Contact list organization

I have spent two entire days trying to figure out if this Driod X is capable of contact organizaion setting changes. All i want to do is sort contacts by last name instead of first name. Could someone provide me with instructions how to do this?

    We are noticing some inconsistencies in regards to what’s being displayed in our Lync Contacts. When diving deeper into this, we noticed some users have modified "Full Name" field in Outlook contacts to names which they please then it replicates
    onto Lync.
    We would like to standardize our Lync contact list using lastname, firstname format but the only options right now I am aware of doing this is making sure users don't have local contacts saved in their Outlook which we have gone ahead
    and globally disabled feature "Save my Lync contacts in my personal contacts folder on the Exchange server" to ensure up-to-date contact details are collected from the GAL.
    Is there anything else the group can recommend, as its creating a bit of a nuisance with non-technical users?

    You can run the following command to prevent Lync searches the contact information from Outlook Contact folders.
    Set-CsClientPolicy -Identy Global -ExcludedContactFolders "Contact;Contacts;Suggested Contacts,IPM.Contact"

    Hello, and thank you in advance for helping me solve my problem--
    I am a freelance writer in need of a better way of organizing my contact lists. I currently have two major lists to manage.
    The first is a simple list of business, medical, and educational contacts I use regularly in my research and writing.
    The second is a list of business people that need to be contacted in a nine month rotation to be featured in a publication I write for. I would like the software to help me keep track of whose turn it is to be featured, as well as their contact information.
    While I could probably use AppleWorks for this function, I have found this program to be PAINFULLY slow. I also have Microsoft Entourage, but I don't want to mingle these lists together, or with my address book in Entourage.
    And, naturally, I don't want to spend a fortune.
    Thoughts?

    If Entourage will do what you want, just set up another account on your iBook (System Preferences>Accounts) just for your writing and use your existing account (and Entourage) for personal use. The Microsoft User Accounts will be completely seperate.

  • Problem adding contacts to the contact list in PSE7

    I am running PSE 7 with Windows 7. I had a similar problem last February http://forums.adobe.com/thread/581476?tstart=0 trying to update the contact list. The only difference last year is a different PC and I was running XP.
    I am running into the same problem today. In summary I could enter contacts manually or import via Outlook but once I closed the contact list and reopened nothing was updated. I followed all the instructions in John Ellis’s response http://forums.adobe.com/message/2583020#2583020 but it is not working this time. I am not logged into photoshop.com. I saw a link where this fixed someone else who was having a similar problem.
    I have my preferences set to Microsoft Outlook. I am using Outlook 2003.
    Does anyone have an idea what I should try next.

    Yesterday I posted this thread. After I convinced my self that I was properly following the directions given by John Ellis I needed to start elsewhere to resolve the problem.
    What I did was found my contacts.xml file and moved it to my documents folder. I then went back to the organizer and attempted to load the additional contacts expecting the contacts folder to be empty. It was not. I loaded the new contacts using the vcard/desktop method per John’s thread. Now everything is updating and an updated contact folder is in the original location.
    Can anyone explain how the new contact folder acquired all the original contacts?

  • No contacts in Lync 2013 client and not appearing in others contact lists

    Hello all,
    I hope someone might be able to help out with this problem, I've been at it for weeks with no luck. I've migrated from Lync 2010 to 2013. All users have been successfully migrated and everything is working for them, except for one user (which i me unfortunately).
    When I sign into Lync from any device (desktop, laptop, windows phone, iphone) I do not see any contacts in my organization, but I can find any of the contacts if i search for them. I also don't appear in anyone else's contact list, but they can find me if
    they search. 
    I have tried disabling and removing my account from Lync server, uninstalling and reinstalling the Lync client on my machine, cleaning up all the Lync folders and registry keys on my machine. Nothing seems to get me any closer to getting this fixed. 
    I did find a discussion
    here that is exactly the problem I'm having, but I don'e see a solution there either.
    Has anyone else seen this before? Any suggestions or ideas would be very appreciated.

