Contact List Import from Back Up Data

Wonder if someone can assist please. I have backed up data via Desk Top Manager for a Curve 8520 which has recently been stolen. I would like to import only the Contact List contained in that back up data from the stolen device to a new Curve 8520. However I do not see any method to do that other than to "Import Files" to the new Curve from the backup data via Desk Top Manager from PC. Is that possible or is that not the mechanism to accomplish this??

Open Desktop Manager > Restore > choose the desired file where the backup is located. Then click on selective restore button > choose AddressBook All and click restore.

I recently lost my iphone 4 and have an iphone3 on loan until I get upgrade in Aug.  I want to sync my data - contacts most important  - from my itunes account...is this possible?  Is it possible to change the user ID on the borrowed phone to my ID?

There are no contacts in itunes.
Your contact should be on your computer in whatever program you have selected to sync.  Just sync them to the new one.
Click Support at the top of this page, then click manuals
Changing the itunes account on nthe iphone is covered there as is restoring the iphone as new or from backup.

  • Overnight my contact list went from 1492 contacts to 52.. With help from Apple support I retrieved all of my contacts.  Here is the problem, I lost the groups.  None of my contacts are sorted into groups as they used to be which is very important for me.

Overnight my contact list went from 1492 to 52.  With help from Apple I retrieved the missing contacts using Time Machine.  The problems is that the contacts are not in groups as they used to be.  Any suggestions?  I really need them grouped for business reasons.
Also, there are no longer pictures associated with each contact.
thanks for any help anyone can give me getting contacts back into the groups that I had established.  By the way, the group names are still there, but they are all empty.
    thanks,

What Mac do you have, with what version of OS X?

  • Can I print my iphone 4 contacts list which is backed up on my Mac desktop?

Can I print my iphone 4 contacts list which is backed up on my Mac desktop?

You'll first have to use third-party software to extract your contacts from your iPhone backup:

Are your contacts not in a supported contact application on your Mac?

  • Address book : provide contact list import/export from other software

There should be an easy way to import contact information from Gmail accounts, Hotmail, and so forth. They're providing efficient ways to export their database, so it shouldn't be too hard for developers to add this usual feature.
I would agree that the contact export/import procedures usually offered are not user-friendly. But it's not user-friendly either to recreate a contact list of 200+ contacts manually.
I hope this feature will be added in a near future. Thanks. Rodan

Thanks, I'll definitely use this bugreporter in the future.
Concerning this case, I've just found this feature is already implemented.
Address Book > File > Import
Strange I couldn't find any documentation about it online. Well, here it si now, I hope people will see it. Bug closed anyway. :-)

  • Is there any way to download my Mac Mail Contact list (Addressbook)from Snow Leopard to an iPad, or iPhone?

I have an Intel iMac Model 8,1 Running Snow Leopard (10.6.8), and a 4th Gen iPad. Is there any way that I can import my Mac Addressbook from my iMac to the iPad so that I don't have to manually enter over 1,100 names and email addresses?
My installed iTunes (v11.0.3) function for synchronizing the two units tells me that Contacts are sync'ed only via iCLoud, which, or course is only available with OS 7.0 and above. I cannot uppgrade my iMac above Snow Leopard without losing application compatibility on both a major contact database program, and an engineering drawing software program, with thousands of manhours and dollars worth of valuable files, that have been generated over many years past, neither software applications of which are supported by OS 10.7 and above.
I cannot believe that Apple would be so blindsighted to this type of issue and there must be some work-around.

Worked like a charm and resolved my problem totally. The only issue I had is that, unlike the Computer (Mac OS). the iPad doesn't give constant visibility to what it is doing (feedback), so I wasn't initially sure it had done anything.
When I opened my emailed message with .vcf file attached, and tapped the .vcf attachment icon, I saw activity on the icon for just a few seconds, then it reverted to the original with nothing apparently happening. After about 30 seconds, the secondary menut popped up indicating the transfer of 1200 addresses would be completed, if I approved the action. Another 10 to 15 seconds then transpired before the completed Contact list appeared on the ipad. So you must be patient, if you have a large Addressbook. That's reasonable, but unexpected lack of feedback left me wondering, like so many other things on the iPad.
THank you for the assist. Apparently Apples Mac Genius people did not know this procedure, and I will pass it on to my local Apple Store Instructor.

  • Contact list download from a Treo 700

can the contact list from the treo 700 be downloaded directly to the iphone??

    Absolutely not.
You must synchronize your Treo contact records using a product like iSync—or, transfer your Treo contact records into the Address Book as vCards—then synchronize the iPhone using iTunes via USB to transfer them from the Address Book to the iPhone.

  • Shot on XL2, importing from GL2, no data

I shot some footage on a rented canon XL2. Returned that camera then came home and put the tape in my canon GL2 to import in to FCP X. The camera is recognized by FCP, the import window manipulates the camera vcr deck, but no data shows up. Does anyone know why? I tried a different tape, one that was shot on the GL2 and it imports fine. Why can't I import from the XL2 recorded tape?

Try the command below and see if the table scripts are generated in test.sql:
    impdp system/pwd dumpfile=dbdump.dmp sqlfile=test.sql
(nothing will be written to the database, only to file)

  • I had to restore my Iphone 3GS yesterday, but my contact list is not up to date.  Can I find the backup on my pc and just restore the contacts?

