Contact List Question

Hi,
If I recall correctly, prior to the recent update my contact list was arranged by last name or first name. After the update, it was arranged differently (visually speaking). The contact list was seperated alphabetically instead of all the names just being in order down the screen.
Well, my phone is not showing usage stats so I restored it last night and now the contact list is back to the same plain list. I prefer the names being physically grouped by alpha.
Is this a setting somewhere that I have over looked? I'd like to change it back.

edited to add: The contact list looked just like the Artist or Song list in the ipod section.

Actually Damon, I found the answer on my own, lol. Apparently, the way one's contact list is displayed depends on the number of contacts you have on your iPhone. When I restored my phone last night and didn't sync my contacts, I had less than 20, giving me the boring looking list of names. Once I added contacts back and went over 20 total, it changed to the "ipod-like" list I was describing.
So...
under 20 contacts= plain jane list
20 or more contacts= much nicer, alpha sorted list

Skype Contact List question

Quick question...Can anyone tell me why my skype contact list doesn't have the magnifying glass and alphabet listed on the right side of the screen as the phone's internal contact list does? My wife has the exact same iPhone 4, with the same version of skype on it and her skype contact list has the alphabet bar.
I think it has something to do with my skype account because when I log in with her account on my phone, the alphabet bar show up. Likewise, when I log into my account on her phone, the alphabet bar disappears. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Contact list question please?

Sharing an iCloud account with my wife how do I establish a unique contact list for my iPhone6 ?

If you each want to have independent contact lists then you will want to go into the iCloud options on each of your devices and turn off the Contacts option. If you want to have a shared contact list and a separate one then I'm not sure you you would go about that or if it's even possible (at least through iCloud).

You can sync the iPod's Contacts app with some other contact programs/mail accounts.

I will say that you will not be able to transfer any purchases to a different Apple ID, but you can rename the Apple ID. Question about Outlook 2010 and Contact list

Good afternoon all, OK so I have been trying to research this problem but I don't know if it can be done. In Outlook 2010 we created a contact list that we use to fax and email referring physicians. In Outlook when you click on a contact in that list and add it to the "To" line it come up with the persons name of the contact I picked, but what if I wanted to fax that contact and needing just the fax number that in that contact card to only come up. Is there a setting that allows me to change what info I want to be seenin the"TO" line of the email?To give a bit more info: Our company just purchased the GFI FaxMaker software that allows us to fax from our PC.We purchased it because it integrated with MS Outlook. What wasn't told to us wasthat we had to add "@faxmaker.com"at the end of the fax number. So hence my problem with outlook....

Hi everyone. New IPad 2 for christmas. Synced via my computer using iTunes. Question about contacts. My contact list only copied to my iPad contacts with email addresses only. The contacts that were transferred only have email address.

Hi everyone. New iPad 2 for Christmas. When I transferred contact to the iPad, I only got some of my contacts. In the contacts that I did transfer, the contacts only have the email listed. No phone numbers, birthdays,etc. Is it possible to correct this as I would like to have all the same contact lists on my iPhone and iPad?

Do the numbers still exist in your google contacts?
Google recently terminated support for new configurations of gmail using Exchange Active Sync for unpaid accounts. In theory, existing configurations will continue to work, but there have been some problem reports.
I've seen several mentions of the problem you describe in the last few days and so far, they've gone unresolved as far as I can tell. The root cause may be in google's termination of AES support.
Facebook contact sync may also be a suspect.

My question is why is my text messages that my wife sends to me are being seen and read by a friend that is on my contact lists?

You are probably going to have to take a trip to the Apple Store, but you can also make sure that:
Bluetooth is turned off when not in use
Location Services are only turned on for those locations that you want a constant update to
Background App Refresh is turned off
Automatic Downloads is turned off
Cellular Roaming is turned off when you don't need it
Go through your Settings and take a look at all of the settings to determine if you have any turned on that may be using a lot of battery, and which you really don't need.

