Contact sheet settings on photos output as PDF - help!

I need some instructions on out putting a contact sheet to a PDF- version 4.
Thanks

I think for printing to PDF you have to have a PDF-creating program on your system. Either Adobe Acrobat (full version), or one of the free-ware PDF-creators.
After you've set up your contact sheet click on <Print>, and in the dialog box that comes up select a PDF-creating program instead of your printer

  • Trying to create a contact sheet for passport photos....HELP!

Aperture 3 and iMac are both new to me and after a lot of research, I finally figured out how to make a contact sheet for my passport photo so that I don't have to pay 10.00 for a measly 2x2 photo at Walgreen's. I went to file>print>selected the 8x10 borderless size and adjusted the picture so that I would be able to print 20 2x2 photos on one sheet. PERFECT....but....I don't really want to print it myself ( I don't have any photo paper right now )...I want to SAVE the image I created and upload it to Walgreen's so that they can print it. Then, I will cut out the 2x2 photo that I need. The only problem right now is that I cannot figure out how to SAVE the image to my computer, either in iPhoto or Aperture 3. If anyone knows, can you please help me out with this. OR if there is another way to create the image in another area of Aperture 3 I would like to know how!
Thanks for any help you can provide

Once in print after you have the layout you want select the Print button. This will bring up the  system print window (not actually print the image yet).
At the bottom of the new window is a button PDF select that. From that pulldown you can elect to save the print image as a pdf or better yet for your need you can save  as a JPG (or TIFF)
Once you have it saved as a JPG you can upload to Walgreen;s

  • How do I select more than one photo for a contact sheet

I am trying to print more than one photo per contact sheet (to save photo paper!) Iphoto help says to select the photos you want on the contact sheet and also to select how many photos you want on the "options" button on the contact sheet style selection. I cannot find either option in Iphoto.
    Thanks in advance,

Before you select "Print," hold down the shift key and click on each photo that you want on the contact sheet.
Then select "Print" with Style "Contact Sheet." The resulting window allows you to select the quantity of contact sheets that you want to print.

  • Manual photo placement contact sheet

Using iPhoto, I am trying to print a contact sheet with the photos in a specific order.
I have them in an album and I arranged them as I want them printed.  Upon printing to PDF, the images scramble.
I have tried, but without success, the following:
Tried setting the sort to "manual"
Tried "batch changing" the dates and re-dated them sequentially by one minute and then clicked "sort by date".
Tried changing the file name and clicked "sort by file name".
Have spent hours trying to fix this. At my wits end!
My goal is to print 5 contact sheets with comparable photos in identical locations.  Specifically, each contact sheet depicts a house on the market.  There are 5 houses = 5 contact sheets.  The upper left corner picture on every contact sheet is the house's front exterior.  The upper right picture is that house's kitchen and so on....so that we can lay out all the printed contact sheets and compare quickly.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Banana

Use a word processor like Pages to do this.

  • Can I Print a Contact Sheet of Photos in a Calendar?

I'm making personalized calendars for many different people.  I don't want to put in the same photos I had in their calendar for 2011.  Is there a way I can print a contact sheet of the photos I had in the 2011 calendar ( I still have it saved in Projects), so I don't use the same photos?  It's very tedious going back & forth, back & forth as I creat each new calendar.
    Many thanks.

  • I have a contact sheet of photos how can I quickly import the individual photos from the 9 photo contact sheet without edit each one then having to reimport contact sheet

I have a full contact sheet of 9 photos which I have imported. How do I take each individual photo and save it without having to edit from the contact sheet each time as this forces me to reimport the contact?

You can't. If you have a sheet with 9 shots on it and you want to make 9 individual shots you'll need to either
    Import 9 times
    Or
    Duplicate 8 times
    And crop accordingly.

  • Photo contact sheet

I have folders with bunches of photos that I need to review. In Windows Explorer I could print out a contact sheet of the photos so I can tell at a glance what I have.
Is it possible to do this in finder or any other program?

