Contact Pictures Gone

I just got a newer Macbook Pro with Yosemite and downloaded the newest version of Skype. But when I view my contacts, almost everyone's profile picture is gone and replaced by the default blue icon. This happens everywhere: in the contacts list, in history, in the message window... Please help? Some contacts without pictures are offline, some away, some online, so apparently that doesn't make a difference. Can someone please help me out? This is driving me crazy and I can't figure out how to fix it.

If I remove the pictures from my iphone that I have chosen to use for my contact pictures will the contact pictures be gone too?

Same for me. Restarting the watch does nothing. The contact photos are also missing in the Apple Watch App on the phone.

Address Book: contact pictures gone

I have a couple of hundred contact pictures in my Address Book. After I did a lot of syncing back and forth recently between 2 Macs and an iPhone, I notice that a lot of them don't show any more. From inspecting the Images folder in my Library, I think that they are still there. I also notice that the pics have very different file formats: Some are listed as TIFF or jpg files, some as "pure text" and some as "executable Unix" files. Could that be the reason I can't see them? Since they don't have suffixes - how could I change the file type? And would they still be assigned to their contacts? (I don't want to re-assign 800+ pics to their contacts, and frankly with some pictures I don't even know who they are! )

Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

- You do have iTunes version 11 on the computer, right. Saying the latest is not sufficient.

Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
Your library/media will not be affected.
- Does the iPod charge?

Pictures gone from Contacts

All my contact pictures are missing from my Contact App. They are still in my Address Book on my iMac and they show up on my iPad. I use MobileMe to sync.

Same here. I just noticed today that all of my contact photos are gone from my iPhone 4 contacts, but they are still on my iPad and iMac. I just turned off the MobileMe syncing on my iPhone and enabled the syncing, which downloaded all my contacts again after erasing the contacts on my iPhone. The pics are back, but not sure if they are going to stay.

I updated itunes 11.1.5 and I accidently restored all my settings back to my old phone that was backed up onto my computer, I lost everything that was set up on my phone, contacts, pictures, videos, emails...etc.. how do I get my old setup back without doing a factory data reset?

Restore the device again using the most recent backup.
If there is no more recent backup and the pictures were not copied off the device prior to the original restore, they are gone. Same goes for videos taken with the device.
Contacts are designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service, simply sync them back.
Any content acquired from iTunes should be on iTunes on the computer, simply sync it back.

Contact Pictures not displaying in texts...

At some point yesterday my contact pictures has stopped showing up in text messages. They still appear when calls are placed and in the actual contact information, but no longer are in texts. I have restarted my phone and also shut it off for over an hour to try to get them to reload. Any suggestions on how to fix this or why this may have happend. They were there yesterday morning then just stopped showing up...

Thank you for your reply. These were contact pictures that I had specifically gone in and set for contacts (I.E. for my brother there is a picture of my nephew as his contact picture). I had to delete the pictures from the contacts and then just re-assign them, seems to be working perfectly fine now. I'm sure it was just some sort of glitch.

Contact pictures in Address Book not being displayed

Hi,
I am syncing my address book, calendar with Google. My "source" usually is the Mac address book. After having activated the "Mac <=> Google" sync, everything worked fine in the begining. But the last six weeks I seem to have a problem with the contact pictures:
I have created contact pictures for nearly 95% of my contacts. These pictures were copied to the address book either from iPhoto or from the web. Via Google sync, the contacts are transfered to my iPod touch, my iPhone and my Nokia Lumia 800.
Suddenly the contact pictures started to disappear from my Mac address book, but were still visible in my Google address book and my mobile devices.
When I started to add the pictures to my address again I realized that most pictures are still there, they were simply not being displayed in my Mac address book. By switching to "edit mode" and opening the picture field I could see the pictures again. After clicking "OK" the pictures is visible again.
I double checked all pictures, added the few missing ones and created an "address book archive". Yesterday all pictures gone again. I imported the archive, all pictures back again. This morning, the pictures are gone again. This whole thing doesn't seem to affect Google or the mobile devices.
Any idea what the problem with the address book is?
PS: Before you suggest to switch to iCloud. I need to sync my address book and calendar with all my mobile devices. If I would use iCloud, I would not be able to sync with my Nokia Lumia 800 (Windows Phone). And from comments in the forum, there seem to be similar problems with iCloud concerning address book information.

