Contact Picture size when iPhone rings

My wife's iPhone 3G displays a contact's picture differently than mine and we can't figure out why.
When her phone rings from a contact where a picture is stored, the Wallpaper is displayed large in the middle and the contact's name and picture is displayed small across the top.
How can we set her iPhone to display the contact picture full size?

Here's what you need to do.
In iPhoto set up a new album. I named mine "Contacts". In this album put all the photos you'd like to use for your contacts. I suggest 1200x1600 sized photos because that's what the iPhone photos are (so you'll get a consistent experience).
In iTunes, sync this album to your iPhone.
On the iPhone, go to Photos, and select a photo and push the button on the bottom left of the screen. Select "Assign to Contact".
Once you've found the appropriate contact it will now appear full screen when you receive a call.

When my iPhone rings, the saved image of the person calling from in contacts takes the entire screen (big picture), but when you watch the Apple commercials, the face appears as a small square in the upper right hand corner next to the name of the person calling.

If you set a contact photo from the iPhone, it shows up full screen. If you set it on the computer, then it shows up small. Go figure.
No way to change it otherwise. If you like the small photo in the corner, manage all the contact photos on the computer..

Contact Picture Size for iPhone Calls (4S, iOS 6.1.1)

I recently updated to iOS 6.1, and even more recently to 6.1.1. My problem is when I receive a phone call, the contact's picture is now full screen. Previously, it was a thumbnail size picture in the top right area of the screen. I much rather prefer the thumbnail size picture. I've searched throughout the forum and the only answers I've found were to edit my contacts on the computer instead of my iPhone, but I've never had to do that before. Is there a way to change it back? If not, I guess I'll adjust but any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Change picture size when sending picture from I-phone 5 to HP Officejet Pro 8900

I just installed my new HP Officejet Pro 8900. So far every thing is working great except when I sent a picture from my I-phone 5, the picture printed the full size of the 8 1/2 x 11 page. Not only do I NOT want a picture that big but I do not want to go thru that much ink. How do I change the picture size to a 4 x 6 or 5 x 7?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as part of the reason I bought this printer was so I could e-print. I take and print a lot of pics from my phone, I was hoping to avoid having to e-mail pictures to computer in order to print.

Reduce the resolution.
The picture will display as thumbnail on the phone when a call comes in.
Since Mountain Lion I had full screen caller pictures even when assigned in the OS X adress book.
In my case I reduced the picture to 64 x 64 pixels.
Then it showed as thumbnail as calls came in.
I don't know where the exact maximum pixel size for thumbnail display is.
If you find out, tell us.
This bugged me a long time and I would enjoy if this could help you.

IPhone 6 contact picture blacks out after calling on the phone. This is a sort of a bug since all the others options are available just the contact picture is blacked out

Have you tried to delete the contact and then re add them?

Can't choose picture size when uploading to Flickr

Same problem with a 270k photo that is 2200 x 1700 jpeg. The Flickr FAQ states a 10MB photo limit for Free accounts and pictures are scaled down with the maximum of 1024 being the biggest for free accounts. The other two iPhoto Flickr options may be for Pro account. I hope not.

Macbook won't alert when iPhone rings

Macbook pro updated to Yosemite.
Iphone 5. 8.02
Ipad Air.
Iphone and iPad will receive iMessages and iPad will alert when phone is ringing. Macbook Pro will not receive iMessages and
will NOT alert. What do I need to do? Also, when I go into preferences the option for checking my phone number on my iPhone is
greyed out.

I had this problem with my first-gen Core Duo MacBook. In the end, Apple had to replace the logic board which fixed the problem. I also had my Bluetooth module fail around the same time, and I suspect it was the constant detection/disappearance of the Bluetooth module that cause the computer to wake up (as it though that a USB device was constantly being added/removed.
Alternatively, it could be a bad PMU -- but either way, you may have to get some of the hardware replaced.

Does anyone know of an app that will get my Mac to ring a sound when the iPhone goes off???

Contact Picture Size During Call (iOS5 + iCloud)

Since the upgrade to iOS 5 during a call my contact images are displayed full screen rather than a small image in the call bar with the other call information such as name and duration. Does anyone know how to get the images to show in the small box during a call, as shown on Apple's website, again?
I have tried a couple of things I have read on various forums but nothing seems to work.
Any help greatly appreciated, thanks.

I think I worked it out.
If you add a high res image to a contact in Address Book, it will display full screen on the iPhone.
If this happens to me, I load the photo I like into Photoshop then save it in lower res & smaller px width & height
Seems to fix it.
EDIT - the image needs to be 200px X 200px to be displayed small on the iPhone.

IPad rings when iPhone rings since iOS8 upgrade

I have an iPad (Model MC774LL/A) and an iPhone 6, both of which I have updated to the latest iOS 8. Since that update, whenever my phone rings (incoming phone call, not a FaceTime call), my iPad also rings.
FaceTime allows such dual ringing, but my problem occurs for non-FaceTime phone calls as well. Also, this problem did not occur prior to the iOS update.
Has anyone else had this problem? Any thoughts on how I can stop my iPad from ringing?

If you are still out there, do two things, mark your question as solved so that if someone else sees it, they will know how you solved it and ..... make sure that you also turn the feature off on your iPhone. Actually, as long as you turn it off on the phone, the calls will not go to any other devices even if the feature is turned on for those devices.

Picture Size When Uploading to a Website

Just had a quick question. I have a Macbook, which has the IPhoto 6 version. I noticed recently that when I upload photos to a website (Facebook etc) they appear a great deal smaller then alot of other peoples do. For awhile, I just thought it was my digital camera which is over 3 years old now. But the other day, I uploaded some photos from my dell computer and they appeared (on Facebook) a great deal larger. I was just wondering if there is aa way to adjust this that I am unaware of. I have friends with Macbooks and their iphotos do no seem to have this issue...just thought I'd put this out there and see if anyone is familiar with or has experienced this issue personally!

How are you going about uploading?
It sounds very like you're accessing the thumbnail versions that iPhoto uses for display, not your actual files. Are you reaching into the /Data folder?
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
For 10.5 users: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Apple-Click for selecting multiple pics.

To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. If you're using Gmail you can use THIS
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto. With 10.5 you can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:

If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
Or, if you want to access the files with iPhoto not running, then create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use THIS
Other options include:
1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

How do you get your contacts pictures back when making a call?

Basically, now I've applied the update I can't see the photos I've allocated to my various contacts. It's a blur behind the call details and other options for muting etc.
Am I missing something really obvious?