    I am afraid your Lync account lose the user data contact list when you move user from Lync Server 2010 to Lync Server 2013.
    Please try to move the user back to Lync server 2010 to check if the contact list is stored.
    You can use the tool DBIMPEXP.exe to back up specific user’ data from Lync Server 2010 and import the data to Lync Server 2013 with the command Import-CSUserData which is introduced in Lync Server 2013.
    Before you import the data, you need to use the command Convert-CSUserData to convert exported user data to the data format used by Microsoft Lync Server 2013.

  • How to add company name to show up in contact list with person's name on Droid

    I just switched from the Blackberry Storm to the Motorola Droid.  Is there a way to have the company name show up in the contact list under the person's name.  I need that for work.  It syncs up with a program called Act by Sage and my storm used to show both.

    You can edit your contacts, and list the company name under the organization section. However, it will not show up when they call you. You will only be able to see it in your contact list. Hope this helps!

    I use Windows 7 and have installed PSE 8.0. I am also using Windows Live Mail for e-mail. When trying to share photos, PSE has worked until yesterday.     If the device can synchronize to a Desktop Organizer (e.g., Outlook), then you should get your BB now synchronizing to the organizer so that your data will be there, ready to use on your new device:

    If your new device can't handle synchronization but can import a file (e.g., CSV), then export your data from your BB to that file, and then massage it (with Excel, e.g.) so that it meets whatever requirements there are for your new device, and then import that.

    Although you could manually add each recipient to your outgoing email, if you send regularly to the same group the easiest thing to do is create groups in Contacts (app) then address to that group.
    Contacts (Mavericks): Group contacts
    Use groups and folders (for Exchange accounts) to organize your contacts by categories, or to easily send email to several people at once.
    If you want a group that adds or deletes contacts automatically based on rules you define, create a Smart Group.
    Use Smart Groups
    If a contact has multiple email addresses, you can choose which address to use when sending mail to the groups the contact belongs to.
    Select addresses for group members
    Create a group or folder
    Select an account.
    Click Add (+), then choose New Group. You can also select contacts, then choose File > New Group From Selection.
    Create subgroups or subfolders by dragging a group or folder to another group or folder.
    Add contacts to a group or folder
    Select one or more contacts and drag them to a group or folder.
    Contacts in an Exchange account can belong to only one folder at a time. Any contacts not in a created folder are in the default Exchange Contacts folder.
    See groups and folders a contact belongs to
    Select the contact, then press the Option key.
    The groups and folders containing the contact are highlighted.

  • How do I change contact list so it is NOT organized by COMPANY name?

    When moving to the 2.0 code on my old iPhone, I incorrectly told the system to organize my contacts by company name and not by the person's name. I cannot figure out how to change my contact list back to be organized by people's name. This is very frustrating because it affects caller ID, call history lists, etc.

    If you have a mac you launch contacts, highlight the ones you wish to change and select "This is a company" to cycle back and forth. With a non mac you may have to do it within the .me environment.

  • Skype Contact List question

    Quick question...Can anyone tell me why my skype contact list doesn't have the magnifying glass and alphabet listed on the right side of the screen as the phone's internal contact list does? My wife has the exact same iPhone 4, with the same version of skype on it and her skype contact list has the alphabet bar.
    I think it has something to do with my skype account because when I log in with her account on my phone, the alphabet bar show up. Likewise, when I log into my account on her phone, the alphabet bar disappears. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

    How can I change a picture to an entire group of people in my contact list not doing it one-by-one?
    I have people listed by organization, and inserted a logo saved image. If company logo changes, then I have to go trough each one changing the picture, which is not what I wanted to do.

    I have Photoshop Elements 10. I am trying to add contacts for the purpose of emailing photos. When I go to Organizer then Edit a dropdown list pops up with a contact list. I click on the contact list and a Sign in page comes up. When I sign in the entire screen freezes up and I have to shut the computer down to get out of that screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
