contacts & phone numbers to a USB flash drive, follow these steps to upload them into Outlook or Outlook Express, then synchronize to iTunes and iPhone.
    NOTE: If you need assistance with any of the steps below, please contact the appropriate group:
    For contacts stored on the USB drive, please contact an AT&T store.
    For computer related support, please contact your computer manufacturer, your internal IT department, or Microsoft.
    For support with iTunes or iPhone, please contact Apple.
    PART I
    Insert USB drive into USB port on your PC.
    Save the .pbb file to a convenient location on your PC. (This file contains your contacts.)
    Download Content Manager.
    When prompted, select Save to save "ContentManager_latest.zip" to a convenient location on your PC.
    Right click on ContentManager_latest.zip file to extract the file to your PC.
    Once extracted, open the Content Manager program.
    Follow the on-screen steps to download and save Content Manager to your PC.
    NOTE: You may be prompted to download the latest version of Microsoft .NET 2.0. To do so, click here.
    Once installed, open Content Manager.
    Select Contacts > Open Phonebook.
    Select .pbb file that you just saved to your PC.
    Select Contacts > Export > select either Outlook or Outlook Express.
    PART II
    Open iTunes on your PC.
    To synchronize your contacts with iTunes, connect iPhone to your PC.
    When the iPhone icon appears in iTunes, select it.
    Click the Info tab on the right.
    Select the Contacts and Calendar check buttons and then choose Sync.
    Your contacts will now be accessible via your iPhone."

  • Contact Import Limit on Outlook Web App?

    Hi there,
    Just quickly, can you confirm if there is a maximum number of contacts I can import into Outlook Web App (Office 365)? I have 7000 clients. Also is there an export function or do I have to first sync with Outlook 2007 on my PC then export from there.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    You can find some useful information from this article:
    Import contacts using Outlook Web App
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-in/outlook-help/import-contacts-using-outlook-web-app-HA102908325.aspx
    As for the maximum number, I haven't found that. But as mentioned in the article, "If you try to import too many contacts, you'll see an error message. Use a program such as Excel to open the .csv file and break it into smaller files, and then import each
    file separately."
    We cannot export contacts from owa. As a workaround, we may select the contacts and right click on them, choose Forward as Attachment, send the contacts to another email address you have.

    Try to clear all Temporary Internet files:
    Open Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Internet Options -> General. In the section “Browsing history” press the “Settings” button and in the next window the “View files” button. Delete all files from the Temporary Internet Files folder.
    Also, in Internet Explorer go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN settings. Make sure that the only option selected is “Automatically detect settings”.
