Contact photo displayed fullscreen vs small size - please read

On the commercials the photo of contact calling is on top and overlayed the background (wallpaper picture). When I get a phone call the entire screen is taken up by the contact person... This would not be bad except the fact their picture is behind the keypad and the menu screen.
Does anyone know how I can adjust this? or is this just default. I have looked in settings and can't seemed find anything.
Thanks

Another person/thread suggested that if you add the picture to the contact on you computer address book and then sync, you get the little pics, but if you add the picture directly on the phone, you get the background pic. I have not tried this, but I did add all my photos on my laptop, and I get the thumbnail when people call. Goodluck.

    Can I change an Extra Large photo book to a smaller size once done?

    Sure - butyour text boxes may need work since being a different size may affect the view - to change duplicate the book just in case (select it and press command - D) and then go to themes and select the same theme in teh new size - closly verify the modified book and preview it -
    Before ordering your book preview it using this method - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference - the delivered book will match it.

  • I am unable to get small contact photos display while receiving or making calls!!

    I am unable to make out how to get a small display of the photo on the right hand top corner of the phone while receiving or making calls. I always get a larger display which is covered by the phone options. I have tried every possible option
    1. Adding photos in windows contacts and syncing with iphone
    2. Adding photos to my contacts from photos taken from iphone
    3. Adding photos synced from my PC
    None of these options work, can anyone help me to get smaller display of photos while making and receiving calls

    Photos added to your contacts on your computer will appear as thumbnails. Those added directly on your phone will appear full size. So, edit the contacts on your phone & delete the photos that were added directly on your phone.

  • What Resolution To Crop For Photo Display On Widescreen TV?  Please Help

    Hello,
    I'm having great difficulty trying to crop my photos for display on a widescreen TV.
    The resolution of the TV is 1920x1080, and when I crop to those dimensions I get the black letterbox bars on top and bottom of the screen when I display my photos on the TV.
    What specific XXXX x XXXX numbers should I use when I crop in order to display my photos from edge to edge on the TV without the black letterbox bars?
    Also, could you please specify the proper ratio number to enter into Lightroom for the same purpose?  Apparently Lightroom requires a ratio number as opposed to pixel numbers in the dialog box.   When I enter 16 : 9, the resulting crops display the black letterbox bars when viewed on the TV.
    I've searched the net and read many discussions about pixel aspect ratios and dimensions and square pixels, etc., and I am totally confused because I should be able to achieve my goal with a 16:9 ratio, but no matter what I do I end up with the letterbox bars when displaying my photos on the widescreen TV.
    Thanks very much in advance!

    You'll need to describe just how you're getting those images onto the TV I think, for people to be able to answer this reasonably.
    Is the TV plugged-in to the computer's video card?  Or are you making a video that you're displaying off a DVD or similar?

  • ITunes full screen display playsback very small size

    When I playback a video, Movie or TV show, in full screen, the size of the video is about 2 inches by 1 inch with the remainder of the screen black.

    I'm experiencing the same problem on 8.01 and when I click on the two arrows for full screen mode, the show stops playing and I'm shot back to the main iTunes window. Odd. Yesterday it was fine, today it's not working.

  • I need to get photos off my iphone using itunes, PLEASE READ AND HELP

    okay, I have pics on my iphone that need off and i can't use my phone, i need to use itunes. how do i do it, ive tried and can't see a remove photos button. it says to deselect a box and hit remove photos, where is that?

    If these photos were synced then you need to connect your phone to iTunes, select the phone under devices and then the photos tab. Deselect photos or albums you want to remove.
    If these photos were taken on the phone then you need to delete on your phone. Go to your camera roll and you will see an icon in the top right (a square with an arrow), select and then choose the photos and hit delete

  • Contact photo question

    In the tv ad's for both the first gen and the 3G when a call is recived the added photo displays as a small picture in the upper right corner with the wallpaper still displayed..I like that. my phone will display the contact photo covering the whole screen. Am I missing a setting somewehre? I have the first gen iPhone.

    MMulhern is right. Small photos come from setting the image in the contact (through MobileMe for instance) whereas full screen photos are set by using a photo on the phone, and assigning it to a contact.
    So to have just thumbnails, set up all your images for contacts using your email client on the Mac, or the MobileMe website.
    If you decide you'd like full sized images, here's what you need to do.
    In iPhoto set up a new album. I named mine "Contacts". In this album put all the photos you'd like to use for your contacts. I suggest 1200x1600 sized photos because that's what the iPhone photos are (so you'll get a consistent experience).
    In iTunes, sync this album to your iPhone.
    On the iPhone, go to Photos, and select a photo and push the button on the bottom left of the screen. Select "Assign to Contact".
    Once you've found the appropriate contact it will now appear full screen when you receive a call.
    Hope that helps!

  • Full screen contact photos

    I have just updated to iOS 8 and I am trying to get full screen contact photos instead of the small circle in the corner.

    Hey Haigh2911,
    Thanks for the question. Yes, full screen call pictures have returned in iOS 8 for incoming calls. You’ll want to attach a photo to your contact’s card in the Contacts app:

  • Contact photos are very small

    I like tagging my contacts with their photos so that i can see who is calling but on the Nokia N97 mini, i find that the photo size displayed is very small - less than 10 mm by 10 mm. Would like to see the photo on the full screen. Is this a software issue or something I haven't set properly ?
    Any help available ?

