Contact Picture on the display by incoming sms

I'm really happy about my new Iphone. Just one little thing im wondering about. My old Sony Ericson showed me, when i got a sms, on the display the contact picture. that was quite nice.
Do you know if it's possible to set this also for iphone?
And maybe also that i have the picture of the person in the sms-overview?
Thanks for your advices!

Not possible on the iPhone (contact pics are displayed with voice calls only).

I am assuming that you have associated a picture with the contact in the information for the contact

  • MBW-150 - enlarging display of incoming SMS wording

I've recently purchased an MBW-150 watch, which I'm running with my Galaxy S phone via the OpenWatch app.  There are settings to change the way in which status-info is displayed (i.e. as just 1 line or on 2 lines), but I can't see a similar setting with which to change how incoming SMS texts are displayed.  They always display on 2 lines at a time, but I'd like to be able to change it to just 1 line (i.e. thus doubling the font size), in order to make it easier to read. Anyone know how?  Thanks.

Unfortunately by default there is no way to change this setting on the watch.

  • Contact photos do not display on incoming calls

when I receive a call from someone in my contact list, their photo no long shows up on the incoming call. It used to show up, but stopped some time in the last few days.
Any clue on how to get it back? Thanks.

    Hey ronss,
Thanks for the question. Some features have changed with the iOS 7.1 update. Do your contact pictures still show in a small circle on the incoming call screen? as outlined in this image:
    Apple - iOS 7 - Update
    http://www.apple.com/ios/ios7-update/
If so, this is expected behavior with the iOS 7.1 update. If not, check to make sure that your contacts still have pictures associated with their contact cards.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • Is it possible to display contact pictures in the messaging app?

My dad was wondering if it's possible to show a contact's picture when he is texting them so that he doesn't accidentally text the wrong person. I didn't think it was possible, but hey, no harm in asking. I guess when you're sending a text to someone you could always use the contacts app to open up a new message so it is automatically addressed to whichever contact you pressed?

No, but if going to the trouble of selecting the contact in Contacts each time before composing and sending a new message, make sure the correct person's name is selected in Messages which is also available in the header bar when a contact's messaging conversation is selected.

  • Is it possible to show my contacts pictures when they text/sms?

    Hi,
This could be one of those questions for things that only seem to happen on the TV. But is is possible to have a contact picture appear when I receive a sms from a contact who is already stored in my phone. I know you can do this when a call is received, but wondered if it can be done when they text.
    Cheers

Sorry, no. You can suggest Apple add that feature here:

  • Contact Picture sync behavior

Problem: I add a new contact picture on the iPhone, later sync: the pic loses its resolution and becomes a low-res 'Address Book' picture that appears in the top-right corner when someone calls.
I know the topic of contact pic has been hashed out lots already, but I haven't found this answer yet. How do I get my iPhone contact pictures to stay on my iPhone contacts in full resolution after syncing to MacBook Address Book?
What happens: take a new picture with the iPhone by going to the contact / Edit / add photo / Take Photo, or add a picture by going to the contact / Edit / add photo / Choose Existing Photo -- the contact picture will be a full-screen full-res contact photo; the person will call and their picture will be the full background on the phone call display. Then I sync a couple times with my MacBook with 'Sync Address Book contacts' checked: the full-res photo will be lost, replaced by a low-res version that only appears in the top-right when the person calls.
It's like the first sync Address Book receives the photo from the iPhone, the 2nd sync the iPhoto replaces the high-res photo with the low-res one that Address Book is using. When it happens with a new photo it appears there is no way to recover the higher-res photo (very sad sometimes). It doesn't happen 100% of the time - perhaps there's a variable I'm not seeing.
Others have said that you only get the low-res, top-right picture if you assign the photo to the contact in Address Book on the computer, but I'm also getting it when I simply sync to the computer. I've never added contact pictures using Address Book.
My wish: Address Book would accept the higher-res version photo. Fallback wish: Address Book uses a low-res version, iPhone keeps it's higher-res version. At the very least, let me choose which device takes precedent in sync!
Is there a workaround? A way to recover the higher-res version? A way to make the higher-res picture stick? Mostly I want to know: is anyone else having this problem?
Thanks for any info in advance.

It seems that with each upgrade the feature that allow you to assign a photo to a contact keeps changing the way it works. When I select a photo and used the cropping tools, the results are not even close to what you selected on screen with the crop and zoom functions.
How do we get this bug fixed!
    Thanks!

  • Contact pictures in messages (iOS 7)

    Hi all,
yesterday I downloaded the new apple mobile operating system iOS 7.
Now my question: When are contact pictures shown in the messages app? Could it be, that contact pictures are only displayed in a message group - if a message (iMessage) goes to more than one Person?
... yes, all my contacts have contact pictures, that can't be the problem.

Sorry - Does nobody have the same problem?

  • Contact picture setting

iPhone 5 where is the setting to view contacts pictures in the contact list, NOT just when you have 1 contact on the screen but in the list? I had the iPhone 5 before and there use to be a setting for that and I am not finding it now.

I'm looking for contact pictures to show up in the contact list not to add a photo to the contact.

  • Contact pictures not showing in text-messages section of HUB

I noticed a bug/mistake in the text-messages section in the hub.
When you are writing text message, contact pictures in the top left corner are showing only
    for some contacts.
I don't know whats the reason for this.
Does anybody have this issue also - or does anybody know a solution?
    Regards Johnny

    Hello johnny_1830,
Thanks for your feedback, do these contacts have pictures saved in the contacts profile? Or is the contacts picture linked from a social media account for example Twitter or Facebook?
    Thanks.

  • Contact picture when dialing

When dialing a number from my "contacts" the picture shows up underneath the overlay. Everyone else's phones I have seen (including the ones in the Apple Stores) show the contact picture at the top of the screen next the name. How can I get my iPhone to do this? I have a 16GB, 3G, and 2.0.2 update. Thanks.

You can search these discussions with the little search box to the right. I put in the search contact + picture and found your answer here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=7487288&#7487288

  • Contact picture, contact picture

Please bring back the full screen contact pictures instead of a small circle contact pictures on the top of the right hand side. I prefer the full screen contact pictures because is easily for us to recognize who are calling us. Thank you.

  • How to get the contact photos from the address book on the ipod ??

    Hello !
I figured out that it was available to sync the address book (on Mac OS)with the contact photos and find them on your ipod nano chromatic... But I have Windows and I can't make it work with Outlook. I can sync it with itunes and have the contact names and few infos but not the pictures, there is just a grey silhouette instead of the contact photo. Is there anybody that know how to get the contact picture on the ipod (with Windows OS) ?
Thanks a lot in advance !
    Hyrekia

Hooray !! I have found how to do it !! There is a new option now on itunes when you sync your ipod with outlook. You just have to check the box entitled "add the contact pictures". I'm not sure it was there before, but I did an update today !!
    I'm really glad !!
