Contact 'phone number format preferences

Apple provides numerous options for formatting 'phone numbers but I cannot find a page where examples of each country are listed. Yes, I know how to choose Australia as my preference but I have no idea how Australians format their telephone numbers. Ideally, I want to list my phone numbers as +44 (11) 697.4554 but is their a country that follows that format, or one similar? And how do I find out. Many thanks to anyone with an answer.

Did you put in an inactive pricing request to restore the unlimited data within 14 days of the change? If you upgraded under contract then the data plan change would be valid.

  • Other country address/ phone number formats??

    Does anyone know if you can enter individual telephone numbers into a contact's card in the telephone number format of that country? For instance when I want to add a French friend's address and phone number it reverts to US standards, ie: (**)-***-***, when I really need to put the phone number in their French format, like: ** ** ** ** **.
    The same applies to that person's street/town address too, it has to be in the USA format not their French way of listing addresses.
    I cannot find a way of not applying the country specific "global" address and phone number formatting to individuals who do not have a US address......Am I missing something here? This has been annoying me for some while, while most of my contacts are USA based I'd really like to be able to list other friends and contacts who live elsewhere in a proper regional way...... So I thought I'd reach out to others to see if there's a solution here....thanks!

    Hello Peter,
    Under preferences inside the address book, there is a phone preference to edit or creative formats for displaying phone numbers in your address book.
    "Automatically format phone numbers"
    When this option is selected, Address Book formats phone numbers for you when you enter them. To create a new format, click the Add button and type a format in the Format field.
    Thanks,
    Hope this work out for you!

  • 10 digit phone number format

    Does anyone know of a way to change the default BB 10-digit phone number format of NNNNNNNNNN to include either spaces or parentheses?  i.e. (NNN) NNN-NNNN or NNN NNN NNNN.

    Hi and welcome to the forums.
    If you setup your contact in the (722-344-66770 you can certainly do it. The field is numeric..
    You can view the contact and it will be that format, but when you dial, it will just be numbers, The telco has no need of the dashes and parenthesis so the BB doesn't waste space displaying and sending them.
    The dashes and () in this case mean nothing to the telco. There are symbols that do, but if you stay with these your safe.

  • Changing Contacts telephone number format

    Hi all. I bought an iphone 6 in USA and I am from Argentina. In the apple store (USA) the product was activated.
    Do you know how can I change the Contacts' phone numbers' format so as to avoid the use of brackets () ?
    I already selected the propper language for me (spanish) and the Region (Argentina) but the formats remain unchanged.
    I still haven't placed a SIM into the iphone because I have to ask the carrier for a Nano-SIM which I do not have at the moment. May this be the problem? When I insert the new SIM I will have the right formats?
    Thanxs!
    Juan

    I've found another PC with XP and Outlook 2007, but I still can't find any service called "Windows Dialing".  But I tried it anyway.  Guess what I got: in this computer, a normal local telephone format isn't changed.  But when the number is in long distance format, ie +XX YYYYYYY, Outlook 2007 stupidly removes the '+' sign in front of it!
    I then tried in my first PC to see what would happen to international telephone number format.... it's OK, the '+' sign isn't deleted.
    What a f**k!  What's this ____ called Outlook 2007 which tries to reformat things it can't understand??
    I have exactly the same problem - I am in the UK and have a pile of UK numbers stored in international format (which most cell phones recognise and some generate automatically from incoming calls). So the number would be entered as +44 1234 56789. Outlook strips off the + and, because I sync with my pda, the numbers get exported to it in a broken state :-(
    In the UK, we don't drop leading digits - to dial a number I either dial 01234 56789 or +44 1234 56789. We don't really use local numbers a lot in the UK - it doesn't make any difference within a local area if I dial the full code, just the local number or the international version. So there is no need for Outlook to do anything.
    This is extremely aggravating - sure ly Outlook is not hard coded to use  US phone dialling methods?
    There must be a way to disable the automatic parsing of numbers - if not it is bug that needs fixing, IMHO...

  • Trying to get the contact phone number on Verizon site and it is not working

    I am trying to call teh Customer Support number to discuss my Order, but when I go to the Contact Us page and click on the Call Us link, I get a pop-up asking for my zip code and then I am taken right back to the Contact US - no phone #'s given.   This feature worked when I used it last Friday during normal business hours.
    I also tried the Live Chat link to see if I could engage a live person that way.   This time the link took me to a page that gave me the option of linking to the Support Knowledge base or accessing the automated customer support 'person' (which is just an FAQ interface).
    Help - how can I talk to a live person.    If live help (via phone or chat) is limited to certain hours, that should be posted.   user should not be given the virtual version of the run-around.
    Does anyone have the technical contact phone number for Maryland/DC region?

    1-800-VERIZON
    1-888-553-1555
    Both numbers feel like they hit the same place, and I know verizon has been consolidating all their numbers to the main one - so stick with that.

