Contact photo on the iPod

I was able to sync over my contacts from AddressBook but the contact photo are not showing up on the iPod???

I've tried various things and nothing has really worked. By importing them one at a time from address book instead of using iTunes, I was able to get the pic for my contact to show up, but none of the others did. I tried trashing the file iTunes put in the contacts folder and resyncing... nothing. Tried selecting all contacts from Address Book and dragging into the contacts folder ... nothing. So I know it is supposed to work, but it seems as if it just doesn't want to.
Any ideas?
Dan

  • How to get the contact photos from the address book on the ipod ??

    Hello !
I figured out that it was available to sync the address book (on Mac OS)with the contact photos and find them on your ipod nano chromatic... But I have Windows and I can't make it work with Outlook. I can sync it with itunes and have the contact names and few infos but not the pictures, there is just a grey silhouette instead of the contact photo. Is there anybody that know how to get the contact picture on the ipod (with Windows OS) ?
Thanks a lot in advance !

Hooray !! I have found how to do it !! There is a new option now on itunes when you sync your ipod with outlook. You just have to check the box entitled "add the contact pictures". I'm not sure it was there before, but I did an update today !!
    I'm really glad !!

  • How do I delete photos from the iPod???

I had no problem loading photos on my nano but cannot figure out how to delete them. Everytime I connect the iPod to the computer now, I get a message, "iTunes cannot copy photos to the iPod because all of the albums selected for copying no longer exist." However, those albums do exist. Any suggestions for how to deal with this and ultimately delete photos?

    Lori,
I just got my nano a few days ago, and have been learning more about it. I had the same question you have, but I think I now know the answer.
You can NOT delete specific photos from the iPod. You will need to delete ALL of them and re-synch a folder that has ONLY the photos that you want to display on the Nano.
To do, this go back to Edit->Preferences->iPod->Photos and deselect "Synchronize photos..."
    That will remove ALL photos.
Then you will need to create a folder specifically for the iPod. Put only those photos you want for the Nano into that new folder. Then when you Synchronize the next time, you will select "Copy selected folders only:"
If anyone knows different, let me know. I'm relatively new with Ipods.

To get synced photos from an iPod to a computer you need a third-party program like TouchCopy or PhoneView.

Is it possible to make photos with the Ipod Nano 5G?

No. But you can take a photo of the video with your Mac.
With the iPod connected to your computer, click on the iPod, open the DCIM folder & move the video file onto your desktop. Play the video & when you get to the part you want to take a picture of, put Quicktime on pause. Take a screen shot (appleshift3) or (appleshift4 for cross hair cropping) of the paused video.

    Help!

Have a look at the tutorial, it's slightly outdated as it describes iTunes 6 but the principle is the same with 7 : Transferring Pictures to Your iPod
You can also read a bit more here: iTunes and iPod: Frequently asked questions (FAQ) about Photo Sync
Once you've had a look at that a good tip to prevent all your photos going on the iPod create an album in iPhoto called "iPod Photos" or something similar. Under the photo preferences for the iPod, point iTunes to "copy from selected albums only" and update from there. If you keep a dedicated album like this, you won't need to edit your normal iPhoto collection just for the iPod and you can add and remove picture from it whenever you need to.

I'm using a 16GB iPhone 4S, with the latest version of iOS 8.1.1. Whenever I go to the "Cellular" settings on the main settings page and turn OFF cellular data usage for native apps like mail, app store, contacts, photos etc , the moment I back out and come back in, all the native apps I turned cellular off for are back on again. Kindly help me

Exact same question as ankit1986, specifically with the photos while on cellular-only, and as simple as it sounds, I tried the hard reboot Ingo2711 suggested.  Still experiencing the same error with the native apps reverting to on.  It's killing our shared data-plan (2GB).

  • HT1329 Can you transfer photos off the ipod classic?

Recently my hard drive in my MacBook Air crashed so I was wondering if I could transfer my photos that were originally placed on the Ipod Classic with a MacBook Air off of my Ipod Classic onto another Mac? If so how? Thanks

You can do that (in a useable form) only if you had a particular setting enabled when you synced the photos to the iPod.  To find this setting, select the iPod in the iTunes sidebar, under DEVICES.  Over to the right, go to the Photos tab.  On that screen, there is a checkbox that says Include full-resolution photos.  IF that checkbox was checked when you synced the photos to the iPod, they are stored separately on the iPod as individual image files.  You just need to Enable disk use (on the iPod's Summary tab), and use Finder to open the iPod's "disk."  The image files are in a folder called Photos.
If that checkbox was not checked, the photos on iPod only exist in an optimized format to fit the small iPod screen and they are stored in a special "database" file (to save as much storage space as possible on iPod).  Therefore, they are not in a format that is directly usable, and they are low resolution, so even if they were extracted (using a third-party utility), they would look highly pixelated when enlarged to computer screen size.

  • How can i retrieve deleted photos from the ipod and stream

We inadvertantly deleted all photos from the Ipod not realizing it would also delet them on the PC Stream.  Is there any way to retrieve them?

If you backed-up the iPod the restore from backup

Otherwise a data recovery company may be able to get them. Not cheap.

  • Photos onto the iPod

    I have a 60 GB Black iPod.
For my iPod, I have set a specific folder that syncs with my iPod, which has all the photos I want to have go into the iPod.
However, some photos in one of the folders that are in the specific folder do not go in Alphabetical/Numerical order.
For example, I have titled each photo "dog" with a number after it. However, the iPod simply ignores this.
I have tried deleting the photos from the iPod and putting the photos onto the iPod again, but the iPod still refuses to do the ABC order.
Also, ALL the file names were renamed.
Can anyone answer this or pinpoint me to a board that can answer my question?
    Thank you!
Black iPod 60 GB   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

I had a similar thing happen and found that I had numbered a couple of photo's wrongly. The ipod, as with the pc, displays them in date order i.e either the date the photo's were taken or the date they were put on the pc (in the case of sony it's the date they were taken)

  • Getting Photos off the iPod

I have ended up with some photos on my iPod through automatic sync that I don't want on the iPod. However I don't know how to get the photos off. Can anyone help me?
Fifth Generation Video iPod 30GB Windows XP

Connect the iPod, in the summary screen click on the "photos" tab.
Remove the check mark from "sync photos". You will then see this message.
Click "yes", then click "apply" (bottom right corner).
However this will remove all the photos on the iPod.
If you just want to delete selected ones, you can remove the photos from the folder with which they are synced.
    This is an option.
Create a new folder and give it a recognizable name (e.g. iPod photos).
Drag (or copy) your photos into this new folder.
Connect your iPod and open iTunes and when the summary page appears, click on the "photos" tab.
Under "Synchronize photos from" choose "Selected albums" and select the new folder you created and click on "OK".
Then you can just add and remove photos to and from that new folder as you wish.
