Contacts and Ipod Touch HELP!!
I have recently left school and the school deleted my itunes and basically reset my computer (toshiba windows XP) ! i have and ipod touch (running version 3.1.2 bit old haven't been able to sync) which was synced with that computer. On that ipod touch there are 500 contacts. Now i can't sync that ipod with the computer as it will erase all of the contacts! For christmas i got a Mac and have been trying to figure out how to sync the ipod! any ideas how to still keep the contacts but sync the Ipod or even just back it up??

A manual backup will help in your situation. Here's how to:
Make sure your new Mac is authorized in iTunes. Disable autosync in itunes, connect your ipod, right click on it in the device list and choose backup.
This will save data, pictures and settings to itunes. See what's included in this backup here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
Transfer your purchases the same way to copy all apps and bought media from the Store to your computer.
Set up at least one contact and event on your Mac, to be able the merge your calendars and contacts after your ipod got wiped during the first sync.
The rest of the data can be restored from the backup you made.

Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.

my ipod classic is visible in windows but not in itunes, this happens on 2 different computers where my iphone and ipod touch work fine which leads me to think something is up with the ipod itself and i cant find any threads to help.

I tend to make my playlists right on my ipod. This did not happen for the last 2 years. Just started recently. Did get a new computer recently.That is because you got a new computer. You can only sync all media from one syncing computer. You can sync from any computer to iPod using the manual method but that does not sync from iPod to computer.

Sounds like it's hardware issue. The iPhone warranty is based in the original country of purchase. Since it was bought in Korea you will need to ship the phone to someone you know in Korea to be taken in and then they will have to ship it back to you. The cost of shipping will be at your expense.

Time Capsule, iPhone and iPod Touch
I've backed up my MacBook and iMac on my 1TB Time Capsule, I've heard that you can also back up your iPod Touches and iPhone, I have contacts, music etc. on my iPhone and iPod Touch that I would like to be backed up, I'm not sure how to back both of them up, any information would be helpful, thanks.
The backup of an iPhone and iPod touch occurs in iTunes itself. But do not rely on this as your main backup.
Timemachine if setup will make a backup of your OS and iTunes information including the iTunes backup files it makes each time you sync and or restore and it mentions backing up or asks you to backup.
If you really want to backup iCal and Address Book follow instructions below.
1. Launch Address Book, And ensure it has all the same contacts iPhone does. if you have been syncing with address book then it will
*Go to File - Export - Address Book Archive - Save to Desktop. Then save that file to time Capsule or some other backup device.
2. Launch iCal, And ensure it has all the same calender data iPhone does. if you have been syncing with iCal then it will
*Go to File - Backup iCal - Save to Desktop, Now save to time capsule or any other device.
I personally recommending backing up like this biweekly or once a month to ensure you got the latest data backup.
If you store them on Time Capsule also store them on another portable HD or even iDisk if you got a .Mac account. You can never have too many backups -
Hey, I have and Ipod Touch and an Xbox 360 and want to connect my Touch to the Xbox to play music while playing a game, but my Xbox doesn't pickup the Touch. But my Touch charges, anyone know why or know a link to a similar problem that can help me in anyways?

My ical in my Macbook Pro is not in sync with my Ipad 2 and Ipod touch. What can I do?

Every time I use my Ipad 2 or my Ipod Touch to enter an event or an appointment to my ical, either one of them will show the event or appointment as soon as they are connected over WiFi. The same event will not show up in my ical in my MacBook Pro. I tried to sync them and nothing. I double check to make sure all the features in all 3 (MacBook Pro, Ipad 2 and Ipod Touch) are set with the same features and nothing. My ical in my MackBook Pro will not sync with the events in my Ipad 2 or my ipod Touch. Now, if I type the event in my MacBook Pro ical, and sync my Ipad 2 and Ipod Touch, then I have the events or appointments are recorded. But, many times, I do not carry my MacBook Pro with me, and I missed an appointment for example. Does anyone know how to solve this problem. Thank you.Greetings,

1. What version of the Mac OS are you running (Apple > About this Mac)?
2. What version of the iOS are you running (Settings > About)?
3. Do you use MobileMe/ iCloud or another server based sync solution like Google or Yahoo?
4. Do other changes to synced information like Address Book content sync successfully back and forth?
Based on your description it sounds like you have a 1 way sync issue. Events sync fine between the iOS devices and fine from the computer to the iOS devices but not from the iOS devices to the computer.