Just to add a bit to buckster's suggestion--
Once your photos are in iPhoto you can then print a contact sheet from iPhoto. From iPhoto help:
To print photos as a contact sheet:
Select the photos you want to print.
    Choose File > Print.
Choose a print setting from the Presets pop-up menu.
Choose Contact Sheet from the Style pop-up menu. The preview area shows how your photos will look when you print them.
Select options for the style you chose.
For example, you can select how many photos to print across each row of a contact sheet or show the title of each photo.
Photoshop Elements is cheap, will allow you to do anything with your photos a non-pro could possibly want to do, and also will print a contact sheet. If you are getting into photography I stongly recommend you get yourself a copy.

  • Questions Re: (1) Creating Contact Sheets, and (2) Editing photos

    Hello,
I have two questions about iPhoto '09:
    (1) Regarding the creation of a contact sheet, how do I select more than one photo at a time?!? I open up my photos, click on a photo to choose it. If I try to click the next photo I want on the contact sheet, the first one is un-chosen. I click File > Print > Contact Sheet, and sure enough, only the most-recently chosen photo is the only one on the sheet.
(I have tried Edit > Select All > Print > Contact Sheet, but [as is implied in the "all" part of Select All], of course this results in a contact sheet full of photos I don't want.)
    (2) Sometimes when I pick a photo to edit, click the Edit icon at the bottom of the window, get the enlarged pic and start editing, none of my changes show up i in the enlarged image. But when I click "Done," the changes are there in the image in the album. This is annoying, since while editing, I have to click "Done" to see the effect of a change every time I make one, and then start all over with the "Edit" icon, make more changes, click "Done" to see them, etc.
This does not happen with every photo. Weird.
Thanks, anyone, for ideas and help.

    (1) Regarding the creation of a contact sheet, how do I select more than one photo at a time?!?
The same as all Mac selections:
    - you can click on the first of a set of contiguous photos and then depress the shift key and click on the last of the set and select all photos from the first to the last
    - you can click and drag across a set of photo to select the set
    - you can click on a photo and then depress the command (apple) key and click on additional non-contiguous photos to select them
    - you can make an album of the photos you want and display the album and select all
and on and on and on - there are many, many ways to select multiple photos
    (2) Sometimes when I pick a photo to edit, click the Edit icon at the bottom of the window, get the enlarged pic and start editing, none of my changes show up i in the enlarged image. quit iPhoto and with the finder Delete your iPhoto preference file - "your username" ==> library ==> preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist - launch iPhoto and it will create a new default preference file, set any personal preferences you want and if you have moved the iPhoto library repoint to it

  • Sorting Photos for Contact sheets

    Hello all,
My family just wants a basic photo archive using a contact sheet style. I can create a contact sheet style in the print options. That part is fine but the problem I'm having is that when I try to print the photos as a contact sheet, all the photo gets all unsorted even though the photos are all sorted by name in the iPhoto albums or events.  How do i correct this so that when print the albums as a contact sheet the photo will stay sorted by name.
    Thanks
p.s. I couldn't get this to work in iPhoto '09 and I have recently upgraded to iphoto '11 and the same problem still exists.

Contact sheets are only sorted by date.  So if you need to print a contact sheet sorted by name put the photos in an album and sort by name.  Then select all and use the Photos ➙ Batch Change ➙ Date menu option.  Use any date and add a couple of seconds between each photo.  Don't modify the original file.
Now when you go to print the contact sheet it will be sorted by date with will be the same as your sort by title.