  • Anyone notice that text/iMessages are not listed by contact's name but the contact phone number now?

    Anyone notice that text/iMessages are not listed by contact's name but the contact phone number now after 5.0.1?

    Yes, I just noticed this after upgrading to 5.0.1. That's why I came here to this forum. I tried re-syncing with address book, but it didn't help. Not only is my text messages only showing phone numbers, instead of contact names, but my call log is doing that as well.

  • SQL phone number format check

    Hello, I am looking for a programmatic way to check phone number formats in my database using SQL. The phone numbers MUST be one of 2 formats:
    XXX-XXX-XXXX or (XXX)XXX-XXXX
    I want to return the row if they are NOT one of these formats.
    Thank you!

    This?
    SQL> WITH t AS (
      2     SELECT '555-555-1212' phone FROM dual UNION ALL
      3     SELECT '( 555 )555-1212' FROM dual UNION ALL
      4     SELECT '555 555 1212' FROM dual UNION ALL
      5     SELECT '(555)555-1212' FROM dual UNION ALL
      6     SELECT '555 555-1212' FROM dual)
      7  SELECT phone
      8  FROM t
      9  WHERE TRANSLATE(phone, '()-0123456789', '()-') NOT IN ('--', '()-');
    PHONE
    ( 555 )555-1212
    555 555 1212
    555 555-1212If you are on 11g, you could also do something with regexp_like, but personally, I think it would be overkill. If spaces are not invalid as long as the rest meets the format, two parens and a hyphen or two hyphens (i.e. the second one could be valid, but not the third and fifth) then use replace to get rid of spaces first and nvl to deal with nulls like:
    SQL> WITH t AS (
      2     SELECT '555-555-1212' phone FROM dual UNION ALL
      3     SELECT '( 555 )555-1212' FROM dual UNION ALL
      4     SELECT '555 555 1212' FROM dual UNION ALL
      5     SELECT '(555)555-1212' FROM dual UNION ALL
      6     SELECT '555 555-1212' FROM dual)
      7  SELECT phone
      8  FROM t
      9  WHERE NVL(TRANSLATE(REPLACE(phone, ' '), '()-0123456789', '()-'), 'x') NOT IN ('--', '()-');
    PHONE
    555 555 1212
    555 555-1212John

  • Contact phone number for Customer Service Center in Wallingford CT

    Hello,
    Does anyone have a contact phone number for the customer service center in Wallingford, CT.  I sent them a letter back on May 17, 2014 and have not heard anything.  I called the general customer service phone number on June 7 to follow-up and they did not have any record of my letter being received or reviewed.  I have a major issue with Verizon cancelling my unlimited data in error and I am giving Verizon one last chance to work with me on this issue before I switch providers.  You would think that they would have the decency to at least respond to someone who has been a loyal customer for over 20 years and who has gone through the trouble of drafting a formal letter and mailing it (since nobody would give me an email address).  Please reply with any suggestions.
    Thanks.

  • HT4489 I am trying to import vcards, they are very simple - a name and contact phone number.  No pic, no ancillary information, but I get an error then directed to this completely unhelpful page.  The vcards are standard exports from another phone.

  • International Phone Number formatting

    Hello all,
    I'm wondering if there are any open source phone number formatting libraries out there? The phone numbers can come from anywhere in the world.
    I would get something like this
    0112024444444
    Algeria
    and get
    011 20 (2) 444-4444
    Thanks,
    Ralph

    I'm sure there are, but there's a lot of formats out there. Why not just have a single field and let people put what they want. If it's not a valid number, then they won't get a call.

  • Allow Multiple Phone Number Formats

    Hi folks,
    In the past I have always set the Phone Number format using the simple Arbitrary Mask feature in the text box properties e.g. (99) 9999 9999 but I have a form where two different phone number formats are acceptable (an Australian landline OR mobile).
    They are:
    (99) 9999 9999
    9999 999 9999
    Is this only possible through the magic of Javascript? I have tried Googling and found nothing.

    Thank you for your reply GKaiseril. I think I'm starting to undertsand it a little bit, especialyul after reading a similar thread that you contruibuted to here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/861867
    My understanding is that the "vr re_NA_Phone_Commit =" bit specifies where the spaces are in the strong of numebrs, where the brackets go etc. But doesn't this still only set one type of format?
    If I use the following code, it turns 0399999999 (an example landline number) into (03) 5499 9999, great! But if I typed in 0499999999 (an example mobile number) I want it to become 0499 999 999 becasue that's how we format mobile numbers.
    // custom format
    var re_NA_Phone_Commit = /^\(?([0-9]{2})\)?[. ]?([0-9]{4})[-. ]?([0-9]{4})$/
    if(re_NA_Phone_Commit.test(event.value))
    event.value = "("+ RegExp.$1 +") " + RegExp.$2 + "-" + RegExp.$3;
    else {
    event.value = "";
    event.rc = false;
    // end custom format
