If you want to sync your information across multiple devices and computers, you should use one or more of these methods. These include iCloud, CardDAV servers, CalDAV servers, and servers that utilize the Exchange ActiveSync protocol.

Bbm contact pictures not displaying

i have a problem where i cant see my contacts' updated pictures and they can't see mine. i tried solving this by deleting and reinstalling blackberry messenger, but now i can't see even the old pics! it just shows the blackberry messenger default picture. PLEEEEASE can someone help me?

On my new 4S, how do I get my contact pic to display on the full screen when that contact calls? Now it displays as a thumbnail on the banner

Right now when someone calls that I have a contact pic set for, it shows as a thumbnail on the right side of the banner (right corner of screen). I want it to come up on the whole screen like I see other iphones do. I was told at first that this happens when I use a pic not taken with my phone, such as an uploaded pic from my pc. This is not the case, the only 2 that I have tried to do were pics taken with the iphone. Can someone help me to get this corrected? I have spent over 2 hours with verizon, they cannot figure it out and I also have a senior technical advisor at Apple trying to figure it out, but I am curious if anyone has come across this with the new 4S and how they fixed it. The senior apple advisor thinks it has something to do with syncing my contacts through itunes or google.

Yes, this is exactly what is causing the problem. Macs cannot write to NTFS formatted drives, only read. You must move the documents to the internal HDD/SSD of the Mac to be able to edit them.
Or, since you say you don't want to move the documents to the internal storage, you'll need to format the external HDD as FAT32.

My contacts do not display in the contacts section.

All of the information is present in call history and I can search my contacts when sending a text. This means that the contact info is there but just not displaying properly. This happened when I upgraded to 5.0. I have a backup file on iTunes but the backup time and date is more recent than the update. Any ideas?

I read the post "Contacts show up in WhatsApp and Text&Call history but not in 'Contacts' after iOS5 update"
I then logged onto iCloud at www.icloud.com after my contacts were there "thank God". I then made sure my phone was connected via wi-fi. Then when I brought up contacts the screen flashed on and off. I re-entered contacts and they were all displayed.
Sounds like a wierd glitch related to getting iCloud up and running.

ICloud Photostream pics not displaying

Okay, so I've successfully converted my iPhoto library, made the Photos library my "system" library and activated only "My Photo Stream" in Photo's Preferences. On my iPhone, I have 336 pics in my Photo Stream. Photos says 252 and is not displaying many pics. I can click on them and open the blank spaces but they are not being displayed. ??? See screen shot.
I've disabled/re-enabled iCloud Photo Stream in Photos and rebooted (re-logged in to icloud) but no joy. Anyone else experiencing this?
The version of Photos says it all.... 1.0. We're starting all over again folks...

If so, then the fact that you have iCloud set up on your Mac implies that you may need to update iPhoto. What version of iPhoto are you running?

Photoshop pics not displaying in iphoto 08

Photoshop pictures are not displaying. Just a black photo appears. However, the photos do appear normal in Apple Preview. Why is this?

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the apple and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild the thumbnails.
I can't tell the difference b/n the black and white image that our photographer created in photoshop and the photos that I create in iphoto using the effects black and white feature. I've heard there is a difference and was wondering whether I would notice it more when I printed
I have no idea what such a difference might be, nor would I expect there to be one - but print a couple and compare.

Contact names not displaying in messages

On my N9 while in messages (sms) my contacts names are not showing up for some people randomly. It just diplays the number, but it does show the correct contact picture and when i go into the message thread it does show the contact name there. Anyone else experience this issue and know of a fix? I've tried adjusting the way the phone number i stored in my phone but it does not appear to help. I am on pr 1.1

I have the same. I see that new message come, I see only number. But after some time correct name is shown.
More probematic thing is that contact is not showing when someone calls me. I see that someone is calling, there is only number shown, I answer, (still no contact name) i talk few seconds and then i look at phone i see that contact is shown. Why it takes so long for my phone to recognize contact?
I don't need to say how annoying this is, I must recognize all my friends by voice.