  • Iphoto Contact Sheet seems to not be WISYWIG

    Hi,
From iPhoto I am trying to print a contact sheet which is set 3 columns wide.
All seems file when in iPhoto. I can set the photos I want, and remove the titles. Everything seems fine.
However the A4 sheet I have in my iPhoto Print project gets reduced when I print it. The effect is to have the photos on a much reduced scale in the middle of the page.
If I print to PDF then I get the same effect.
My printer is a Cannon iP4500 but I don't think it is at fault.
    Any help gratefully appreciated.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. I just tried a contact sheet on A4 and saving to pdf. It appears correct. Delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder, launch iPhoto and try again.
If that doesn't fix the situation, check the preset you're using, if any to make sure none of the advanced printer settings in Paper Handling might be set to reduce the size of what's printed. There's one setting, scale to fit paper that you might check. It will scale up the layout to fill the page the best possible.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Adobe Bridge and respectable contact sheet

    Hi!
How is it that such a set of tools CC does not have a program to easily create a contact sheet of the photos or an entire directory tree with k-art?
I'm working on OS X, probably because at the Bridge program since its creation looked like "prosthesis" for Widnows Explorer. (Sorry, I'm sure I do not want to offend anyone).
CC version is completely left requiring a separate installation so. module with the mysterious name "Adobe Output Module". http://helpx.adobe.com/bridge/kb/install-output-module-bridge-cc.html
but In OS X 10.8.5 has not stopped working!?
On the PC for more than ten years is a fantastic app. Thumbs Plus (unfortunately not for OS X), but it looks like Adobe Bridge that had no patterns.
Do contact sheets from mix material or image are no longer necessary tool in professional graphics work?
I do not understand. I will be grateful for suggestions because I think something missed.
    Best Regards!

    Thank you for your response.
No, AOM in Bridge does not work.
Finding how to create contac sheets by CC took me some time. I discovered the "trick" of AOM.!? The result disappointed me, It's does not work on my system.
I'm supposed to CC but I wander in this task as a child in the fog. Adobe Help for this simple task of working with graphics seems quite murky.
I would like to learn how to use Adobe to create contact sheet because I do not understand.
    Best Regards!

The ability to create contact sheets and picture packages as a PDF presentation is now available in

  • InDesign contact sheet  is prompting reject or delete file message box

Some of us are experiencing a very weird problem in Bridge CS3. When we use the delete button to remove data from the contact sheet settings window (for ex., deleting any data typed into the Template or Output Options fields), the reject/delete files message box appears. I've watched one of my production artists do this, and it's quite odd. All he's doing is selecting a couple or all files in a folder and then creating an InDesign contact sheet. Has anyone else experienced this problem? We were also able to replicate the issue on a different Mac computer. Thanks.

    Lisa,
When I was writing that script, I chose to make it's dialog a palette rather than a dialog so that the user could modify the selected images while the palette was showing.
    What's happening is that:
When the delete key is being pressed, the palette to set the settings isn't active (you can tell by the title bar in the window). When it's active, it will receive the delete key event from Bridge, when it's not active, Bridge will process the delete key.
It seemed like a better way to do it at the time. This was the one bad case I can see, and I never thought about it nor saw it in testing.
    Regards
    Bob

  • Customized contact sheets from manual sorted iPhoto 7.0.2 albums.

I manually sorted photos in my iPhoto '08 album and want to print contact sheets showing the photos in this sorted order. Everything is working fine choosing the preselected contact sheet with 3 rows and 4 lines i. e. 12 pictures on each page. But when trying to customize the preselected contact sheet (for I want 4 rows and 5 lines) the manual sorting is gone and instead the pictures are sorted otherwise (by name I guess). Does anyone has any idea to solve the problem?
(I use Tiger 10.4.10, Mac Pro QuadCore, iPhoto 7.0.2)

    Gunther:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Have you tried dragging the photos in the contact sheet customize window to arrange them as you want? It works that way for me.

  • Contact Sheet - indd files

How about being able to create contact sheets that include indd files! Creating contact sheets for job folders is kind of pointless for us since it won't do indd files, hmmmm.... InDesign can't make a thumbnail from its own files? This capability would be sweet.
    Thanks!
