Contact names transferring to hands free radio in car

I have a blackberry 9720 and a samsung3
When i connect the phones to the car bluetooth stereo the samsung s3 trasnfers contacts and telephone numbers
The blackberry only appears to transfer the numbers which makes it useless for searching for contacts as i cannot search on name. My previous blackberry (8900) transferred names and nos.
is there an issue with 9720?
Thanks in advance

Thank you...that is much more clear. The process you are following is indeed the process to transfer just one contact. The process I outlined is how to transfer them all...and not being able to find "Manage Connections" will indeed result in not being able to transfer all contacts. So, rather, try this KB...perhaps it matches better your circumstance.
Good luck!

    Hello there stidhambr15,
    I was researching the issue you are having and recommend a couple of things. First it might be a good idea to reset the device following iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
    Resetting your device
    Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    If that doesn't quite get the device going again, I recommend restoring the device.
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software

    Might even be a good idea to turn off the phone, reseat the SIM card, and turn it back on.

  • When my iPhone 4S (with ios7) experiences a failed call while connected to my Bluetooth hands free in my car(screen locked) the failed call appears on the locked screen, as it should, then when I unlock the phone it automatically redials the failed call,

    When my iPhone 4S (with ios7) experiences a failed call while connected to my Bluetooth hands free in my car(screen locked) the failed call appears on the locked screen, as it should, the problem arises whenever I unlock the phone, it automatically redials the last failed call, it doesn't do this with missed calls that are on the locked screen, if any. It is really annoying as sometimes the phone doesn't respond to attempts to end the call before it connects to the number. I then have to explain that it was my phone and not me, I look like an idiot, which I don't really need any extra help with!! Does anyone have any ideas? I don't want to stop missed call from showing in the locked screen but it might be associated with the failed calls and therefore be the only resolution

    I have had the same issue which was driving me mad but think I have just found a way around it. In iOS 7 if you swipe up on the lock screen to access quick settings and go into timer then click the home button you get into the phone without calling the person back. Not a great 'fix' but hope it works for you. Come on Apple this isn't good enough, fix this bug otherwise you will lose your customers.

  • Hi,  Have an iPhone4  Just got roadster2 . more geared to Android anyone know of bluetooth hands free speaker for car most compatible for iPHone 4?

    Hi,
    I have an iPhone 4. Bought a Motorola Roadster2 but really geared to Android.
    Will return it. Can anyone help with a reccommendation for a Bluetooth Hands Free
    Speaker for car  that is most compatible with the iPhone/IOS.
    Thanks

    OK, in Australia, the best options I have found so far are:
    Powere cradle - http://www.holdmyphone.net/select-your-device.html?ddlBrands=Ford&ddlModels=Terr itory-04_09&ddlsubaccessories=0&ddlaccessories=0&hselect=Phone&hselect2=Apple&hs elect3=iPhone-3G
    BT carkit with Stereo integration - http://www.ow.com.au/shop/Car-Kits-Bluetooth/Parrot-CK3000-Evolution-Advanced-Bl uetooth-Car-Kit
    These are very simple to use and I havent had any issues after 12 months usage.
    Parrott have quite a few advanced products which are very good.

  • Syncing contacts with a Parrot hands free kit

    My old iPhone synced well with 2 Parrot hands free units (3100 and 3200). However, the 3G only partially syncs the contact list (gets about 1/2 way through on the 3100, a little better on the 3200). It looks like there is plenty of available memory on the hands-free unit. Anyone have similar problems/suggestions? (I have just over 1000 contacts.) There appear to be a number of duplicated or previously deleted contacts in the list that is synced.

    The issue was all around Mobilme syncs and the solution to stop duplicates by choosing "all contacts" solved the problem here.

  • IPhone G3 for Hands Free Communications in Car

    Is the new iphone G3 designed to work with a car kit that will broadcast cell phone conversations over the car speakers...like the Parrot system? Of course, one would desire to have ONLY verbal communications (no key strokes) required using the combination of the iPhone and the car kit (e.g. Parrot system) which would recognize iPhone settings to call a person's phone number. This feature would not require a head set unless desired. Such would be 100% hands free as required by CA starting on July 1st.
    Based on my previous research on the subject with the original iphone model there were six protocol profiles that were required and not available on iphone at that time. They are:
    GAP = Generic Access Profile
    SDP = Service Digital Profile
    OPP = Object Push Profile
    HSP = Head Seat Profile
    HFP = Hands Free Profile
    Whether this protocol info is accurate or not I do not know, but at that time Parrot confirmed that the original iphone will not work with their system. However,if I remember correctly, they may not have agreed with the list of protocols required which were obtained from Pioneer. Pioneer makes a car radio model with blue tooth, which also transmits the conversation onto the car speakers.
    Thanks for any thoughts on this subject.

    Hey Shane!
    You could always try going to Toyota and see if there is a firmware upgrade available for your car.  Even though your car is new, there are always firmware releases available.
    New Phones don't always work with older firmwares in new Car Stereos.  With Technology changing everyday you want to make sure your always update on all devices involded.

  • Transfer phonebook from BB to Hands free BT in Car

    Hi:
    I am new to this forum and apologize if this has already been covered, but I could not find a search function.
    I have a new Toytoa Highlander equipped with cool BT hands free technology.  I can get the car ready to receive the phone book, but cannot figure out how to make the BB Tour send the phonebook.
    Can anyone help me with that please?

