Contacts always on SIM/Phone.

Hi,
my contacts list always reverts to SIM and Phone, despite me frequently selecting just Phone. Is there any way I can lock it onto just SIM or Phone?
Cheers,
Antony

sorry dear...
i am not using 6280.
i am just saying from my experience by using 1100.
if you have any other unwanted sim then you can delete all the contacts from phone by single click.
else you want do delete each one by selecting one at a time.
while selecting an entry you can identify the entry in phone or in sim by the simbol on the corner of the screen(expecting so).
not yet satified pls conatct personaly someone who is using the same phone or nokia dealer.
thanks,
jack.

  • Sim phone book missing

Hope someone can help. I won the Blackberry Z10 phone (it's awesome!) and am learning to use it. I previously had the Tour 9630 (yeah...finally caught up) wanted to transfer my contacts. As per instruction to copy contacts from my SIM card to my old device's built in storage in my contact list on my old phone I should go to Contacts, then Menu > Sim Phone Book > Copy All To Contact. What's the problem? I don't see "Sim Phone Book" step when I hit the menu key! Where is it or if it is hidden, how do I retrieve it??? Help!!!

You should open your BlackBerry Address Book or Contacts.
Scoll down in the menu listing to SIM Phone Book. You should see it adjacent to "Filters".

  • Contacts issues - send contacts to at&t phone book or sim card? and un able to unsync email contact list with phone contact list

I have had several issues with my contacts on this phone. I cannot figure out how to send my contacts to the at&t phone book or to my sim card. The options/menu button in contacts is completely useless. It should give me the option on the sim card to transfer contacts form one list to another. I have already written on another forum about the contact list not letting me unsync one of my email contact lists and how I have 3 copies of all of my contacts because my email contacts are mixed in with my phone contacts.
BB really needs to fix this issue with the contact list because it is beyond frustrating. I even downloaded the new BB software today and it still hasn't been fixed.

OK...so this post is strictly about wanting to send your contacts to the SIM. That capability is one at a time only. And there's a reason for that.
The BB Address Book is robust, allowing you to have one name with multiple phone numbers and addresses. The SIM phonebook, on the other hand, is much less capable...if, for instance, you have one contact with three phone numbers in your BB Address Book, the SIM phonebook would require three separate entries to contain the same data (with the obvious duplication of the name on three separate records).
So, I must ask...why on earth do you want to send your contacts to your SIM? There are much better methods for moving your contacts from the BB to somewhere else...

  • I want to put my sim card from my iPhone 4 into a family members iPhone 4s. We have both backed up our phones to our computers.  I don't want his contacts listed on the phone while I use it, just mine.  How do I remove them off the iPhone 4s.

I want to put my sim card from my iPhone 4 into my husbands iPhone 4s, which he is not using.  We have both backed up our phones on to our own computers.  I don't want his contacts left on the phone while I use it.  How do I remove his info including music, photos etc from the iPhone 4s before I insert my own sim card.

You do realize that the SIM only contains account information for your wireless account.
Moving the SIM from phone to phone does not cause any of your iTunes content, contacts, email, etc to magically appear on the device.

  • I damaged my iPhone 4.  I have ordered a new 4s.  I never backed up or synced my contacts onto my sim card.  Do you have to do that manually or will my contacts be on my phone when I put my sim card in the new iPhone 4s?

The iPhone under normal circumstances does not store contacts on the SIM Card. It can read them, but again under normal circumstances does not write them to the SIM Card.
When you sync your new iPhone to iTunes on your usual computer you can restore from a Back-Up of your old iPhone to get Contacts and other data and files installed on your new iPhone.

  • Can I transfer my sim contacts to my new phone?

Can I transfer my sim contacts from my old phone to my new Galaxy S5 phone ??? ☺

Try syncing them  from the iPhone to a mail account like gmail, yahoo, etc.  and then syncing the galaxy with the same email account.

  • Why is my iphone 4 deleting contacts automatically? They sometimes re-appear later but not always. My phone lost 1000 or so contacts today alone!

    Any suggestions?

Robert, to clarify, I have the contacts section of icloud switched off. This was done some weeks ago in an attempt to stop this phenomenon. Didn't work. At one stage yesterday I had 1400 contacts but now it has swelled to 4500. Strange!

Generally this is a sign that the iPhone had previously been
hacked/modified/jailbroken and tis now relocked it to the
original wireless carrier. If this is the case, only that wireless
carrier can unlock your iPhone. You must contact them to see
if they offer unlocking and if you qualify.
Where did you acquire this iPhone?
What wireless carrier did you use before this problem?
Does the app Cydia appear on your iPhone?
What does it say when you look at Settings=>General=>About=>Carrier?

  • Nokia SIM & Phone contacts and getting them on my iPhone

I'm sure this has been answered, but I'm struggling to find it, so I'm going to ask and you guys can point me to the "I've already said this" answer.
My Nokia has phone numbers on both the old SIM and the Phone. I unfortunately cannot sync this particular model of Nokia with my Powerbook G4, so I can't simply slot the numbers straight into Address Book and go from there.
Can I insert my old non-3G SIM into my iPhone and pull the contacts off it, or will this make my iPhone go crazy?
(I have already registered and sorted out my iPhone and its new SIM card. Now I'm just trying to get the old contacts onto my new phone.
OH, second question: Could I take my 3G SIM, put it a Nokia, put my old SIM in another Nokia and sync them, then put the new 3G iPhone SIM into my iPhone?
Yes, i have two old Nokias. One syncs, one doesn't.