Mail question as to contact list

Just changed my husband's macbook air to the new Yosemite. He randomly picks contacts in forwarding or writing certain e mails. Very rarely the same names on any group - or he could set up groups. He likes to just scroll down his contact list. I understand he can click the plus button on the right to add names to the TO list - but it goes out every time he picks one and has to go back in it. Very time consuming - IS there any other way he can go through contact list to randomly pick names?

Question on Z30 Contacts list

Sometimes when I open my "Contacts" list I see the accurate list that shows the contact name, company, facebook pic, etc but other times I only see a list of their names. This creates a problem when I try to build (create) contact groups ("My employees") using the smsbynow app cuz it may not have the contacts name and/or their email address. Why does it sometimes show a contact list that's different from the main Contact list?

Are you using Gmail?
My Z30 has contacts in 2 places, The contacts that are on Gmail address book. These contacts appeared when I setup email on my Z30. I also have contacts that are directly saved on my phone. Some of my contacts are appear twice with missing details. As I have the same contact on the phone and on Gmail.
I found the best option was to update my Gmail Address book with more details.

Unable to search successfully on Company field in a Contact list - SharePoint 2013 online

When searching for a company in a contact list, I get NO search results when the line items returned should be abundant.
I am using SharePoint 2013 Online with an Office 365 E3 license. I am the global administrator as well as site collection owner.
Since Company is an existing site collection column, I went to its managed property in the SharePoint Administration portal. I went to Search > Manage Search Schema > Managed properties and opened CompanyOWSTEXT in order to click the Searchable checkbox.
All items were grayed out and unable to be edited. The Searchable check box was UNCHECKED.
Why am I unable to edit that property?
How can I ensure that the Company field is crawled and can return search results?

When I add contacts from text messages they don't show up in my Contacts list.

Right, I hope I didn't miss another thread. Nothing appears in my contacts list when I try to save numbers from text messages. The only way to save a contact is to type it manually. But the "save to contacts" option is there, so where is it actually saving all those numbers ?

Thanks for the question. Let’s check to make sure all of your groups are being displayed. It is possible that your new contacts are defaulting to a group that is hidden. With the Contacts application open, do the following to make sure that all groups are checked:
Show or hide a group. Tap Groups, then select the groups you want to see. This button appears only if you have more than one source of contacts.

Email and Phone number added to contact list without permission?

Just discovered an email and phone number added to my contact list under my name and its not mine! How did this happen? Can't call Apple because my 90 days has expired and they won't answer the question without me paying!! So frustrating!! Hoping someone has an answer for me??

What is the full message of the notification ? If your phone number and email address were added to, for example, the Messages app on another device then you will need to go to that other device to remove them from it

How do I sync an iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 contact list on my iMac and keep the contact lists separate?

I am going crazy. I have an iPhone 4 and my husband an iPhone 5. When our devices are synced to iTunes, our contact lists are merged.
I've previously set up a separate user account for each of us and we both have separate apple id's. I even tried setting up a new library for him but it keeps reverting back to my contact list on his phone etc.
How can I sync our contact lists and keep these details separately? He has work numbers in my phone and I have mine in his. Its driving me nuts deleting the numbers we don't use on each others phone!

Skype Account contact list and skype name changed

Hi!
I have been actively using my skype account again lately and one time last week when I signed in, I just cannot. My username and password are correct. And so what I did was to reset my password. I was able to reset my password through my email and when I signed in to Skype, I found out that my skype account was "hacked", I think. My skype name, profile photo and contact list changed into somebody else's account.
I just want to ask what has happened to my account? Why did that happened? The username and contact list that appears to my account, I think, was leggit and not an act of hacking. Could it be possibly that our accounts switched?

Your report reads to me like your account was compromised (hacked). If you still have control of it, sign on to the account dashboard and change your account's registered e-mail address to something else, and then change the password.
Also, as a proactive measure, ensure your computer's software and patches are updated, and run your preferred anti-virus/malware/spyware program using the most recent virus signature files available.