Internet problems on my macbook pro and ipod touch with camera.

For the last week or so I have been experiencing internet problems with my macbook and iPod touch with camera. I'll be online and clicking different news articles and suddenly the address bar will start to open a link but will not complete it. So what I do is go up to the signal bar and click turn off airport then turn it back on and that will temporarily solve the problem. Same solution on my iPod, I turn off the wifi and turn it back on. It is very frustrating for both devices. I will include as much info as possible. I have a NetGear RangeMax wireless router model WPN824v3. I was wondering if changing the wireless settings on that would solve my problem. I have the channel on 9. Mode on b and g. Security option on WPA-PSK [TKIP] with password. I would be happy for any help with this issue. Also I hope I'm following correct posting protocol. I haven't been on this forum in a while.Sig,
Thanks for the advice. I finally tried a solution after doing nothing. LoL. What I did do was change the channel the router was on from 9 to 7. I think I've done something like this in the past when I had slow internet and that worked out well too. I thought that would help and so far so good. Not an interruption so far but we shall see. To the guy or girl who expressed that they had the same problem as me I would try changing the channel of your router like I did. I will monitor the situation and see if it totally solved my problem or not and keep this thread updated. Thanks people -

New Airport Express and iPod Touch not playing nicely
I've been using Verizon FiOS for over a year, and during installation the tech hooked up a wireless Actiontec router. The router worked fine most of the time, but every once in a while it stopped working with the iMac and iPod Touch (1G). Sometimes it would work but then drop the signal for a few moments and reconnect moments later. Sometimes I couldn't connect for days at a time. I would either need to unplug the router for a few minutes or call Verizon to have a tech reset its settings. I do have my Xbox 360 plugged in via ethernet to the router, and during these outages, the Xbox worked. I figured that the router's wireless connection wasn't as compatible as it could be with my iMac and iPod Touch. I decided to purchase an Airport Extreme because my folks have one, and using the iPod Touch there was as easy as could be. It always connects instantly and has a strong signal throughout the house.
I hooked up my brand new Airport Extreme last week. Verizon's setup is through coax, so I have the coax plugged into the Actiontec, and an ethernet connection from this router to the WAN on the AE. The AE is in bridge mode. Both routers are downstairs next to my TV and Xbox, and my iMac is upstairs. The connection thus fas has been solid on the iMac. I get full signal strength and great download speeds. This isn't any different from the Actiontec; I am just hoping that the AE doesn't drop the signal and need to be reset like the Verizon router needed from time to time. The Xbox 360 is also hooked up to the AE now, via ethernet. It's working just fine, too.
My problem is now with the iPod Touch. Its connection to the AE is weak in comparison. If I am sitting right on front of the AE downstairs, it works. As soon as I go upstairs (where the Actiontec worked just fine), it loses the signal completely. At the top of my stairs, around fifty feet from the AE with no walls between the AE and iPod, I lose the connection. It simply does not work upstairs, even though this is where the iMac is located. The Actiontec router is no longer broadcasting wirelessly. Obviously I am trying not to use that router because it's unreliable, so I really want the iPod to work with the AE.
I have read I don't see anything here that helps me. I have reset the network settings on the iPod Touch. I have unplugged and replugged in the Airport. There's not much else I can think of to figure out why the signal reaches the iMac just fine from a distance but not the iPod. If anyone has troubleshooted this before, I'd really appreciate your help.I have a very similar problem with my AE! My MacBook, MacBook Pro & iPod Touch (1st Generation) all get a GREAT signal from our AE. BUT, our iPod Touch (2nd Generation) and new iPad (WiFi) get terrible signal strength unless we're right next to the AE!! Tech support at Apple is of no help! I'm ready to sell them all! This all started when we got the last OS update for iPod Touch/iPhone/iPad. So it must be a software issue not a hardware one..

Cannot connect to itunes store from my Netbook and Ipod touch 4g

I have upgrated my Ipod touch to Ios 5.0.1 and until recently i was able to download and update Apps from itune store from both my Netbook and Ipod Touch 4g . The weird thing is i am able to browse the store but only not able to doanload or update it says to check network connections.