Contact pictures not displaying in Lync 2011 for Mac

Using Lync 2011 for Mac I'm not seeing any contact pictures (including my own), though I can see them when signed into Lync 2013 on a Windows PC (7, 8.1, and 10 Technical Preview for Enterprises).
My company uses O365 hosted Exchange and on premise Lync Server.
I'm using OSX 10.10.1 (on a 2014 Air) and Lync for Mac 2011 14.0.10 (141024). I have AutoUpdate set to automatically check weekly and I manually checked (button at the bottom of Microsoft AutoUpdate) so I believe I'm running the current release.
Logging in with another user account on my same Mac/Lync install has the same issue
Another user account on their own Mac also has the same issue
It's also worth noting that the same issue arises when signing into Lync for Android and iOS as well, but not on Windows (Lync 2013).
Any thoughts? Thank you very much for your time and assistance.
Also, my apologies for putting this question in this subforum, but I didn't see any main forum for Office for Mac or Lync 2011 or Lync for Mac at all. If there is such here on technet, please drop the link here and I'll move the thread.

On mobile, you have no control over how photos are displayed. Lync Mobile can only display photos retrieved from Active Directory or SharePoint, it cannot display a photo from a URL. If a user
is displaying a photo from a URL and there is a photo in AD, it will display the photo from AD. If there is no photo in AD, it will display no photo at all.
About Lync for Mac, as I know Lync 2011 for Mac does not support high resolution images. Only in Lync 2013,
In Lync 2013, when the user’s photo experience has been migrated to Exchange 2013 and they are using Lync 2013, high resolution photos can be used.
So please tell us where the photos are stored, we need more information to troubleshoot the issue.

Some iCloud contacts do not display on the iPhone

I have an iPhone and iPad. Recently I exported my companie's contacts from Lotus Notes to a vCard and successfully imported them to my iCloud contacts. When I sign in to iCloud on my PC all contacts show up, the number of contacts matches exactly. When the iPad is used and only iCloud contacts are selected to synch, all contacts show up as expected. When I do the same on my iPhone, there are about 15 contacts that for whatever reason do not show up. Anyone ever had an issue like this? Sounds like it could be some issue on the iPhone since the iPad is able to display all the contacts.
I have a iPhone 5s and iPad mini, both with iOS7.1.

Thank you for your response. I guess I should have indicated the things that I have already tried . I have already attempted this step couple of times on the iPhone. I also deleted the iCloud account on the iPhone and added it back on. None of those things had any effect. I guess the next thing I could try is backup>full reset.

Contact numbers not displaying properly

In addition to Siri and voice control not working at all, my contacts are displaying incorrectly. I live in the 815 area code region and my phone displays my most used numbers as (81)5-123-4567 as opposed to 815-123-4567. This means NONE of my contacts names appear when recieving calls. I have edited out the ( ) on the phone and my contact lists (gmail & me.com) on the Mac I sync the phone with. The numbers ALWAYS revert to the improper style.
What am I missing? As a side note, I updated the Mac (2009 Mini) to OSX Lion at about the same time I got the phone (Nov.2011) but I don't know if the problems are related.

Tried your suggestion and then had a couple people call me that were in my contacts. Still the same issues.
Phone service is Verizon but they claim the issue is with the phone. Contacted Apple Express Care this morning and they confirmed all my settings are correct as well. Have an appointment with a Genius in the morning. Hopefully they can get this issue straightened out as it's the second phone since the middle of November when the original wouldn't see ANY Bluetooth devices.

Contact name not displaying for texts/messages, only phone number does

When I turn on my iPhone 6 (iOS 8.0.2) in the morning (I shut it off at night), any received text messages (iMessages or standard texts) only show the phone number of the person who sent the text and the standard tone for texts is heard, when it should display the name and play the special text tone I setup on specific contact records. It is not til after I use the Touch ID or enter my passcode that the name of the contact who sent the text displays AND the special text tone for that contact is heard. This not normal behavior. Even upon startup on my former iPhone (5), any texts received displayed the contact name and played the appropriate tone when the phone was turned on during the morning. HELP! I believe this is a bug; but, would like to have this confirmed. If it's a setting or combination of settings that I'm missing in iOS 8.0.2, please let me know.
My contacts have never been stored in iCloud nor do I plan to use iCloud.

Contacts do not display on iphone4 phone calls

I recently migrated data from a blackberry to an iphone 4. when I get a call from a known contact, the display says unknown caller. Any suggestions?

Does it display any caller ID info at all? The caller ID info must match the number for the contact in your phone EXACTLY for the name to be displayed.
If you're not even getting a number, contact your carrier. They may not have your service provisioned correctly.
