Contacts are showing up on multiple devices?!

When I turned contacts OFF in iCloud it took all of mine away too, it's back on but don't want contacts shared among devices. Texts I finally figured out, easy. But I'm afraid if I delte iCloud off a device entirely that it will delete that phone (or ipod's) contacts forever. BEcause when I turned Contacts off in my own iCloud it temp deleted mine along with the others. How do I keep my own, and the other devices their own without deleting or having theirs. I don't mind not using iCloud at all if that's even a possibility.

Thanks for the question. If your iPod is setup to manually manage content, you can add content from multiple libraries:

When manually managing content, you can add content from multiple libraries to your iPod or iPad. Even when manually managing music, some content may be available from only one library at time. This includes all content on iPhone and video content on iPod and iPad.

The file is called "Template_File.indd"
So, as discussed the main issues are:
1) The TOC doesn't generate all the listings (only those with the applied paragraph style "Heading 1 - Appendix")
2) When I try to create a new pargraph style and apply it to existing or new text, it reads the pargraph style in the Paragraph Style menu, but the style doesn't actually apply.
Hopefully you can figure something out from this. I really appreciate your help.

While trying to set up i cloud some of my contacts have been wiped out and all the contacts are showing up as numbers only, how to i fix this?

That depends on what you mean. If you mean two iTunes Store accounts, no. Only one Apple ID can be logged into the iTunes Store at a time and if automatic download, iTunes Match or re-downloading of content is used the ID can not be changed for 90 days.

If you previously had been using the same Apple ID for iTunes Store purchases for both of you there is no reason to change what you've been doing. If this is your wife's first iPhone, and you want to share the iTunes Store account just don't use the new Apple ID you created. As long as there are no purchases on it there's nothing to worry about.

Handling contacts with iCloud, one person, multiple devices. Help?

Hi, and thanks for your help.
I want to use iCloud to keep my contacts synced across my iphone 4s, my iPad 2 and, of course, icloud.com.
I just turned on iCloud on the iPhone 4s and performed a a backup, and now all of the 300 contacts from the iPhone are showing up on icloud.com. Great, as expected.
But now I want to set up iCloud on my iPad as well. It has 400 contacts, which are mostly the same as those on my iPhone but with about 100 additional contacts that aren't on my iPhone.
My questions:
What will happen when I "flip the switch" to turn on iCloud on the iPad?
How will the additional contacts be handled?
Will the contacts on the iPad be wiped out and replaced with those now stored on iCloud.com (which would cause me to lose the 100 additional contacts)?
Will duplicate contacts be created so that no contacts are lost (but forcing me to delete 300 duplicate entries)?
If I have the same contact on both devices but with slight differences (e.g., one has an extra phone number), what will happen with the differences? Will one be overriden, or will they be treated as separate contacts?

No, it will not wipped out your contact but add to it. If you're not sure, you can always do a back up first.
As long as you always used the same Apple ID in both iDevices, everything should be fine.

I'm trying to set up groups of contacts for my iPhone 4s. in order to do that I'm told I have to do it on my desktop computer. It is impossible to do it on my iPhone. However, not all of my contacts are on the computer as are on my iPhone. Most all the contacts are on the computer except for the ones I need. I have checked iCloud on both my desktop and my iPhone and iCloud is switched on for mail, and contacts along with a few others. What else do I need to do to get all my contacts to my desktop so I can make a group?
Also, if iPhone is so good why couldn't I do it on my iPhone?

Just upgraded to iOS 7 and messages are showing up on multiple phones within our family. We all use the same iCloud account. I believe this happened the last time there was a major iOS upgrade but I can't remember what the fix was! Help!

The four members of my family just upgraded to iOS 7 last night. We now find that we are receiving each other's text messages. It's possible that during the installs, a few members may not have "unckecked" the multiple phone numbers they can be reached on. I know that I had to uncheck my husbands work mobile number and work email address as they came up as choices for contacting me. So now I am receiving some of my daughter's text messages on my phone - she's not impressed! My husband is receiving my texts etc... It's a mess! I appreciate any help anyone can offer!