ICloud - addressbook contacts pictures disappeared

I just upgraded my iMac on OS X Lion and my iPhone on iOS 5... and i tryed to activate iCloud service.
Now I have a problem with my contacts pictures on AddressBook! Almost all of them disappeared after the syncronization!
Luckily this problem is only on my iMac AddressBook... all is OK on my iPhone and all is OK on iCloud website.
How to fix it?

I followed the steps laid out by Philippine Swing, but that did not solve the problem for me. After AddressBook>Preferences>Account>iCloud disabling and re-enabling, the addresses came in with most pictures showing just like in iCloud/iPhone/iPad, but there are three sort of problem cases:
1. Some addresses show no picture. However, if I double-click on the picture field, the picture shows up. When I then click on "set", the picture is visible. But when I click on a different address entry and then go back to the problem address, the picture is gone again. I can repeat this step indefinitely, but the picture never sticks forever.
2. Some addresses show no picture. When I double-click on the picture field, no picture shows up.
3. Some addresses in Address Book show a picture although I have the picture deleted in iCloud (and the change carried over to iPhone and iPad with no problem).

Contacts are gone

This past Friday night (6/26/09) my iPhone went dark. I tried powering it on and off, and hitting the home button, but nothing worked. I plugged it into a charger and nothing would come up on the screen. I cleaned the sensor areas to ensure it didn't think it was up against something.
After looking in the help section, I then noticed to hold the power and home buttons both down for 10 seconds. That reset it.
Saturday morning (6/27/09) I upgraded to 3.0 and then found all of my contacts were gone. My calendar entries, my recent phone calls, and my pictures are all still there, but my contacts are gone.
I was able to enter some of my recently called numbers into my contacts, but it would randomly assign old contact photos to the new contacts, matching up random photos to people.
I tried uploading contacts from the SIM card, but nothing happens.
Does anyone know how to recover the contacts? I have seen people having issues with double contacts, but never losing them entirely.
Just an FYI, when upgrading in the past, I connected to my PC at work, but in this case, I upgraded from home where I rarely connect with my iPhone.

The iPhone is designed to be synced with a supported application on your computer for contacts with the ability to sync contacts with the supported application on multiple computers.
Contacts are included with your iPhone's backup along with other iPhone data, but it isn't a good idea to depend on your iPhone's backup alone for this data.
The iPhone does not support storing contacts or any data on the SIM card, which is limited to a name and 2 phone numbers and maybe a single email address for contacts.
You can try restoring your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup.
Out of curiousity since I see the same reported often by Windows users, how do you get by without having any contact info available on your computer? If only email addresses are available for your contacts on your computer, and if only phone numbers are available for your contacts on your iPhone and the same with previous phones used, wouldn't it be beneficial to consolidate all contact info into one central location on your computer which can be kept synchronized with your iPhone? For every contact - their name, company, business and personal email addresses, business and personal phone numbers, and business/personal physical and mailing addresses all in one place.

IF you do find a backup that has your contacts; I'd /highly/ recommand turning off your wifi network after the restore is finished because if the issue is with your iCloud your contacts may merge back with her's.
With iCloud you DO NOT want to share the account; bad things happen Evil evil thigns...
But in all seriousness; if two devices have the same iCloud; iCloud is told to merge and sync infomation between hte two and can't tell that it doesn't belong to the same person

When I go into the sync options it say I have another user account and asks me if I want to merge of replace. I'm assuming it's trying to tell me I have an older iTunes Library, but don't know that. Geez, maybe people over 60 shouldn't have iPhones, iTunes just bafles me.

Your contacts are helpd on the server, so if you sign out from your iCloud account and sign into another one they will disappear. If you sign back into the original account they will reappear.

How do you add your contact picture to a text message?

I want to be able to see my contact pictures whenever I text someone from my contacts list. How do you put your contact pictures on a text message for iPhone 6? I can see my contacts pictures when I send/receive a group text but not an individual text. Is this feature equip for apple phones? Thank you!!!

i have this beautifully huge screen and this tiny picture.. i dont want to revert back to ios 7, but the tiny picture is really a deal breaker for me. i dont understand why this was changed. i really hope this is changable and someone can help me change it.