You can insert the Nokia SIM card into your iPhone 3G, and select Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Import SIM Contacts.

  • I always had Nokia Phones and could synchronise contacts and calendar with Outlook. I can't seem to do this with an iPhone 4s. How????

I always had Nokia Phones and could synchronise contacts and calendar with Outlook. I can't seem to do this with an iPhone 4s. How????

    2 ways.
1 Connect your phone to your PC, open iTunes and sync the contacts from there.
2 Open an iCloud account, connect your PC and your phone to it, select contacts (and any other services you want)

  • Merging Sim card contact list from old phone with Outlook contact list

iPhone synched with Outlook Contacts during iTunes activation, subsequently transferred old phone contact list from SIM card to iPhone. I want to merge the two files, but synching operation tells me that transferred items will replace existing Outlook Contact list. Not what I want - - How can I merge the two files?

I don't use Windows but the following states that it will sync contacts with Outlook on Windows 8 via iCloud. You will need to go to Settings > iCloud on the phone at turn Contacts on and also download the iCoud control panel to your computer as described in http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/pc.html

  • How to get your contacts to your new phone

These days, most of us live ane die by our mobile phones - our personal and business lives revolve around them; and yet technology moves so fast that our phones become outdated and are replaced so quickly. Luckily, the days when buying a new phone means that you have to laboriously re-enter all of your precious contact numbers are long gone.
There are a number of different ways that you can transfer contacts between your old and your new phone, including:
    1. SIM CARD
The original and simplest way to port your contacts is via the SIM card. This system sells itself on the ease of use and the fact that it guarantees universal compatibility, but this simplicity also brings with it the inflexibility - the SIM card can hold just one name and one number per contact, and a typical limit the number of contacts it 250, so it is rapidly ending its tenure as a medium for the storage and transfer of contact information.
    Advantages: Ultimate cross-device compatibility
    Disadvantages: Limited capacity
    2. BUSINESS CARDS VIA BLUETOOTH
Bluetooth connectivity allows data to be relayed between two phones within a range of about ten metres. All Bluetooth-enabled phones can send and receive contacts as vCard files, which allows you to transfer a complete contact to another phone with ease. Using the "Mark/Unmark" feature of your Nokia device, you can also send a batch of contacts at once - the phone still makes a separate transfer per contact, but provided the two devices are paired and set to automatically accept transmissions from each other, you can set things in motion and put the kettle on whilst the phones do most of the hard work - it's as easy as Options>Send business card>Via Bluetooth. The down side is that the vCards go into the Received Files folder of an S40 phone or the Messaging inbox of a Symbian smartphone, you will need to individually save each contact transferred to your address book, so it still isn't an ideal solution for large numbers of contacts.
Advantages: Quick and easy, wide compatibility, all contact information can be transferred
Disadvantages: Still laborious in the case of large numbers of contacts, bulk sending may not work correctly from a different brand of phone.
    3. DEVICE-TO-DEVICE SYNC
Many Nokia phones have a Synchronisation or Switch feature which allows you to transfer personal data such as contacts between compatible devices. This is an effective method to transfer data, but unfortunately different versions used in different phones (depending on age and OS) mean that even two different Nokia devices might not be compatible for this method.
Advantages: Easy to use and almost entirely automatic
Disadvantages: Not a reliable cross-platform method
    4. SERVER SYNCHRONISATION
A growing feature of the mobile internet is the ability to transfer your phone's personal data with a remote server, which is not necessarily the ideal way to transfer between devices but gives the added functionality that you can recover your data wherever you are in the world as long as you have internet access through your phone, so if you lose your data (or even your entire phone) on a business trip abroad, you don't have to wait to get home to recover it. An example of a server synchronisation service can be found at www.ovi.com
Avantages: Remote storage of data means you can use anywhere
Disadvantages: System still in its infancy for personal consumers
    5. PC SYNCHRONISATION
Using Nokia PC Suite, N-Series PC Sutie or Ovi Suite you can synchronise your PIM (Personal Information Management) data with your PC (Outlook, Outlook Express, Vista Contacts, Lotus Notes etc.), allowing it to be subsequently transferred to another Nokia device. For Mac users, there is Apple's iSync software which does the same thing, though whilst it makes transfer between different brands of phone possible it does not guarantee compatibility with all phones from any manufacturer.
Advantages: Any PC-connectivity-enabled Nokia phone is compatibile (PC only), cross-brand support (Mac only)
Disadvantages: Synchronisation software not always reliable
    6. CONTENT COPIER
Using Nokia Content Copier from any of the three PC Suites mentioned above, you can copy all or a selection of personal data from your phone into a backup file that can be restored to your phone after a repair or update, or transferred to another compatible phone. This gives ultimate protection as almost all of your phone contents can be saved, but the big downside is that this method is no use to you if you are coming to Nokia from another brand. Wise users back up their phones with Content Copier regularly to ensure that nothing is lost if the phone is lost, stolen or broken. Me, I remember to do it now and again
Advantages: All data can be backed up, and most data can be restored to most Nokia phones
Disadvantages: All of the big manufacturers have their own version, but they are not inter-compatible

  • How to edit contact list in sim card?

Could someone tell me how to edit contact list in the sim card?
When you edit the contact list on the phone, sim card entries are not affected.
    Thanks and regards.
    tkp11

The iPhone Will copy sim addresses automatically To the onboard memory and address book app however does NOT write back to the sim card . To edit sim card data you would need to put the sim back in a traditional traditional mobile phone.
The sim in the iphone is only used for network recognition.