  • HT201401 My 4s won't pair with my hands free in my car

    My Bluetooth on my 4s won't work with my bt handsfree in my car

    Re-boot both the phone and the nav system. If it still can't find it, verify that the phone can pair with a different hands free device.
    If it can, talk to Toyota and see if there is an update available for the nave system. There were known compatibility problems with some systems in Toyota and Lexus vehicles that were largely corrected by a system update.

  • Can you use Siri hands free in the car?

    I am going to be getting my first smartphone soon, and I plan on the Iphone 4S.....however, I haven't seen much on how well, if at all, Siri works in a car.  I have an older Honda Civic, so no integrated bluetooth or anything, but I thought about maybe getting one of those Motorola Roadster devices, or even just using my earbud bluetooth device.  Can Siri be activated and used via this method?  Thanks

    So I am in the same situation of wanting to leverage Siri in the car as a voice activated controller for both music and non-music functions. For music I wish to route the iPhone 4S audio over a headphone connection (for now) to my cars audio auxilliary input. I'm having an iPod adpater installed next week in the car so I'll try line out audio next. For non-music audio I'm ok if sound is output from the BT car speakerphone.
    I first picked up a Jabra Freeway. Very slick looking device - and expensive. I purchased  before buying iPhone 4S (and Siri) because of its integrated voice features. Well, I didn't like it very much in action so I returned and picked up the iPhone 4S and began using it with my Jawbone 2. I have found that my Jawbone 2 headset is capable of interacting with Siri as I desire. That is to say I can remotely initiate Siri from the Jawbone with littletrouble. Again I route iPhone audio out to my car stereo using iPhone headphone jack.
    Wanting to get rid of wearing the Jawbone BT device I picked up a Motorola Roadster. Problem now is that the Roadster is programmed to own the audio - meaning even though the iPhone initially plays music through its headphone jack the audio is switched over to the Roadster after I command Siri through it. I need to unplug the headphone jack connection then re-attach in order for the iPhone audio to play again through the jack.
    All I want is to interact with Siri through a BT car speakerphone and allow iPhone to route audio out across either headphone jack or line out. I'll likely return the Roadster and keep hunting for a unit that behaves like the Jawbone but in speakerphone style.
    BTW, it should go without saying that the FM audio routing feature of these BT speakerphones is at best a poor workaround.

  • Can i connect my Pebble watch and hands free in my car at the same time?

    Hey guys,
    I am thinking of buying a pebble watch,i'd like to know if it will be possible to have the watch and my handsfree in the car connected both simultaneously via bluetooth? Any input is appreciated ! cheers

    Should work fine; my boyfriend has a Pebble and a Ford...Escape, I think? And he hasn't had any issues with having both connected.
    I don't think you'd be able to pair, say, a bluetooth headset or similar and your handsfree system since they're similar devices (both have speakers/microphones). The Pebble is a different type of device so you should be good.

  • Contact order: I sort first names/Last: I enter phone numbers by priority, Most used (home or mobile), then work, then fax, and save.  The next time I use the phone, the order has been changed to work fax, home, mobile.  Using hands free in auto is a trip

    This is a pain when the phone re-sorts the order, when I need the most used number to be first using hands free in my car.   Who can get this corrected in the iphone software to leave the order in which I imput numbers alone.

    My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now.  About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

  • Best iPhone Hands-Free Device for the Car

    Wondering what is the best way to listen to my iPhone audio via the FM radio and talk to callers.
    Anyone know of the best way to use the iPhone "hand-free" in the car.
    Jack

    I will second xtremecarbon's mention of Motorola Bluetooth handsfree car kits.  I have a Motorola T325 and love it.  It works great with Siri.  It senses when you have entered your vehicle and verbally gives you the battery status and that you are connected to your iPhone using the device name.  This really freaks out valets and mechanics.

  • Bluethooth hands free

    Have a hands free bluetooth in car used with iphone 4 won't connect with iphone 5 can this be done without spending more money

    It might be set up in such a way that it can only pair with one phone at a time or you may need to do something special to set up a new phone.
    Consult the manual for the system & there should be suggestions in it for you.

  • Hands free blue tooth not connecting and sound quality poor

    I recently upgraded from a iphone 3g to the iphone 4. The 4 does not automatically connect to the hands free blue tooth in my Hyundai. I have to turn the phone off and then back on for the hands free in the car to connect to phone. On my 3g I turned on the car and it automatically went to the hands free speakers. Also people tell me they are having trouble hearing me, saying I sound very far away. I never had these problems on the 3g.
    Does anyone have any suggestions? This is frustrating because I am constantly in and out of my car and getting many calls from clients and staff while on the road.

    I installed IOS4.1 and the bluetooth handsfree connects about 20% of the time without having to power off the phone and turning it back on. I deleted the phone on the handsfree and re-pared the phone.
    Something is still not right with the iphone4 and bluetooth connection.

    Hey 07971950649,
    Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
    Go into Settings>Network Connections>Bluetooth and click on Paired.  Open the paired devices and what services are listed here?
    Also did you have a previous BlackBerry smartphone paired to handsfree?
    Also do you know if the SIM access profile is required on the parrot hands free?
    I look forward to your reply.
    Cheers.