I had this problem last night as well. Only my daughter upgraded to iOS7 and she had an old phone of mine. When she upgraded, the phone asked for my apple ID and then continued as normal. However, after the upgrade, any text message that I recieved, she also recieved. I am pretty sure my wife thought I was hammered when she started texting me and my daughter began answering her not having any clue what she was texting about. Anyway, this only occurred with texts from other family members, not from texts I received from friends who are obviously not on our account (we have Verizon BTW). To resolve this issue, and it isn't a short resolution.... there are two options... One, simply erase everyting on the phone.... I don't like iTunes 11, so we were unable to back up her phone. I made her go through her 600 photos, delete the ones she didn't want and email the ones she wanted to herself, and then we wiped the phone clean and rebooted it... go into Settings, General, Reset, Erase All Content and Settings. The second option, if you have iTunes 11 is to back up the phones one at a time, and then go into Settings, General, Reset, Erase All Content and Settings. Either of these options wipes the phone clean of all information, text contacts pictures etc and then you have to re-enter all of your individual information. When you do that, make sure that no one is on the same iTunes account. Theoretically, after you do this, you plug back into your computer and SYNC your phone from the last back-up. This resolved the problem for us. I don't know if there is an easier solution, be we tried logging in and out of our iTunes Accounts, turning the power on and off, and nothing changed. So, we had to go the more difficult route to avoid mass confusion with family texting.

Why my contacts are not in my new device with icloud?

Did you backup your 4s to iCloud and also sync your contacts to iCloud? If you synced them, you can use an internet browser and log in to https://www.icloud.com and see them there. Doing that would help you confirm whether they are in iCloud from a sync. If they are then go on your 5c to Settings > iCloud and confirm that the account is the same and that Conacts is on (green). That should bring them to the phone if you are connected to wi-fi. If not connected to wi-fi you may need to go to Settings > Cellular > Use Cellular Data For and turn Contacts on there as well.
If they aren't at https://www.icloud.com then that would indicate that they weren't synced there but that doesn't mean they weren't backed up to iCloud. There isn't a way to view the contents of an iCloud backup but if they were backed up, then they should come to the phone as part of a restore. Your post doesn't indicate whether you did a restore as part of setting up your new phone.

Two MAC Addresses are showing up under one device

I have an AC1900. My Son and I both have iPad's. In the device list in Smart Wi-Fi, it shows both devices as one.
How do I split these out into two devices so I can manage my son's device with parental control?

Did you confirm that the iPads MAC addresses by looking in the iPads settings?
Are both the iPads named the same in the device?

Contact card showing differently based on device used

We are using Lync 2103 full client through O365. On my desktop computer running Windows 7, the contact card populates all information for the user. On a Surface Pro running Windows 8, the contact card is missing information like Work phone #,
View Source, Bldg, and Title. It seems like on the Surface Pro, Lync is not obtaining information from SharePoint. Any thoughts on this? It appears to be this way for all Surface Pro's. Not sure if it is a Windows 8 issue or what.

it looks like I figured out the issue. My Outlook was corrupted and would not open. Apparently Lync pulls contact information from Outlook. Once I got Outlook working, Lync pulled the contact information.

Not all Exchange contacts are showing up in Address Book

My exchange sync resulted in about 100 missing contacts in address book. Both outlook and iphone display the correct number of contacts...anyone else seeing this and know how to fix?

Oddly enough, my distribution lists are working, although they are invisible and thus uneditable... is this something we can anticipate a fix for any time soon?

Why does Photostream quit uploading pics located in "upload" folder? About half of my 300 pics are showing in my various devices...

When it stalled out, I matched up the missing pics from the original folder and gave it another shot. About another 1/4 went up, then it stalled. I actually watched my iPad the second time, and could see the images pop up. I had copied three short videos; I've deleted them from "upload" but had to end the applephotostream process to do it. Any ideas?