  • N8 contacts photos problem - big image size

    So I attached photos to my contacts using ovi suite. I used various size photos, some from camera, some from FB, some from somewhere else. But I have few problems:
    First - photos appear correct in phone book, but then I make or receive call image is zoomed in and I usually see callers chest, shoulder or whatever else, but not face, this also reduce image quality for some reason. And all images I attached is at least 640x480.
    Second - apparently ovi suite doesn't resize images and just save images in original size. This means, if i take photo of my friend and then attach it to his contact, it will take up 1MB or more depending on camera.
    And we come to third - there is no indication of resolution used in contacts photos, so I can't even resize all images manually (despite the fact, that this would be absurd anyway).
    Conclusion: it take a bit of time for images to load in contact book, because of bigger resolution, than required; no idea what that resolution is; photos are big enough but still got zoomed in during calls.
    Please if someone knows the solution, tell me. I've been googling around for about two weeks, with no luck..
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    I tried what Symbian_fan suggested and it works fine. However, images in contacts still doesn't load instantly (probably firmware problem), but size reduced from 1MB to 250KB for for 24 images I experimented on. If anyone wants to modify photos in computer (what I suggest if you have many contacts), N8 uses 290x290 resolution for images of contacts.
    On the other hand, I still haven't tested adding 290x290 photos via Ovi Suite. There is posibility that it still can mess up images. I'll probably try latter and report back.

  • Contact Photo Size???

    So I have a new iPhone (8gb).
    Using my Mac Pro to upload everything, contacts, iCal, etc.
    So I made a new iPhone group in the address book.
    Copied a photo from preview and pasted it in the contact photo box.
    Syncs fine.
    On the iPhone the little pic is there under each contact.
    But when that person calls, it is full screen, or even larger where I can only see the person's eye or nose. And a few times the screen has come distorted where I am unable to read anything. I read that when I make a contact on the mac, the photo is supposed to display only in the corner when they call. But this is not happening for me?
    Anyway to fix this?
    Is there a max pic size for address book contacts?
    Thanks For You Help

    The easiest way I've found to add photos to contacts was within the iPhone itself.
    First, you'll have to load the photos you want onto your iPhone (make an album in iPhoto of the photos, regular size/unaltered).
    Then, on the iPhone, go into your photos. Find a photo you'd like to add to a contact, then click on the little photo frame w/a large swooping arrow in the lower right corner of the photo.
    You'll be prompted to use the photo as wallpaper, email it, or, the one you want, "Assign To Contact"
    Select that option - you'll be presented w/your contacts list - choose the person you'd like to add a photo to. Then, and this is the key part, you can resize and crop/move the photo (basically, this is a preview of what the contact photo will look like when you get a call from that contact).
    Hope that helps.

  • Cisco Jabber client not displaying Contact Photos

    Hi All,
    We have configured an external webserver to store our contact photos. But I couldn't get it working on Jabber windows clients. It works for CUPC8.5. I run the wireshark on webserver and can't see any request from Jabber client. xml file is -
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <config version="1.0">
    <Directory>
      <DirectoryServerType>EDI</DirectoryServerType>
       <PhotoUriSubsitutionEnabled>true</PhotoUriSubsitutionEnabled>
      <PhotoUriSubstitutionToken>sAMAccountName</PhotoUriSubstitutionToken>
      <PhotoUriWithToken>http://webserveraddress/people/sAMAccountName.jpg</PhotoUriWithToken>
    </Directory>
    <CUCM>
      <PhoneService_UseCredentialsFrom>presence</PhoneService_UseCredentialsFrom>
    </CUCM>
    </config>
    Can someone please advise what's the issue.

    Hey  Abhi,
    In the PRT, I see the following:
    2012-05-28 09:02:16,733 DEBUG [0x00001654] [s\feature-libs\config\src\Config.cpp(74)] [csf.unified.config] [Config::getValue] - result [true] key [PhotoUriWithToken] value [http:///people/adack.jpg]
    I understand that you changed the parameter to see if we can even pull a single image for anyone, however, what I see next is:
    2012-05-28 09:02:16,733 DEBUG [0x00001654] [rdsource\ADPersonRecordSourceLog.cpp(50)] [csf.person.adsource] [WriteLogMessage] - Configuration::SetConfigurationParameter - setting configuration parameter [PhotoSource] to [adack] //This needs to be AD Parameter which I see you used earlier
    2012-05-28 09:02:16,733 DEBUG [0x00001654] [rdsource\ADPersonRecordSourceLog.cpp(50)] [csf.person.adsource] [WriteLogMessage] - Configuration::SetConfigurationParameter - setting configuration parameter [PhotoUriWithToken] to [http://pho/people/adack.jpg]
    Do you know where this url is coming from?
    I suggest that based on Jason's input and as well as changing the parameter back to the one we want, lets follow this action plan:
    1) Exit out of Jabber and delete the files from the following location:
    C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\Cisco\Unified Communications\Jabber\CSF\Logs
    2 ) Modify the Jabber-Config.xml
    Change the Directory Section of the Jabber-Config.xml to the following
      EDI
      True
      sAMAccountName
      http://sptde.racq.com.au/people/sAMAccountName.jpg
    3) Re-login and then Generate the PRT by Help -> Report Error
    Keep in mind if the jabber-config.xml is uploaded on Call Manager, it'll replace any local modification, so we have to update the file on Call Manager .
    Once we have the new PRT with the Config provided above, I can work on that.
    Regards,
    Jasmeet
