Contact sync is gone. how do i re-populate my Contacts on MBP

So I see the iTunes contact sync is now gone. Ok, whatever, I'll sync to iCloud. Is there a way to sync the contacts App on my MBP with iCloud? Not sure when it happened (Mavericks upgrade, iTunes upgrade, ?) but my contacts list on my MBP is now empty. How do I get my contacts in my iphone, ipad, icloud, back onto my MBP?

It was the Mavericks upgrade which made this new "feature" available. I don't like it.
Well, but to get it back on to your MBP you need to activate iCloud for contacts on your MBP (system preferences > iCloud > tick the Contacts).
Same setting you need to have on the iPhone (iPad and so on). Then all contacts should be moved to the iCloud.
Keeping fingers crossed. Maybe you should backup your iPhone first, making sure you have them incase this iCloud setting would erase them on the iPhone too. Then you could restore at least the iPhone.

Are your contacts still on your computer? If yes, set one contact up on the phone and sync it, you'll get the option to merge data.
If there are no more contacts on the computer, see if your latest backup still has the info, if you did not sync after you lose the info, they are still part of the backup.

we do what your doing... we use the same ID for "Icloud".
We do NOT use the same ID for: Face time and Imessage

The voicemail system used for the iPhone is different from the voicemail system used on the rest of the Verizon Wireless network. When you activate the iPhone, you lose your saved voicemails from the other system. When you activate a non-iphone, you lose any saved voicemails from the iPhone voicemail system too.

Try going to file-devices-restore from backup, if you dont have a backup then you may redownload past purchases (movies, music, apps, etc) from their respective stores by visiting "purchased" section.

Aren't those the default games that come with the iPod Classic? If so, they won't be in your iTunes library, but only on your iPod Classic itself as they are built in the iPod's software.

Only way to get it back is to restore your phone from a backup, if those pics were included in that backup.
But most likely those pics are gone.
What you should've done was import http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 the pics to your computer and after you restored from your old backup, you could sync those new pics to your phone via itunes.

Aren't they in your iTunes library? If so, sync them back to your phone. If not, redownload them (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519).

You can get iTunes purchases back by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
For other items you need to get them from whee yuo got them the first time.
The iPod backup that iTunes makes does not include synced mediai like apps and music. If those ore not in the iTunes library on the computer on which you performed the update they are lost.

After updating to 4.2.1 and restore backup... apps,ipod info, sync tab gone

after I finished updating my ipod touch 2nd & 4th gen to 4.2.1 and restore the backups.. a dialog box appeared
"iTunes can't read the contents of the ipod xxxxIpod. Go to the Summary in ipod preferences and click Restore to restore this ipod to factory settings."
and all my apps,my ipod name info, sync tab gone except "summary" tab where you can only restore to factory settings
so I revert back to 4.1 and works fine again

"Apple sync services deactivated" - how to activate them again?

I tried out Spanning Sync so I can keep my calender and contacts in sync with my android phone (google account), and it worked - until I somehow turned off the Apple iSync application which still tried to sync with my old phone over bluetooth. I wasn't able to remove the old device, so I deactived it.
Now... sync with Spanning Sync doesn't work anymore. it just says "Waiting for Apple Sync Services". How do I active it again??

alright... I am sorry for being so idiotic. I totally forgot that iSync is an app and not a system preference, I kept searching there. I started the app, opened the preferences and turned it on again. Now Spanning Sync works.
I still have the problem that I can't remove my old device, but that's a different problem.