    Hello,
My nephew got my phone yest and was watching you tube videos.  When I got it back, he had somehow gotten it onto voice control.  I was able to get it
off of Voice Control, but then my Icons all had a square around them and it was necessary for my to double click anything I wanted to get into.
I called the support and was advised that I would need to do the current update and  back up my phone.  Well of course I could not restore the backup I made, but I
wanted to restore the backup prior to this.  Number one I can't find it.  Number two, If I find it, I cant find the contact.  Anyone elese ever had this to happen?
    KathyfromSouth Point

iTunes only keeps one backup, every new backup replaces the old one, only backups used to restore from are not overwritten and marked with a time stamp.
If you can't find any other backup in iTunes/Edit/Preferences/Devices, your contact info's are gone. Only if you included the backup folder in your computer backup routine, you would be able to restore the old backup folder containing the latest backup at that time.
The location of the backup folder is described in this article: iPhone and iPod touch: About backups

  • Importing from Excel as data source

    Hi,
I developed rpd using Excel as a data source, rpd is consistent & i'm able to view the datas correctly in rpd.
But in Presentation Services it was throwing me an error when im combining columns from two different tables.
    SELECT TransLog.Device_ATM_POS saw_0, RespCodes.R_C_NAME saw_1 FROM JPMC ORDER BY saw_0, saw_1
State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 16001] ODBC error state: S1000 code: -3079 message: [Microsoft][ODBC Excel Driver] Type mismatch in expression.. [nQSError: 16002] Cannot obtain number of columns for the query result. (HY000)
Also my Date Format while viewing data is (e.x: 28-OCT-08); In presentation services, the error is,
SELECT TransLog.TRL_DATE_LOCAL_TXN saw_0 FROM JPMC ORDER BY saw_0
State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 46046] Datetime value 01-OCT-09 does not match the specified format. (HY000)
Please guide me to solve this issue.
    Thanks in advance,
    Princy

Your first problem comes from the ODBC driver.
The driver see the data in the columns of your join has two different data type. Check here:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/141284
For the second error, your date string must follow the format in the nqsconfig.ini.
    DATE_TIME_DISPLAY_FORMAT = "yyyy/mm/dd hh:mi:ss" ;
    DATE_DISPLAY_FORMAT = "yyyy/mm/dd" ;
TIME_DISPLAY_FORMAT = "hh:mi:ss" ;I assume that with ODBC you get a DATETIME by default.
Then the data (the content and not the excel format) that you must
have in your excel sheet is "yyyy/mm/dd hh:mi:ss".
You can try to change it with a DATE data type in the physical layer of OBIEE and to have a string value of this format "yyyy/mm/dd".
    Success

  • Problems opening and using Contacts files imported from PC.

I'm new to iPad and IOS.
Transferred my Contacts files from my PC which has now gone the way of all flesh.
Can pick up my individual email addresses for emails but cannot see my address groups (used for group emailing).
I can see the .contact and .group files on Knowhow but the Pad tells me I can't open those files.
How can I open the files, and why do the groups not show up when I 'm trying to select an email address.
Am I just being dumb or do I need to download different app ?
    Grateful for any help. Thanks

  • How do I send emails to a group in my contact list? from my iPad

How do I send an email to a group on my iPad?

There's a functional workaround to send Group emails that takes some setup, and a copy-paste. But it's easier than any one-by-one solution cooked up without a 3rd-party app. Here's the way:
    STEP ONE:
    Go to Settings>General>Keyboard-->Shortcuts
Add a new Shortcut by typing in the full email addresses in the "Phrase" field, separated by comma and space; type in the few letters representing this "Phrase" in the "Shortcut" field.
    STEP TWO:
In the email app, IN THE BODY OF THE EMAIL, type in the letters for the Shortcut and space. Then Highlight-->Copy this text and paste it into the To: Field. (Obviously: Delete this text in email body; and use CC: or BCC: fields as desired.)
Regrettably, you CANNOT just type the Shortcut in the address fields as it gets lobbed into one address.
This "No Group Email Functionality" rates a #FAIL by Apple. One of the few.

  • HT1451 restore iphone data from back up hard drive

I lost my iphone 4 and leptop  with itunes programm. All I had left is back up of my leptop hard drive. Now I have new leptop and new iPhone 5, can I import telephone contacts and music from back up hard drive, they should be there somewhare?

If you had a backup in the backup of the old computer you will want to restore the computer backup to the new computer and then make sure that the newest iTunes is installed. Then you should be able to use iTunes to restore your backup.
    Hope this helps!

  • Data Import from Excel - Users Logged on

    Hello all,
I am new the forums and am learning SAP from a user and administrator perspective so please excuse if some of my questions seem obvious.  I appreciate everyone's help very help
I have the task of setting up two new company profiles in addition to our current one.
I am at the stage of importing Item Master and Business Partner data.
    1) What is the preferred method?  DTW vs. Import from Excel?  Is one more suitable then the other for this purpose?
    2) The help file for importing via excel states "If SAP Business One is running on a network, you have ensured that other users will be logged off the system during the import."  Could someone please explain:
    - What are the risks of running DTW or imports while users are logged in?
    - If users are logged into the live version of our company but I am testing DTW/excel imports from a TEST copy of that company are there still risks or is this okay?
    - If users are logged into one database but I am performing data imports on a different company database (for example I would be the only one logged into the companies currently being set up - is this okay even though users are logged into SAP server but accessing a different company?)
    Thanks very much!
    Richard

    Hi Kiwi,
Referring to the Rules of enagement you have to post one thread per question. Please adhere to the rules from your next post.
DTW is the very much Preferred method you have simulation to see if you record are find to be imported before importing to the DB, using DTW Import from Excel will only help importing  BP and Item master data. If you have to make any updates then it will be a task again. In DTW you can save the template and keep adding data and changes can be updated from the template and re-imported
Please refer to the link below to "Differences between the Import From Excel and Data Transfer Workbench templates" the screen shots for DTW are from version before 2007A SP01 PL09.
    1. When users are logged on It can cause some inconsistency, ensure no user is logged on the live DB before performing any major DTW import
    2. It will be ok if you are Test importing data to test DB on the same SQL server.
